6 star coffee in a modern gorgeous setting. Staff are amazing and experienced. Pastries and toasties are a little pricey for this retiree but look delicious.

Popped in very quickly to grab some takeaway lunch while my baby slept in the car. Service was great, very fast! I went back and waited in my car for a few minutes (with my sleeping baby) to find everything was ready and waiting for me on the counter when I went back in. Chicken baguettes are delicious and so was the coffee! Will definitely be back here again! Thank you 👌👌👌

Yum! Dropped in as this was the first cafe we saw while going through Broken Hill and wow, more vegan delicacies than any cafe we’ve been to, anywhere! Tried the strawberry lychee danish and it was sensational. Oh, the coffee is great too :)

Absolutely delicious food, wonderful coffee (the cats pajamas) with very fair prices. Walk in and you'd swear it was on par with the big city! Best coffee in town by far.

To start, exc coffee. Interesting, enticing choice of food, we had Cheese Slaw Chicken huge toastie. Followed by divine Citrus Polenta delectable. Staff helpful, service prompt. Did I mention great repurposed venue.

Friendly service and I was surprised there's a museum at the back. I hope they advertise that a little bit more. It was very interesting. The ice cream I had was delicious full of peanut butter.. but very icy. I think probably there was a bit of misstep in its preparation. My friends enjoyed their milkshakes and their homemade flavours, though I still feel it was.. just artificial style flavours. Interesting disco Dinner vibe.

It's a retro milkbar. Good milkshakes. No thick shakes on Sunday? Great hot chips. The museum is free and worth a wander through as you go to the dunny (toilet).

We arrived shortly before closing, but were happily seated in the booth section. We both loved the 50's vibe. Staff was dressed in old school outfit which gave us a 'Back to the future' feel. We'll definately return!

A 50s style milk bar with milkshakes, spiders, waffles and burger-type food. It doesnt appear that the decor has changed much since the actual 50s, so it feels a bit grimy. However, the waffles were fresh and tasty, and the flat white was good but not great. But by far the biggest downer is the lack of relevancy in some of the wall art - images that should have been removed long before now (see pix).

Wow, great place, amazingly you walk in and take a step back in time. We had amazing food. I had the waffles with banana, 10/10.

Talk about stepping back on time....to actually a better time. Reminded me of my upbringing, the furniture, furnishings, the authentic milk bar keeper - fantastic milkshakes and hot dogs that took me back. An absolute must see, must visit!

Best BLT ever, contained almost half a pig! Fresh lettuce and tasty mayo. My companion had the Brekky bruschetta which was equally amazing. Friendly staff too. A must stop cafe if you are passing through town

Slow service. Bacon and egg roll tiny on a sweet bun. Kind of like McDonalds hamburger. Yuk. Vegan ashes avo had feta on it. If I was allergic to dairy, call the ambulance 🙄😡

I've had hundreds of steak sandwiches all around Australia, and I have to say, that was the best steak sandwich I've had in many many years. They are not charging enough for it (in Melbourne/Sydney you'd pay twice as much to get less). You get the Turkish bread, bacon, ailoli, egg, proper serving of chips the lot. Highly, highly recommend tell your friends.

Went here as I was looking for gluten free cafe. No mention on menu of any gf or gfo meals. Had to ask at counter. Was told salad was gf. Asked if beef patty in burger was gf as I was thinking of having a naked burger. Server did not know nor did chef. Always concerned about a premise's knowledge of gf when it's not addressed on the menu, and the chef doesnt know about ingredients. I wouldn't return here for a gf meal.

I went there because it was open early. Was surprised to get the best bacon and egg roll I've had in my life. Lightly toasted brioche bun, heaps of bacon. Just brilliant

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the restaurant with both meals delicious and well presented. The salmon mains was one of the best I have enjoyed in many years (we told the Chef). Service was excellent as was the ambience. Recommended.

Visiting from the Midwest of the USA…. Arriving midday… met a local at the airport who highly recommended my visit to Astra….. From the first greeting in the pub with Kathryn and Kessa…. Was such a pleasant and welcoming time to relax. When the restaurant opened I wandered over and had such a great tasty filled with flavor meal. The staff is just awesome …. Warm and friendly. I had the salmon. A very generous portion with a mix of vegetables that really was so tasty and very delicious. The restaurant gets a little busy and the staff were so attentive …. I’ve been to visit twice and I’m here for 5 days.

Never expected to find my favorite dessert on my trip through Australia in Broken Hill. You need to try the apple crumble dessert is just well balanced not too sweet and with a lot of texture. Obsessed!

We love dining at Trinders. The food is always excellent and good sizes. We have always found the wait staff very friendly and efficient. We find when you are friendly and courteous you always get treated well! Trinders is at the top of our list when we recommend local restaurants .

My partner and I stopped in at Broken Hill last week as we were passing through on a road trip. We came in without a reservation and all the staff were so accommodating and lovely. Our waitress gave us great recommendations, the risotto was amazing. 10/10.

We hadn't made a reservation but the concierge was incredibly helpful and arranged for us to sit in a very busy restaurant! The food was excellent and the service 👌 Only mark down for me was thar the waitress was chewing gum during service...

This place has delicious food and coffee😁👍. I had the delicious & fresh seafood Paella, nice fruity sauce, scallops were really good, the prawns not so, overall very flavourful😋. Service - 4/5 Mains - 3.5/5 Dessert - 5/5 Overall, our experience was nice. The wait time for our main meals was long. We waited at least 45 minutes. The gnocchi was a little bit bland. The paella had a burnt taste throughout it (the dish was burnt on the bottom) and it was a bit dry. Fortunately, the barramundi and pork belly was very tasty. The desserts tasted AMAZING. Highly recommend. Would visit again.

Would have been 5 stars if the steak had not have been tough. The Barramundi was excellent. The salad dressing was a revelation. Very nice ambience staff were courteous and well skilled at their trade.

