The Hat Madrid is a popular and affordable accommodation option located in the heart of the city, just off the historic Plaza Mayor. The hostel offers bright rooms and dorms with free Wi-Fi and breakfast included. One of its highlights is the rooftop bar, providing stunning views of Madrid along with a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy cocktails and tapas. With both indoor and outdoor common areas, including a spacious rooftop terrace, guests can socialize and take in the vibrant surroundings.
Fantastic hostel! Clean and comfortable rooms, good AC and the rooftop restaurant is super cool too. What really stands out though is the service and staff. A huge thanks in particular to Arturo, Maria and Medina for their kindness and generosity, going out of their way to make sure I feel at home and welcome here in Madrid!
Ethan T — Google review
There are many things to like about The Hat Hostel but unfortunately there are also a couple of significant drawbacks. To start off, the location is amazing, quite literally a stone's throw from Plaza Mayor, close to public transportation, lots of bars, restaurants and basically right in the middle of the action in Madrid. I got the 4 person dorm, it came with a decent sized locker for my smaller bag and I could store my bigger bag under the bed. The room had a window facing the street which was great for ventilation as there was no AC or fan (which during my stay was fine, didn't need either) Social events organized by the staff were great! The sangria class was exceptional and the pub crawl was also super fun, a great way to socialize with other people staying at the hostel. There was a Peruvian girl working there who organized both, unfortunately I cannot remember her name but she was really great. The upstairs terrace was also lovely and a nice place to enjoy breakfast in the morning (which was extra) or a glass of wine in the evening. The staff on the whole were a mixed bag, most of them were fantastic, super friendly and helpful but there were a couple who worked at the terrace upstairs who were simply awful, especially the older blonde lady with the pixie cut, really bad energy. The bathroom situation also left a lot to be desired during my stay. No soap in the soap dispensers, 1/2 showers did not have hot water. I don't know how many people were sharing 2 showers + 2 toilets but it seemed to be really busy, at least on my floor. I had a decent experience overall but I feel like a little more attention to some facilities and a little more kindness on the part of some of the staff would go a long way.
Varun D — Google review
Location hardly could be better. This is the hostel to stay if you are looking to be in the city center, with at least some chance of interacting with travellers from all over the world. Roof bar is open for visitors from outside of the hostel, and it can get crowded in the evening, but it is not a party place...so do not expect party atmosphere there. It also closes by midnight or earlier (23:00h)...but on Friday evenings people do hang out in basement common area before going out, so if you are solo traveller you can attach to a group. They have shared and single rooms, They are well kept, clean, with modern furniture. For sure above average if we are speaking about hostels.
Damir P — Google review
Truly an unbeatable location. Rooms are perfectly serviceable. The free sangria class was a nice touch. I appreciated that there was access to more of a party vibe with the pub crawl, but that it was not, itself, a party hostel - it was nice and quiet. Definitely worth staying just for the proximity to everything.
Norienne C — Google review
Amazing stay at here! Great location, nicely done, I´ve seen all sort of cool people in and out, quiet - at least in my room - and the reception staff very very nice and and so helpful! Really nice terrace with picturesque views. Good wine and snacks :) Big upp to Silvia, Maria, the tall guy in the reception and the blondie I checked out with :) Really felt homey with their service. Compensates for the fact that even in previously booked neither early or late check out was allowed. But that´s a management decision, so maybe check this out? :) Overall I definitely recommend!
Silvia P — Google review
Perfectly clean, comfy, and central! This hostel is awesome - truly! The location is great - 1 min walk to Plaza Mayor, but the area is quiet and not so hot in the summer. The friendly staff even provides you with a map of the area. The hostel is sparkling clean, and the space is utilized perfectly. Rooms are comfy, bathrooms are really convenient. The beds are spacious, linen is spotlessly white, the staff even gives you two pillows, and they have added thoughtful touches - a shelf for your essentials, a socket with two USB plugs, and two hooks by the feet for a bag. There are also blackout curtains to give you a sense of privacy. The lockers are spacious enough to fit a small suitcase, and still have room left. I have only one suggestion for the upper beds (and it might be just my preference): the steps could be a bit wider, and also - a handrail near the footboard would allow for better grip. Regardless - the hostel is awesome, and I strongly recommend!
Ana N — Google review
A wonderful hostel with kind staff and clean facilities. Biggest piece of advice is go in the walking tour right when you arrive. A great way to meet friends to hang out with. The rooftop is beautiful for a late night drink and their simple breakfast.
Taylor R — Google review
The hostel is well located between 2 metro stations within a 10 minute walking distance. There are two supermarkets nearby which is really convenient. Short walking distance to the major attractions and Mercado. Free Sangria making class every evening at 9:15pm which is a great way to socialize and make new connections. Special shoutout to Silvia at the front! Super friendly and provided great recommendations. Definitely go an say Hi to her if you see her! Manuela at check-in was also great at answering any questions I had about Madrid. Will definitely revisit again the next time I'm in Madrid!

Ok Hostel Madrid is a laid-back accommodation option that offers cozy dorms and private rooms with en suite bathrooms, as well as a shared kitchen. Located in the Barrio La Latina neighborhood, it provides easy access to the metro and popular tourist attractions like La Puerta del Sol and La Plaza Mayor.
I am a single woman and felt very good staying here for four nights. The staff goes above and beyond to help you, and I enjoyed the group dinner one night which was a fun way to meet others. The location is also great — it is near everything. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.
Cindy D — Google review
Great vibes, very sociable. Staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good. The dinners and bar crawls are good. The only things I did not like are that top bunks don’t have a privacy curtain like lower ones. Also, there is nowhere to put your makeup or toiletries. You only have a sink with no table to cabinets to place stuff while doing your makeup.
Karley M — Google review
I stayed in a private room at this hostel and had a great experience. The room was clean and the location is excellent — only a few minutes’ walk from many of Madrid’s main attractions. The room isn’t fancy, but it’s a hostel after all and the important thing is that everything was well-kept and comfortable. What really makes this place stand out is the staff … I’d give them 100/10! They are some of the most helpful and cheerful receptionists I’ve ever met, always smiling and friendly. Special thanks to Esteban and Annia, who took the time to explain everything about the city and made me feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this hostel for a short stay in Madrid.
Nouran A — Google review
I had a fantastic stay at this hostel, thanks largely to Annia, who made my experience truly stand out. Apart from her stunning beauty, she's incredibly professional and friendly, explaining everything smoothly. The locker rooms are free, and breakfast is included if you book directly with the hostel. You can use the kitchen at any time, and there's free tea and water available all day. Breakfast is served from 8-11 am. My only minor gripe was with the guy wearing eyeglasses at the front desk, who seemed a bit rude. However, the location is fantastic – it's right next to the metro station and within a 15-minute walk from the busy area. Despite that one interaction, I would definitely recommend this hostel.
Ameer S — Google review
The staff are incredible; Esteban specifically when I had left my work clothes in a locker he went to great lengths to find it and return it hours after the fact hoping they weren't lost- this type of care not only is the best way to represent yourself as a business, but also as a person. Would highly recommend!
Michael F — Google review
No curtains on top bunks so if 1 person’s light is on it ruins everyone’s sleep, the room is super crowded and tight, the AC doesn’t work, wifi doesn’t work, people are loud at 1:30am (the time I’m writing this review at) The service is great and the place is clean, but how does that equate to a 4.6 star rating? This is the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had unfortunately, and more frustrating knowing that most of the problems can be addressed just by ADDING CURTAINS
Anik — Google review
I had a wonderful stay at Ok Hostel in Madrid. It is well positioned in the city and I was able to do almost everything I had planned on foot. People and staff were really friendly. I would like to leave a huge shoutout to Édipo. Among the 9 hostels that I stayed at during my backpacking trip across Europe, he was definitely the best. He was helpful and made me feel at home, and this was exactly what I needed as I was just starting my backpacking trip.

I can honestly say I have never had a better hostel experience. Everything was great and the service outstanding!!! Staff are so friendly and helpful too! Thank you team OK!

Cats Hostel Madrid Sol is a vibrant and lively hostel located in the heart of Madrid, just steps away from Santa Ana Square and Puerta del Sol. Housed in a former 17th Century Palace, the hostel offers bright rooms and dorms with lockers and shared bathrooms, all overlooking a cozy courtyard. Guests can start their day with a hearty breakfast at the on-site cafe before joining activities such as dance classes, tapas tours, salsa lessons, and flamenco dancing.
The hostel has a great location and a good atmosphere. Staff is very kind and helpful. Shout out to Irene Ro, who was so nice when I checked out and to the bar staff. Despite seeming a bit empty sometimes, they do have social activities and there's a pub crawl everyday. I met a lot of good people there and would definitely come back. They also have a good kitchen and a laundry place.
Gustavo M — Google review
Not sure I can highly recommend this hostel. I’ll start with the good things. The location was very convenient, the staff was very nice, and the building itself was very beautiful. There is also washer/dryer, but it is €8 to do a load. In the summer heat, the AC situation was not ideal. You had to manually ask them to turn it on every time and it would very quickly shut off— which was tough in the heat. Also, there were tons of kids and teenagers running through the halls late into the night. Someone in my room had to yell at the kids to be quiet multiple times past 1am. It says 18+, but in the fine print there can be children as long as they are accompanied by parent/legal guardian. I think that meant a lot of sports/ school trips would choose this hostel. The social activities were all very alcohol centric (which may not be specific to this hostel) and everyone predominantly kept to themselves. Also, as someone over 6 feet, the sleeping situation was difficult since the beds were quite small and I could not lay flat in the bed.
Nate P — Google review
I have stayed here twice now and every time it has been a great experience. The front desk was so nice. The hostel is quiet at night . They have plenty of things to do in the hostel , which is great. Ro, Victor, and coffee were all super helpful.
Zahmia B — Google review
Okay, I’m not one to do a review for a hostel, but I had to write a review so excellent service doesn’t go unrecognised. Sergio was the most welcoming, friendliest hostel worker I’ve ever met! He made us feel right at home within minutes of arriving, and remembered us - amongst 100s of others! If there’s a person who epitomises excellent customer service, it’s him. I know this sounds so cheesy, but it’s really true! Thank you Sergio for making our stay extra special! We’ll be back to Cats hostel one day :)
Ryan C — Google review
I had a fantastic stay at this hostel in Madrid! The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of the city, close to everything. The building itself is full of character and history, beautifully converted into a modern, comfortable hostel. The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to help, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. There were plenty of toilet and shower cubicles, all spotless and cleaned daily, which made a big difference. My room was also super clean and had air conditioning. Highly recommended!
Samane N — Google review
As a first time solo traveler I honestly didn’t know what to expect staying at my first hostile in Spain. This was by far the BEST choice for a hostel. You meet soo many great people from all over the world, everything is walking distance, and they even do pub crawls and walking tours to get to know the city better and meet people. If I could’ve stayed longer I would’ve, Ro and Irene are the best hosts to have and I will be coming here again soon.
Chelsea M — Google review
Amazing hostel. Clean, great atmosphere, great activities, drink specials, overall it has very a welcoming vibe. 13 euros for a night is super cheap compared to most of Europe. I couldn’t recommend this place any more! The staff are lovely too. Hope you get to meet Marian & Avaro!!
Nathan K — Google review
As far as hostels go this is nice place to stay. Good vibes if you want to drink, meet new people, and go on pub crawls. However, if you want to sleep then you're out of luck because if anyone is loud in the interior courtyard the sound will travel to the rooms above. staff were good except one who at 11.25pm came into my room and turned on the light. I asked him to turn it off, but he said he was with a client and to just give him a second and he didn't know I was trying to sleep. He did turn off the light but he continued to talk to this client in a regular volume with no attempt to whisper. From what I could gather they were discussing one of the lockers but if this was a guest then both should have made an effort to be quieter, and if it was someone to fix the locker then it shouldn't be done at night. Regardless, turning on a light in a hostel dorm after 11pm is a no-no in my book. Aside from that mildly negative experience this hostel has a lot going for it. Supermarkets right around the corner, barber directly opposite, and dead center of town close to everything, ideal for short or medium term stays in Madrid.

TOC Hostel Madrid is a trendy accommodation option located in the heart of Madrid. The hostel offers a variety of room types, including private and shared options suitable for solo travelers, couples, families, or groups of friends. The dorms feature comfortable bunk beds and spacious lockers for convenience. Guests can enjoy modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, a retro bar, shared kitchen facilities, and a common lounge area.
This hostel, located very close to Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, and Palacio Real was in a very good location. The rooms were surprisingly well kept, air conditioning was nice. The staff was very friends and they are very helpful in making friends, they set up events for travelers to meet each other and interact. Good breakfast too. I would highly recommend.
Owen A — Google review
Quite nice and clean, although the room smelled a bit (not a lot) like sweaty shoes. Not the hostel fault I imagine but still not the most pleasant experience. Overall good. No curtains by the bad though which is a nice addition giving privacy.
Machey M — Google review
Amazing location, super clean and comfortable rooms, everything was great! Only downside: no elevator for hostellers and no proper first-aid kit. I twisted my ankle, and they only had Band-Aids, which wasn’t helpful. Apart from that, it’s a really good place to stay!
Madhurim S — Google review
On the surface, the hostel seems lovely, very well located and clean. The problem starts when you actually stay there and encounter problems other hostels just do not have. to begin with, and the most terrible one- the bathroom. The doors are see thru at the shower and the toilets, which are both located at the same room. Now, this wouldn’t be a problem if there was a door to that area that locks, but not in this hostel. There is absolutely no way to guarantee not being peeked at by perverts staying at the room, the door to the bathroom only slides without a lock. So there you are, showering, in a MIXED dorm, and ANY MAN can enter and see you. I don’t know what kind of perverted designer came up with that but this is absolutely WRONG and borderline shouldn’t be legal. Women, absolutely DO NOT stay in a shared room. Secondly, the laundry room is unavailable at a very early hour during the evening. Also couldn’t use it in the morning as they had to cut off the water.
Moria — Google review
My boyfriend and I stayed in the 8 person mixed dorm, originally for 3 nights but we left after 1 night, not even after 24 hours. Sadly we had a disappointing experience at this hostel, especially because we stayed in the TOC in Barcelona and loved it. The only good thing about this hostel is the location. We needed to leave this place because it is really dirty. There is dust and dirt on the floor in the room, dust on the top of everything (on the standing lockers) & a lot (!!!) of hairs and dirt in the showers. We told this the reception and showed them the pictures and they said they gonna clean the room tomorrow. After the cleaning the next day, the room looked exactly the same as dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for weeks! Another big point is, that me as a woman felt really uncomfortable in this mixed dorm because the doors of the toilet and shower are see thru and have no locks!!! On top of that was the WiFi in the room really bad or not working at all & the common area was always full and the sofas smell like feet. We felt really uncomfortable, frustrated and disgusted.
Shirin — Google review
Very clean and cozy place! The hostel was quiet, comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.
Shahin A — Google review
The rooms are okay but the beds don’t have curtains so the lights wake everyone up when used. The lockers have room for shirts and clothes to be hung but there’s not rod to hang clothes…. The door also is very loud because you can’t open the handle from the outside to open it quietly. They claim to have a functional kitchen, but have no stove top, so a person can’t even make pasta or boil eggs. I booked for 4 days and wanted to shorten it to 2 but they told me no. Not great customer service. Location is very good. And the room was clean but the showers were not.
Bo H — Google review
One of the best hostels I’ve been in. All new and clean. Option to have breakfast included (and very good breakfast) service very nice. Rooms very clean and private bathroom. Location in perfect and the price is very good. One of the best hostels I’ve been in Madrid so far.

