The Parasol and Swing Company is a trendy tiki-inspired spot located in the heart of Viaduct. It offers a modern take on South Pacific kitsch with an extensive rum selection and exceptional service. The venue boasts stunning views of luxury boats, along with a nostalgic entrance and extravagant cocktail presentations. Notable drinks include the signature Pornstar Spritz and a variety of mocktails. The menu features innovative light bites, burgers, tacos, salads, and legendary jalapeno poppers.
This place was good. It was one we included as a quick stop for a drink and small bite. So glad we did. Mushroom cocktail was good. 10 dollar bo buns was such a great deal and taste great. Service was fantastic. We will go back next time we are eating and drinking at the via duct.

We had a great experience here with the cocktails and service. Our group of 20+ came in for a Friday afternoon booking and casual drinks with mixed seating/standing and everything ran smoothly (we stayed for hours). We were served mainly by Luke who was incredibly friendly, taking orders and payment, bringing out the orders, keeping everything tidy etc. While we mostly stuck to drinks, we did share some fries, jalapeño poppers, and fried chicken which were all great to nibble on. Stress free experience for a corporate leaving-do and would definitely come back again.

Came in early and was allowed to sit down and relax before ordering, beautiful assortment of drinks available and the food was lovely. Food is priced very well and the location is just perfect. Our server was very welcoming and tended to our needs. Food came out pretty quickly and was lovely and warm. Definitely worth coming back !

Great rooftop bar for happy hour. Smash burger is perfect! Good drink specials, snappy, friendly service and tremendous views. Check it out!

What a night at Parasol & Swing! The cocktails were next-level—creative, delicious, and beautifully crafted. The vibe was on point with a great crowd and an incredible live DJ who kept the energy high all night. We had a fantastic time sipping on their signature drinks and then dancing it all off. Such a fun, classy spot for a night out in the Viaduct. Can’t wait to go back! The crew was awesome.

Bar Albert is Auckland's newest rooftop bar, located on the 38th floor of the voco Auckland City Centre hotel. The service is exceptional, with friendly staff who provide efficient and attentive service.
Bar Albert is a stunning rooftop gem with unbeatable views of the city, Sky Tower and a front-row seat to the sunset. The cocktail menu is creative and well-curated. It a great spot to unwind with friends over drinks. It is a popular place, so expect a bit of a crowd. Staff were friendly and attentive which made the experience even better. A must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy Auckland from above.

Drinks are super expensive but the view and interior make up for it! Make sure to check out the bathroom with a view as well! Nice to see some Auckland themed drinks too, good quality alcohol used for the cocktails, presentation and service were good too

Did not have any food. Had a couple of drinks. Really enjoyed the stunning views of Auckland, and the staff are amazing such a good team. The decor is really nice and well don't but I couldn't help but feel like something was missing. Just that little shaaazing or magic touch to really make the space that something special.
Aaron G — Google review
We visited Bar Albert on a Friday night. The cocktails were great, and the bar snacks were delicious. The views are incredible, and the decor is awesome. The staff were friendly too, which is always a bonus. The only downsides were the service. We got water when we arrived, but then no top-ups after that. At one point, we even had to go to the bar to order another cocktail, even though it wasn't busy. Overall, it's worth checking out for the drinks, food, and amazing views, just be prepared that the service might be a bit of a mixed bag.

Beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the twinkling lights of the city. There is no seat without a view. Thoughtfully planned space, with cosy nooks and standout views of the city. Cocktails and sharing food were great all be the food menu a little limited. We will be back at cocktail hour instead of dinner next time.
Nicole J — Google review
Had an amazing evening at Bar Albert — easily one of the most elegant spots in the city. The atmosphere is intimate yet vibrant, with a perfect skyline view. What made it even better was the warm service — especially the lovely French waitress who was effortlessly charming, attentive, and truly added a touch of Parisian grace to the night. Great cocktails, great vibe, even better company. Highly recommend! 🍸🇫🇷✨

We came here for a quick drink, and it’s on top of a hotel. The view is fantastic, and sitting next to the window looking at the Sky Tower will be amazing. I’m happy with my drink.

Guests have praised the attentive service from staff members like Mr. Dheeraj, known for his friendly demeanor and passion for food recommendations.
Had a 21st birthday dinner with a few friends, perfect restaurant for a high end delicious meal. Great service, amazing food and cocktails. Very tasteful, best ribs I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend The Cut Restaurant & Bar if in price range.