Attentive service, relaxed atmosphere. Paella was great, prawns a tad overdone for my liking. Would have preferred that the shell was left unpeeled, but delicious. Friends curry (lamb) was quite fatty and not enjoyable they said. Well priced. Will certainly revisit.

Fantastic all-round. It is fine dining so be prepared for some expensive meals but it was worth it. Warm personality, charming service. They know their products and are so happy. At the end, the chef came out even to greet us. Thanking us for coming and they were glad that they could squeeze us in. You definitely have to book quite some time in advance. The emu kofta and that kangaroo was so melt in your mouth - it was a standout. Every dish was amazing and featuring native products. The dessert looks amazing but a little bit too small serving.

Not only is this a restaurant with a very special delicious menu , that takes you into true Australian produce, it has a great atmosphere of excellent service in a friendly relaxed environment. I love that they use tablecloths! The chef/proprietor greeted us at the end of our meal and we had a very nice chat about the foods we ate , the restaurant's philosophy and their desire to pursue a special experience. It is also well priced for the quality and quantity of food we enjoyed. Congratulations and may your future be long and successful!

This place has the best food in town👏. I had the best beef wagyu steak on mash and veg, with Shiraz juice, wow absolutely amazing quality, very tender, juicy and flavourful loved it😁👍😋 for dessert had a tasty and healthy GF quandong pie with delicious ice cream, very good different flavours and textures, sweet and creamy😍nice atmosphere, comfortable setting, good lighting, good service, lovely and friendly staff and great chef, thanks heaps guys. Ordered take out - chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Chicken was ok and naan was soft. Being only Indian restaurant in BH, I have nothing to complain.

Great little place in Broken Hill, and probably the only Indian restaurant in the town. A lot of people in the reviews have complained about the Naan, however, the Naans are 'home made' (having had them all my life I can tell the difference) and not packaged naans. That's why they taste different. The food definitely could be better in terms of consistency, however, the fact that one can have Indian food in the middle of nowhere is a luxury. The service was also great and the person taking the order was very polite and kind. Would definitely come back if we happen to pass by Broken Hill again.

This place has amazing authentic Indian food. I think it is one of the best places in Broken Hill to eat. Every time I order the staff are so friendly. It's great value, super fast, and delicious!

The lady here is so rude. She just rudely told me to stay outside. If you are not taking any orders, then at least mention it on the door and not let the customers wait 15 minutes for you while you ignore them and do your own thing Edit: You were open. You just rudely asked me to stay outside. I kept waiting outside for 15 minutes for you to come and take the order. I had to knock again several times until the guy came out and told me that you have too many order already and can not take any more orders. Yeah, I am also not dying to eat at your place either.

Sarika puts a massive amount of heart and care in showing Broken Hill her traditional cuisine and cooking. I have been a customer for more than several years and every order is quality. Excellent food and highly recommend.👍

Review has been edited. read in full! Ordered over the phone. Specifically asked about the free butter chicken for orders over $60(now $80). Was told that it was now only for orders over $80. Arrived to pay and the total came to $83. Guy who took payment said we hadn’t asked about the free butter chicken so we couldn’t get it and refused to acknowledge that we had in fact asked for it. Very disappointed! Came from Sydney. Won’t be eating here again! EDIT: Called by Sarika not even 20 minutes after leaving the above review, she was more than apologetic over the mixup and offered to deliver the butter chicken to our door. Her service is outstanding as is the food. Will definitely be eating here again.

Excellent choices of curries and sides; during our work visit we ordered from Masallas multiple times for dinner and lunch due to their wide selection of choices. From the naans to the curries the dishes were all delicious and of great size. In addition, the customer service was excellent and accommodating to our dietary requirements. And the Mango Lassi hit the spot! Thanks

Mate. This is my favourite place in town. Trish is a champ, and her and her mother bake the UNIQUE (did I say unique?) pies. Some different, some familiar with their own idiosyncrasies, but all tip-top magoo. The coffee makes me wet my pants. Just go, okay? Thank you.

I absolutely love the Silverton Bakery! It’s not just a great little country bakery — it’s honestly the best bakery I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. If I lived closer, I’d be there every week without question. Sadly, I’m about 1,000 kilometres away, but that hasn’t stopped me from dreaming about it regularly. Their lamb pie is hands-down the best pie I’ve ever eaten — no exaggeration. The filling is rich and savoury with beautifully tender lamb, and there’s a subtle but perfect hint of mint and rosemary that takes it to a whole new level. It’s a flavour combination that works incredibly well and gives the pie a bit of an elevated, gourmet feel while still being hearty and comforting. The cinnamon buns are another standout. They’re soft, perfectly spiced, and topped with a generous layer of cream cheese icing that’s not too sweet — just right. It’s one of those treats you eat slowly just to savour every bite. Everything here feels like it’s made with genuine care and passion. It’s a charming spot in a beautiful part of the world, and absolutely worth the detour if you’re anywhere near Silverton. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.

Myself and my partner stopped into Silverton bakery. OMG!! The best curry chicken pie with chips and gravy and lamb pie with chips and gravy and a cheeky custard tart and apple crumble to finish it off. Will definitely be coming back again. 10/10

OMG - I just the most amazing cinnamon scroll, hot out of the oven. As good as the ones I used to get in Canada. Serviced by the most lovely (?)French /French Canadian woman. Sausage roll was excellent. Super clean and worth every bump in the road to get there. What a highlight! I would head back just to have morning tea there again. Resident donkeys arrived as we left.

Absolutely fantastic, The cheese and bacon pie was amazing, The apple turnover after was heaven, Highly recommend stopping in here and trying everything. Best part was the gluten free options. My wife who is celiac was overwhelmed with the options and enjoyed every bite.