Sungate One is a centrally located hostel in Madrid, offering easy access to the airport and main train station. It's situated in Centro, close to public transportation links, major sights, nightlife, and a popular shopping mall. The accommodation provides complimentary breakfast and dinner, along with a shared kitchen and lounge. The friendly staff offers tips and advice for exploring Madrid and can help book tours on-site. With no bunk beds, the hostel ensures a comfortable stay for guests.
My favorite hostel so far! Very clean and I love the unique non-bunk format of the rooms with only three people in it. Makes it easier to organize and get to your stuff. The beds are also very comfy. Personally, I really care about how clean the bathrooms are and its layout and this hostel has by far the best bathroom situation I have seen in a hostel. A variety of separate bathrooms to chose from- some with just the toilet, some with just the shower, and a few with a full bathroom all to yourself with a hairdryer, making it easier to layout all your toiletries and change with ease. Staff are helpful and can help create a community where you find friends to go out with, since they promote so many activities.

Possibly the best hostel experience I've ever had. Loved having this place as my home while I was in Madrid. It's so central to everywhere - everything is so walkable, the hostel's evening activities are great and the staff are phenomenal! Really loved meeting all the people I did while staying here. I will always try to stay with OneFam when I'm in Europe moving forward!

if you're looking for a social hostel this is your place. I can't imagine anyone doing party hostels better than this, they have events every single night and are so friendly and welcoming to everyone. I stayed in a PR here for a week and I can honestly say it was one of the greatest weeks of my life. I didn't just leave with memories of great nights, I left with friendships. Thanks to everyone from reception and the event volunteers for making me me feel right at home. Ana, Chiara, Antonio, and Brian, and the others Also, the cleanliness is top notch. They always have people working hard around the clock cleaning and keeping everything in order, and it shows. The place is always in great shape. As someone who always stays in hotels, I really don't lose any quality staying here. And for being a party hostel they do a great job keeping it quiet at night. Honestly this place is awesome no matter what you're looking for, especially if you want to meet friends

Sungate is a clean, affordable, and safe hostel: 1. The entire staff was excellent! Staff is super friendly and helpful to everyone. Someone called CAT checked me into the hostel, and she was super cool and very helpful during my entire stay. Go Cat!!! 2. The hostel is very clean and very social. The hostel offers many group activities during the week that anyone can participate in. So if you are traveling solo and want to hang out with others, Sungate is a great spot for that. Plus free croissants and coffee are provided each morning! 3. The hostel is in a fantastic location, which makes it easy to get to all the major attractions such as the Prado etc. 4. This hostel is quite affordable, so if you're visiting Madrid on a budget, you can't go wrong with OneFam Sungate.

My first time in a hostel, and it was amazing! Francesco was in charge of my check-in and was super kind and helpful. The quality of the amazing people running this hostel truly matches the quality of the services offered. From breakfast to dinner, walking tours, and free entrance to bars—everything adds so much more value to the experience than what you pay for. I definitely plan to stay at all the Onefam hostels around the world! I felt safe, happy, appreciated, and treated like a queen—just like at the Sheraton or Four Seasons. There’s no comparison—this place is simply the best! 🌟

I chose Onefam Sungate for my first solo experience and I just couldn't make a better choice! Location was perfect, literally in the center of Madrid; the insides were also just too good, from the rooms to the common spaces, especially bathrooms, showers, kitchen, everything was so clean and tidy, nothing out of place! But the best things this hostel has to offer are lowkey the immaculate vibes, the coolest atmosphere and the serenity that made me feel like at home!! I loved their activities and I was able to meet a lot of cool people through them, so I strongly recommend to participate. Last but not least, a big shout-out to Antonio, Joana and the entire staff, hope to see y'all soon!! <33

Perfect stay really! Hard to imagine that on such a friendly budget for Madrid, you can find everything so great. Stuff is amazing, great vibes, super helpful, they treat you like family. Hostel organizes free activities during the week that includes amazing local food, takes you out at night, if that is what you are into. Rooms are not too big, so not crowded, mattresses very comfy, good night sleep and great day vibes. Will be my default destination in Madrid if they´d have me, for sure :) Common areas clean and inviting. No notes on anything to improve, they have it all covered.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in and definitely would recommend everyone to go for it. Bang in the center of the city, exceptional staff, offers brekkie with coffee complementary, we had spanish dinners and free entry to clubs. Cleanliness on point, spacious.

Generator Madrid is a trendy hostel located in the heart of Madrid, offering contemporary rooms and dorms with a stylish design. The former gas station from the 1930s has been transformed into a modern accommodation with beachy rooftop vibes, featuring a terrace and bar where guests can enjoy tiki drinks and nightly DJ sets. The industrial-style revamp accentuates the original features of the building, creating a unique atmosphere.
The Generator was an excellent place to stay! We were a school soccer tour from Australia and it was perfecto!! The location was central to everything touristy that you need, the boys were fed extremely well three meals a day and the rooms were clean and serviced every day with beds made and rubbish removed. Amalia was a standout staff member whose service was impeccable. She looked after us incredibly well. Nothing was a problem and she was so friendly and welcoming.

Good: great value for money. Everything was nice. Well organized. For 6 we had a private room for 8. Beds clean and great location. Nice terrace. To improve: small maintenance issues. Shower door didn't close properly. Floor carpet almost worn. Note there are no towels, shampoo or soap included with dorm rooms

Visiting this rooftop in Madrid was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, with one of the best panoramic views of the city you could ask for. The service was exceptional — attentive without ever feeling rushed. What made the evening even more special was the amazing team behind it. Rena greeted us with such warmth and made us feel right at home. Queenie has an incredible eye for detail and ensured everything at our table was perfect. Eli was so friendly and brought such great energy to every interaction, really elevating the experience. And Gean Carlo… what a host! His charisma and professionalism tied everything together, making the night feel seamless and memorable. If you’re in Madrid and want a rooftop that combines stunning views, delicious drinks, and genuinely wonderful people, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

amazing place to stay! The staff was so incredibly friendly. This is located in the perfect spot of the city. It is super close to the metro! There was a great atmosphere in the hostel. The only complaint is that the shower room has a motion sensor light so it will shut off in the middle of your shower. Overall had such a great time and would recommend

Well I did not enjoy this stay. - The main problem is that I booked this place for the rooftop and the jacuzzi. And the jacuzzi was on maintenance and the rooftop was empty, no activity no bar. When I arrived no one told me that the jacuzzi was closed or apologized. - I wouldn’t have left a bad review if they had offered any sort of help, free coffee for example. - They charge to keep the luggage on the day of check out and check out is at 10am. I believe I paid 4€ for 4hours of storage 😱 There’s not much I enjoyed but these things would have been ok for me if the jacuzzi was opened like they advertised. - The place was not super clean which is something normal to me in a big hostel chain like this one. Lots of things dropped on the floor and not cleaned. - I also had a bad experience with the bar that took way too long to take my order when the bar was not packed. Not a big fan of the menu and thought it was pretty expensive for Spain. Not enough Spanish food :/ - Not a big fan of the area, probably too touristy. - The hostel did not feel social, lots of families and I didn’t know where to find people who were like me looking for people to hang out with. - Also that’s not their fault but I had a non refundable booking and I arrived too late in Madrid and could not come the first night of my booking. They did not offer anything which I get but l the jacuzzi and luggage storage problem was just too much. - Offer solutions I should not be asking for them.

Gorgeous location! So clean and many common spaces- perfect for socializing and meeting new people! Servers on the rooftop bar made the experience even better- we had the chance to meet Rena, Eli, Queenie and Gean Carlo :)

I have been travelling for 4 months, and Denise was absolutely the best receptionist I met in my entire trip. She also gave me recommendations to really nice restaurants around and I couldn't be happier. Her energy is contagious!

The breakfast buffet was lacking. For €10, I expect eggs and some sort of meat. However, the eggs and sausage were restricted to a private party. What kind of breakfast buffet only has pastries and cheese? And for €10?! Don’t get the buffet.

Youth hostel
Safestay Madrid Central is a trendy hostel offering casual dorms and private rooms, featuring an industrial-style cafe and a lively rooftop bar called Irreverente. It's known for its vibrant and young atmosphere, with budget-friendly accommodations ranging from 6-bed female dorms to 12-bed mixed dorms. The hostel spoils travelers with a robust lineup of events, including raucous pub crawls to experience Madrid's famous nightlife.
Safestay Madrid is by far the best hostel I’ve stayed in the city. The staff are very friendly and professional, always making you feel welcome. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well maintained. The location is excellent — just about 100 meters from the metro, making it super easy to get around Madrid. The atmosphere is both relaxed and social, which makes it great whether you’re traveling solo or with friends. They also serve breakfast at a very fair price, and the rooftop bar is a fantastic spot to chill and meet people in the evening. Overall, I enjoyed every single day of my stay at Safestay Madrid. I would recommend it to anyone passing through the city — whether for a short trip or a longer stay.
Elyes Y — Google review
Stayed here twice in August. Great price, clean rooms, staff is okay, but still in a good location near the center with shops and the metro nearby. Lockers are available (just bring your own lock). The only downside is that there’s no kitchen for guests, but overall a very positive experience.
El S — Google review
The hostel is well located, and I was happy to get a front 4-bed room with a balcony. The bed was clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and breakfast was basic but good for the price. The front desk staff at check-in were kind, although the process was a bit slow. There’s also a €3 charge for luggage storage, which is good to know in advance. Unfortunately, I had to check out two days early because my friend was placed in a room with no windows, which was filthy and had a strong sewer odor. When he asked for help, the management refused to switch rooms, saying none were available. They even sent someone to “inspect” the room, but instead of addressing the issue, they simply asked the other guests to shower — which was really disappointing and felt disrespectful. No resolution was offered by management Because of that, my friend couldn’t stay, and we left two nights early. It was a shame, because our first night had actually been very good. As a suggestion, I recommend lubricating all door hinges and, most importantly, showing more empathy toward guests when issues like this come up. The odor problem and poor handling by management really ruined what could have been a nice stay. Overall, our first impression was positive, but the experience that followed turned into a bad experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously — the location and potential are great, but guest care and cleanliness need improvement.
Kareem D — Google review
Only the location scores good for this place, thats it. The negatives : 1. WiFi - its a disaster and doesn't work at all. Worked for none of us in the rooms 2. The pillows are so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep on both the nights I was there 3. Luggage storage- they mention that you could store luggage with them (at a fee ofcourse) but never mention that its a tiny room which runs out of capacity. On the morning of my departure I was told they can't keep my luggage so I need to look somewhere else or walk the city with it 4. Staffing is also very sad. At any given time there's only one person present at checkout or checkin, which makes the queues enormous. This, while other staff are roaming around but not helping with check in. Whenever I crossed yhe reception there was always a queue of atleast 45 mins of frustrated travelers in line. Some staff members arent very polite either 5. Its a very basic hostel with not so many amenities and the price : quality ratio is not reasonable enough for Madrid 6. Everything costs extra including bedsheets, towels, which also is an extension of point #5
Saptak B — Google review
It is an Okay hostel for short stays. There is no kitchen but only a microwave and a boiler. The building is big and there are three floors. Showers and toilets were clean but beds didn’t have curtains. A drawback is that you have to pay extra 3€ to leave a backpack the day after, a service often provided for free by most hostels but the value for money is good. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
Ludovica R — Google review
Very loud after midnight and hostel doesn’t keep its own rules!! Also it’s very hot in the room as we closed the windows cause our room faces the road side which is very loud. The two staff working in the evening shift didn’t allow to turn on ac and explained that it’s not summer anymore and that other guests will ask for more blankets which is problematic . I don’t buy this excuse and when I booked in trip.com it literally said the room has AC! My assumption is that the hostel wants to save on electricity and doesn’t care about the guests at all! They care only about money. I have to mention that right after I gave up on trying asking—> the staff switched to talking in Spanish while I was still there which felt not nice and gave me the vibe that it was about my request.otherwise location is good. Thanks but no thanks!

Room was large and clean. Shower was powerful with a consistent temperature. Location is decent with just a short walk from busy areas and the metro. Cleaners left my private room door open after cleaning it. Also people were talking in the hall one night 12-2 and started again at 7am but the other nights were quiet.

Bastardo Hostel is a unique and trendy accommodation option in Madrid, offering a mix of relaxed rooms and dorms. It stands out as a boutique hostel, providing the benefits of a boutique hotel along with the social aspects that attract people to hostels. The hostel's central location makes it convenient for exploring top attractions in the city.
Stylish, Social, and Great Value – Loved Our Stay! Bastardo Hostel in Madrid completely exceeded our expectations. The vibe is effortlessly cool—modern, artistic, and buzzing with energy. From the edgy interiors to the laid-back common areas, every corner feels curated for travelers who appreciate both style and substance. The staff were all incredibly friendly and cool—super helpful and always up for a chat or recommendation. The bar downstairs is a real highlight, with a great atmosphere and perfect for meeting other travelers or just unwinding after a day of exploring the city. We also appreciated the thoughtful extras like free luggage storage, which made our travel plans so much easier. For the price, this place is unbeatable in terms of value. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience Madrid in a stylish, social, and wallet-friendly way. Would definitely stay here again!

The window in the room couldn't be opened and it was so stuffy that it made me feel sick and I thought I was going to faint On the booking page there was an information, that you can store your bag in the cabinet, but to lock it you have to buy a lock at the reception. For me it looks like taking advantage of people to extract some more money, little bit

Super place. Our family room was clean and well equipped. Welcome was very friendly and helpful. We were able to leave luggage there for a while after checkout. On the ground floor there is a popular bar/eatery. The hostel is located in a great neighborhood, with lots of shops and places to eat/drink. Easy access to the metro system.
DANIEL B — Google review
Great location! The hostel has two elevators, a well-equipped kitchen with a microwave, and a fridge with a clear labeling system to store your food. There’s also a washing machine and dryer available for a small fee. We stayed here mainly to visit a friend, so we didn’t join the hostel activities, but there’s plenty to do. A bar, boardgames, a rooftop terrace where you can hang out and meet other travelers, … Our 6-bed dorm was well designed, offering a decent amount of privacy even with multiple people. However, since you have to walk past other bunks to reach the bathroom, adding a curtain to each bed would be a nice touch. The beds were clean, though it looked like the area beside the mattresses hadn’t been vacuumed recently. As always in hostels, your experience depends on your roommates ours included two girls who came in around 3 a.m. and weren’t exactly quiet. Maybe a reminder about being respectful at night would help (though that should be common sense). You have to pay extra for towels in shared rooms and you need a lock for the lockers. Bringing your own towel and lock can save you a bit of money. They don’t communicated this, so that’s a minor… The staff were friendly and available 24/7. Overall, if you’re looking for a lively hostel with lots of activities and a social atmosphere, Bastardo Hostel is a great choice. If you prefer peace and quiet, you might want to book a private room instead.

