Pindul Cave

(7994)
Pindul Cave is a popular destination in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, known for its stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors can enjoy the thrilling activity of cave tubing by floating into the large cave on inflated tubes and following the underground river's flow. The cave is located in Bejiharjo Village and is a favorite among young adventurers. It offers a unique experience to explore the beauty of nature while engaging in an exciting water activity.
what a wonderful cave, been here twice. the staffs are so friendly, specially Mr. Santo he's so informative, ,there's still lots of beautiful videos about this destination on my gallery but I think you should come here and check it by yourself, and here's not only one cave here, there's few of caves and you can also do other things like offroad by jeep.and if you don't have a waterproof phone or camera, they sell waterproof cases here.
Muhammad L — Google review
We’re a group of young and growing adults, aged 11 to 44, and had an incredible time thanks to the friendly and attentive guides. You can bring your phone in a waterproof bag (sold on-site), but we hired a photographer to capture the moments—so we could fully enjoy the experience without distractions. Having done cave river explorations before, this one stood out. We got to swim, jump, and fully immerse ourselves in the water. Some areas are shallow and rocky, while others are deep, so it’s important to stay alert. The local guides—who know the terrain well—were always nearby, keeping us safe. We also did the Oyo River tubing, which was another highlight. While waiting for the transfer back to base, we enjoyed some Indomie and drinks. Bring spare clothes and towels to wash up—basic items are also available for purchase if needed. The whole adventure felt like a real-life Universal Studio's Jurassic Park—wild, natural, and so much fun.

I enjoyed this trip a lot. The guid made a great job keeping us entertained on the way. We also enjoyed some cliff diving.
Kareem J — Google review
Awesome area 🤩 for river tubing, you will pass through a cave full of stalactites and witness the wonderful rock formations. You will also have the opportunity to jump into the water at some point too. Fun filled activity on a sunny ☀️ day.
Amos S — Google review
Good one. Floating in a river flowing through a limestone cave across a hill.
Travelling W — Google review
If you are looking for a day full of fun activities with your family and enjoy nature, this is the right place to go. You can experience a one hour off-road tour with jeep in the surrounding, visit the Goa and at last do a river tour with big buoys. The whole program last about 4 hours and not much empty time, except from time to time having some rest with drinks and snacks. Also a high thumb to the staff there who are really helping and professional.
Philippe L — Google review
majestic piece of nature. great tour-guide explains many things we haven't tought would want to know about. got the chance to visit in not very peak season of tourism, so the visit were great, no crowd, and very safe adventure into the cave. great place, great experience, would very much recomend this place.
Indro T — Google review
Ventured into the local attractions and it was a delight! The tour guide's friendly nature and engaging storytelling made the cave and local history feel like fascinating adventures. Such a wonderful experience!! Do make sure bring extra cloths, slippers and waterproof phone cover. For safety and convenience measures.

Krakal Beach, located in Jogja, is gaining popularity among tourists for its surfing tours. The beach offers stunning scenery, especially from the hilltop where visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the waves and rocks. While the local food is affordable, it may be limited in variety. The beach provides huts for relaxation but charges apply if food is not purchased from the owner.
Beautiful beach, white sand with amazing rock structures. Good spots for photography or simply just to relax.
Hermin — Google review
good view but the sea wave to close to the beach lip, so pretty dangerous for swimming or playing with sea water pretty clean also for public beach there is also many many seafood stands around and cheap price eat seafood all your day the people around pretty patient also to local tourist
Han L — Google review
i went there on the weekday and only a few people in there. This is one of my favourite beach because of the beautiful scenery especially if you go up the hill, you can see a wider view, see the waves and rocks, very beautiful. local food prices are quite affordable but less varied. there are plenty of huts to sit and not pay only if we buy the owner's food. Unfortunately the toilet is not good and if weekdays, only a few are open.
Naya N — Google review
Was met by super arrogant male Indonesians wanting to charge 30k for entry - so I didn't go. I've been before. Food is like anywhere else, and can't swim in the beach as its too dangerous. Plus want to charge parking on entry. BETTER BEACHES IN BALI FOR FREE Forget this place I think, go to Medewi beach, Bali for more beautiful, can swim - no charge for entry
Rick S — Google review
Nice and calm place, good view, white sands, cheap, but not much around. If you just want to chill then this beach maybe perfect for you. Pretty neat compared to other beach near the area. Or if you just want to take a quick look before going to your main destination.
Marjan H — Google review
Beautiful view, so many food and drink seller. You can snorkle here when the water condition is good. The environment is clean but the way to parking area is narrow.
Anjar K — Google review
You can bring your kids here. No need to worry about the fasility like toilet, mosque, restaurant and souvenir store. They have big parking area and beautiful hill to hike to see the shoreline from top. Krakal had long shoreline and there is a monument on the top of a hill in the west and in the east you can also enjoy another beach.