Good food, the mushroom sauce with the beef was very tasty , burgers available for kids. Quiet place. It was a good experience, next to our hotel.
Rava S — Google review
Disappointing variety in a steakhouse that offer no ribeye or other cuts other than pork ribs, filet mignon and sirloin. The lamb rump was not too bad but the worst items were the desserts. The apple crumble and chocolate brownies was supermarket standard. It was empty when ate.
Jeremy C — Google review
Its my first time having a meal here despite numerous times to Rydges hotel. Was strongly recommended to try the steak and chowder here however i thought the steak was ok( nt rlly well marinated) The chowder and agria chips were pretty good though. The staff was nice to change a new chowder for us as we mentioned that the soup had a sour aftertaste. The staff were attentive and polite. A decent place to have your meal for the good vibe :)

Nice food with good atmosphere. A bit pricy but worth it.
Calvin K — Google review
The waiters and waitresses here are always friendly. The food here is generally good except for one time the chicken wings weren't fried well enough but the waitress gladly replaced them. Drinking water available by self service from the bar if you're seated there. If you are seated inside the restaurant, the waiter will serve you water too.
Alex — Google review
To be honest, a little bit disappointed. I made the reservation last Friday and mentioned about it’s for birthday purposes. Today when i arrived 10 minutes before the booking time, the receptionist confirmed with all the info with me, but even though no any greeting to me or someone. I know it’s not necessary to send the greetings, but I will expect to receive that as I’ve already mentioned. It’s about the prospect. For the food, as it’s a famous restaurant for the steak. We both ordered with “ medium rare, and unfortunately it’s Well done when we cut the first cut…… For the service, there are only 4 table from 6:45 to 7:30 pm. The waiter asked us what do we need just 2 minutes when we arrived. And another 2 minutes push us again and made me feel uncomfortable. If he bring some idea to us,or introduce sth to us instead of keep asking is it ready for the order will be much more appropriated. Not really recommending.
Panisy X — Google review
Every time I stay at Rydges, I’m impressed by the service from MR DHEERAJ. He’s always friendly, welcoming, and goes out of his way to recommend good food (and makes a really good coffee too!). You can tell he enjoys his work and has been doing it with passion for years. The restaurant here also serves excellent food — I especially love the steak and fish & chips, always tasty and well-prepared. Highly recommend!

Father Ted's is a great place to go for live music, as it is located in the heart of the city centre. The drinks are good and the atmosphere fun. It's also a great place to meet other young people, as the security is vigilant in ensuring that everyone gets home safe.
This charming Irish pub * Father Ted * boasts a beautifully designed interior that reflects both Irish and British heritage. The menu features a delightful selection of delicious dishes, making it a must-visit destination in the heart of Auckland. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and friendly, ensuring a warm atmosphere for all guests. This pub has great food, all of which was value for money. The tables and chairs were clean. Staff were very welcoming and quick to serve. Around $20 per person for food, $5-$10 for drinks, decent price. Good drinks on tap and more behind the bar. Couldn't ask for more, I'd recommend for a meal or a quick drink.
Mordecai W — Google review
Overall your classic casual Irish pub. Menu is small but isn’t too shabby, however would like more traditional types of meals to be on offer. Food specials change daily which is nice. Staff were lovely. Venue could be spruced up a bit and tables weren’t wiped down from previous patrons. Good range of drinks behind bar and on tap
Sionainne C — Google review
Quintessentially Irish 🇮🇪- even the bar staff 💕 Enjoyed our quick stop before our show at the Civic. Great chips 😎
Nikki B — Google review
Sad excuse for an Irish pub. Really just a thrown-together dive serving Guinness and Kilkenny Red so apparently that allows it to be called an Irish pub. It was decently busy and the reviews seemed okay so we stopped in, might be a haunt for locals though. This place gives people the wrong idea of what an Irish pub is like. Very dirty tables, chairs, and countertops. Our beers were barely cold. The seats in the back corner are torn up and had a swarm of small bugs flying around. Wouldn’t recommend to stop here even for a quick drink. Can’t comment on the food.
J S — Google review
Last time I was here: 17 years ago. Not much changed. First Location I could remember being back in Auckland. Thanks for the memories 😎.
Meike — Google review
Everything a pub should be is encorporated by Father Ted's. There is a solid range of tap beers, ciders and other beverages to satisfy anyones needs. From classics like Heineken and Guinnes to lesser known ciders and APA's. The atmosphere and vibe of the place is also nice and cosy. Not too big, but nice and small. The old bulky wooden furniture solidifies that cosy feeling. It is further amplified by the noises of other people having a drink and a laugh. The bartender is also a nice man who is the type of guy you want standing behind a bar and serving customers. For a pub, the food they serve is also very good. It exceeded my expectations in a pleasant way. I was there on tuesday, steak night, and it did not dissapoint. Great food, great drinks, amazing atmosphere. A nice place to visit if you are around.

