Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Sky Tower is a 60-storey landmark in Auckland, New Zealand, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city. It stands at 328 meters high, making it the tallest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Visitors can reach the observation deck via a glass elevator and capture stunning city panoramas that extend up to 80 kilometers on clear days.
Went here with my family for dinner, the view is amazing! The tower actually rotates slowly as you eat so you get to see the full 360° view of Auckland. No wonder it's called 360° orbit! The food is also quite good, it was a 3 course meal and there was quite a few options for appetizers, main and dessert. Their drinks is good too, they have many different cocktail to try and a special few for each month! For appetizers, i chose the salmon, my mother choose the king prawns and my father chose the lamb. For main course, i chose the snapper fish and parents also chose the snapper as they can't eat beef. For desserts, i chose the blueberry crumble, my mother chose the chocolate mouse and my father chose the mango mandarin Overall, it was such a good experience to be able to see the sky slowly turn dark as we eat and see across the whole of Auckland. We spotted the bridge across the sea as well as many other different buildings. Highly recommend if you're into fine dinning and beautiful views!!

Had a great time up here. Price was a little steep for what it is but we had a good time nonetheless the less. Some fantastic views across the city and had the weather been nicer I can imagine some of the views would have been majestic. Elevator takes you up to the 51st floor and then another elevator takes you up a further 9 floors. All in all, worth a visit for an hour.

Sky Tower (part of the SkyCity Auckland complex) • Height: 328 metres from ground level to the top of the mast. • Location: Corner of Victoria Street West & Federal Street, Auckland CBD. • Opened: 1997. ⸻ What You Can Do / See • Observation Decks: There are multiple levels you can go up to for views. You can see up to ~ 80 km in good weather, including volcanoes, harbour, city skyline etc. • Orbit 360° Dining Restaurant: A revolving restaurant located near the top — dining with panoramic views as the restaurant rotates. • SkyBar: A bar high up in the tower with expansive views. • SkyWalk & SkyJump: • SkyWalk — walk around the exterior of the tower at height, harnessed. • SkyJump — a controlled “jump”/plunge off the tower from a height (for the thrill-seekers). • Gift shop, cafes, and casual dining, including Sky Cafe. ⸻ Structure & Design • Built with high-performance reinforced concrete shaft (about 12m diameter) with support from piles, and with a steel mast at top. • It’s designed for safety: wind resistance (can sway in strong winds), seismic design to withstand significant earthquakes, fire safety features, etc. ⸻ Hours & Tickets • Opening hours: The Sky Tower is open daily, from morning (around 9:30 am) until evening/night (hours depend on the day & season). • Last entry times vary with season. • Admission fees: There is an entry fee for the observation decks. The cost depends on which deck, whether you want to add things like SkyWalk or SkyJump. • Booking: Better to buy tickets in advance online to secure times and sometimes get discounts. ⸻ Why It’s Worth Visiting • It’s an iconic Auckland landmark — visible from many parts of the city, a symbol of Auckland. • Unmatched 360-degree views of the city, harbour, islands, volcano cones etc. • Combination of experiences: you can just enjoy the view, or add excitement with SkyJump / SkyWalk, or dining high up. Gives options depending on how adventurous or relaxed you’re feeling. • Great at sunset or at night for city lights.

In cities that have a big tower like this it's almost always worthwhile to go up and check out the view. This tower has two levels of observation and one level for dining and bungee jumping. There may be other levels but there were some renovations happening at the time of writing. I'm sure this could be made into a much bigger activity by dining here during the sunset or jumping off (a desire I'll never understand) but just as a casual place to spend some time between outings in Auckland it's pretty great.
CSchady89 — Google review
Visited the Sky Tower in the evening. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on my side so I missed the sunset, which would have made the view much more stunning. Still, the city lights from above were quite nice, and it’s definitely worth the experience if you’re in Auckland. The staff were helpful and everything was well-organized. Even though the view wasn’t at its best due to the weather, I can see how on a clear day it would be amazing.

If you come to Auckland, DO NOT MISS THE SKY TOWER!!! Yep, both my wife and I enjoyed our time looking at the majestic views and taking photos. Seeing Auckland from this vantage point was a great way to see the city. Plan your visit for a clear day to maximize your viewing pleasure.
Keith K — Google review
Went up the Sky Tower three times in Oct-25 - once to view, once to do the Sky Walk and once for dinner in the revolving restaurant. All three experiences were fantastic, and I enjoyed sitting in the lounge with a beer looking out as far as the eye can see. Paying for the Sky Walk gets you a free observation ticket, saving you around $40. Easily the best attraction in Auckland.
Adam B — Google review
Very good 360 views from 3 observation decks in the heart of Auckland. Usual stuff of a pricey fake photo, overpriced drinks etc but if you forget all that and admire the views you’ll have a decent hour or so. If you are lucky you might catch some people doing the sky jump off of the side.