Beach
Nestled in the serene village of Sidoharjo, Pantai Slili is a hidden gem along the southern coast of Gunungkidul. This compact beach, framed by stunning rock formations and soft sand, offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. With its crystal-clear waters, it's an ideal spot for snorkeling enthusiasts looking to explore vibrant marine life. The beach features charming huts for rent and nearby seafood shacks that serve delicious local fare.
One of the first beaches I have visited on the south coast of Java. The waves crash in and drag out strongly so mind your shoes, children etc. Parking easy enough and food and toilets a plenty. Clean and not too busy when I was there.
Luke R — Google review
This is one of the beaches that must be visited if you come to Jogja, you can judge the view yourself.. in my opinion, if you come at the right time, this beach is truly extraordinary.
Sunrise 2 — Google review
Fascinating view and we can rent the hut just to get a rest or enjoy the view, I just a little bit bothered with a photographer service, we even not asking him to capture our picture but suddenly he came and ask money to us from capturing our picture, we're not even ask him!!
North U — Google review
good place for vacation with family sea wave is so intense so better not playing near the sea border the sands is white and pretty clean but also the sands is pretty rough the view also great
Han L — Google review
I went there very late in the afternoon before sunset. So it's a bit quiet, it feels like a private beach. Entrance is 30k rupiah (I forgot hahah) and the foods there are so expensive. It's better if we bring supplies. Prayer rooms are also very difficult to find. You have to ask someone there first to show you
Anggita D — Google review
Located on Kidul Mountain, easy to find by google maps. I recommend you as a tourist to rent a car to go there, and you could rent their gazebo for relax and lunch. I rent gazebo only for IDR 30K on weekday, the food price quite affordable. There's many paid toilet public. I recommend you to climb the hills and look the scenery. notes: don't forget to keep our nature clean:)

Slili Beach is a small, peaceful beach located between Sundak and Krakal Beach in Gunungkidul. I went there last month for a short getaway. I really enjoyed my time there! The beach wasn’t too crowded, and the water was clear with soft white sand. It felt like a hidden gem. There were small local stalls selling seafood and fresh coconut water. I also liked that the parking area was close to the beach. I’d recommend Slili Beach to people who are looking for a quiet, clean beach away from the crowds.
Ella B — Google review
Worth a visit! You can't swim here but you can stay on the shore for a photo, there is a gazebo, you can rent it for 30k IDR, food is good! I came on a weekday so I don't know how crowded it will be on the weekend.

Pantai Sadranan

4.7
(5029)
Pantai Sadranan, located in Gunung Kidul near Pantai Sundak, is a pristine beach with white sand and natural beauty. It offers opportunities for snorkeling and stunning views of the sea. The sitting arrangements are a bit congested but suitable for families. However, the beach can be challenging to walk on due to small pieces of debris. It's recommended to visit on a sunny morning to enjoy the beautiful sunrise and avoid bad weather.
Love the sand, love the view near the beach, love the view from up the hills, also love the view from the small island near the beach you can reach by foot. You even can kayaking and snorkling and see beautiful species near the beach.. lovely!

visited here during eid break, and it’s totally CROWDED. the water is pretty shallow so it’s safe for u to swim. the locals provide canoeing, snorkeling, documentation, seafood, and toilets; so u dont need to worry abt the services. entry fee: 15k each parking: 15k canoe: 100k (for 3 people) spot to sit (saung): 30k toilet 3k, shower 5k seafood is affordable, but it’s unfortunately not fresh🥲 (155k/4person, crab 70k)

The palace is clean on the beach too but you have to pay attention to the rocks under the water. Not expensive I mean the rent of the place where you stay in I didn't try any food there because I had my own and yeah you can bring your food and drinks with you. There are toilets and showers but don't expect that they're clean like home . Of course you have to pay for an entrance ticket.