Gastropub
Restaurant
The Cav is a popular bar in Ponsonby that has been around since 1866 and has recently undergone an outdoor deck refurbishment. It's known for its friendly atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for city dwellers to unwind after work or on sunny days with their furry friends. The gastropub offers a wide range of classic meals like fish and chips, tacos, naked burritos, and honey-glazed halloumi while also being dog-friendly.
So I booked the outside deck function area for my Mums 80th ... It was a brilliant venue overlooking the city with all the amenities you could want for such an event ... The food was great - the kitchen even baked whole salmon fillets as an extra request ... All the guests were super impressed !! Big thanks to Brittany and Stephen who were in constant contact prior to ensure all went to plan and to Brittany and Emily who did an awesome job looking after us on the day 😀 I can't recommend the Cav and the team enough ! If you are planning a function it ticks all the boxes✅️

Dog-friendly ✨ (Can be a tad friendly from sauced patrons, but pups didn’t mind) Hit or miss with the food, never inedible obvi, but can be… interesting looking. Service always friendly (out of X visits, never got weird). Reckon stick with Kiwi classics, and she’ll be choice as

Would highly recommend this place if you are planning an event. Had great communication prior with Stephen regarding our booking. We celebrated our son's 21st with a family Sunday luncheon. The waiting staff were excellent and nothing was a problem. Had delicious food and drinks. Especially liked the gin tree. All our family(17 of us) enjoyed themselves and we had a memorable occasion. Thanks The Cav for hosting us.

25 of us there for a 60th birthday. Friends from all over the country. Amazing atmosphere. The Staff gave us a nice corner of our own yet we still had a pub atmosphere. We were there from 2 til 10.30 and laughed all day. The food and drinks kept coming and I was surprised how reasonable the final cost was. Great value for money!
Jeff M — Google review
Had a really good scotch here on Monday night, so good that we came back again on Tuesday with 3 friends. Food was spot on both times and the front of house staff were super friendly and welcoming. Everyone had a great time — will definitely be back!
Luke P — Google review
We went there for dinner last night. I ordered the fish & chips, and i did not enjoy it. It was overcooked, salty, and did not taste fresh. The service was good however, and I liked the environment. Good spot for a drink. I will definitely not eat there again.
MAHMM — Google review
We ordered the southern fried chicken dish, onion rings and bbq chicken burger and honestly it was some of the best food we’ve ever had! Will definitely be coming back. The service was great and our food was delivered quickly
Bunny — Google review
This used to be one of my favourite spots to stop in for a Friday lunch. Still has great pints on tap served by one of the best bartenders in NZ, but the food keeps getting worse and more expensive. They used to have beautiful chicken tacos for $19… then the recipe changed, then they pulled them off the menu, now the only tacos are $22 - and only fish tacos which are small and average. The staff are really lovely though and it’s a pleasure to stop in for a pint - they have nice bathrooms and play all the sports without bringing the ‘suited booted lads’ vibes. It’s clean and fresh feeling. Big fan of the Zeffer cider on tap 🍻

Steak house
Wynyard Grill Steakhouse and Wine Lounge is a recent addition to Auckland's dining scene, situated in the Wynyard Quarter. The restaurant is operated by the same team behind Johnny Barrs American Restaurant Bar & Grill, offering a semi-secret yet stylish dining experience.
Gorgeous restaurant with fantastic mood lighting. Service was impeccable from the initial welcome to the food servers. Food – oh my yummy! We had tomatoes and ceviche for starters, then rib eye and ribs for mains with cauliflower for sides. Every dish was delicious and good size! Super enjoyable!
Jerone T — Google review
Good sized portions, for the price point reasonable but could do with a bit of refinement. The bone marrow could have been more roasted but the flavour was definitely there. The ribs were a very large portion, a bit dry on the outer edge but really fall off the bone with that smokey flavour. Truffle fries were cooked perfectly with that crisp snap texture. Well seasoned. Atmosphere, like eating in a higher end cafe at the lobby of an office block. Would go back to try other dishes if I'm in the area.
John — Google review
Absolutely loved our dining experience here! The service was exceptional — the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The salmon was perfectly seared with crispy skin and tender, juicy meat inside, while the steak was cooked to perfection — full of flavor and just the right doneness. The sides, especially the roasted cauliflower and sautéed mushrooms, were also amazing and complemented the mains really well. Overall, a wonderful evening with great food and great service. Highly recommend this place!
Keith C — Google review
Booked under First Table for dinner last night and had a great experience. Great hospitality by the staff and the food was exceptional. Will definitely come back again. I ordered the lamb rump which was tender and flavourful. The truffle Mac and cheese was a hit. Thank you
Goss S — Google review
This place is special. Everyone made us feel welcome. Both the food and service is of international standard. We were really impressed with the eye fillet, (cooked perfectly) jus and peppercorn sauces, bone marrow, broccolini, pork ribs, truffle fries and somehow we managed to squeeze in the chocolate tart and cheesecake. The live music and nice interior decor all just added to our very special evening at WG.
Sharis M — Google review
My recent visit to Wynyard Grill was a mixed experience. The restaurant was incredibly busy, leading to a loud and somewhat chaotic atmosphere that felt less than intimate. The staff were friendly, but it was clear they were overwhelmed, and we had to constantly call out for service rather than receiving proactive check-ins. Getting help became difficult at times. That said, the food was a complete standout. We managed to get our orders in, and the meal was simply superb. The lamb was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. I also had a taste of the ribeye, which was equally impressive. The overall styling of the restaurant and its open layout, which spills into a lobby area, made it feel less cosy. While the ambience and service were a letdown on this occasion, the exceptional quality of the food made the visit worthwhile. If you're looking for an incredible steak or lamb dish, Wynyard Grill is a must-try.