Had a private room for 6, great rooms with 2 showers 2 sinks and 1 toilet. Rooms were clean with fresh bed sheets. Hostel is right beside a shopping street and near a lot of attractions, restaurants, etc.

Lots of great amenities and the staff are supper helpful. We reserved a private room and were leery about being in a hostel. This place was better then the hotels we stayed at. Air-conditioning was amazing, the bed was super comfy and the pillows were decent. Bastardo is conveniently located close to the metro and has asked restaurant and kitchen facilities inside the building.
Venessa P — Google review
Very good, except for two problems. The first is that there was a bit of dirt on the side of my mattress, so it could be cleaner. The second is that the design of the rooms is quite annoying, as the sinks are in the same room as the beds with no wall or door separating them. When one person uses a sink, everyone who is trying to sleep can hear them

2060 The Newton Hostel offers a unique and affordable experience with dorms and private rooms, free Wi-Fi, a communal kitchen, rooftop bar, and spa. The hostel is known for its energetic staff, stylish furnishings, abundant greenery, and eco-friendly amenities. Located near various amenities on a busy street, it caters to backpackers, solo travelers, families, groups, and mature travelers.
The hostel is super cute, could be a little bit cheaper but it's good value for money. Even though the rooms are big, there is privacy, the beds are comfy, the showers are hot and clean, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The location is amazing (not in the main center but pretty close by foot, and close to the subway). They are doing lots of tours and parties in the hostel, the roof top is nice too! If you are a solo travelers, I would really recommend:)

I enjoyed staying at this hostel. The main reason I booked this place over others was for the beds with curtains on them, for extra privacy. It’s a relatively social hostel with activities like walking tours and pub crawl. I personally wouldn’t recommend the pub crawl, but check out the other things and find a group of people to check out bars yourself! As a solo female I felt safe. There was one sleezy guy in the hostel who wasn’t asked to leave sadly. But other than that, it was pretty good! Everyone was friendly and I enjoyed my stay. The kitchen is pretty small but has plenty of amenities. There isn’t much chilling space so wouldn’t recommend booking if you need to work or have lots of downtime. The rooftop was a massive highlight and is pretty quiet during the day and busy at night with the in house bar. Great location! Everything within a 20 minute walk.

I booked 5 nights here and really quick booked another week or so, this place is truly like home away from home- Alejandro the great receptionist welcomed me late at night and explained everything in details, their rooftop is to die for, the kitchen has STOVE! which for me as I cook is a major thing, the beds were so comfy and the rooms were cute and nice. All across the hostel you can find these little cute details they write on each door and mirror which gives the place an extra special touch. The team were always there to help with any question, always with a smile, always welcoming. The location was awesome, I wish I could live here forever and I truly loved it. Thank you to all the lovely team who made this place so amazing for me, HIGHLY RECCOMAND THIS PLACE!

I had an unexpected situation where my bank card was stolen, and the staff went absolutely above and beyond to help me. They were kind, patient, and proactive in making sure I had everything I needed to sort things out. A special thank you to Victoria, who was incredibly helpful and understanding throughout the whole process — truly one of the most compassionate and professional people I’ve met on my travels. I’m so grateful for the support I received here — it made a stressful experience so much easier to handle. Highly recommend this place for both the great facilities and the amazing staff!

This is an awesome Hostel, I had a small problem with my reservation and it was handled quickly without issue. Andrea and Victoria are very friendly and made the check in quick even with my mistake! I then went on the day tour with Diana and she is great! Very informative and attentive. I finished the night with a pub crawl and the tour guide was awesome kept us all safe and made sure we a good time! Can’t wait to come back!

One of the best hostel experiences I’ve had. I really enjoyed my stay at 2060. The beds are private and comfortable—a huge plus if you value a bit of personal space. The entire place is clean and well-maintained, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, and the location is ideal—walking distance to most of Madrid’s highlights. I also appreciated the quiet workroom, which was perfect for getting things done during the day. The rooftop bar has a great vibe and makes it easy to meet fellow travelers. Overall, everyone—both guests and staff—were kind and open, which created a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a social yet comfortable stay in Madrid.
Alberto A — Google review
I quite enjoyed my stay in this hostel, it’s very nice that they have bikes to rent and the accommodations were modern and comfortable. they have a really nice roof deck seating area with a bar which has some amazing views of the southern part of the city. during my first day here I was on the first floor, which I had absolutely no issues with, my room was very comfortable and quiet. during my second day, I was unfortunate enough to be put in the single room they have on the ground floor, which is definitely the worst room in the hostel. you will be woken up all night by drunk tourists, coming back and waiting for the elevator very loudly. If getting a full night’s rest is important to you, ask them to stay in a different room than 001. Also it’s good to know that they don’t rent bikes at night, only during the day. overall, I had a really nice time staying at this hostel and I would probably return again in the future.

I loved staying here, and will be returning soon. I moved to this hostel after a rough night somewhere else, and it saved me. The good A\C in the middle of a blazing hot August was AMAZING. Mola! Hostel is a trendy and stylish accommodation option in Madrid, offering airy dorms with a focus on privacy and comfort. The hostel provides a calm atmosphere, making it ideal for travelers seeking quiet time while still having the opportunity to socialize in the large cafe and lounge area. Conveniently located near popular attractions such as Calderon Theater, Plaza Mayor, San Miguel Market, and Puerta del Sol, Mola!
The location is great in the center. I have a chance to talk with some people about traveling around Spain 🇪🇸. They have the price is okay for you travel solo in Madrid and save some money. They have some activities, small kitchen for service the basics food. Great place for youths to explore even for the big family, too. The staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. They all speak very good English 👍 and I am sure they speak different languages beside Spanish 😉 The receptionist is open 24/7 so they are there to help you have a comfortable stay. That's great for the service of hospitality needed 👏 👌 The room is clean and is the same in the picture 📸, but it is not like a hundred percent because the facility is getting old in the meantime. I chose the top bed 🛌 but I feel sorry every time I climb up from the stairs because it makes a big noise 😅 so annoying. I think it's time to upgrade a metal one that will be better. I saw the housekeeper clean it every. Each room, it has one tolliet and one shower 🚿 room. Just make sure to bring your own earplugs because if you stay mixed, there will be some people snoring out loud. I stayed on the first floor and next to the theater 🎥 😩 so it was double loud noise from in and outside. So please 🙏 make the note that you are not staying next to the street. PS: Bring your own lock 🔐 to lock the cabinet under your bed Highly recommended 👌!

The temperature was 35c+ and the AC was not turned on in the room. The room was full and held eight people. I asked reception three times to turn the AC on and each time they told me it was on. They only properly checked on the third time of asking because I insisted it wasnt on and to come into the room themselves to check. An absolutely horrific night's sleep where the room temperature was in the 30s because reception staff had not done their job properly. Majority of the reception staff were very unfriendly. Check in was extremely slow. I waited about 25 minutes to check in; there were only two groups in front of me. Breakfast is extremely overpriced and of poor quality. You easily find something much cheaper and substantial around Sol.

Fantastic hostel with great atmosphere.. Only issue was the rude breakfast staff :( Great place with an amazing location and very helpful, friendly staff who always greet you with a smile at the reception. The hostel clean, has a genuine communal spirit, attracting many young travelers and offering activities such as board games and pub crawls, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend staying here. The only downside was the brown haired breakfast waitress, who was quite disrespectful and rude, which slightly impacted what would otherwise have been a five-star hostel experience.
Mirjam J — Google review
The staff and facilities are exceptionally qualified, and the hostel meets all your expectations. Thanks for all. I'd also like to thank ''Maureen'' for her sincerity. I'd like to emphasize that everyone is friendly. It was a very good experience.

Very happy with our stay here. All the employees at the help desk were so kind and definitely helpful! The rooms were cleaned every day, and the location is great!

One star mainly because I lost my shoes while staying here. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but if security is not assured, no other positive aspect can make up for it. I left my room around 2 PM and returned at 6 PM, only to find my shoes missing. I initially asked the reception if we could review the security cameras outside the room to see if someone had taken them. However, the person at the desk seemed unwilling, saying the time window was too long to review. The same person also told me that I should have placed my shoes in the locker if I was leaving the room—something I’ve never been advised to do (putting your footwear in a locker) at any other hostel I’ve stayed at in Madrid. I also checked with my roommates if anyone has seen it and they were all outside during the time I left and returned to the room. Now I’ve simply been told that their superiors are aware of the situation and will update me if there’s any progress.

As it was my first experience travelling solo, the Mola Hostel made it even more pleasant than it was. The beds were really comfy and you could have the sense of privacy with the curtains and the way that the beds were built. It was a little bit difficult going up on the upper beds but thankfully I was on the bottom ones. The location is the best, you could be in all major attractions within 10 minutes of walking. The staff was really nice and helpful in general. The cleaning staff were almost everyday in our room throwing out trash etc. Plus having lockers to store your luggage after you check out was really convenient. Thank you for the stay and if I come back to Madrid I will for sure visit you again. Leo, muchas gracias por la atención y todo te esperamos en Grecia amigo 🇬🇷.

The bunk beds were very high and really unsafe. The ladder to climb up was just some narrow slippery planks with no bars on the side to hold on to. I slipped and fell, thankfully not from high up but still got some bruises. Also no safety bar or something on the side of the bed so don't roll around too much at night. Hostel itself was dark and sketchy too, I was there just one night and won't come back again.

Far Home Atocha is a trendy hostel located in the heart of Madrid, offering both dorms and private rooms. The property features modern facilities, including a common kitchen and a terrace. It is popular among professionals, students, and short-term travelers due to its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hostel occupies four floors of an old building and boasts a common room with bare-brick walls, dorms with colorful paintwork, and double rooms with wood-panelled walls.
This is the second time that I'm using this hostel. Both times I have chosen to stay in a mixed dormitory for six people. The beds do not creak, the mattresses are very comfortable, and there is a charger and a light in your space. There are free lockers available, and the showers have good pressure with lots of hot water. Everything is quite clean. Prices are OK. The reception people are friendly and helpful.

Professional and welcoming staffs. I stayed in a female dorm. The room and bed are clean. The shared showers are more spacious than I expected. The only issue I have is the patio/ outdoor common area where someone was having a call past 12am. I can hear everything in my room... Perhaps if your room is further away from the common spaces, you won't have this issue. Other than that I really enjoyed my stay!

Very clean, the location is amazing. The shared kitchen includes all the appliances that you need except stove. Beedroms are nice, you get your locker but without a lock. The bed doesn't have a curtain. You can rent a towel for a low fee which can be helpful. It's a quiet hostel, although they organise some events, it isn't very social stay.

This was a great first hostel experience for me! I had a bed in a female triple room, the room was very clean, bathrooms and showers were always clean, and the beds are not squeaky! The common area is nice as well, was able to chat with some people. The location is great, close to the train station and plenty of restaurants and shops. The only con is that there is no stove and the oven was not working so everyone could only use the microwave.

Location couldn’t have been better. I slept in the female dorm and everyone was respectful, bathroom was big & decent, lockers were nice and big. Beds were comfy. We had a balcony overlooking the street. The common area was clean, perfect for working, and the outside area was great. For a first timer staying in a hostel, i think the bar was set high!

Awful service when we arrived by the guy at the counter who had zero interest in welcoming us. As hostels stand, the only good thing about this is the location and the pillows. No curtains in the room we were in, no working WiFi despite us being given the details for WiFi use. With your eyes closed it's fine and a decent night's sleep, but incredibly basic and the room was so tiny it wasn't easy to move about it especially as a couple. Shocked by the bad service at the front desk and lack of safety so will not be returning.
Shirin R — Google review
The room i stayed in was smaller than expected and the bed not very comfortable. Bathrooms were generally clean, but some had a very bad smell. Lots of noise at night from the other occupants which could be heard very clearly through the walls. Advantage of the location which was the reason I chose it. Service was very good and receptionists kind. There is no breakfast offered, even though I thought that was included.

They will store your luggage for free from 7:00 AM in the morning. And you can hang out in a very comfortable common area until check in at 2 o’clock. I had a flight that showed up at 2:30 in the morning and did not get through customs and immigration till 330 in the morning, so I took a nice little nap on the airport floor for three hours and then took the metro straight here. It’s very close to the metro.

Way Hostel Madrid is a vibrant and relaxed property offering colorful rooms and dorms, along with a communal kitchen and free guided tours. Situated within walking distance of many of Madrid's top attractions, including the Rastro Market, this hostel is highly recommended by past guests for its convenient location, appealing design, helpful staff, and social atmosphere. The frequent tours provided are an ideal way to explore the city and get acquainted with its ins and outs.
A beautiful experience. First, it's located in a very comfortable place, near a lot of places you would want to visit while in this city. Not difficult to find. All of the receptionists that worked while I stayed were super friendly and helpful. Answering all the questions with a genuine smile on their face, being very accommodating and respectful in general. They propose various activities for the day, like joining free walking tours, or tours around local bars, some traditional food in the evening, even free snacks (and churros!!) for breakfast. The room was a little bit loud at night, and the beds cracking (I slept on the bottom one and was waking up at night sometimes due to another person sleeping on the top one and moving), which isn't a great experience. For the lockers, when I saw an empty space for the padlock, I got scared. But if you do not have one, they can give it to you for a 5€ deposit which is very nice. The kitchen is fully equipped and very comfortable to use, lots of opportunities to meet new people. The bathrooms were also comfortable. Thanks for the hosts! The space is full of people willing to communicate if you are also like that:)

Nice hostel, good location, walking distance to the center, a metro station, a few supermarkets and Restaurants etc. Kitchen was good (but a little small if multiple people were trying to cook), staff was friendly. For whatever reason keeping the luggage is only free until 8pm? Room was very warm.

Stayed here for 5 days in an 8 bed dorm. Beds have very good privacy curtains that also blockout light. Dorms and bathrooms were cleaned daily which made for a nice stay. The aircon was also very good, keeping me cool while it was 32 degrees outside.

Had a one night stay so probably not the most appropriate review considering the time stayed. But I still had a good stay. Got here at 6am on a Thursday and they let us sleep for a bit in the living room before we dropped off our begs and explored while waiting for the checkin. Nice, helpful and very accommodating staff, thank you

Very clean, good atmosphere and nice staff. You can have coffee and croissants for free and they have a nice lounge area to relax and make new friends. I highly recommend as I had a positive experience.

Really good hostel. Rooms were great and beds had curtains with a shelf and light. Did I mention AIRCON!! You will appreciate this in the Madrid summer! Bathrooms fine, social area was great and perfect wifi. Had a lot of events on. Location was awesome as well. I’d definitely recommend for sure.