Sadranan Beach in Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta is a picturesque cove with tranquil waters and golden sands, making it an ideal spot for families and sun-seekers. The beach is surrounded by coconut palms and lush greenery, creating a peaceful oasis for visitors to unwind. It's perfect for activities like swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking due to its shallow waters and gentle currents.
I was on this beach so many times and it's really nice if you are very early there to enjoy and have a swim but if you are coming after 10 in the morning be ready to have lots of people, selfie sticks going around you🫨🤦 and all the magic of the place disappear...

The first time i went here with a friend and a year later I took my family here. The beach is super clean and worth the 2 hour travel to get there from the city. The waves can get a bit bigger around 4 pm so please be careful, the entry ticket Is pretty affordable as well as the canoes, snorkles and life jackets.

I was here with my family. We had so much fun. The kids were happy playing with the sand and the waves, so yeah it's kid-friendly. And we the adults enjoyed swimming and snorkeling. It's clean and clear...the water and the air as well the area. The cuisine was fine. So I think I would be happy to come back in the future.

Pantai Sadranan is a perfect beach for family fun time. Small waves, white sand and corals. You can go snorkeling to. It is located in Gunung Kidul, roughly 2 hour-drive from Yogyakarta. Snorkeling gear rental with instructor is available. Extra fee for underwater photos and videos. Kayaking can also be another activity that you can do. Photographers are everywhere to help you taking beautiful family photos with affordable fee. The foods are also delicious on a standard price. Everything is affordable. Come and visit, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Milagros A — Google review
It's a nice place to hang out with friends. The beach is clean and beautiful. A little bit too far from Yogyakarta, but it will be worth the trip. You’ll see a gorgeous scenery.
Alvinadiraharja — Google review
Around 2017 when I was in 9th grade, I visited this beach during the school tour. The road to the beach is uphill and winding because it is located in the highland. The beach is far from the main street so if you want to visit this beach, you should go using your vehicle like a car or motorbike, or you can ride the local transportation called ojek (motorcycle taxi). This beach is not as famous as Parangtritis but the view is much better than Parangtritis beach, in my opinion. The beach is surrounded by hills because it is located in the highland, the sand is still white, and the water is still as clear as a crystal. You can also rent snorkeling equipment if you want to see the underwater creatures. There are a lot of small shops and restaurants here if you want to avoid the sunny and hot weather, and most of the shops and restaurants have rest room and praying room for the visitors. Although the scenery is beautiful, there were not much visitors at this beach, so it is the best place for you if you want to relieve the stress by seeing such a beautiful view. Overall, this beach is a perfect destination for holiday. Even though it is far from the center of Yogyakarta, it worth the wait. The scenery is amazing, the price for foods and drinks is normal, and the local guides are really nice and helpful.
Nur A — Google review
Beautiful location. Cosy small beech coves. Rooms and cottages available. Restaurants and seafood. Peaceful relaxing. Snorkling close to beech for kids. Sunset and sunrise. Perfect weekend unwind. All along this coast all small beaches which are close to each other so if one go to the next. Only thing to to remember there is no beer.
David B — Google review
Been here for family vacation. The beach is nice and clean, however the sea-current was quite hard, so you should be extra-careful especially when you bring children there. The locals is also very nice and helpful. The food and service was normal (in term of pricing). However, the location was quite far from Yogyakarta, it's about 2-hours driving thru the local winding road, but with nice scenery. Highly Recommended.