Every bakery has the usual fare you can expect, pies, scrolls etc. But out here in forgotten little Silverton is the best bakery food you will ever have the pleasure of tasting. Fantastic hot cross buns. The only problem is they don't have a very long shelf live. Each time I've bought an extra bag to freeze. For some reason they never make it there!!! Maybe it's just a well as Easter is only once a year. I'll have to be content with their excellent fruit loaf on Saturdays. The pies are among the best (according to this fussy pie eater). Great pastry and heaps of meat😋

Mouth watering spinach and ricotta croissants and the best sausage roll we have ever eaten ever! The jalapeño and cheese loaf and their danishes are pretty amazing too! We think this bakery rivals Lune in Melbourne, it’s that good! Unfortunately, we only had two days to indulge. Highly recommend. Would return to Broken Hill for this bakery! Recently purchased pie and sausage roll, pie was dry and almost uneatable, sausage roll was no better. Went to this bakery because of the great reviews, all I can say is some customers have very low standards.

We just stopped here on our way out of Broken Hill. We grabbed a pie, spinach and ricotta croissant, sausage roll and a lamb pocket. The food was delicious and the coffee was great as well. So much so that 20 minutes later we went back to grab some bread! What a lovely speciality bakery. Clearly you love what you do, as it shows in the food ❤️🫶🏼 🥖🍞

What a great find in Broken Hill. Love the sourdough products. Only eat sourdough in the bread department and sometimes hard to get good bread when travelling however we are very pleased with this place. Excellent service also.

Had some kind of breakfast (whatever the big breakfast type of option was from the menu), and it's up there with one of the best breakfasts I've had out. All of the ingredients were cooked well and had good flavour. Poached eggs' yolks were still runny - without still having runny whites. Piccolo latte was delicious 😋

A great coffee place in downtown broken hill. A fantastic flat white, exactly as it should be with that magic blend of sweetness from the milk and great shots of coffee. Strongly recommended if you're in town or passing through.

Quaint little cafe just off the main street. The service was good and efficient, Atmosphere is a bit stale. If you wear hearing aids be prepared for echo type background noise due to the high ceilings. The food was a let down. Ordered a Rueben and felt like I needed razor teeth to saw through the corned beef. They definitely chose the wrong cut of meat for the sandwich...much too sinewy and very hard to chew. Coffee was good.

McLeod's is a very traditional old-style bakery - it feels very comfortable to be there. The bakery building is not situated in the main shopping area so it is not part of the tourist drag. The owner was easy to talk with and we exchanged quite a few stories. I enjoy more unusual foods so it was great to find a steak and kidney pie that tasted good like it should. Unfortunately I believe the owner is intending to retire in the not to far future - the future of the bakery yet to be decided.

Tucked away in Broken Hill but more than worth finding. Great pies, lovely cakes 🍰. About the best value pies I’ve seen. They believe in attractive pricing. Customers coming back makes that a clever decision. Highly recommended.

Pizza has little topping. Nothing like photos on posts for food. Small pizza had more topping than larger. Cheesy garlic bread a flat piece of cold bread . On posts photos showed decent base but not the case - came thin and not crispy!!

Food was good , although ships were too salty for my liking . Pizza was great lots of toppings and nice and hot when delivered . well worth a try :)

We have eaten many pizzas is our time but this was really bloody good and unexpectedly delicious. They are a bit off the beaten track but we ordered in store with a great deal (2L pizzas, drink and garlic bread for $51) and then with a $5 delivery fee went home and waited for delivery (approx 45 mins). Delivery guy was super polite and cheery. Pizza has lots of toppings , great flavours and the base is nice and thin yet tasty so you are not left with that bloated dough gut !! Would highly recommend.

Ordered pizza at 5.30 for delivery at 6.30 so that they would not be rushed. Was told that our order was next in line and would be delivered at 6. Rang at 6.50 to find out where it was only to be told that the delivery driver is walking out the door with them now. Apparently takes 50 minutes to deliver in broken hill as they arrived at 7.40. And they are cold. Great work!!!! Lift your game!!!

They may be well hidden however from someone who knows their way around a pizza, I can highly recommend the Pizza Runners in Patton Street. Plenty of tasty ingredients, prompt service. I travelled 900 kms + from Sydney which was made all that much better for the pizza. Thanks fellas

Ordered 2 pack crumbed fish pack and I repeated it a few times al9ng withy address. chips and salad.After an hour and a half wait Got 2 piece battered fish which my cat will now enjoy as cant eat battered fish. the chips and salad it is for me for dinner now

Best take away in town hands down! Everything is always delicious never had a bad meal and have been getting it for years. Great customer service always friendly and even though delivery can take a while because they are always so busy because they are so good its worth the wait :)

Popped in for dinner based on online reviews. Ordered 2 baked potatoes. Both were under cooked and still crunchy, the flesh, not the skin! Drowned in butter and the bacon is half raw. Not even enough heat in it to start to melt the cheese! Really hate leaving bad public reviews but as a traveller I certainly won't be going back!

Did not know about this place until my son told me, and he is a bit of a connoisseur of food. Ordered it tonight and OMG delish! The burgers ❤ and they deliver too, it took a while but it is Saturday and no doubt busy, but seriously - worth the wait. Will not be going anywhere else, thank you

I thought the hot stone steak grilling was a fun experience and the meat was a high quality, although the parmigiana was overpriced for what was delivered. Good drink specials too.

Great spot for lunch with friendly and efficient service. We shared the caesar salad which had an "add protein" option, the arancini balls in romesco sauce and chips. All delicious.

I move this Pub and love this town!! Arrived 5 days ago from Wisconsin. The setting is great. Spring is really coming along and you can enjoy the sunshine at lunch time. Plus the daily specials are just great. Today. Monday. Is the Chilli Mussels….. a very generous portion. The sauce was simmered perfectly with just the right balance of garlic, peppers and tomato sauce. Plenty of sauce to accent the mussels and the garlic bread. The flavor from incredible from the first bite to the last. Be sure and save a little of your bread to get every bit of the sauce from the bottom of the plate. The staff, chef and people are super friendly.