Absolutely amazing. Most of the staff are very lovely and kind. The rooms are nice, clean, air conditioned, and dorms have curtains!
P.G O — Google review
Had a mostly good stay here. Firstly, the location and staff were excellent. Easy to get to everything, and the staff were super helpful and answered any questions I had. The room itself was alright. I had an 8 bed dorm with an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was small but functional. The beds were decent with curtains and a large locker, although my locker was up against the heater which made it difficult to close properly. One of the big issues with the bed for me was the personal light. It didn't turn off. Its off switch was basically a night light mode, so very dim. But when you're in a pitch black setting, very dim is a lot. There was no way that I could see to turn it completely off which was so annoying. And when it was on, it was brighter than the sun. Another problem for me is the provided blanket is not very long. I'm 6 feet tall and it went from my feet to around my chest. The common areas were good, though the music was a little loud at times, but there was enough seating and the WiFi was great for remote work. Other than the aforementioned problems, I had a great experience here and would recommend it.

The Central House Lavapiés is a trendy hostel located in the vibrant Lavapies neighborhood of Madrid. The eco-friendly property offers streamlined dorms and rooms, along with a range of amenities such as a cafe/bar, rooftop terrace with a plunge pool, and an outdoor patio. Guests can enjoy the games playroom equipped with gaming consoles, making it ideal for digital nomads looking for a comfortable workspace.
We had a great stay here for a concert. It's near the metro so it was easy to go to and from the venue. The staff was friendly and helpful. There's a fountain to refill your water bottle and it had cold water, great for a hot day in July. The common spaces are nice and spacious. We got the breakfast option. It had a lot of things to choose from and everything tasted good. The room and bathroom were nice and clean, and we didn't hear anything from other rooms.

Wonderful staff, comfortable rooms, and great vibes! They give you a free drink voucher for the bar next door which was a pleasant surprise. They have laundry amenities, coffee downstairs, and bar crawls scheduled most nights of course. A nice balance between play and rest, so you don't have to go out if you don't want to. Would definitely consider visiting this hotel again next time 😊

Not been to too many hostels, but this probably takes the #1 spot. The lobby/gathering area is so spacious, open concept, seats all around, pple could easily mingle. A small courtyard in between 2 blocks of accom. Beds are clean and comfortable, curtains available for your own privacy and lights bright enough alongside the bed. Location-wise, really central to the few places i wanted to see, all within walking distance(or perhaps it was the location that selected the sights for me).

I had a great time staying at this hostel! The atmosphere was super friendly and welcoming — it was really easy to meet people and feel at home. Everything was clean and well-organized, and the common areas were comfortable to hang out in. The staff were amazing — very helpful, kind, and always available for any questions. The location was perfect, close to the main attractions and public transport. I would definitely come back and recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a nice and social place to stay!
Levan J — Google review
The location and infrastructure of hostel is not bad but it got diminished from the get go by the staff that is quite short and unhelpful. The first day we did not have a toilet as the door was broken and we had to use the public bar toilet in a different building. We let the staff know and they said "we're not going to call a technician on the weekend because it isn't an emergency". Ultimately they just removed the door and lock so we could use the toilet but not close the door which was better than no toilet
Oscar V — Google review
Absolutely loved my stay here. Rooms were very spacious and clean, with blinds for each of the beds, giving us plenty of privacy; two showers in designated rooms with sliding doors; many very comfortable public spaces, including a wonderful rooftop terrace. Perfect location. Very cheap. 10/10.
William — Google review
I stayed there for two nights. Let me start with the positives: the reception team is excellent, and the cleaning staff as well. The rooms are clean and air-conditioned. The location is close to the city center, tourist attractions, and the metro station. What I didn’t like was having to rent towels and buy a lock compared to other hostels. As for having the bathroom and toilet inside the room, that’s normal. Note: for light sleepers who cannot tolerate noise, I don’t recommend the shared rooms, no matter which ones. Overall, I give it 4/5

I never leave reviews, but I feel like this one may be warranted to warn others- just because you have a reservation does not mean they will honor it. I booked this hostel weeks in advance and 2hr before checkin today they cancelled my stay due to overbooking. My friend who is traveling with me booked separately and at least a week after me, and her reservation was honored. Unsure of how they decide whose reservation gets cancelled when they “overbook” but it definitely isn’t on a first come first served basis as I would assume

MuchoMadrid is a casual property located right on Gran Via in the heart of Madrid, offering bright rooms, dorms, and a common kitchen. The hostel provides round-the-clock security, lockers, female-only dorms, mixed dorms, and private rooms. It also offers airport transfers for convenience. The friendly staff members are eager to help travelers explore Madrid.
Great location, on Gran Via! The room was good (4-bed), bed was comfortable, with good sized locker (they provide key, nil extra charge). Best thing was the air-conditioner worked well for above 35°C Spainish summer heat. Bathroom facilities were good, adequate. They can provide laundry service (wash & dry) for 10euro.
Justine L — Google review
I was in MuchoMadrid from November 14th to16th , 2024 I booked a room with a private bathroom. Cleaning is carried out in the room every three days and sheets as well as the towels are also change every three days. The bathroom is quite small but useful, the shower has hot water. The location of the Hostal is optimal and close to shops, restaurants and theaters. The reception service is friendly and courteous. Access to the Hostel is at the entrance of a building and then you have to take the elevator to get to the Hostel. There is no safe deposit box in the room nor is it offered at the reception. The Hostel is safe and although it is located in a very busy area on (Gran Via), the noise from the street does not bother you. The beds and pillows are good but they could be improve to have a perfect night. MuchoMadrid is a place that I could recommend for someone who wants to be in the center of a big city an enjoy dae and or night life-

Super disappointed. Can't help but feel like I was robbed. This is not what I paid for. Advertised with air conditioning, but there's no way to control it so we couldn't even use it. It never turned on the entire time we were there. I was unable to get a good night's rest because I was sweating trying to fall asleep every night. The bathroom was absolutely filthy and disgusting. Mold in the shower door, walls, floor. They also left the previous guests razor in there for us to use! Very kind of them. 😮‍💨 Beds came with only one pillow each and we're unbelievably uncomfortable. I never slept more than a few hours every night. You can hear everything going on in the halls all night long. There was a baby screaming all morning long in a room down the hall that was unbelievably loud. Lastly, we couldn't even use our toilet to put our toilet paper into which means every morning when I had to use the bathroom, I had to go find a cafe to use and then return to take a shower. I'm not throwing my used toilet paper in the garbage so that my whole room smells like feces. I was going to leave 2 stars, but upon checkout the lady at the front desk didn't even bother to ask how our stay was. The only good thing was the gentleman at the front desk was able to wash and dry our clothes for €10. I really can't help but feel like I was taken advantage of and robbed blind. This is absolutely not what I paid for and not what was advertised. I paid double what this should've cost. Also, reading these other reviews I can't help but like they are fake. Will absolutely not be coming back.

The location is very good in the city center at the main street. Rooms are clean, cozy and quiet. The breakfasts are rather poor in French style i.e. sweet cake, toast etc., juice, fruit. You can prepare something in the kitchen. The bathrooms are outside the rooms and they are clean.
Kacper S — Google review
Very average place with a somewhat convenient location. I would describe this place as basically one of those pod type hotels where you just come back and sleep and there's not much space for anything else. The bathroom in the room is super teeny tiny; I'm 5'1 and my knees were almost hitting the wall from the toilet. The service is also not very friendly, but good enough for the location and price. Note: Visited in January 2020, but catching up reviews because of COVID.
Tracy S — Google review
It's steps away from two very convenient metro stations, and of course need I repeat that it's situated on Madrid's Gran Via. That's like saying you stay on New York's Times Square. So yeah, it does get a little noisy after 10 p.m. when the musical-going crowd files out after watching Lion King. But hey, at least you have a good view of them and everything that goes on along Gran Via from your balcony. I felt the pictures were a little misleading. It's not a bad hostel by any means. I mean, just its address on Gran Via makes it good value for money. However, if you have stayed in many hostels, I'm sure some hostels tend to hit above the bar and really make for a memorable stay. This one, though, is just a place you return to sleep at night. There's no social vibe to speak of, no fancy or spacious lounge or common area to mingle with fellow travellers. It's basically an apartment carved out into different rooms for people to sleep. The kitchen is small and narrow, and the bar stools are so uncomfortable and pointless that I would rather stand and eat my breakfast than sit on it. On the topic of breakfast, don't expect much, so you wouldn't be disappointed.
Matsuri J — Google review
A hostel very close to Plaza Espana metro station in Madrid on Gran Via street. This street is filled with buildings with great architectural view of old times, so you'll love it. However, there is no sign board to recognize the hostel, you've to match the building number and you'll find the name on list inside the building (it's on 7th floor). The staffs were friendly. The room was very good with comfortable bed. Towel is provided. Standard breakfast was provided. There is a locker inside room to protect your valuables. Toilets were very neat and clean. Overall, its a great hostel at a very reasonable price.

The hostel was very nice. The lundery was able to accommodate 8 people. The dryers worked very well and dried everything completely. The staff at the desk was nice. The security was good. They also provided a free breakfast for our group. As well as having 3 showers and bathrooms.

Room007 Ventura Hostel is a vibrant and bohemian accommodation in the heart of Madrid. The hostel offers various room types including double rooms, family rooms, and single beds within dormitories. Guests can enjoy complimentary toiletries, linens, and towels in their rooms. The on-site restaurant with a rooftop terrace provides a great dining experience while the bar offers refreshing drinks. Free WiFi is available throughout the hostel.
Exceptionally well located, near everything you want to know of Madrid. Super safe and the style is very cozy. The street to access it is narrow, think that makes it excellent to create a refreshing environment, especially in summer times. Inside the hotel, in particular at the tables section it was not that fresh. You're gonna be sweating a bit But the best, the price. If I'd planned my stays a bit better, I'd have spent a whole week there.

The staff was very nice, hostel was clean and comfortable. Rooms are not too crowded, with space to move. Showers are big, with hot water. AC in the rooms. Lockers with key. Great location, very close to city centre. Really don’t have nothing to complain about! Highly recommend
Ayelet S — Google review
Room 17 is extremely hot with a broken AC. DO NOT ACCEPT BED IN ROOM 17 unless you enjoy sleeping in +40 degrees (98 degrees) during the summer. I was offered free breakfast as compensation for paying for a bed and not being able to sleep because the AC is broken. The breakfast was fine but I would rather preferred a 50% refund since I wasn’t able to sleep at all. The location is great. The staff was really kind and friendly. I love them actually. They are missing out on so much revenue from bar sales by not having their bars open and staffed. This should have been opened June 1. You have the space and the set up! You just need to do it! There’s no reason why mid June you aren’t having happy hour, music, drinking games, etc going on! Missed opportunity! Highly unlikely I’ll return to this hostel in the future mainly because my room was too hot, beds do not have privacy curtains at all, and the bathroom is inside the room so it wakes everyone up when someone gets up in the middle up of the night to use the toilet or shower. I don’t wanna hear that to be honest !

I have not written many reviews throughout my life; however, I wanted to write one as it concerns being extremely cautious about your property. I recommend everyone keep their phone with them at all times. I had my phone stolen by someone who had access to the room I was residing in. I went to use the restroom and heard someone come in and leave, and when I came out, all of my roommates were asleep, but my phone was gone. I spoke to the staff, and they were not very cooperative in the means of helping me discover who came into the room, for no one is supposed to have access to the room but those who are assigned that room, and the staff. Again, ALL of the roommates were asleep when I went into the restroom and out of the restroom.
Christopher A — Google review
Friendly staff, amazing location, but terrible room. It's summer, and the AC in room 17 was broken, so they wheeled in this small AC unit that dispensed cool air but only by exhausting hot air out the back. Since hot air rises and since I was in a top bunk near the AC unit, I was absolutely boiled up there. Turning off the air conditioning actually made things more bearable.
Planetary F — Google review
This hotel should invest in door stoppers or competent staff that comes warn the screaming people who do that because I've never heard more slammed doors in my life. Starting at about 6:30 am and ending in the middle of the night, every night. But if it's the same staff that takes 20+ silent, uncomfortable minutes to check clients in, might as well forget about it. The mattress was also the most uncomfortable one we've had in years, massive hole in the middle that had us literally sinking, bodies all twisted and aching when waking up. We told the reception and of course they told us they couldn't do anything about it (even tried to tell us that it was the first time they ever heard a comment like that...) so we had to put one of our two pillows under the mattress to support it. The location and the private room's amenities are quite good aside from that and I could've said quite clean if it weren't for the men's dirty shirt and boxers left behind the door when we arrived and the sticky floor.
Mai M — Google review
Worst hostel experience – Room 00 Madrid (Ventura Unity). They use a weak, ineffective AC and keep the windows open, making the rooms even hotter than outside — and it was 38°C in Madrid. Impossible to sleep or stay indoors. No proper common areas, dirty facilities, Wi-Fi doesn’t work, and overall poor maintenance. The only positive point is that the staff was polite. This place still needs urgent inspection and fines. Avoid at all costs.
Fabio V — Google review
It's in a very good central location, but the AC doesn't work. Its been 35 degrees everyday and you never get a break from the heat. Very uncomfortable to sleep in. The lockers were also so small that none of us could put our bags inside and had to leave everything out in the open.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! Scout is quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The backyard and garden are amazing—especially for a morning coffee. Beds and showers were super clean, and I rented a towel and did all my laundry easily. The breakfast was awesome, with plenty of options. The staff was extremely helpful—friendly, professional, and spoke English very well, which made everything easier. The place is big, welcoming, and has a great atmosphere. Plus, the metro is just one block away. Highly recommend

Despite having had some issues because for some reasons my booking was canceled, the stuff was extremely kind to help. I highly suggest that if you booked through their website call before to make sure everything is ok, I believe their software have problems, one of my roommate booked a female room but was in a mixed. In any case for the price you pay you get a very good place and I can just recommend it, even the breakfast it’s not bad at all so a big bonus! Last thing to keep in mind is that you get to see people from all ages and mainly from Spain (at least on my stay that’s what I saw), if your point is to have some fun, meeting a lot of people this place may not be your type.
Anton R — Google review
The staff is really nice and helpful. It is just a hostel, you get what you pay for. I don’t understand negative comments. Breakfast was typical Spanish breakfast. Tomato and olive oil is a perfect match. We stayed there for a week and it was all good. Will definitely come back when we have a chance again. Special thanks to Miros & Bea and other staff, being always so kind to us and making our stay very special 🫶🏻

It was the worst experience in my life, without exaggerating. NEVER go there. Plenty of bedbugs, cockroaches… No paper in the toilets. The food is so unhealthy… on the breakfast u get just sugar and dough… No balance in the diet, no variety, just the cheapest food. The water spills from the sink everywhere. Also the district is dangerous. My friends went to the park where the man with a gun showed up.

Huge cockroaches in the stairs and in the showers. But worse than that, bedbugs. Me and my friends we got several bites through the night. :( Now we are really worried about taken them to our homes. This is awful. Plus, they don't check the bathroom daily and you can run out of paper too. The breakfast doesn't have any kind of protein, only sweet stuff, not even cheese nor eggs. I will not come back and don't recommend it at all.

Many Cockroaches they have to face this problem with experts. The dishes was awful , without variety and only sugar based breakfast. The lunch and dinner very bad just trying to eat for surviving. The plates and glasses were very dirty I can’t understand how you serve food in dirty plates! I wouldn’t give money to stay again there .