Hotel
Casino
SkyCity Auckland is a popular destination in New Zealand, featuring a casino with over 100 table games, upscale restaurants, and hotels. The highlight of this place is the iconic Sky Tower, which stands as the tallest structure in the country at over 325 meters. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of Auckland's landmarks from the upper floors of The Pinnacle Tower hotel. Additionally, there are various attractions nearby such as Weta Workshop Unleashed and the All Blacks Experience for rugby enthusiasts.
A vibrant and entertaining experience in the heart of Auckland! SkyCity Auckland is a fantastic place to visit if you're looking for a mix of dining, entertainment, and breathtaking views. The Sky Tower is a must-see, especially at sunset—absolutely stunning! We dined at one of the restaurants inside (highly recommend Orbit 360°) and loved both the food and the unique revolving view. The casino was lively, and the atmosphere overall felt safe and welcoming. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and well-located. Staff were polite and helpful, though check-in took a little longer than expected. Parking was slightly confusing but manageable. Overall, a great spot for a fun night out or a special weekend in Auckland. Would definitely return!

Stayed here with 2 friends. Liked our room but beds were uncomfortable. Talk to reception and got moved to a new room with way more comfortable beds. But downside there was a door that connected to next door room and they had kids that keep trying to open it.
Tangaroa K — Google review
Handy spot for where we needed to be. Rooms a great size and very comfortable. Only down side was the fact that reception staff seems lacking in knowledge regarding a request on my booking. Supervisor wasn't helpful even after spending 2 days trying to rectify the issue. Ruined our trip and won't be staying there again. Casino staff upstairs and the housekeeping staff very helpful. Front of desk needs some work. Can only suggest if you have an agreed promotion that you check it will be adhered to.

Fantastic hotel. Location is perfect to restaurants, shops and had a casino inside it. Breakfast is very good with a wide variety. Easy walk to the harbor. Gym has a great lap pool
Dawn C — Google review
The venue was a nightmare to navigate. Way too many people and trying to get in and out of lifts was awful. Couldn't get food as it was packed. The food at the theatre was disgusting. Trying to get to the theatre was difficult. Trying to get out of the carpark was insane. Fir an international venue, I was embarrassed. Kids should not be able to view the casino when going to a show and you shoukd be able to easily get to the level where the food is - apparently not. Nightmare evening
Alison P — Google review
A real kick in the guts hiring a hotel in the city then being told im "swaying" when im stone cold sober. I understand not letting drunk people in but maybe you should explain to the cult on the door last night what sober people look like. no wonder the world's turning to online gambling lol
Jarrod S — Google review
LOVE the cheeseburger, the robot is a cool gimmick. QR code ordering is lame, make sure to go to the counter and use your show by skycity card for a discount! Interestingly, 2 beers were the same price as a jug!

Mum and I stay here whenever we are in Auckland we love it. Breakfast buffet is next level. Once they upgraded us and that was incredible staff are great

City park
Albert Park, located in the heart of Auckland, is a historically significant green space adorned with lush trees, vibrant flowerbeds, and a striking Victorian fountain. The park also features an array of statues and small attractions such as Albert Park House, which houses an eclectic collection of ceramics and clocks. Visitors can also admire the floral clock at the park's entrance and explore the city's Meteorological Observatory.
We visited very early on a Sunday morning when everything and everyone was still and peaceful. Beautiful gardens and stairways with manicured lawns. Plenty of bench seats to sit on as you take in the surrounding city scenery. A very scenic spot to enjoy the serenity

Beautiful park near AUT campus - in Auckland CBD. Locals completing their morning yoga practice, benches occupied by some couples and families and the fountain happily splashing away while students make their way through to get to town or other places on campus. Very well maintained, dotted with several statues nodding to significant people in New Zealand's history. Weather will play a part in your experience of this park- plan accordingly. Smiles all the way!

So beautiful park to walk, spend the afternoon, read, or take a look of the city. It has several historical monuments along the path. A nice fountain and it’s always clean. Its amazing gardens are full of flowers and green grass. In the background, you can see the Auckland buildings or the university on the other side. Wherever you sit, you’ll have a beautiful and different view. The bandstand is another highlight, and also the old trees. So many birds also. Highly recommended to walk around and enjoy its peace and freshness.

It's a lovely park with plenty of space to walk and take a break from the busy surrounding streets. There are many trees and flowers that make for a relaxing atmosphere and make the cityscape more beautiful. It's worth noting that the entrances to this park from Queens Street are very steep. Overall, it's a lovely location.

An oasis on peace and quietness. Went there on a full on day tip to Auckland and since i had a book i stopped to read for a while. Ended up seeing so many cute couples and people just chilling, reading and relaxing and ended up doing some friends with travellers that were around.

A beautiful and spacious park in Auckland. A lovely place to relax. The park is located opposite the University of Auckland. I love the presence of ancient trees.

Best for hanging out between class schedule, many statues and a fountain in the centre. You can also see sky tower clearly from some spots.