We cannot fault our visit to the BHP. We’ve travelled extensively & I would have to say, hands down, the BHP’s Roasted Vegetables & Quinoa Bowl (w Grilled Haloumi), was the best I’ve had. It was packed with flavour; from the burst of the fresh pomegranate to the creamy tang of the tahini dressing, it was a taste sensation. My husband couldn’t go past the Chicken Schnitzel & that was equally impressive. The portion size of both meals was generous. We’ll probably return before we leave Broken Hill. Delicious meal at the “BHP”. Great menu, beautiful presentation, good sized meals & it was really delicious. Highly recommend for a quality pub meal.

They were a little overwhelmed by a large party the evening we were there. Staff were stressed so probably not the best time to rate. Servings while adequate were a little on the stingy side given the pricing. I'll go back next time we're in town and revisit this review as it could be a little unfair.

Overall very disappointing after reading previous reviews. The barstaff were very friendly & it was great to be able to order half-portioned meals. While the chips were crispy, fresh & appetising, the chicken schnitzel was stringy, bland & barely edible. Our meal at the Tydvil Bistro was far superior.

Love the curries - could never go past them. Multiple visits, never let down. Renowned for their lamb shanks. Good wine range to boot is a mega plus. Whether an intimate dinner for 2, a lonely delicious dinner for 1 or a large or huge gathering - highly recommend

We had a great meal here at Silvers last night, the food was excellent & the staff were wonderful, particularly Bec & Katrina. My husband & I had great conversations with them both, they were engaging, caring & helpful. During our meal it troubled me to witness other guests rudeness towards them. Bec & Katrina are professional & delightful human beings, helping us choose take away desserts because we wanted to get out of there, while these rude people just complained about whatever they could think of ..... (the desserts we took back to our accommodation were absolutely yummy!!)

Broken Hill for all it’s wonders was sadly lacking restaurants that were open. Probably due to lack of staff due to ongoing COVID. This restaurant was open both nights of our stay. Making the best of a skeleton staff with humor and good will. The food was excellent. Especially the curries. Which were true to any you would have in India itself.

A great place for dinner. The waitress suggested the wine special which was a delicious pairing for our meal. The bruschetta was a great entree. I had the Napoli pasta, the sauce was so flavorful and the side salad was tasty too. The waitress was super attentive and even suggested a good art gallery for us to check out tomorrow!

Excellent food, good wine list, quiet environment so you can enjoy your fellow diners conversation, great place for dinner out in Broken Hill. Hidden away in the back of the pub - good value.

Not recommended. Fried rice was utterly tasteless. Literally, no taste. Just boiled rice with oil and vegetables thrown around in a wok. Honey king prawns, I’m guessing, have been kept in the freezer since 1976. Huge serving but incredibly disappointing in terms of flavour and total lack of freshness. Chewy, tough, dry, stringy and inedible. Not kidding; could not chew through the prawns. Inedible. Gave up after two. Service very pleasant and courteous. Turnaround fast. Clean presentation at front bar. Would suggest you eat elsewhere if your taste buds are in need of some fun.

Can easily walk past this restaurant with an unassuming exterior and limited signage. Once inside it is evident by the numbers this place is well known to locals. Excellent value lunch specials at $16. Huge portions and fast service. Cans of drinks served with glasses with ice. Mongolian Beef was pretty good by country Australian standards. Looks like restaurant was once a pizzeria so not a whole lot of atmosphere inside. Friendly staff.

Fried rice awful. Just boiled rice with a bit of ham & peas in it. No soy sauce no anything. No flavour at all. Note to chefs at restaurant, it’s fried rice not boiled rice. Chicken omelette good so I guess you can’t have everything.

This Chinese restaurant has good and tasty food. Delicious fried rice, awesome sweet & sour pork, crispy veggies, nice Mongolian beef and really good prawns & seafood must try😁👍. Do not go if you have coeliac. Was NO gluten free food. I got plate of steamed veg, rice and 6 king prawns. Not a single sauce, dressing or suggestion of taste of any sort. Plain boring and expensive. $66 for lunch for one person. I got a plate of steamed veg as well. But how dear!!!!

Ordered salt and pepper calamari, got a plate full of thickly battered calamari with no sauce no salad but a thin bed of carrot. This was $28.50. What a joke! I peeled all the batter off and ate only calamari. The photo is what my plate looked like after I finished eating.

Not recommended - large portions of not good '70s version chinese/Australian food served in an old pub on plastic plates. Food = disgraceful, horrible - Service = not present. First 1/2 hour was listening to some drunk on the phone using obscene language to his mate, but they still served his alcohol to take away. Wine selection not available - what you can get is over priced crap. DO NOT GO HERE. Not good. This place is a disgrace.

the food was OK, the service was ordinary. we arrived and stood at the door for 10mins before walking to the bar and being asked “takeaway” When we were eventually shown to a table, we were not allowed to sit at a clean table, the lady had to clear and clean a table for us. 5mins after being seated we were given a menu and asked if we would like a drink, we said “yes please” and the lady walked off and spent most of the time talking to people on the table beside us After another 10mins the lady came over and asked if we wanted something to drink “we asked for a jug of pink lemonade” and she said “raspberry, same thing …” and 10mins later after chatting to the table beside us again she brought back a jug of Kirk’s Creaming Soda After 10mins the lady came back and asked “what do you want?” … we gave our entrees and almost finished our main - one of them being chicken with oyster sauce and vegetables - when the phone rang and the lady left the table, took the phone call - then didn’t return By this stage, another couple had walked up to the bar and asked for more drinks and she was on for a chat - all part of customer service, I get that but not when you haven’t finished taking our order or at least “train” someone else to answer phones or take orders at the bar After she had finished telling the couple the history of Moscato, she asked us “did you want to add to your order?” when we said “you didn’t finish taking the order” she seemed surprised Our meals came quick as lightning which was great considering we had been there for the best part of an hour at this stage. When we first arrived the venue was ½ full, by the time we got our meal we were the second last table there - the first was the table the lady spent most of her time at When our mains were brought out, it was apparent that the chicken and vegetables was missing oyster sauce to which we were given a blank stare And to top things off, no chopsticks either … Rather annoyed with the whole experience to be honest

Wonderful little restaurant, lovely friendly staff. They let us sit down and order even though it was 15-20 mins till closing and we had just arrived to town. Lovely food with handmade spring rolls. Very child friendly. Thank you for filling our bellies and looking after us so well after our long journey.