Wine bar
Queenies Caffé & Vino, located in Freemans Bay but often considered a Ponsonby gem, has recently undergone a revamp under the new ownership of Fran Mazza and Aaron Carson. Known for their success with other popular spots, the duo has brought new life to this beloved joint. The café offers a charming atmosphere with ivy-draped exteriors and cozy seating.
I stumbled across Queenies on the Urban List while searching for a new breakfast spot. After trying it, I can’t believe I didn’t know about it sooner! The menu was intriguing, with everything sounding delicious. I ordered the avocado and feta on sourdough, adding bacon, and it was a fresh, flavorful delight that danced on my palate. It was an excellent first experience at Queenies, and I will definitely be back to try more!

Highly recommend booking an outdoor table – perfect for photos and enjoying the vibe. The coffee is smooth and ‘beautifully presented’. The prawn spaghetti is spicy but full of flavor – absolutely yum! Don’t order it if u can’t have spicy food 🤣

The place is beautiful, super cozy and spotless. Every detail feels thoughtful, from the décor to the welcoming atmosphere. You can really feel the good energy in the café. Lily is incredibly kind, responsive and genuine. Highly recommend this place!

This little cafe is on a quiet street in Ponsonby and has a really cute vibe from the outside. The staff were super friendly. It was full inside when we arrived, so we sat outside, and they kindly turned the heater on for us which was really nice. The coffee was great, and we ordered the Turkish Eggs and the Tiramisu French Toast. The Turkish Eggs were amazing, full of flavour and looked beautiful too. I’d definitely get them again. The Tiramisu French Toast was very different from your usual French toast. My partner loved it more than I did, but it was still enjoyable. Overall, I’d happily go back. It’s a lovely spot if you’re after something a bit different and tasty.

Panacea was a great find on a Friday night. We had three absolutely stunning cocktails – seriously good! We also got to chat with a couple of the main guys who run the place, and they were brilliant. We had a great conversation about their cocktails and what they're doing. It’s clear they're really passionate about their craft. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Panacea is one of the best bars I've ever been to. You can see how passionate the team are at what they do. Not only have they spent (what I imagine was) a ton of time creating a comfortable and eclectic space, but the service was individualised and intentional. We had so much fun trying drinks, asking for recommendations and just wandering around the space. If you're in Auckland and you enjoy a cocktail, this is a must visit!

Hands down the best and most unique bar in New Zealand and, dare I say, the world. I have been to many bars listed on the worlds top 50 list, which do not compare in the overall experience in terms of atmosphere, drink quality, service and attention to detail. The staff are a small but extremely well-knit team who are extremely knowlegable, offer great reccomendations and provide excellent descriptions and processes' of the drinks they make. Most of all they treat you first and foremost like a friend and not as a customer. They don't just hire anyone and they have some of the best bartenders in NZ. I have been here over 15 times and somehow I come away with a new favourite drink every time I leave. I have yet to have a dissapointing cocktail in about 40-50 attempts. If cocktails are not your preference they have an extensively sourced whiskey collection containing very rare and niche bottles which you cannot find anywhere else. I could not reccomend Panacea enough. I would go here even if I wasn't drinking as the space is very warm and inviting and the music selection is elite.

Absolutely, completely recommend this place! I stumbled upon Panacea while I had a free day in Auckland, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. It wasn’t busy in the late afternoon on a Wednesday, so I basically got a personal tasting session with the bartenders, who guided me through a few selections. Definitely explore the experimental section of the menu—I tried three cocktails, and each was world-class. The standout to me was the “Kenan & Mezcal,” which somehow captured the essence of spicy guacamole and corn tortilla chips in perfect, drinkable harmony. Never had anything like it before. The playlist was on point too. A must-visit in Auckland’s CBD. If I lived here, I’d be a regular.

Brilliant little speakeasy hidden halfway up the stairs to a lawyer's office 😂 such a cool, chilled it ambience too. It was pretty quiet when we were there, although it was a random weeknight as we were visiting on holiday - I'm sure it gets absolutely packed otherwise! Service was with a smile and the staff know their stuff. Cocktails were delicious - new and exciting twists on some familiar ones which was nice to see! Would definitely have had more than one drink but for the fact we had to get up early the next morning.

I've walked past Panacea for two years without noticing it. It's almost entirely hidden from the street but is a gorgeous and surprisingly large upstairs cocktail bar. The menu is extensive, creative and bold.

Not your regular whisky cocktail bar. Innovative cocktails you won’t find anywhere else and an extensive whisky collection. The whisky menu isn’t current but we told the staff what we liked and they found unique whiskies that we loved. We were there on a Tuesday and Wednesday night. It had a lovely relaxed vibe with plenty of lounges and we didn’t have to shout to be heard. My type of place to relax and enjoy a dram (or three).