Excellent experience. Air conditioner in every room. Clean and cheap. Near from a bus stop. The hostel offers simple dorms and rooms with free Wi-Fi, a kitchen for guests to use, and a rooftop terrace.
Very nice hostel in general! We stayed in both a 4 bed mixed dorm and a private room and both were very nice. The private rooms were actually much better than any private room we’ve stayed at in a hostel before this - it almost felt like a hotel! Overall, very cheap and clean. Surprisingly quiet given the location is on a bustling street too - I’m a very light sleeper but had no issues sleeping. The only thing worth mentioning is that the lockers don’t really work with a small lock (you can just push them out of the way and unlock the locker), so bring or buy a thick lock to keep your belongings safe.

Very happy with my experience at Barbieri Sol. We stayed in the four bed private area. It was quiet, clean, and the terrace was lovely. Other guests seemed friendly. Bathrooms were clean. Overall, an excellent experience and a great place to stay to enjoy the city of Madrid.

Good hostel - Beds are comfy, staff is friendly and accommodating, atmosphere is quiet. The location is very central & on a very busy street. This is not the hostels fault of course, but I would advise bringing earplugs as the noise will not stop until the early morning hours.

Central location, which means on the weekend it is going to be loud until 6am. To be expected in Madrid. The problem with that is there is no supervision or kitchen at night. Groups of partiers came in at 2, 3, then 5:30, woke everyone up and... No staff. When I originally arrived at 3 am off a long flight, I couldn't check in and had to pay for another hotel. There is also no heat, so it was cold as balls. The woman running the show was nice, but when I cancelled my second night, she had no problem rerenting the room but... No refund. Oh well. Buyer beware :)

Great hostel! Large and well equipped kitchen. Fair breakfast served for free every morning! Clean and nice facilities. I was in a bunch of rooms, all were well kept, spacious and clean. It's right by the center of town, in a hippie neighborhood, surrounded by bars and little local restaurants. The receptionists where all kind and helpful explaining about the area and things to do in Madrid.

Great place! The location is very handy, near a busy street full of bars and restaurants from Chinese to Mexican food. The rooms are spacious and warm (extra blankets available in reception but no need because there is AC). The bathroom was cleaned and modern. Breakfast is complete: coffee, juice, croissants, toasts... 100% recommended!

Staff was all very kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The free breakfast was filling and tasty. Rare for a hostel. It was the perfect way to start your day. Only problem was there was a school of teenagers staying there on a trip and they made a lot of raucous. Not the hostel's fault, but perhaps be careful next time on how many students you allow at once to not bother the rest of the guests. Overall, I'd recommend this place.

The location is great, it's close to many bars and restaurants and I felt it was still within walking distance of sights we wanted to see during the day. The room was the perfect size for two, and the private bathroom was great. The free breakfast was also wonderful. My only complaint is that you can hear everything that's going in the hostel outside of your room.

Staff here have been so nice, very friendly and cheerful. The place has good energy as a whole and is pretty clean. Everyone I've met has been in a good mood. The rooms are cool, it won't blow you away but worth the price. Also being able to store your stuff in even after checking out is such a God send, although I would really question the overall security (I heard no problems, but I could see how something could go wrong).

Pretty cool little hostel in a great area in Madrid. I stayed here in November in one of the 8 person rooms. I wanted to get the European Hostel experience and this place didn’t disappoint. The room was pretty clean. The bunk bed was actually a pretty good size. The bathroom was clean as well. The free breakfast we nice. Not the most amazing good options.. but it was nice considering it was free. There were some cool people staying here that seemed like a lot of fun! I recommend staying here!

Rooms were a little bit dark but otherwise very clean and spacious. The hostel is in the middle of the Malasaña neighbourhood which has a lot of restaurants and bars and is very young, full of independent stores and bookshops. The personal was very friendly. Everyday breakfast is served with everything you need to start your day. For the price. Would recommend 100%

Motion Hostel Chueca offers a simple yet comfortable stay with dorms and private rooms, along with complimentary breakfast. While check-in may take some time, guests have the option to choose between upper or lower bunks. However, the lower bunk mattresses are quite tall, making it difficult to sit up for shorter individuals. The hostel provides lockers in the rooms, but some may not secure properly. Despite being housed in an older building, the overall cleanliness is satisfactory.
5/5 dont listen to the negative reviews, the place is great and the 8 bunk room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. Washroom smelled a little sometimes but thats only cause people always close the door to it when it needs to likely just be open to air out. - clean - comfortable - affordable for madrid - PERFECT LOCATION!

I came here with my mum for a night and it was quite good. We had a private twin room with a bathroom, and they were basic but clean. The location is great, but quite noisy. The breakfast had a great value for the food and there's some photos of what we had. Luckily we didn't see the angry receptionist who I keep seeing reviews about with a cat tattoo. We had a nice chill guy instead.

Last day and no hot water to have a shower, I couldn't wash my hair just a quick one with frozen water. The place smells really bad. Breakfast is awful, not enough space to sit down, the bar is tiny and picking the small pieces of cookies with barehands and recicle with a new bunch of them seems nasty..
Cintia G — Google review
They turn of the air conditions at 5.00 am to torture you untill 11.00 am. Lockers are small. No kitchen access. It's all because they are providing cheap cost hostel seats. Idk why they provide free Breakfast? 🥱

Far Home Bernabeu is a casual hostel located in the Financial District of Madrid, just 10 minutes away from the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. It offers a variety of accommodation options including private rooms and female-only dorms, all equipped with desks, individual lockers, and air conditioning. The hostel provides stellar amenities such as free Wi-Fi and 24-hour computers, making it an ideal choice for remote workers.
Excellent location. Got an offer and paid 19 euros for a one night stay in a 4 room. Very well organised, counter staff are here overnight, so I had no issues even though I arrived at 1+am. They allowed guests to leave their luggage in the luggage room till evening if necessary to accommodate storage. Would recommend.

We enjoyed a 3-night stay in an Economy Double Room, Private Bathroom from July 10 - 13. The facilities were modern and clean, the room was small but well-equipped, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Being located just minutes away from Estrecho metro station was one of the best things about this hotel, as were its proximity to shops and restaurants was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Leigh M — Google review
Room are comfortable, staff is very friendly. There are a lot of common areas to relax in or work. Walls are thin so take earplugs if you're sensitive to noise. One suggestion would be adding a small shelf in the bathroom to have some space to put toiletries (room 406) Great place
June A — Google review
We really Enjoyed our stay here. Shower is amazing. Great bed. It was very clean and we did not have the breakfast, And it looked amazing, but we ran out of time. The only real challenge we had was that we could not get the shower light or fan to work. How do you recommend this place.
Gary D — Google review
All in all, the hostel is fine, but single room is a bit overpriced for the given quality. I stayed in a single room with a private shower. The room was fine — super small, just enough space for a large bed and a foldable table. But it worked well for one person, especially if you're just sleeping there and spending the day out. The shared kitchen was clean and handy, and they offer a basic €8 breakfast if you’re in a rush. Staff were friendly and really tried to help when something came up. I didn’t hear any noise from other guests, but the street noise lasted pretty late. A few things to keep in mind: - The shower gel and shampoo came in little sachets, which were awkward to use. Even budget hotels usually have bottles — would be a small upgrade that makes a difference. - The first night, my air conditioner was totally broken. I almost checked out, but the staff moved me to another room (with a shared bathroom — not very clean, unfortunately) for the night. They were helpful and checked multiple rooms for a fix. The AC was fixed the next day, and from then on, it was all good. - Wi-Fi was slow. Definitely not good enough for streaming or anything heavy.
Anton — Google review
My favorite thing about this place is that it is less than 2 blocks from the Estrecho metro station! It also has clean rooms with plenty of surfaces, table, chairs and hangers, a full length mirror, clean (shared) bathrooms - and a kitchen, coffeemaker, lounge place downstairs. It’s decorated in a fun way and there is 24 hour service at the desk. It was perfect for our short stay in Madrid!

LATROUPE Prado Hostel Madrid is a casual hostel located in a V-shaped corner building between the Atocha train station and the Reina Sofia art museum. The place offers informal dorms and private rooms, some with balconies. It has a restaurant and bar, making it feel more like a hotel than a typical hostel. The atmosphere is family-friendly, with clean and well-organized spaces including seating areas, a library, and laundry facilities in the basement.
We stayed in the private four bed room with our two under 11’s. The room is compact, but designed really well. It’s very clean and despite being next to a busy area the room was very quiet the air conditioning was perfect too. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel to keep cost down, however there are several supermarkets very close by. It’s very close to the railway station and not too far to walk into Madrid itself. Great to be able to leave our luggage at no extra cost when we checked out too, as we didn’t leave Madrid until late afternoon. Very nice staff too and nice hotel ambiance. Highly recommended!
Howard S — Google review
Very good for a hostel. Very clean, well organized, rooms available for families without sharing. Reception staff were very helpful. One person went out of his way to tell us about places to eat, detailed info about the metro we needed to take for our destination, even have a train card so we can just top-off without having to buy one. I recommend it for short trips.
Turgut D — Google review
I stayed in this hostel for one night and had a fantastic experience! Right from check in, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Though they knew I spoke English, they asked/offered to speak in Spanish to help me practice if I wanted, which I did! I arrived early and was able to use the storage lockers. I stayed in a 4 bed all female dorm. The room was clean, spacious and had large locker drawers for each person. I participated in the Saturday night pub crawl - so much fun and met awesome people!!! The location is great, not right in the center so its quieter, but still close enough to walk everywhere and super close to the Atocha station. Breakfast was amazing. I will definitely stay here again! Book in advance for best value.

I stayed at Latroupe Hostel for just one night, but it was a great experience! The bed was clean and comfy, and they provided a personal lock for extra security. Bathrooms were well-maintained and even had gel and shampoo available, which was a nice touch. There’s a laundry room and lockers downstairs—super convenient. The location is perfect: very close to the train station and just a 10-minute walk to all the main sights in Madrid. Definitely recommend for travelers looking for a clean, safe, and well-located place to stay.
Toufic M — Google review
Very comfortable and I slept good here, a bit noisy from the street though. But for 60 euros a night in a shared room, they still try to get as much money out of you as they can. I had to pay 3 euros to use a towel, you had to pay to store luggage, and worst of all there isn’t even a fridge. I had to throw out all of my food upon arrival. Premium price for absolutely zero amenities. Loss of lunch plus extra towel added another 15 euros which puts me at 75 for a hostel…
Owns D — Google review
I had stayed at the LaTroupe in Sevilla so decided to stay at the same here in Madrid. Good communication when I emailed about arriving early in the morning. The woman at the check in was very nice and helpful when there was a mix up with someone in the bed I was given. Unlike the other LaTrouoe, you need to pay for storing your bags. They have a fancy locker set up in the basement that is easy to use but it was another 8 euro to use. The dorm room was fine. A bit warm but had all the necessary things such as an outlet, storage etc.. Some shared spaces around for relaxing or doing work. The hostel is located right next to the Reina Sofia Museum and close to the metro and the train station which makes it very convenient. Would definitely recommend for a night or two.
Austin K — Google review
Good facilities, very comfy beds - the bathrooms inside the dorms are not a good idea as they keep everyone awake. The worst check in and interactions with staff i ever had. Arrogant people work there so either management is horrible and people work frustrated or that's their whole bussiness plan to hire people that don't give a damn about being kind, helpful or express any kind of human behaviour - could be replaced by robots if thats the case ... Reported the experience i had on their online feedback form and never received a response... If you don't care about this, is a central and clean place to sleep - not a hostel though!
Ana A — Google review
Facility are good. There's the bathroom inside the dorm, included a sink. So being quietful at night, if you wash yourself, it's just impossible. Not much sense of community either. Yet, works fine if you want a place to sleep. Bed are comfy.

CATS Chill Out Hostel is located in a former 17th-century palace just moments away from Puerta del Sol. The hostel features simple dorms and private rooms, as well as a rooftop terrace, shared kitchen, and complimentary breakfast. The bohemian centerpiece of the hostel is its beautiful courtyard where travelers can relax on giant cushions under a glass ceiling with Moorish patterns. In the evening, it transforms into a social space offering tapas and free homemade sangria.
Hostel is located in a very central location, very close to main train station. has very friendly staff and offer great deals for day tours and also about drinks/dinner in hostel. Main lobby area is very convenient for socializing with other travelers. Male/female separate WC and showers, +3 euro to rent towel. Totally recommended place
Orestis A — Google review
Awesome spot, an hostel more focus on the comfort of the common areas and quiet. Good bathroom for what you pay, but the room itself could be a bit more spacious, but even so very confortable. For being a quiet hostel it's awesome to drink a beer or the free coffee. Sadly could see the outside bar because of the weather.
André O — Google review
We stayed here for only a night. It was a pleasant stay. They have AC which is controlled by the reception so have to walk to get it on. Toilets are shared by the whole floor, even though the rooms can be private. Also, they charge per person two euros for storing the bags on your check out day. Breakfast is good. Private rooms are also provided with towels, shampoo, body wash, and blankets.
Prajakta J — Google review
Probably the worst hostel experience I’ve had. It’s a great place to stay if you just need a place to sleep, the beds are comfy, the key-system was good, the staff was quite friendly and helpful. But if you’re staying in a hostel to make friends/meet other backpackers like I was then DO NOT stay here. The place was filled with two big groups of school children probably around 14 years old, around 50 in total.. So that really ruined the backpacker atmosphere. Also the free dinner that was supposed to be on Thursday night was canceled for no apparent reason, the tapas tour on Friday that I planned my day around was cancelled when it was supposed to start because I was the only one who wanted to do it, and so was the walking tour at that starts at 12 that I wanted to do on Saturday. The bar crawl on Thursday was almost cancelled as well, but they ended up doing it when we were finally three people who wanted to go. Met a few people from Way hostel on the classic free walking tour and they really enjoyed the hostel, so I actually booked my last two nights there after being a bit fed up with the hostel. Didn’t end up actually moving as Way hostel let me eat dinner there and join their pub crawl where I finally made some friends! All the people I talked to at Way’s were really happy with the hostel, and all the people I talked to at CATS were pretty disappointed so if your not sure where to stay and are looking for some atmosphere/to make friends I would REALLY recommend choosing Way hostel instead!
Sara H — Google review
This is a great cheap hostel. Don’t expect much for what your paying. The roof terrace is nice but visitors don’t really use it much. They do have a rooftop bar with happy hour-nice! The doors...oh my goodness the terrible doors. It takes a concentrated genius to open the locks to your room. I don’t know where they found this technology but it is terrible. Decent place other then that.
Biruk M — Google review
Nice, central location. Staff is friendly, happy hour gives you cheap drinks. Rooms, however, are just too small and air conditioning can only be turned on/off by asking reception. At night, the rooms are either freezing cold because of the air conditioning or boiling hot.
David K — Google review
The hostel as a whole was quiet nice. But if they give you room 108, run. It's cramp with 6 beds in a room that should really have 4 max. No window so feels like a prison cell. Aircon worked like 50% of the time and from what I've seen from other reviews staff will just brush this off saying "it's an old building, what do you want us to do about it" Now on the positives. The lady on the bar was absolutely amazing, and the drinks were quite cheap. The rooftop was gorgeous. Pizza they served was very nice and a good price. Breakfast was great. If you get any other room other than 108 (And I'm assuming 109, 208, 209, 308, 309) then you'll have an amazing time as the other rooms looked great. Just unfortunate that we were put into a room that should either not be a room, a private double room, or (at a push) and 4 man dorm, 100% should not have 6 people in there. The photos taken were taken at 2 in the afternoon (lights couldn't be turned on as there was a permante resident who was always sleeping during the day)