Food rice and duck cold. Was told that is how they serve it, heated it in a microwave. Restaurant empty and we were seated where take away customers congregated. After entres, We moved ourselves to another table. High pitched phone ringing for takeaway orders, staff left us half way through taking our order to take another phone call. Very expensive for a substandard meal. Don't waste your time or money. Go to The silver City Chinese, the food, service and atmosphere there is great. We try Chinese in every town we visit and the Golden Lotus is by and far the worst.

The most rudest staff we have ever come across in a restaurant. The 'owner' was very friendly with people she knew and the regulars but completely the opposite with travellers. Asked if we had booked- restaurant was empty although she continued to tell us they were very busy. Yes we understand that they had a lot of takeaways. Gave us 1 menu, had to ask for another menu and literally told to hurry up and order. Food was average, not the best chinese we have had. $10 corkage for wine, which is fine with us but she continued to tell us they were licenced but the cheapest wine was $39 bottle. Not a lot of options to go elsewhere so I think they have the monopoly, could use a lesson in customer service.

This place had delicious old style Chinese food. Awesome spring rolls; crispy and tasty, delicious duck very tender, sweet & sour pork is nice, beef & veg good, curry chicken the best and combination seafood fresh & amazing. Overall all lovely and great fried rice. Nice drinks, also good & hot Chinese tea👍. Great atmosphere, comfortable sitting, friendly staff and alright service needs improvement, thanks guys😁👍. Nice coffee very friendly service, and lovely snacks (recommend the ham & cheese on turkish bread). The owner let us in five minutes before their stated opening time on Saturday morning, which was nice of them (no chance of that happening in a capital city!) Recommended.

This place has the best steak sandwiches down town, awesome tasty veg quiche, great fisherman’s basket, nice coffee and delicious pastries😁👌. We were in Broken Hill for the 2025 Mystery Box Rally. Customer service was great, the ladies really made you feel welcome. The food was quick & delicious!

Ww didn't eat but enjoyed tea and coffee here. The staff are just delightful. The menu boards are colourful and the dishes on offer look like great home made stuff. My husband says his coffee was hot and excellent quality and I was chuffed to receive Noritake fine china in which ti enjoy my tea. A great spot to relax with a culpa.

Good proper coffee. I had poached eggs on toast. My husband had scrambled. Both tasty. Prices are reasonable, service quick. There’s parking front . No need to book. There’s sandwiches, cakes, slices and other homemade dishes available.

I stumbled across Charlotte’s for Brekky & the food is a WOW factor. Went back this morn for 2nd lot of chicken/vegie soup & will be back tomorrow before leaving B/H. Wife had a steak sandwich which was perfect. Owner Jenny is an awesome host. Highly recommended!

Charlotte is fictitious but the blond lady serving was wonderful, kind and warm. Thoroughly enjoyed her service. Dad and I shared a big breakfast and my sister got the spaghetti on toast. Filling and yummy.

The chips use to be great but when i visited recently they tasted horrible, half of them were recooked and i honestly had to chuck them out.

For a shop that was once the pinnacle of gastronomy experiences in Broken Hill (according to locals), they frankly delivered a very average experience. At the time I went for a weekday lunch, they were completely overwhelmed with about 15 customers all arriving at once. My order for 7 people was muddled up and I didn't quick get what I wanted, but that didn't bother me. Food review- The roast chicken itself was comparable to a coles chicken, and maybe a touch better with the seasoning on the skin, but not worth the wait time difference. The soggy chips had decent chicken salt, and was probably the saving grace of the meal. Personally I wouldn't recommend this place or go there again. Surprisingly, I just uploaded the first photo ever of the menu which I couldn't find anywhere online. Hopefully it helps others.

* NOT WORTH CROSSING THE ROAD FOR * Rags has really flown the coop. The vibe is off, it is tense and oddly quiet in there. The place is filthy and the service is lackluster. Staff seem to be under duress. Constantly running out of hot chickens at peak time and refuse to cook more. A chicken shop that is run out of chicken at 6pm on a Friday night, that's a clucking joke. The size of the whole chook is dismal and the prices are out of control. Sad to see a Broken Hill institution going from top of the pecking order to barely scratching by.

Lived in broken hill my whole life and I have never had such an experience at rags! The service from a young man with red hair treated me and my partner with utter disrespect!! We ordered 2 of 2 fillet hot packs and we waited over one hour and there was only one other person in the shop! The chips were undercooked and gravy was like water and when we asked why is it taking so long he said they forgot about us and never even apologised! Such a disgrace from when this shop used to be so good and now it will have to be one of the worst food places in the town!

Must be new owners because the quality has dropped and the prices have doubled. Chips cooked while waiting and still raw inside. Gravy just tastes like gravox. $23.50 will be the last bit we spend there.

Walked in and I asked the lady that was about to serve me "how are you". She didn't respond at all and had a sour look on her face the whole time bad customer service each an every time no one smiles in there!

Appeared very unclean the food preparation area. Only 1 staff member serving only white rolls and wholemeal rolls. Time visited 5.30pm Friday thankful only 2 x 6 inch subs were ordered. Disappointed. I understood rolls should be fresh also

I have been eating Subway for 25 years, and have not ONCE been dissatisfied with the food or service; until today. Subway Broken Hill should have all of their Subway corporate branding stripped. It's run like an outback truckstop employing untrained children. Lazy, slow, service. No acknowledgement of customers waiting, in spite of having only 2 customers. The footlong that cost me over $15, was hopelessly oversalted and inedible. This venue will destroy your reputation. Without Subway branding, it wouldn't last a week. I quite seriously want my money back.