Cocktail bar
Caretaker is a hidden underground lounge in Auckland, inspired by New York-style speakeasies. The intimate space is dimly lit and features retro-style decor. The bar offers bespoke cocktails crafted for each individual, with no menu available - guests are encouraged to trust the expert mixologists to create the perfect drink based on their preferences. The lounge stays open until 3am every day, making it a rare late-night option in the area.
In one word, a perfect place. The cocktails are prepared however you like, depending on your mood or if you want to try new things, but you will not regret it. You can chat and spend time accompanied by great jazz music. The employees are very polite and talkative, you feel at home. I would definitely recommend it to those coming from Türkiye.

I love the concept and aesthetic of this place. We actually went twice in the same day. The first time, I asked for something inspired by a White Russian—nothing too specific, as I wanted to give the bartender some creative freedom. Unfortunately, I was served a classic White Russian without any special twist, which was a bit disappointing considering the price. To be fair, half of the menu wasn’t available either. It wasn’t a terrible experience, just underwhelming. A couple of hours later, we decided to come back and this time we sat at the bar. We had the chance to speak directly with one of the bartenders, Lock 🔒💕, and the experience completely changed. He listened carefully to what we were looking for and absolutely nailed it—delivering not only a delicious cocktail but a truly enjoyable moment as well. Watching him work was fun, engaging, and—honestly—a little sexy, which kind of fits the whole vibe of the place. 😂 I’ll definitely be back!

10/10 experience. Service was amazing, she grabbed our preferences and perfectly executed drinks to our liking. There was one drink I wanted to try that she recommended with ginger, but didn’t end up liking it too much. Server immediately picked up on it and gave me another drink free, and it was one of the best drinks that suited my palate EVER!
Tiffany K — Google review
This underground cocktail bar is a great choice for anyone wanting to enjoy a night out with friends while escaping the loud and chaotic vibes of a regular pub or bar. Everything about Caretaker feels carefully considered. The venue is styled to evoke the charm of a traditional tavern, and the staff do a great job of walking you through their process. Even if it’s your first time, you can rest assured you’ll have a wonderful experience. Choosing every aspect of your drink, from the spirits to the flavour profiles, is fun, and there’s still an element of surprise as each creation is tailored to you by the mixologists. Well worth a visit and always a good time. As the name suggests, they truly take care of you.

Focused on dessert options. Food (and decor) presentation was visually enticing but I felt a lack of flavour "explosion" with most of the morsels on the tasting plate I chose. The espresso was good, even at the late evening we arrived.
Heemi K — Google review
Who knew one of the best cocktail bars in the world could be hidden in a subterranean speakeasy in Auckland’s CBD? Caretaker takes some finding, and that’s part of its charm. The service was the best I’ve encountered anywhere, the knowledge behind the bar was astonishing, and the mixology was flawless. My drinking companion and I discovered at least three new staples that will now hasten our journey to the grave, and for that we’re sincerely grateful. A standout winner in every sense.

Such a rad little bar! Be prepared to have a drink made for you, such a cool idea. Cocktails were around $20ish dollars each so it would definitely add up quickly but so worth it! Awesome staff and a fun place to visit!

Great small theatre that really worked for the show that we saw. We enjoyed dinner beforehand in Citizen Q which took all of the stress out of being there on time. Will definitely keep an eye out for future shows here. Long queues to get drinks which seems standard everywhere now. Loads of ladies toilets though so minimal queuing there which was a lovely surprise.

Very conveniently situated. Parked at Civic car park which is handy and well priced. Went to see Fly My Pretties which was great. BUT. The ticketing system needs attention. I booked my tickets a few weeks in advance and printed them off. Row C seats 23 and 24. On arriving at row C I found the seat numbers only went to 20. I asked the usher for help and she contacted someone on her ear piece. We were told 19 and 20 were our seats. Today, after the show, I got an email which was a supposed copy of my original receipt with seats C19 and 20. What the heck? It's like they've changed they original booking to make it appear it was my mistake. Didn't appreciate it, nor standing like a numpty waiting to have it resolved in the theatre. (I did appreciate the young usher's help, she was polite and dealt with the situation well) It's a shame as the venue was great, as was the show.
Kym G — Google review
This is an odd place - instructions are pretty unclear via email on if they accept digital tickets or if you need to pick them up at will call (there is no will call). The show we went to was "sold out" but had a lot of empty seats, many were reserved and no one ever sat in them. Theatre was also incredibly warm. And the show we attended was really odd.
Chloe M — Google review
Comedy fest is on, so I have been hanging about the Q Theatre a bit. It's a wonderful facility to have, with four performance spaces of various size. Great that buying tickets on site avoids the extra costs of buying online. There's a bar on site, with decent chips and a couple of beers on tap, along with bottled beer and wines (maybe spirits too).
Barry A — Google review
Tonight, the entire northbound motorway was closed for four hours after a serious crash. It made the news. I called and asked if they’d delay the performance. They didn’t get back to me. And, get this, the show starting after ours wasn’t for another 45 mins. With a 45 min break between performances, they couldn’t be bothered to delay the start by even 15 mins. Not even that. We arrived so late that we were too embarrassed to use our front row seats and it spoiled the rest of the show.