Baron Beach is a picturesque bay with black sand and towering karst cliffs in Gunung Kidul. It's known for its unique feature of sea water meeting fresh water, allowing visitors to swim in both. The beach gets crowded during school holidays, offering a fun experience for families with activities like playing in the sand and water. The area also boasts fresh seafood culinary delights, including the famous fish soup and lobster. Additionally, there's a scenic pathway through mountains that provides stunning views of the surroundings.
A beach that has spacious parking lots. last time i came here was more than 15 years ago and a bit surprised to see the beach these days. I think its not a typical beach that suitable for swimming cz there are too many fishing boats here and there. But its a good one for those who like to hunt seafoods and local souvenirs.

A wonderful beach for family, with its brownish sand. It's a calm bay with a high cape with a lighthouse tower on its East flank, and an underground river on its West flank is recommended as a safe playground for children. There are fishermen and their colourful boats on the beach, and when lucky visitors can also buy freshly caught fishes from them at low prices. Food stalls and shops selling seafoods and souvenirs. Many toilets available for little money. No recommended lodging.
Raden S — Google review
The beach is surrounded by mountains and greenery, but the beach it self is narrow and sometime strong waves. Parking lot is quite spacy. We need to pay for the parking fee per vehicle.

It’s a great experience. The cave is beautiful and natural. On the finish spot, you need to climb up a bit to reach the main road and it’s kinda steep so make sure you’re strong enough to climb 5-floors stairs. The staff are awesome and friendly; they explain the history of the cave along the way, casually have a chat with us, help us taking photos and suggest the best photo spots/poses.

Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Jomblang Cave is a rugged vertical sinkhole cave that offers the beauty of limestone cliffs, active stalactites and stalagmites, natural green vegetation, and a subterranean river flowing into the ocean. One of its unique features is the view of an ancient forest rarely seen elsewhere. The adventure begins by leaving the basecamp to reach the edge of the cave through various tracks with heights of up to 60 meters.
One of the most unforgettable moments of my life. The place is so magical, it almost hurts. The entire team made the whole process seamless and well-organized. Using pure human power catrol rappelling system, we descended 60 meters underground into Jomblang Cave. A little tip: bring a flashlight, it gets really dark down there. I came solo, but ended up making new friends along the way. All the guides were incredibly helpful and supportive. For IDR 500K (lunch included), it’s totally worth it. You can also spend an extra IDR 50K for two printed photos (optional). Disclaimer: The weather is out of our control, so plan accordingly.
Aintenaa — Google review
The path at Jomblang is a bit burdensome. You have to get abseiled 40m. You might have to wait a while until you are on. In the cave you walk 200m through the mud (no worries you get rubber boots) , but the view is absolutely worth it.
Marko ( — Google review
As beautiful as the pictures suggest! The tour is actually quite organized and on a 1st come 1st serve basis. 1 group consists of approx 10 people to abseil down 60m to the cave and take pictures. The ground is very muddy and rocky; may not be suitable for very young children.
Lim K — Google review
Tickets need to be reserved in advance - can be done through Whatsapp. The experience was great and the tourguides were superb at taking pics at the main attraction. We got a lunch after and its possible to buy professional photos from a booth.
Kája H — Google review
The group is so service oriented. It was a very muddy trek and we changed our shoes to boots just like everyone else. You go down a cliff but don't actually repel down. Then you trek through a cave where your boots are often stuck in the mud. Suggest bringing a head lamp and it's in the middle of central java and there's really no cool down in the cave. The staff carried our four year old when he kept getting stuck in the mud. Definitely don't bring clothes you want to keep clean! Afterwards we were served a basic lunch with aqua, ayam goreng and rice. Fun experience
Chris T — Google review
Oh my God😍 it was a wonderful trip. I highly recommend this cave. So beautiful masterpiece of God. And the way through the cave to reach that hole was incredible.

It's unreal, unworldly, amazing, beautiful, there are not enough adjectives to describe how fantastic this place is. It's a long and a half hour drive to the caves and the last couple are on bumpy dirt tracks, you then change you shoes for wellington (plastic) boots and walk down to the cave entrance, where you are harnessed up and sent 2 at a time down a 60 metre drop into the cave. Then it's's a tricky walk in the dark to what must be the most amazing sight I have ever seen in my life. It's a memory you will keep forever