There are few worse things than being hungry in the middle of the desert, however one of those things is eating here. From the stroppy 'I'm doing you a favour' employee on the counter taking orders, to fact you need a second mortgage to fund your purchase of 4th rate food, nothing was good about my experience. The fried rice was boiled rice with random food items added, and nothing says care like 'aldente' rice served cold. It was so terrible it all went into the bin, and I'm sure I heard the bin complaining about it. After 10 years in the infantry, I thought id eaten some low quality food, but this certainly took me back and gave me all the PTSD's. My combination omellete was a combination of charcoal and burnt egg. It was so badly burned, the decision was made to give it the 'last rites', morphine and make it comfortable and let it go quietly into that good night. It followed the aldente rice into the bin, which I'm sure I heard gag. To be blunt, paying to eat this low quality food was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in the past 10 years, and I've eaten at some low standard places. Do yourself a favour and don't eat here, there are a number of better locations in Broken Hill, like for instance, the Salvation Army soup kitchen. Avoid at all costs.

Now Chinese and delicious food. One of the wait staff is extremely rude and has a lot to learn about being polite and the service to customers. If you can ignore her rudeness then the food is worth a visit.

Very enjoyable flavoursome meals with large serves. Would highly recommend. The staff were polite and happy.

Service was prompt, food came really quickly despite a consistent takeaway queue. Food was tasty and servings were generous.

Good food and friendly staff and handy to the motel next door.

A very high standard restaurant

KFC was a weekly treat for myself some years ago, however the past 3 years this KFC has been more of a miss than a hit! I always order a “Zinger Stacker” no supercharge but add pepper mayo. They always get it wrong, no big deal I call up or take it back and they usually fix it. Today I checked the burger before I left the store and it was wrong. I informed the young lad. He snapped at me saying “you said no sauce, what do you want” I said I want what I ordered. He informed the burger guy & proceeded to snatch the burger back. He then covered the burger all over with chilli sauce. I Call the manger he says sorry we will replace. I only eat the zingers now because their chicken is usually burnt looking and tasting. Would just stop going but who doesn’t love KFC? The burger guy with long black hair should be re-trained on how to squeeze sauce on a burger.

It has been a while since last going to a KFC, and I don't think will ever go back. The menu boards are so confusing & ordering items individually cost me about $10 more than a set pack. Coleslaw still tastes the same but the rest of food really has lost its flavour. Potato & gravy is some sort of white powdered goop not even tasting like Potato. Fast food not good food.

Broken Hill, Broken Promises. Went there Sunday at opening, “youse have no chance of chicken for at least 30 minutes, only got chips & nuggets”. Thanks for nothing. Old mate Colonel Sanders would probable expect that the cleaners had finished by opening time. Probably expect to have some hot chicken ready with those lovely herbs and spices. Not here though.

I’m so sick of this store every time I go there I get served a dogs breakfast it’s an absolute disgrace it’s got to be the worst store in Australia and this time I’m making sure that head office nsw takes action enough is enough pure garbage 😡

Drive threw order was wrong was assured it was correct has happened on multiple occasions, always mistakes. and was sick and diarrhoea last two times I ate there food was edible today but order was wrong and charged for a meal* full price missing sides, KFC broken hill has no standards.

They rarely get my order correct. I don’t know how a zinger stacker box turns into a crappy bacon zinger burger.

Incredibly slow service through the drive-through, adding 20 minutes to our trip.

Good was delicious and customer service was wonderful. Beau was super helpful in letting us know our food options and assisting in what we were after. After several hours driving it was just what we needed. Thank you again!

Who would have thought that you could get a decent cafe style breakfast in remote outback NSW. This little cafe is open everyday of week and churning out great liquid black gold and delicious meals. There is plenty of seating indoors or if it’s not too hot outside grab a chair on the curb side settings. The staff are super friendly and accomodating. The eggs benny is delicious and the serving sizes and price on point. Grab one of their freshly squeezed juice combinations, they don’t disappoint.

Perfect place for a lovely Sunday breakfast. Weather on the go or eating in the food is just what you need to start a day in Broken Hill. Cinnamon waffles we're my favourite with friends indulging in breakfast burger, plates were clean when we left.

A small little cafe serving gourmet food out in the middle of nowhere. Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon with a latte was as good as I have had in Sydney. Would easily eat here again.

Good coffee, nice meals-poached egg overcooked, friendly service. Forgot one of our coffees but promptly made it and apologised. Fresh juices really nice! Would go again.

A lovely little cafe. The food is excellent and very reasonable and they are open until 4pm, such a rarity in this area! The waitress was very helpful and the food arrived quickly.

The pictures are the thin n crispy margarita pizza we ordered tonight. It’s burnt and got pineapple on it. The chicken tenders were small and dry, the peri peri chicken pizza barely had any chicken. TBH, this’s not the first time we order thin n crispy pizza from the store but the lady on phone told us it is supposed to be like that because it is “thin and crispy”. She also told us we need to keep the pizza as is if we wanna replace it even we didn’t request a replacement. The lady was pretty rude and said she could see my partner’s account only ordered twice from the store. But if you could look up my name in your system, you should be able to see we have ordered plenty of times. We don’t want to replace the pizzas because we were so hungry and inhaled them. We just want a sincere apology for the money we spent on these burnt and low quality pizzas, and now also the attitude and rudeness from the lady who answered the phone.

Purchased a meal deal from Domino's Broken Hill. Pizzas were not cooked properly and were doughy in the centre. There was a small sharp foreign body on one of the pizzas that pierced my tongue whilst chewing. Contacted the store who promised a full refund. It's nearly a week later and they still haven't refunded our money. We will never buy from this store again nor will we recommend it to others. Very, very poor customer service resolution.