Seoul Night is a vibrant Korean dining bar located in Auckland Central, offering a taste of Seoul's nightlife. Open seven days a week from 5 pm until late, it features an array of mains for one to three people, platters for two to four, chicken dishes, snacks, and drinks.
Seoul night is great! I went twice and both times the food and drinks were good, and so were portion sizes for both. The prices are a little bit on the higher end, but considering it’s in Auckland CBD, I can’t complain (peek the current menu I posted 😉). Their House Cocktails are also all $12 during happy hour which is great! My favourite cocktail was probably Einspänner which is good if you like coffee with cream. Other good cocktails are Cloud 9 which tastes purely like coconut cream, and Summer Sour which basically just tastes like apple sour. The atmosphere is good, relatively quiet for a restaurant, with great lighting for taking pictures. Also one of the servers, Mina (if I remember correctly) is nice and friendly. I would recommend going in a group, especially with around 2-8 people. And would highly recommend overall! Will definitely be coming again!

Went to Seoul Night for my birthday and the service was 10/10. They bring out a mini marshmallow kind of cake with a candle at the end of our dinner 🥰. The food was 11/10, we had second round of their Kimchi Fried Rice and their OG Korean Fried Chicken! The portion could be a bit bigger tho but overall 10/10. The drinks was superb! We had their happy hour cocktails for $12, we finished it all. Also shoutout to Parneet who was really patient and kind towards me and my friends while dining! Would definitely come back again!!!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience... definitely a well‑deserved 5 stars!

Had a fantastic evening at Seoul Night! The ambience was lovely and cozy, perfect for a night out. We tried Rose tteokbokki, chicken and cheese, Seafood Caesar salad and yum yum cauliflower. Most of the dishes were amazing- my favourite will be Chicken and cheese and yum-yum cauliflower. The rose tteokbokki had a bit of a curry flavour, wasn’t quite to our taste this time, but we ordered it hoping for something different since we love the Rose pasta last time. The drinks from the house cocktails range as always were excellent. Service was amazing and impressively quick, making the whole experience even better. Overall, a great evening with delicious food, drinks and a welcoming atmosphere.

She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. Her service was spot on—checking in at the perfect times and offering helpful recommendations throughout the night. To top it all off, the chefs surprised us with a beautiful anniversary dessert, which was such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. It really made the night feel extra special. Huge thanks to Sarah and the team for making our evening one to remember. We’ll definitely be back!

I used to love coming to Right Track — it was one of my favourite spots. However, my recent experience was very disappointing. There’s a lady today who was working today, wearing a skirt (not sure if she’s the manager or assistant manager), and she was extremely rude. I’ve visited this café before and noticed she never smiles and often gives off uncomfortable, harsh looks. In a customer-facing industry like hospitality, a friendly attitude is essential. If someone can’t even manage a basic smile or polite interaction, maybe this isn’t the right job for them.

Great bar in Auckland close to the waterfront. Lots of screens to watch every sport that is being played. Lots of screens for the horse racing and a big screen to watch the football. I enjoyed one of their specials, roast lamb and vegetables which came with a beer for $30. Meal was beautiful. Beer cold. Football enjoyed.

Bedford Soda & Liquor is a cocktail bar with a truly international soundtrack. It offers an array of delicious and inventive cocktails, as well as some really great bites to go with them. The drinks are expertly made and the team behind it are passionate about their craft.
Right in the heart of Ponsonby The Bedford is a must visit. Great venue with plenty of seating inside and in their garden. Friendly staff, great wines and the food is fantastic. We came for lunch and had the sharing plate, it was delicious and great value for money. We came back for a night time meal the meatballs are delicious! Will be back on my next visit to Auckland.

Bedford Soda & Liquor. A name so specific, it almost dares you not to go. I entered reluctantly, as one does when approaching any establishment that combines both soda and liquor. What’s next? Pickles and philosophy? Upon arrival, I was seated promptly, as if they’d been expecting me. Suspicious. I ordered a platter, chiefly because it contained olives, and partly because I enjoy the word platter. It evokes grandeur. The platter featured olives. Firm, briny spheres of existential clarity. I ate one and briefly remembered a maths teacher I hadn't thought of in years. Such was their power. Despite sounding like a 19th-century law firm or a fizzy drink-themed train station, Bedford Soda & Liquor is in fact a bar — and quite a good one.
Hayden B — Google review
We came here for drinks to celebrate on a Friday, and it was great. Located in Ponsonby Central, it’s a nice place to visit after dinner. It wasn’t as busy as I expected. We were greeted right at the door and seated straight away. It was good to have indoor and outdoor seating options. The staff explained the drinks menu as it was our first time. I really liked the types of drinks they had, and they’re happy to make classic cocktails or mix things up for you. I had a range of cocktails and daisy drinks (simpler cocktails that are slightly cheaper). I loved the different characters of the drinks. They’re aptly named. My favourite was one called 'The Golden Ticket' – the subtle fruity citrus hints made it really light but punchy. They have a good mix of light and dark cocktails, so there is something for everyone. They also have decent snacks; we only got the chips, which were pretty good. A good venue with attentive staff. Keep it up, and I can’t wait to come back.