Onefam Madrid is the best hostel I have stayed in by far. The man at the front desk, Angel, offers the best customer service experience. Petit Hostel Palacio Real is a welcoming place for all kinds of travelers visiting Madrid. Whether you're a backpacker, music enthusiast, or part of a large group, this hostel caters to everyone. The staff is helpful and ensures that guests have a comfortable stay with amenities such as private curtains around the beds, lockers, and provided towels. While some cleanliness issues were noted in shared spaces, the overall experience was highly praised by visitors who found the rooms exceptional and cozy.
Had very lovely stay! Room and bathroom were perfectly clean, breakfast was delicious and also all of the processes (check in/out or baggage storage) very smooth. Special thanks goes to the reception and its Peruvian part thanks to which I felt more than welcome ❤️

Very nice hostel, clean and everything is actually working. Modern locking system for doors and room lockers and Airconditioning not blowing at you in your face/body. Privacy curtains are are great. We rented a 8bed room for the family. Only challenge to be aware of is the space is tiny and almost impossible to have all people in the room at the same time and specially doing check in and out at the same time. There is only 1 private shower in the room and one additional in the corridor to use.
Paul L — Google review
I’m a solo traveler and stayed here for two nights in a 4-bed dorm. The hostel has a very welcoming atmosphere, and the rooms are clean and smell fresh. The Wi-Fi works great. Breakfast could use a bit more variety in my opinion, but overall, I had a really good experience. Renato and the rest of the staff were super nice and pleasant. I’d definitely stay here again on my next visit to Madrid. I highly recommend!
Ron R — Google review
Very good location, 5 minutes from the train station, close to the city center as well as a beautiful park for your morning runs. The woman at the reception is a super nice person. The room was quite good and clean, the bed was very comfortable except the pillow felt a little bit low for me. There are also lockers to store your stuff but it was paid which is sad a little. The breakfast was quite decent: cereals, bread, cheese and ham, fruits, cafe, tea, milk... Overall, if not a 5, at least a 4,5.
Tunahan T — Google review
Best place to travel on a budget. I really liked staying at this hostel. The rooms are clean and beds offer good privacy having their curtains. Staff are kind and available for requests. In the kitchen there is no stove but there are microwaves , toaster and air fryer.
Federico R — Google review
Really great hostel! The hosts are very kind, helped me with some issues, the space is pretty and clean, beds are quite private. The age of guests is quite high and there’s quite a lot of men, so not much socializing, but honestly if you’re just here to sleep it’s all good. Like that they have a fridge too stocked with drinks once all the stores close. Location is safe and close to attractions and Pio train station. Good experience overall!
Keana C — Google review
This is quite a small hostel overall. When I checked in, the old Chinese lady at the reception was not friendly. I waited in line, but when it was my turn, she told me my room was not ready. I asked if she had any idea when it would be, and she said she didn’t know. On the website it clearly states check-in time is 3pm. I had to wait about 30 minutes without even having lunch, and she never apologized. She kept a blank expression the whole time, and the other female staff member was the same. The hostel itself is not suitable for international travelers. It is very small, everything happens in the reception/living room area, there is no balcony, no proper common space to work or relax, and no real dining area. Guests don’t really interact with each other. The atmosphere feels strange, mostly because the staff seem uninterested and only focused on making money rather than sharing any travel spirit or hospitality.

The check-in is automatic by a machine, I used a similar before so it wasn't very challenging and there's always a possibility to call for help. I've met Boris, one of the receptionists, he's really nice 😁 Overall, a really nice place, one of the most calm and cleanest hostels I've been in.

I don't understand why this place has high reviews. I've stayed in MANY hostels in many different countries over the last 15 years. But never did I cut my stay short and just forgo the money I paid. But that is how poorly I slept my first night in this hostel. What I don't understand is how you can stuff 8 people into a tiny room with no open window and absolutely no air conditioning at night. I felt like I was suffocating in a coffin. Mind you, this is mid October when there was lovely fresh air at night, but there was no way to open a window because all the rooms are underground. So even though it was cool and crisp outside, it was absolutely BOILING inside the room the entire night. I maybe slept 2 out of the 8 hours I attempted. By early morning, I knew I had to go. I asked if they'd refund me for the 2nd night I paid for, but they refused. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND unless you enjoy sleeping in sauna-like temperatures. The only pro is I liked the central location, and the Peruvian girl who greeted me at the door had a lovely personality.

No free breakfast for this review🫠 1) Self check-in does not work, the screen is blacked out (dead pixels) and the speaker from the ring bell does not work properly at all you can’t hear properly the person. 2) air conditioning does not work well, again, the room gets really hot during the night when you need to sleep and rest. ———————————— This hostel has everything to be rated 5 stars without offering anything in return, but seems the owner doesn’t care about it, beds are comfortable, Julieta from the hostel is pretty friendly, cleaning lady does an amazing job.

Bad, too much technology for something that should be simple. Room has no ventilation at all, felt like a cave. Could not rest. Someone was sleeping in the bed that was assigned to me. I used the free bed on the top of the bunk and 2 am someone showed up claiming that was "his" bed. No towels in the locker as stated. Whatsup is useless because is a AI answers. Not coming back.

The staff and rooms were amazing with a supermarket only a block away. We recently stayed in early August and everyone was so helpful. We weren’t next to downtown but it gave us a chance to walk and get peaceful sleep at night. Boris was a great help as well.

The rooms are nice and clean, but you will be HOT AS HELL. They tell you the ac is not working properly, but it's a lie. One day it's cool and the next day it's super hot. They're just trying to save money AT YOUR EXPENSE, by not turning up the ac and making everyone suffer instead. They don't really care about your comfort, the room is so hot, you'll wish you booked somewhere else. The room is so hot, you can't even breathe. You'll be sleeping in your sweat, and management doesn't give a shit.

Dorm room for 8 people, about 20 m², with a bathroom that has no window and no ventilation system. Imagine a room that has never been aired out, where the smell of shoes, sleep, and even the toilet just lingers all the time. The “kitchen” has no sink and no stove : you actually have to go to the toilet to wash your dishes. As for the refrigerator, they put a tiny minibar for all the hostel guests : it wouldn’t even meet the needs of two people. I trusted the positive reviews when booking this hostel, but apparently, those who rated it highly must be used to living in even worse conditions than this place.

Very nice room! There is air conditioning, shower room and hair dryer, and separate toilet and shower area☺️Perfect for this price! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the wifi is also very good. If I come to Madrid again in the future, I will stay here again😜😜

Hostelfly Madrid Airport is a convenient mixed dormitory accommodation located just a 20-minute walk from the airport, making it an ideal choice for travelers with long layovers. The hostel offers a common room with a small kitchenette and a pleasant terrace featuring a swimming pool. Guests appreciate the easy and friendly check-in process, cleanliness of the facilities, and helpful staff. However, some find the rooms to be cramped and note that the bathrooms are quite small.
Very clean hostel, the bathrooms are fine, the beds are comfortable, the towels are new and fresh. Everything one needs to stay for one night between the flights. The area around is also nice, very calm. There are two things that I think could be improved: - there should be guides on how to get to the hostel, the name suggests it is 5 min away from the airport - in fact it is 25 min by foot (and the uber is 10€...) - the light in the bathroom is VERY annoying - it goes down every 30 seconds unless one is in constant movement

If you’re looking for a place near Barajas Airport that ticks the boxes for cleanliness and comfort, this hotel gets it right. The room was spotless, the bed super comfy. Bonus points for the handy amenities: shower gel, hand soap, a hair dryer, towels plus a few communal perks near reception like a microwave, fridge, and a vending machine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Having both an elevator and a basement luggage room made things easier. Location, wise, it’s ideal for airport access, but not great if you're planning to explore Madrid’s city center, you’ll end up spending quite a bit on transport. Downsides? The room keycard system had issues; I had to reset it at reception twice. The room size was small. Also, a door stopper hidden behind the room’s door caught my foot, right next to the sink, where you wouldn’t expect it. They could use a mat outside the shower. Overall, great for a quick layover or flight-friendly stay, but maybe skip it if you're in Madrid for sightseeing.

Decent hostel close to the airport The hostel is conveniently located near the airport. There are self-service kiosks for coffee, tea, chips, and chocolates, and even some free food options with basic ingredients like pasta and rice — you can cook your own meals in the open kitchen. The Wi-Fi is good, and the overall ambience is pleasant for a hostel stay. However, walking through the nearby lanes can feel a bit unsettling as the area is usually deserted. One concern worth mentioning — the lady at the reception during the daytime behaves quite rudely, especially toward non-white guests, which was disappointing. The rest of the staff, though, are polite and helpful. The biggest issue is the sensor-based lighting, particularly in the bathrooms. The lights turn off every 30 seconds to a minute, leaving you in complete darkness — it’s honestly frustrating. Also, they don’t clean or change the bedsheets daily. Overall, it’s a decent stay if you value proximity to the airport and a cozy hostel vibe, but there’s definitely room for improvement in hospitality and facilities.

5 min cab from the airport, room was clean bed was very comfy, set up of rooms was great. Locker under your bed for suitcase, had a private shower and toilet in the room so only used by the people in the dorm. Vending machines, microwave etc in lobby. Nice patio area outside with a small pool. Stayed as a stop over due to change of flight would highly recommend for this or if trying to visit on a budget

It is, indeed, walking distance away from T2/T3. However, the T3 and nearby exits are closed during the night, so i had to walk from the middle of T2. It took around 15 minutes to find the place. It has some parking space infront for like 10-15 cars. The checkin was fast. The staff speaks many languages and are very welcoming and kind. The room was amazing. Rooms are card-key locked. The room had a shower, sink and toilet inside, all separated. Everything is squicky clean. Towel was provided, shower had gel and toilet had paper. The bed frame was rock solid. It didnt make any sound even when a person climbed to the upper bed. There is a dimmed room light enough to see everything and not bother others. Bed has a socket and a personal bright light. There is also a card locked locker. Room, shower and toilet had decent sound isolation. Though this is the best hostel i ever stayed, i couldn't really sleep because of the mattres. However, it was much better than sitting in the airport. It could've been nice to have extra sink in toilet or shower room to not bother sleeping people if you

Great as an in and out place. Super clean and modern. You can walk to/from the airport. There are a lot of restaurants aeound. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is because it is really an in and out place which doesn't allow for the same social vibe as other hostels. However, it does what it does the best possible way.

The hostel is modern and clean, and the staff are friendly. I didn’t expect to have the best night’s sleep since I was sharing a room and had to wake up early for a flight, but overall, it was fine. One thing I found quite impractical was the lack of a dry area in the shower to change clothes, and the absence of a sink in the toilet. This makes it uncomfortable to wash hands, especially when menstruating or changing. It would also be very helpful to have clear instructions on how to reach Terminal 2. I was told to cross a blue bridge and enter through Terminal 3, but without the help of some kind security staff who happened to be walking the same way, I wouldn’t have been sure I was on the right path. There are no clear signs, and before 7 a.m. you apparently can’t enter through Terminal 3, so you need to walk further. All in all, it’s an okay but improvable stay, modern and convenient, but a few practical details could make a big difference.

Good wifi. Great beds and pillow. Pool made it very nice for workout during the day. Close to the airport. People unfortunately did not respect each other in the rooms and made a loft of noise. Overpriced even if it is close to the airport.

Far Home Gran Via is a laid-back hostel located in the heart of Madrid, offering free Wi-Fi and comfortable accommodations. The rooms feature air conditioning and memory foam mattresses, with options ranging from dormitories to private rooms. Bed linens and towels are provided. The hostel's modern facilities include single beds with individual lockers, a kitchen, and a fridge for guests' use. Its central location near Puerta del Sol and Gran Via makes it convenient for exploring the city.
i had a bunk bed in a shared room (room 112 to be exact) for 45€ per person per night. great quality/location! to check in, look for the outdoor keypad with a little sign that says "Far Home" then press the keypad button that says "Far Home" to alert the reception who will unlock the door for you. reception is on 1st floor. good fast service and he did the explanation for me in english. this bunk bed room fits 4 people with a clean/modern full bathroom inside. includes soap/shampoo/hair dryer and each person gets their own (very clean) cotton sheets/pillowcase/blanket/cotton blanket cover, outlet, light, and key locked locker. wifi is fast! no living room but there is a kitchenette w microwave, fridge, cups/plates/bowls/utensils, coffee/tea, salt/pepper (no stove) grocery stores like Dia and Carrefour as well as Gran Via and Sol metro stations are within 4 min walk and were right next to the famous Gran Via (although from my room there was no view, just looks out to a random side street. window has blackout curtains for light blocking) room is clean. noise wise, its currently 2312 at night and i can hear some sirens and cars honking in the distance, might be good to bring earplugs. room temperature is perfect although it is nice may weather right now so we personally didnt need heat or AC anyway. of note, we didn't have much luggage so it wasn't a problem but this shared room is small so it may be uncomfortable if you have very large suitcases to unpack

There was a bed. Considering the price for the full suite, it was not a great experience. Had to ask for toilet paper refill when they cleaned (only once during the 5 days), room filled with cigarette smoke from neighbours smoking (in the bathroom maybe?), and the building was incredibly loud (it’s a hostel, but still).

I booked a „double room“ through booking.com. The room is definitely not a double room - it is the size of a closet with a barely fitting twin bed, not a double bed that could fit 2 people comfortably. When I challenged the reception, all they said was that that is the room I had booked. The pictures are definitely misleading and they do not highlight which room is which. The staff could not offer us an alternative larger room for the entire stay, only for the first night and by paying the difference for the „upgrade“. Since it is a busy weekend including holiday in Spain, we asked to get a refund so that we could look for an alternative, which of course they declined immediately citing hotel policy without considering the situation or offering any alternative solution or flexibility. I am sure they can and will find new tenants immediately. When I called booking.com, after explaining the situation, they kept me on hold while they deliberated with the hotel for a solution. They came back with the same answer as the staff at the hotel gave us, and could only offer a minuscule refund for the trouble. Needless to say, we left and are now taking this matter through the conflict resolution processes. Booking.com’s passivity is enabling this behavior of the hotels. This is unacceptable. The pictures of the rooms are definitely misleading - double check before booking!

worst hostel i’ve ever been to. really dirty, this includes towels, carpets, the floor, the ceiling, basically everything(especially the bathroom). you can hear everything the floor above you, below you, and the building next completely fine, worst wall insulation ever. the check in area being in the corner and not in the lobby, had to ask someone to tell us where the check in place is. not a good price for this hostel, the pictures are inaccurate .super sketchy overall. don’t go!!!!!!