Burnt Pizza and Rude manager I ordered Pizza for delivery about 2 weeks ago. It was one of the meal deals so 2 medium pizzas and 2 sides (chicken bites and a bottle of soft drink). The Pizza took over an hour to arrive and when it did it was burnt to a crisp. I rang the store to see if I could get it remade, I even offered to go pick up the pizzas so I wouldn't be waiting so long for the replacements. The manager said that their oven was broken and that any replacements would be just as bad. She said the only thing she could do was offer a refund. She got me to text them a picture of the pizza and sent the delivery driver back to pick up the food which we gave back to them. This was a disappointing response but would have been fine if that's where it ended. About 20 minutes after the driver picked up all of the food I got another phone call from the store. It was the same manager giving out to me because we had eaten a couple of the chicken bites side. She said that I had lied to her, broken Australian law by obtaining a refund under false pretences and that we are now blacklisted from ever ordering Dominos again. Bear in mind that at no time during the first phone call had she asked if we had eaten any of the food and offering the refund was her suggestion. When I attempted to respond she hung up on me while I was talking which I think is the height of rudeness. The following day I rang the store to speak to the Store Manager or Owner about this but found it very hard to get in contact with them. Eventually after 5 days, 4 phone calls and 2 requests to have them contact me when it's convenient for them I eventually got talking to the Store Manager. I explained what had happened and he did say that was awful and confirmed that being blacklisted was a lie, the manager doesn't have the power to do that. I requested an apology and he said he would look into it and get back to me. That was over a week ago so I guess that's not happening either. Nothing much more I can do except tell people I guess.

Couldn't remove an item from a pizza, so had to order another pizza for another $27.00 on top of a $60.00 order. The person on the phone could not care less, just wanted to make more money. Then when the order finally arrived the extra pizza wasn't even there, so I had to wait even longer.(About another 25 minutes for it to finally arrive.) So I will be defiently be ordering elsewhere the next time I have pizza!

Placed a phone order for delivery this afternoon; the lady answering did not speak English well but, the order was taken and I was told there is a 40-50 minutes wait. After 90 minutes I called again to enquire. They did not have my order. No apology or offer of a solution... Not impressed!

Quite tasty burgers, but the buns leave a lot to be desired. Too big and need to be toasted. Chips a 4 out of 5 Friendly young fellow at the counter, but some clean fresh clothes would be more appealing. The building looks a bit tired inside.

Great place, food serving size was big and tasted amazing. Glad we stopped in for food. Price was reasonable aswell. For 2 snitty snack packs and kids burger meal $34 which included drinks.

Man oh man, most delicious chicken nuggets since landing in Australia, 3 years ago. Real chicken and doesn’t even need sauce - chicken salt will do! Cooked to perfection! Worth the stop on your long drive. Burgers are also delicious. Not too much salad and no lamb fat taste in the beef - YUM!

This place has good burgers, I had the outback burger it was delicious, fresh ingredients, crispy crumbled chicken, big soft buns and some nice flavours, needs more sauce, but the chips are bad. It was actually pretty good food and being placed near Hungry Jacks made me wonder how they survive. But their food and service speaks volumes for this place with original burgers and a varied selection. One star less as the building needs a good paint job and makeover I reckon.

Based on word-of-mouth in town, I was keen to try this place out and initially planned to try a few different burgers to get a sense of how good they were. Stopped after the first one. Basic, undersized except for the bun which was massive, and the patty tasted liked a cheap supermarket pack patty someone threw in a frying pan.

Surprisingly good. Chips were lovely and the fish good. I gave 4 stars because Hocko's has some very stiff competition with Chantry Fish Shop but that's too far to go now. I'll try the burgers next time.

Stunning array of pizzas. Very unique flavour combos. Had the cauliflower and beetroot one and was amazing flavour. Maybe a bit too much cheese for my liking and bit on the pricy side but loved every bite

Slight reduction due to incorrect pizza size given. I ordered a family Italiano supreme. Noticed other people's orders coming in 15" boxes but mine appeared one size down even though I paid for family. Garlic bread was just ok. Friendly service and lots of customers coming in and out. Oh well. Enjoyed the pasito!

This is a small pizza place adjacent the Astra hotel. We were advised by someone we met to not go here. So of course we had to try it. I have to say my pizza shop in Victoria is the best in the world, to me. This pizza however is fantastic. It was very tasty and crispy and delicious. The place was really busy yet the service was still great. There a very few tables inside and a few outside. If ever here again I will visit. Highly recomend for a cheaper meal considering how everything else is so expensive.

Was a bit spooked by some reviews, but my pepperoni pizza was delicious, crunchy base, generous amounts of pepperoni and the addition of onions was great (I removed the olives), regular size was perfect for one, good value price, and delivered in the timeframe they stated. I’ve eaten a LOT of pizzas in many towns and cities, this one rates very highly!

Family size pizza with all bar 3 toppings, double toppings, double sauce base, 1 garlic bread, delivered for under $58 BEAUTIFUL!!!! Better than domino's by far.

We ordered the pizzas to be delivered, we got told it would be just over an hour and it was, so was nice for the warning. The pizzas were hot and juicy. The family size is HUGE and absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend as they are NOT stingy with their toppings!

Recommended by locals. Eye fillet Cooked to perfection. Good service. I had the duck. Quite disappointed. The beef was more tender. Overcooked, not Asian style, heaps of fresh produce on both plates. I would return if only for the beef.

My wife had Mango drissled chicken, dry as a leather boot. I chose Duck but should have read the reviews before hand, minuscule serving, tough as and undercooked and that’s not easy to do. No attention from staff. Avoid at all cost.

Good food, slow service and each time I have eaten there there has only been one sitting in restaurant. Each time there had been 2 large tables . last time we asked for coffee only to be told the urn had been turned off about an hour before. This was about 2200. Would eat there again and advise others to eat there as well but they need to book early in evening.

As usual and amazing meal and great prices.....definitely a great option to go out for a meal.

Great old corner pub with the most pleasant lady behind the bar.... There was a local musician playing guitar, and a few workers enjoying a nice cold beer... Food smelt good but I didn't stay for a meal. Pop in for a look.

Amazing staff and management. Food was great and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was well looked after. Will definetly be coming here again. Don't find places like this too often.

What a gem this place was. Friendly staff, timely service and food was delicious I had creamy garlic prawn risotto and it could not be faulted. My friend had lamb shanks on mash with broccolini. Serves were generous. Menu had lots of offer and there were great special options.Prices were also realistic.