My meat balls on spaghetti with mushroom source was delicious. But the Bedford’s wine pour is miserable and i always find the staff seem to be more interested in themselves than the customers. To cool to connect? Shame because the food is great.

Great atmosphere, delectable food. Would likely order the jalapeno poppers again. Meatballs itself were great (and gluten free). The base selection was tasty but we had to take away the balance (which is also a good thing), though could recommend perhaps pairing it with some sort of salsa/pesto/jam to balance out the richness. Looking forward to visiting again!

We were doing a tour of 'secret' and trendy cocktail bars that evening, and this was one of our stops. Easy to get to on the bus from CBD, and a really classy spot. We enjoyed two VERY tasty pineapple themed house cocktails, around $48 total.

Very loud & leery. Even when empty the music is so loud it's uncomfortable to be there - cool for late night dancing but not grabbing a pint on the way home from work. the decor is also shabby. Seems like the kind of place suited & booted punters pour into after flashy cocktails by the harbour to 'club'. I imagine they need to hose the place down Sat & Sun mornings. I feel for the staff - they are really nice and seem to have great camaraderie - considering the price of drinks I hope they are well paid.

They have a new lunch menu, what my friend and I had was terrible. I had the fried chicken wings. The coating was thin and tasteless and the chicken inside was extremely fatty. It came with some sort of chutney... My friend had a steak sandwich, it was terrible, soggy and cheap. The only redeeming feature is the genuinely nice person behind the bar, I'm guessing they were the owner or involved with management.

Good location, good pokies which are open till around 2am on occassions over been there. Staff (only one of which I've seen) seem relatively friendly albeit very quiet so can come across somewhat standoffish. Gaming room has a feeling of being small but it's pretty standard with 18 machines. Good selection of games with 3 or 4 random jackpots (those additional to the machine only jackpots). The other players are all pretty friendly, encountered the odd couple of people who attempted to peddle to me, however it would be almost impossible to go to any pub/club early hours of the morning & there not be peddling going on & if you disagree... Sorry but you're likely going blind! Gets very busy on Friday/Saturday nights. Good atmosphere & TVs for watching sport around the pub which provides coverage of all big sporting events. Overall good place, staff & people, will definitely be going back.

SkyBar at SkyCity Auckland offers a stunning panoramic view of Auckland's skyline and harbor, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a sunset and the city lights at night. The bar provides an impressive selection of expertly crafted cocktails and spirits, ensuring a delightful burst of flavors with each sip. While enjoying the breathtaking views, visitors can indulge in delicious hot dishes like cauliflower bites and cheese plates. The friendly staff, including the knowledgeable bar manager, cater to guests' needs and provide excellent hospitality.
One of the absolute highlights of my time in Auckland! Sky Bar is an experience that blends breathtaking views, exceptional service, and top-quality drinks into one unforgettable outing. Whether you're a local looking for a special evening or a traveler hoping to soak in the city from above, this place is a must. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome — especially Patrick, who truly went above and beyond. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, offering excellent drink recommendations based on what we liked. He even helped us capture the moment by taking the most amazing photos with the city skyline behind us — seriously, he has a gift! Patrick made our experience feel personal and elevated, and you can tell he genuinely cares about making guests feel special. The views from the bar are absolutely stunning. Watching the city sparkle beneath you as the sun sets or the lights come on is something you really have to see for yourself. The cocktails were creative and delicious, beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. Every detail — from the service to the ambiance to the drinks — was on point. Another bonus? If you order a drink, your admission to the Sky Tower lookout is free — such a great perk and well worth it. It's the perfect way to enjoy a bit of luxury while taking in the best views Auckland has to offer. All in all, Sky Bar delivers a five-star experience in every way. I couldn’t recommend it more highly, and I’ll absolutely be back the next time I’m in the city. Don’t miss it!

We have been to New Zealand and Auckland many times and have visited the Sky Tower before. As we had dined here and seen the views from the terrific observation level, this time we thought we would just come up for a drink with a spectacular view. Our cruise ship was in Auckland, so it was a relatively easy walk to the tower from the harbour. Our waiter was friendly and the food and drinks were very good. A 'must try' is the one they call 'that Sky Bar drink'. You will see it in the photos here :-) While there is very little to complain about, the toilet facilities could be improved. One lady who was helping her husband in a wheelchair commented on how difficult it was to navigate the very small spaces and narrow entrance to the two unisex toilets on the level. Overall, a very good experience which (with a few small changes) could go from great to fantastic. Here are a few photos from our recent visit.

The drinks are definitely on a higher side but not as high as you would anticipate… 40$ is a spending limit but definitely worth visiting the drinks are soooo good… enjoyed all of them.. specially if you go in evening during sunset the view is mesmerising..!!