The location is in the city center and very convenient, but it’s quite basic and messy. The soundproofing is poor—you can clearly hear when water is running in the neighboring room
Vicky N — Google review
It's a hostel and the facilities are bare bones but sufficient with a clean and great location within Puerta Del Sol. Fantastic food locations all within walking distance. Even the Puerto Rico restaurant just directly opposite the hostel is good. My 2 caveats which I judge all my accomodation stays is the soundproofing and service staff. The room walls are thin and it's hard not to be disturbed when guests from the surrounding room makes noise. The windows overlooking the streets intrude with the necessary street noise which is indicative of the hotel's busy location. But it can be mitigated by the double Window proofing. Now for the service, the cleaning staff does a great job and I appreciate her dearly. My gripe is with the reception lady, Andrea. She barely smiles and looks rather miserable, sullen and arrogant. I pity her. She really shouldn't be in a job placement she is clearly unsuitable for.

Excellent location. Pretty in the heart of everything. Superb metro access. Friendly staff, especially Indian origin buddy. Clean and bright interior. Unfortunately very thin walls make u hear everything around your room including shower 🚿, toilette, people walking around... Lack of window in the room makes inside so stuffy. Price is attractive. You can leave your suitcase in the reception. Good internet.

Amazing stay at Far Home Gran Via last week. The accommodation was perfect - reasonably priced, clean, comfortable. Access to a kitchen and fridge is a great plus, as well as an amazing location - the hostel is located right next to the centre of Madrid and the shopping centre of Gran Via. Only issue was that it was occasionally quite noisy in the hostel - but headphones and earplugs solved this problem completely.

Hostel Era Alonso Martinez is a laid-back accommodation with simple dorms and shared amenities like a kitchenette and TV lounge. It's conveniently situated near Metro Tribunal, making it easy to explore Madrid's shops, bars, restaurants, and museums. The hostel owner is an avid football fan who shares his passion for the sport with guests. While the shower pressure may be low and there could be some cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, the hostel provides good bedding and offers locker storage for valuables.
Totally loved it, was there for 2 nights, very close from the tube station, first day went to Real Madrid vs PSG and sight seeing on the second day. It's easy to both Santiago Bernabeu and Vicente Calderon. If you like a bit of walk, attractions are not hard to walk to, around 2 kms and you will be in the city centre. About the hostel, the owner is a crazy football fan, just like me, we spoke so much about football and he's really passionate about football and Real Madrid. You can see jerseys of famous teams pinned against walls, big cartoon of Sergio Ramos, Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo. Owner is there in the day time and different people for night shift, excuse me, forgot the name of the one who checked me in, he said he is from Philippines and been here for a while in Madrid, he is very very friendly, helped me with how to get to where ever I wanted, to bus station, to go to Toledo, getting to stadium. Very good value for money, clean facilities, free breakfast and happen to meet other football supporters. Internet is very good as well, did a speed test, pretty happy with it. Overall, great place, facilities and wonderful staff!

Good facilities, although the shower pressure is laughably low when using any amount of hot water. There were also drain flies in the showers...clean those drains! Good blankets and sheets provided. €10 deposit at check-in for key to building. Towels can be rented for €2. Lock and key provided to store your valuables in lockers inside and outside the bedrooms. They advertise a 'club night' for €12 that gets you into two bars and a club with some "perks" like a free shot, drink specials, and free cover for the club. Cannot comment on the experience, didn't participate. Breakfast is included and consisted of marmalade, jam, margarine, chocolate spread and toast. Packaged Magdalenas (muffins) and croissants as well. Green tea and instant coffee provided with milk. No stove-top or oven, only a microwave, toaster, and fridge. Overall a well-priced, cozy hostel that could use a little clean-up in the showers. Good experience.

Quiet area. Not far from the center . the hostel is not in very good condition. But the staff is friendly. There is a simple breakfast. sufficiently clean. Shower in poor condition. In general, a good option if you do not have a lot of money.

My reservation was cancelled without any notice or refund and once I arrived, with nowhere else to go, they tried charging me double for a room with more people. Avoid this place, they will try to scam you. They only take cash and will direct you to a cash machine with an extortionate exchange rate and usage fees. The floor is coming apart, the bed sheets are poorly washed, I found another persons hair all over my pillow. All in all I would say to avoid this place like it’s the plague.
Trevor D — Google review
24hr Check in and well located. Staff are friendly (and comfortable in English) and most major attractions are with about 20mins walk with two metro stops in under 5mins. The place was clean and other guests friendly, with good ideas /maps/ fliers of what to do in Madrid.

Hostal Oxum is a modern and cozy guesthouse located in the heart of Madrid's Barrio de Chueca. The hostel offers 8 comfortable rooms at a great price, with complimentary Wi-Fi and a lounge for guests to relax in. Although there is no elevator, the friendly staff ensures a pleasant stay. The rooms are clean and comfy, providing all necessary amenities. While there is no free breakfast, the convenient location allows easy access to major museums and shopping areas in the city.
Have stayed here twice, one of my negatives from the first time has been addressed and the street entrance is now a lot brighter and more cheery. The hostel is on the third floor and no elevator but this is made clear when booking. I arrived early with my son, we were shown to our room and although was too early to check in, we were given keys and leaving luggage was no problem. This time I had booked a windowless room, it was small, as was the shower room but had what we needed and most importantly clean and comfy. The location is excellent, right in the city centre and near everything you could want.

Guests appreciated the homely atmosphere of the rooms and bathrooms, along with amenities such as adjustable water temperature and pressure.
Very nice place, the rooms felt more like a home rather then a hostel which was nice, the bathrooms as well, you could control water temp and pressure which was a nice change from what i’m used to! They provide a towel and clean sheet which is always appreciated and the man working there was very pleasant. Also very very cheap for the services. Nice central hostel, located in a nice palace and very quiet inside. I stayed here for two nights at the end of November with two other friends and we were satisfied. The prices are cheap and the hostel gives you everything you would expect for such low prices. The rooms are large enough and not overcrowded, the bathrooms are clean and the position of the hostel is very very central, few minutes far from the Senate, the Royal Palace and the main streets. I recommend it if you are going to stay for few days visiting central Madrid.

The value you get for the price you pay per night is great. Nice warm bed to sleep in, wifi, bathrooms with a shower, etc. The facilities are clean and well taken care of. If you want a hostel to meet people, then this is not the place for you. It met my needs and what I got for the price surpassed my initial expectations.

I put 2 stars because the price is low for a 7 beds dorm (18 euros), but do not expect something amazing. The location of the hostel is very good because you are close to Gran Via and the subway. There is no private car parking. There is no kitchen to cook your meal. Internet is only available with wifi. No share room. Only the corridor. During the evening, it is noisy because there is a bar just on the other side of the street. My dorm was small, 7 beds too close from each others (20 cm). It seems that a tv set has been installed on the wall, but not anymore. No other option to watch TV. Lockers are not available. The manager told me that it is a safe hostel! Only 1 chair and a desk for 7 people. I do assume that they updated a single room to this dorm. There is a wash basin with a fridge inside the dorm. 3 bathrooms (toilet, wash basin, shower) are available. You can only find a microwave on the corridor. The place is very clean, but it needs a deep renovation.

In december the common spaces are ok, but the room was rather cold. They don't have any kitchen, just a microwave for a common use and we had a small fridge in the room. Only 2 bathrooms for the whole hostel. The old man in the reception was nice, but sometimes strange: he turned off the lights in the common space while I was there, for example (it was early in the morning, still dark).

El Retiro Park, one of the largest parks in Madrid, was previously owned by the Spanish Monarchy. This 19th-century park features a boating lake, rose garden, numerous fountains, and statues.
This is a massive park in the center of Madrid. Edges beautifully laid out and includes a rose garden and a boating lake. There are event spaces, cafés, and restrooms within the park. There are many statues, monuments fountains and decorative architectural elements to enjoy. It is such a wonderful space you could spend many hours wandering throughits fabulous plantings and treated spaces. A wonderful thing to do on a hot day, catching the breeze and shade under the trees.

This park is amazing and beautiful. Even with the several hundreds of people walking around, it didn't feel crowded. The park has so many quiet spaces to just relax and soak in the day. Love the little boats you can hire on the lake, very romantic.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful and lively park in the heart of Madrid! I just finished walking around Retiro Park, and it’s such a peaceful yet energetic place. Many people come here for jogging, cycling, and group workouts, while others simply enjoy a relaxing stroll. I also saw people rowing boats on the lake — it adds such a charming touch to the atmosphere. In the late afternoon, the light is beautiful and many visitors gather to take photos around the fountains and gardens. Definitely a must-visit spot if you want to experience how Madrid locals enjoy their day.

A Peaceful Oasis in the Heart of Madrid – El Parque del Retiro I visited El Parque del Retiro on October 13, 2025, and it was an amazing experience. The weather was perfect — sunny, warm, and surrounded by the beautiful autumn colors of the trees. This park is truly a peaceful oasis in the center of Madrid, full of history, nature, and charm. During my visit, I explored the fountains, the Estanque Grande (the large lake), the elegant Palacio de Cristal, and even the Jardín Escondido, a lovely hidden garden full of calm and beauty. You can easily spend hours walking around, renting a bike or scooter, or simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery. I brought a picnic with Iberian sandwiches, fresh fruits, and dessert — a perfect way to spend the afternoon. The entrance is free, and I recommend visiting in the late afternoon to enjoy the magical sunset views over the lake. The park’s location is excellent, close to the Puerta de Alcalá, making it easy to explore the nearby area as well. Whether you go with family, friends, or on your own, El Retiro is an unforgettable place to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of Madrid.

El Retiro Park is such a beautiful and relaxing place in the middle of Madrid. The park is huge, full of trees, fountains, and peaceful walking paths. My small dog loved exploring the park and watching the ducks by the lake. It’s clean, safe, and perfect for a quiet walk or just sitting under the trees. We both really enjoyed spending time there!

I think it's the most beautiful park I've ever been to. It's huge, you feel the beautiful atmosphere of Madrid and you can't get bored. It's a great experience to come and enjoy what the surroundings offer and it fills you with energy.

El Retiro Park is the green heart of Madrid — a sprawling, vibrant oasis that offers something for everyone. The grounds are beautifully maintained and full of life, from joggers and families to couples picnicking under the trees. It’s the perfect place to unwind, whether you’re rowing a boat on the iconic lake, taking a leisurely walk through the gardens, or just soaking in the sunshine on a bench. There are several playgrounds scattered throughout, making it great for kids too. Despite how popular it is, the park stays impressively clean and inviting. A must-visit spot for a peaceful escape right in the middle of the city.

The Royal Palace of Madrid, an 18th-century ridge-top palace, is a must-visit for its grandeur and historical significance. While it's still the official residence of Spain's royal family, it's more about exploring the palace's history and the country than catching a glimpse of royalty. With over 3,000 rooms including the Royal Kitchen, Royal Armory, Painting Gallery, and a Hall of Mirrors reminiscent of Versailles, there's plenty to explore inside.
Such a beautiful place. Make sure you visit with a tour. So much beauty and history in one place. The sheer size of this place will blow your mind. The interior is something I've never seen before and would recommend it to anyone who visits Spain.
Jason C — Google review
You can tell they spared no expenses building this palace. The rooms seem to get more and more elaborate as you get deeper into the palace. Its a good experience to see a modern day palace. The lines were long during a weekday afternoon. There was a line for ticket holders and non-holders. I was part of a tour group that had skip the line so I can't comment on the wait. There are free lockers for you to store your backpack. The restrooms are only at the exit beside the gift shop. Warning that once you enter the gift shop or bathroom, you are not supposed to reenter the palace. There will be a guard stationed by the gift shop entrance to stop you from reentering. However, I have seen people ask the guard to use the restroom and be allowed to reenter. Just make sure you ask first.

What an incredible experience! Stunning!! I’m so glad I visited while in Madrid. Each room is luxurious and unique in its own way. I did the self-guided tour on a weekday and did not buy tickets in advance.

Stunning! Definitely book in advance. Even if you've been before - as we have 10 years ago - the added museum gallery is exceptional (it's jam-packed with incredible things - what a superb bonus that was!).

The Royal Palace of Madrid is absolutely stunning and one of the most memorable places I visited. The interior is magnificent—each room feels like stepping back in time, filled with beautiful details and history. Photos are allowed, which makes the visit even more enjoyable since you can capture the incredible architecture and decor. The staff were polite and helpful, and I appreciated that service dogs are allowed inside with proper documentation. I would recommend booking a tour and skipping the line—it saves time and makes the experience much smoother. The surrounding gardens are also lovely for a quiet walk after the visit. Truly an unforgettable experience in Madrid!

Beautiful palace to be visited off you are in Madrid. Well maintained site with stunning pictures on ceilings. Buy tickets in advance. Tickets are allocated to 15min entrance time slots. Will need about 15-20 minutes to get through the short queue, security and for the collection of headsets for the self guided walk. There are tours as well. Just the palace can be covered in about one and a half to two hours. Lockers are available free of charge to store your bags. Toilet facilities situated through the gift shop. Wheelchair friendly.

I was in awe of this magnificent building. It's metallic outer structure and sheer size is a sight to behold even though you are not a Real Madrid or football fan. Took the bernabue tour which cost 35 euros per person and felt like it could’ve been cheaper. The stadium was having an event so they didn’t let us stay inside past 10 minutes or so. The whole tour is an immersive experience, the history is well elaborated so even someone who isn’t a fan can connect and appreciate the journey that the team has had. The architecture is appreciative. An entire section is also dedicated to real madrid city.

This museum showcases an extraordinary private collection featuring works by renowned artists such as Titian, Tintoretto, Warhol, and Pollock.
Beautiful and surprisingly large multi-level art museum filled with incredible works by the best artist's of our time. Contains a little bit of everything from Baroque & Renaissance to Abstract, impressionism/expressionism and contemporary and too many others I cant think of at this time lol. But, seriously it was very enjoyable, zen and maybe I was lucky but there was even a small flamenco concert that happened on the main level. Highly recommend

An incredible collection of art. Prefer wandering the halls here over some of the other more notable museums in Madrid. That said, it can be a little overwhelming in scope/size, with floor after floor, hall after all. But it is fairly well organized and easy to navigate. There is also a small cafeteria should you get in the mood for a snack or coffee. Definitely worth the cost of admission, and definitely worth your time.
Jaded G — Google review
Museum is great, big would definitely recommend to dedicate at least 4 hours to do it calmly and with intention. They have pieces from almost all eras and movements and really liked the route as well. Mondays it’s free so recommend to take advantage of that!! Audio guide was okay, but they focus mainly on a piece at each room and give you a lot of info about it but I was hopping it would be about all pieces or at least more of the overall context or the movement those pieces share, can be better tbh

Very good museum that covers 500-600 years of art. It’s relatively small and easy to navigate. The collection holds a wide variety of paintings from early Italian church art through landscape painters, Impressionists, Fauves to Picasso and more contemporary artists.