This cafe has changed hands a few times over the years with varying quality. It's currently quite good. It always looks very clean, usually good service. Coffee is a 3/5. Decent food. This is probably the best sit down lunch for 1 block in any direction from the post office.

We had very tasty and large lamb kebabs (almost a "footlong") in nice soft flatbread, fresh salad, with friendly service and a very clean fresh shop. Chips were as everyone has reviewed - so crispy!!

I always come here when I visit Broken Hill. Great kebab, and they're always so friendly. Love it!

Excellent food, made to perfection, we ordered 2 x kebab and hot chips. Service was fast and friendly, chips were chrispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. All the kebab ingredients was fresh and tasted great.

Had a late pizza when working in broken hill, they dont take cards, which is fine, I try not to judge too harsh having worked at a pizza shop years ago and it being a personal favorite but if I had to comment, the base was a little too dense and thick, and bit too much cheese on chicken half. Price $28 for half/half Large... undecided on value, I mean, it is in a town hours from anywhere, this said i would prob go again but ask for base to be thinner and less cheese, then it would be great.

Customer service is shocking. Rarely even answer the phone when you call. Stingy on the toppings. Very disappointed. Once was my go to place for pizza.

I will never buy this pizza again it was awful and it was burnt and the base didn't taste like a pizza base it tasted like burnt flour and water

Decent, yet disappointed with the flavours and mix-up with my order. Got a weak curry pork with cabbage instead of the satay chicken with noodles. The beef had chicken and noodles in it with chilli pepper the main flavour. Liked the range of vegetables, although I'm not keen on lots of cabbage and cauliflower. It was hot and seemed fresh, even if done in the style where they beat bite-sized meat pieces and sprinkled with bicarb to soften them so it all tastes generic. Good location next to Coles so I could shop whilst the meal was prepared. I regret buying this food for dinner.

This place needs improvement, very average food here. This noodle and sushi shop in Argent st back in the days around 2011+ was so good and delicious, they had the best noodle dishes, sushi and more, I would eat here 2 - 3 times a week, but now since 2022+ it has poor quality food & ingredients and flavours, I hope one soon they will make changes to meet the Malaysian authentic high quality food and standards. The seafood laksa is average but ok, could be better. The pad Thai is not that good, using artificial sauces and sweeteners for flavour is lazy cooking but ok. The sushi I would never eat here again so much rice and hardly no meat and veg, the rice is thick and dry. The only decent thing on the menu is the chicken satay noodle dish. Thanks for your service guys😁✌️but please try to understand me, and go back to the roots of your culture cooking real food as we once known it to be, delicious. Very friendly, tasty food. My first experience buying satay chicken there and although it was very tasty, the sauce was very thin. This might be my ignorance of Malaysian style satay. I have only had satay that is thick and creamy before. Portion sizes are great 👍 I'm glad they have gone back to buying bowl style containers. I hate the rectangular plastic containers. I do miss the old style foldable cardboard style that opens into a bowl. But only thicker style sauce noodles are suitable for that type of container, so I understand why these are not used. They take both card and cash, which is great. They also have a great variety of options on the menu. I don't think they have a delivery service though. A suggestion would be to add Korean style delivery bikes. That would be amazing!

We purchased 3 meals, 2 were pretty inedible, 1 was binned, the 3rd nasi goreng was good, but no egg.

Actually good. The guy barely speaks English and insisted on cash (but does actually have eftpos) so seems quite authentic. The genuine dishes are really good. If you order a westernised dish you may be disappointed.

Unfortunately not much flavour and expensive at $17.90 for a lunch time stir fry.

Despite the negative reviews I decided to give it a go. As I first walked in I didn't even think they were open as boxes were everywhere, no overheard menu. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who showed me where the menus were, and that's about as positive as the experience got. I ordered a few things and they were all tasteless the satay chicken was dry and tiny portions, Mee goreng tasted watery almost like it was pre cooked and no flavour the steamed dim sum was okay but after paying for it all I was pretty disappointed that only the dim sum was worth eating. Give it a miss folks.

New owners and staff have made huge improvements! Fantastic customer service, improved wait times, quality and quantity of food, and are always happy to make your food the way you like it! Cannot recommend more, BEST burgers in town by far!

Best Fish and Chips / Hamburgers (exactly how we like them} this side of the black stump. Norton might be better off going to McDonalds and paying $20 for his serve. Big serves and cheap prices with friendly service. Happy to recommend, R & V Cowell.

Best fish n chip shop I've been to in years, the staff are so friendly and the food was delicious, I'll be going back for sure, also has a real classic fish shop feel to it, definitely recommend

One of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to, I rated the atmosphere 3 because they are working out of a cafe at night but other than that it is a winner. Great service and amazing Mexican food all at a fair price

Unfortunately I possibly ordered wrong but the prawn pad thai was like a soup bowl. The salt and pepper squid was all oily batter.. not sure how one gets so much batter on a small piece of squid. The sushi rolls were freshly made and was quite good though.

Is okay. Sometimes they forget to put the sauces on. I also found a chef going back to cook after a cigarette and not washing his hands! Would rate higher if these things didn't happen! Last weekend, my Oyster sauce was forgotten for the third time. I only realised when I got home. When I went back and told them, they were very defensive and told me I was wrong. I just ended the discussion there and then. Sorry about their attitude. I am a very regular customer too!

Delicious Thai/Malay food. Fast service and friendly staff. If I visit Broken Hill again, this will be my go to place. The prices are moderate to high for me as the same prices are in Sydney’s good dine in restaurants. The food is really good and don’t mind paying that for good food.

Good Asian food. Not too expensive. My only problem was that I saw one of the cooks return from a cigarette break and began cooking again after smoking 🚬 and not wash his hands! 😐 otherwise I would have rated them a four.

Food is watery. Ordered stir fry beef and a mee goreng noodle. Both were watery. Beef dish didn’t have much meat, half of it was a some kind of sauce (which is very watery and sweet). Noodle was bit soggy and unappetising. Can’t say food tasted good at all.