We came to Auckland on a whim for a 2 week trip and wanted to get a great view of the city. We happened to be able to snag a table for some cocktails before dinner and all I can say is WOW. What a place. The service was incredible (thank you Jeffrey,) the view was amazing, and the cocktails were some of the finest libations we've had in a while. Fun and creative takes on the classics, and a seasonal drink menu with some great and creative options. If you have the time and the opportunity I can't recommend this bar enough.

Beautiful view, delicious cocktail and desserts, and outstanding service (special shout out to Patrick). This has officially become my top recommendation for a late afternoon spot in Auckland, perfect for enjoying drinks while watching the sunset

5/5 experience. We tried 8 cocktails among all of us & each one was unique & delicious. My personal favourite was the schezuan. So delicately balanced and flavourful, the service was very warm and top notch, not to mention the view from up top is incredible.

Aroma From the coffee: warm, nutty, and with a good balance of milk sweetness and roast depth. From the dessert: subtle — the gold leaf doesn’t have a scent, so what comes through is the faint aroma of chocolate and cream beneath. Taste & Texture Dessert: Beneath the flashy gold exterior, it’s a layered chocolate mousse-style bar with a rich ganache top and a crisp base. The gold leaf is pure theatre, no flavour, but a lot of visual punch. Texture-wise, it’s smooth and indulgent, with a coconut surprise. Coffee: Smooth and well-pulled, with milk steamed to that silky microfoam consistency. Works well as a palate cleanser between bites. This is more than just a dessert and coffee, it’s an experience piece. The taste is solid, the textures well executed, but let’s be honest: the “wow” factor comes from the look and the setting, not only from reinventing the flavour wheel. If you’re here for indulgence, photos, and skyline views, it delivers. If you’re here purely for groundbreaking flavour, it’s more show than shock.

I brought my family to a sky bar for drinks, and we were pleasantly surprised with a birthday celebration from them. We ordered drinks and a few snacks. The service was excellent, and the waitress had great skills when taking our family photos. I highly recommend taking your loved ones to enjoy the beautiful Auckland sunset together.

Bar
Muddy Farmer is an authentic Irish pub that offers a rustic setting adorned with relics and memorabilia. It hosts Latin dancing on Fridays and Saturdays, featuring open classes at 9pm followed by social dancing until 2am. The pub also holds Bachata classes on Fridays and Salsa dancing on Saturday nights, providing a great opportunity to learn and enjoy the dance. While some visitors appreciate the decorations and consider it a good place for drinks after work, others note that the facilities may need renovation.
Ever since this place came back under new management, it has been the best place in Auckland for both excellent food and solid atmosphere for drinking with mates. Highly recommend if you love a good bar and restaurant 👌

This bar and restaurant does not have any parking facility so you can't stay here longer. We only went for Salas night but they are not very organised though dance was fun. Still has old layout and interior which makes the place look old and out dated. They must renovate this to make it look good and attract a trendy crowd.
Abhijeet K — Google review
The ambiance is quite gloomy, and their wooden floor is quite good albeit a bit dirty. Some corners have better lighting than the rest. Different nights have different dance scheduled, notably Tuesday tango, and Saturday salsa & bachata. The beers and ciders are very Irish, though they also supply some local varieties. The food are ok, standard bar food; just be ready for the long wait.

I have been going there recently for the Latin dancing that happens on Fridays and Saturdays. Open classes are available from 9pm and then social dancing afterwards which finish around about 2am. It's a great way to have a feel whether you like it if you come to the classes first

Cocktail bar
Nestled away in the charming Snickel Lane, Truth or Dare Bar in Auckland is a delightful gem that spans just 45m2. This intimate venue features an open bar that serves as its focal point, creating a unique atmosphere that's hard to resist. Renowned for its innovative approach to desserts and cocktails, this bar offers a tantalizing array of Asian-inspired flavors. Here, the mixologists expertly blend sweet and savory elements, pushing the boundaries of traditional cocktail crafting.
The cocktails are so good, you can go for something classic or try something totally unique and they never miss. Super creative and really fun. Surprisingly, the food is just as good as the drinks. We tried a few dishes to share and everything was delicious. Great flavors, good portions, and perfect to pair with the drinks. The vibe is chill but lively, with cool lighting and music, perfect for hanging out with friends or even a date night. Staff were super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun night out with great drinks and food!

Went for a girls night and it was such a lovely experience. Their cocktail selection really is unique - incredible, creative flavours that are tastefully created and very enjoyable. Food was also a hit, especially the prawn toast and Pavlova. Beautifully balanced flavours that pair well with drinks. Very welcoming team - shout out to Theo, Yovin and Dewi for keeping us entertained! This place is definitely a splurge but if you’re willing to, it’s worth the price. Will be back!

Love the concept of this bar! It’s modern, creative, and so unique for Auckland. The drinks menu is next level! The persimmon cocktail and the matcha one (with a brandy snap!) were amazing, I was genuinely shocked at how good they were! And the food also mind-blowingly good. Can’t wait to come back and try more. Highly recommend! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