What a great collection! Honestly, it’s my favorite museum in Madrid, mostly because of the Impressionists, but also because it’s just the right size and easy navigation. Start on the third floor and work your way down. This museum doesn’t overwhelm you, it’s perfectly balanced.
Vera Z — Google review
A fantastic collection, brilliantly laid out in a beautiful building. The top floor held the older works, with lots of beautiful religious paintings, some dating back to the 10th century. The first floor contained the more modern works, from around the mid 19th century onwards, encompassing Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism, Fauvism, Surrealism and more, through Pop-Art, right up to works from present day. The galleries were very well laid out, with a chronological nature to each room - in many cases, it helped connect the dots between the different movements, and bevause of the depth of the collection, in cases like work from Miro or Kandinsky, you could see the artist's style adapting and developing over the years. The ground floor holds the loaned collection from the daughter of the original donor, and contains even more treasures, especially from the Impressionists, with treats from Sisley and Pizarro, and some spectacular Pop-Art period works from the likes of O'Keefe.

Nestled in the heart of Madrid, Corral de la Morería stands as a testament to the rich cultural tapestry of Spain, blending exquisite culinary artistry with mesmerizing flamenco performances. Since its inception in 1956, this iconic venue has earned its reputation as the oldest and most celebrated flamenco tablao globally. It has welcomed an array of A-list celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Harrison Ford, who have come to experience its enchanting atmosphere.
If you are visiting Madrid, Corral de la Morería is an absolute must. The food is nothing short of excellent, each dish was prepared with incredible flavor and care, making it a truly memorable dining experience. But what makes this place so special goes beyond the cuisine. The flamenco show is breathtaking, filled with raw passion and artistry that completely immerses you in the music, songs, and dance. It’s an unforgettable performance that captures the heart and soul of Spain. A special mention must go to our server, Alejandro Vellón, who elevated our evening even further. His thoughtful suggestions, warm hospitality, and professional demeanor made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. He was an outstanding host and turned an already extraordinary night into an unforgettable one. Corral de la Morería is not just dinner and a show, it’s an experience you’ll treasure long after leaving Madrid.
Jose M — Google review
Overall a fantastic experience. However, we had to argue our way to a better table closer to the stage. The menu was delicious, you just have to ignore the somewhat crowded atmosphere and the small tables. Don’t expect a posh Michelin-star setting. We had booked the 6pm dinner and ate before the show which started shortly after 7:30pm. I recommend you arrive 15-30‘ prior to your booked time so that you can settle any potential issues with the table and can finish your courses before the performance starts. The artists were absolutely phenomenal! The guitar players and singers had a great vibe with the dancers and really seemed to enjoy their time on stage together! 50€ per person for roughly an hour‘s performance isn’t cheap plus the price for the menu of at least 50€ pp but you do get an evening worth remembering.

*A Frustrating Hour of Waiting for an Unseeable Show* My wife and I booked the 9:30 PM show at Corral De La Moreria, expecting, reasonably, a show that started around 9:30 PM. Instead, we were forced to sit there for an entire hour while the staff served dinner and drinks to other guests. The show didn't actually begin until 10:30 PM. Nowhere during the booking process did it state that the first hour is just a dinner service. We had already eaten, so we just sat there, completely bypassed, while the entire venue slowly received their meals. It's an incredibly deceptive practice. If you are going to force people who only booked the show to sit through an hour-long dinner service for others, you must state that clearly upfront. People who just want to see the show and have already made other dinner plans get completely screwed over by this model. To add insult to injury, the venue itself is terribly organized. The seating is a joke. We were crammed into a spot with an atrocious view of the stage. After waiting an hour for a show we didn't even want to eat at, we could barely see the performers. Save your money and your time. This was a poorly managed, frustrating experience from start to finish. We came for a 9:30 show and got a 10:30 show we couldn't even see.

As other reviews mention, the show was excellent but the dinner and logistics are a trap. Everything is completely overpriced and the service wasn’t bad but they continued to treat as tourists even though we’re actually from Madrid, even with some superiority when explaining the menu and wines like if I hadn’t seen a wine in my life. I was sad to see this is the most recommended place to see a flamenco show. The food and drinks are absolutely not worth the price, and the show is good but still expensive. Try to go somewhere else. Fabio Z — Google review
The venue itself is poorly designed for viewing—at least for half of the audience (see photo). The room is L-shaped, and we were seated in the far back corner on the side. Even though we arrived early hoping for good seats, we were told that seating priority is based on when you made your reservation, not arrival time. Throughout the show, servers frequently passed in front of us, blocking the view and breaking the immersion. On the positive side, the food was phenomenal—pricey, yes, but worth it. The entertainment and service were both excellent, and the performers were clearly talented and passionate. However, to truly experience the power and emotion of flamenco, you need to be close enough to see the performers’ expressions and feel the rhythm in the room. If you go, make sure you book early enough to secure a front-row or center seat.
Lance B — Google review
***** THIS IS A TOURIST TRAP!******** The flamenco show was great! All the dancers, singers and musicians preformed beautifully and it was nice to see a part of Spain’s culture. However on the website they did not state you needed to make a minimum purchase of 49.95 € for dinner ( it was easy to make the minimum because it was very overpriced and we even got charged separately for butter and olive oil to accompany the bread). The website only stated that the dinner cost would be in addition to ticket price, but no minimum spend was listed. The seating was horrible as well with barely enough room for you get out of your chair. They try and squeeze as many tables in there as they can. A lady next to me dropped her napkin and when she tried to get it, her head was basically in my lap because of how tight the seating was. It was even difficult for the servers to get by, they constantly were bumping the back of my chair. The main course was very bland. Just a simple chicken breast and gravy with polenta. Definitely had better and very disappointing for a Michelin star restaurant. I would not recommend this place when visiting Madrid, I’m sure you can find an equally as good show with a better dinner and at more affordable price.
Billie P — Google review
Don’t dine there. As many comments stated, they wasn’t explicit about minimum spending at dinner if you book dinner + show. We were not hungry and were not able to fulfill the minimum spend requirement on food despite paying for an overpriced wine, but they still charged us the $97 minimum for two people. Dining room was extremely crowded, making any movement and walking impossible. We got a seating back in the corner and a stage pillar was blocking my view half of the time. If you have a crow sitting in front of you who like taking videos, it can be very disturbing. Service was poor. We asked for an ice bucket to chill our bottle. It wasn’t served to us after 30 minutes (half of the show) and we had to go to the bar to find our bottle. But our bottle was left unattended at the bar, no servers were around. Madrid is full of other good restaurants and shows. This one can be skipped. Ps. Michelin again failed me.

Puerta del Sol is a bustling public square in the heart of Madrid, known for its iconic landmarks and vibrant atmosphere. The square features an equine statue of King Carlos III and a 0km marker stone, marking the starting point for Spanish distances. Its name, meaning 'Gate of the Sun,' originates from being one of the gates in the city walls during the 5th century, where sunlight would shine through each morning.
Puerta del Sol is a must-visit spot for tourists in Madrid! This bustling square is the heart of the city and a perfect starting point for exploring the vibrant culture and history of Madrid. It's always lively, with a wonderful mix of locals and tourists enjoying the atmosphere. The square is home to several iconic landmarks, such as the famous "El Oso y el Madroño" statue and the "Kilometer Zero" plaque, marking the starting point of Spain's radial roads. It's a great place to soak in the city's energy, take some memorable photos, and even do a bit of shopping or grab a bite at nearby cafes and restaurants. Whether you're people-watching, exploring the nearby streets, or simply enjoying the ambiance, Puerta del Sol offers a quintessential Madrid experience that you won't want to miss!

Abhishek S — Google review
Puerta del Sol is one of Madrid’s most famous and central squares — a true hub of activity, day and night. It's where several major streets converge, making it a busy meeting point for locals and tourists alike. You’ll find plenty of shops, cafes, street performers, and historical landmarks all within steps of each other. It’s home to the famous “Kilómetro Cero” marker (the symbolic center of Spain's road network), the Tío Pepe sign, and the iconic Bear and Strawberry Tree statue — great photo spots if you can find a moment without crowds. The energy here is constant — which is both a highlight and a potential downside. It’s exciting and vibrant, but also quite crowded and noisy, especially in the evenings. Pickpockets can be an issue in busy times, so keep an eye on your belongings. Overall, Puerta del Sol is an essential stop if you’re exploring Madrid. It’s full of history, always buzzing, and gives you a real sense of the city’s pulse. Just don’t expect a quiet moment here — it’s the kind of place that’s always in motion.

My visit to Puerta del Sol was an immersion into Madrid's very essence. I experienced its incredible energy, a vibrant pulse that defines this historic square. It's fascinating to know it's Spain's "Kilometer Zero" and epicentre of New Year's Eve. What truly stood out was seeing the iconic "Bear and the Strawberry Tree" statue. I learned this powerful symbol, part of Madrid’s coat of arms since the 13th century, represents a historic land dispute. An absolutely central, historically rich, and deeply engaging landmark!

Every tourist ends up here, small pause, some coffee, perhaps an Italian icecream while watching a street performer and attempting to touch the bears “cheeks” for some reason (not judging, simply not reaching if I’m honest). People broken by miles of shopping withdrawing into the hotels lining the narrow streets or retiring into evening restaurants .. on all accounts .. this is where the walking slows and the thinking of the next move in Madrid start.

He is a PhD student from Madrid and super knowledgeable, as well as a fantastic story teller which makes the history come to life. His enthusiasm for madrids history was infectious, and he tied modern history in with the old. Wish we could have taken the tour on our first day there. He was patient, friendly, and open to any questions. We can’t recommend him enough! Thank you Miguel

Angel was wonderful! His historical knowledge and funny quips kept us entertained and eager to learn. He went above and beyond with a detailed QR code guide with his favorite local restaurants and bars. Highly recommend this tour. Graçias, Angel!

Miguel was an amazing tour guide! Full of really interesting historical and cultural facts mixed with current tips and suggested places to visit on our own. It was a great way to get myself oriented in a new city and feel a connection to Madrid. Thanks Miguel!!!!

Perfect tour to get an overview of the old town of Madrid. Our tour guide Miguel gave us lots of historical insights, but also fun facts and good recommendations for food. Definitely recommended, especially if you haven't been to Madrid before and want a summary of the most important things and good food. Entertaining and very interesting! Would love to go again. 🙂

Free walking tours are my favorite and a must in every new city I visit! Miguel was extremely friendly, prepared and passionate about what he does, it felt like a walk with a friend! Madrid is amazing and to know its history with a nice group of people from all over the world is an experience I recommend.
Dalya B — Google review
Probably the best walking tour I’ve been on. Miguel combines the fascinating history of Madrid with juicy gossip of what happened behind the scenes and recommendations of where to eat in non-tourist locations. Highly recommend the tour.
Karin M — Google review
The tour with Miguel was fantastic! It was a lot of fun, very informative, and still lively, covering all the key points. Miguel truly enjoys sharing the history of the city, and it shows in his authentic and engaging delivery. His academic and historical background, combined with his broad general knowledge, made him unshakable when answering any questions. On top of that, we had great conversations with him between the different stops on the tour. Thank you for the excellent tour --> I can highly recommend it to anyone!

Hostal Viky is a straightforward hotel located near the airport, offering free Wi-Fi and an airport shuttle service. Guests have praised the helpfulness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms, which come with amenities such as heaters and hair dryers. While some reviewers noted that it took a while for the water to heat up, others found this to be a convenient stay close to the airport.
This hotel is in a super location for the Airport, literally within walking distance. Which is just as well because the transfer service didn't materialise on my arrival. In fairness that is my only negative. Rooms are well equipped and staff are friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced too.
Malcolm J — Google review
Free shuttle to airport at 5:30am — yes. You can also walk to/from the airport (covered walkway over highways)—follow google maps walking directions. Otherwise, this was the noisiest building I have encountered in my 3 weeks in Spain. As if the building was DESIGNED to amplify sounds. Keys turning, people talking on the street, airlines taking off… You need earplugs for your earplugs.
Sondra — Google review
The location is great for a night stay between flights, free shuttle from and to the airport. Clean sheets, towels. No elevator, no facilities for disabled people. The bed’s blanket had stains. The air conditioner was very noisy, and in addition to the thin walls made it impossible to sleep. The bathroom facilities were a bit broken. Our friends were in way better near by the airport hotels for the same price or even cheaper.
Dimitar V — Google review
I loved this place! Simple and Efficient! Perfect Airport Hotel! Great AC and hot water! Comfortable Room! Super Airport Schuttle! Good Service! Restaurants and Cafes nearby!
Rob E — Google review
Location close to the airport that offers free shuttle to/from airport. Rooms had their own bathroom. Nice sized. Nice neighborhood close to restaurants and a market.
Heather G — Google review
Shuttle bus experience was unacceptable. When I rang t 30 minutes and rang again to be told in a very rude tone that it wasn't an ambulance service and that i just had to wait. I would have expected a ' on my way' or an apology. Poor customer care
James H — Google review
It is a good place for short stay, it is close to Barajas Airport and you can have free van to pick up and drop off at the airport...
Maria B — Google review
Hostal Viki Madrid refused to accept my reservation based on my nationality. The blatant discrimination was shocking, ilegal and unacceptable.

Asturian restaurant
La Copita Asturiana is an old-school restaurant in the heart of Asturias serving traditional Asturian dishes. The atmosphere is incredibly hospitable and the food is some of the best in the area. If you're looking for a must-go spot when visiting Asturias, don't miss this family-run gem.
A traditional Asturian restaurant specializing in authentic bean stews in the La Latina neighborhood. I was unable to make a reservation online, but was the first to be seated after arriving at the opening time (13:30). I ordered the verdinas with squid, shrimps and clams (€20,00) and a glass of Mendoza sweet white wine (€2,50); bread was added with a €1,20 charge. The verdinas was incredibly savory with the strong umami flavor of fresh seafood, and the portions were enormous. Restaurant staff were very welcoming and warm to foreign tourists, despite speaking minimal English. Atmosphere was leisurely and comfortable. Pricing was accessible. In all, if you want to try authentic Asturian food, you can't go wrong with La Copita Asturiana.

Amazing authentic food asturiana, stop by and try the red tuna!
Sander M — Google review
Incredibly cute lunch spot that smells and feels like grandmas house. Impeccable service. Lamb ribs were perfecto.
Stefan L — Google review
Dining here is like a meal with family. I wanted to visit this place for a few years and finally was able to enjoy it. Of course, ordered the fabada asturiana. Marvelous! A huge bowl arrived at the table, enough to feed 6 people and we were 2. The taste is homemade cooking. Service is friendly and helpful, including personal attention that was sincere and gracious. I’m very happy to have dined here and hope to return. Portions are huge so order things to share.
Lenswork4 — Google review
An incredibly hospital place. Family run and super cosy. If you don’t order the bean stew then you will regret it for the rest of your life. This is where the good stuff is. Drink lots of cider and eat till you burst.
Mark M — Google review
The fabadas were terrific and we really enjoyed the lubina a la plancha
Victoria S — Google review
We went to this place because of other Yelp reviews, it's a very small local mom and pop bar/ restaurant. I don't think they get many tourist we when it and were welcomes with open arms, they really love the fact that we came to their place. We felt like we were in someones home, a few locals were already eating and we became the guest's of honor. Everyone wanted us to have a great experience, suggesting different menu items foe us to try. The food, oh the food, it was authentic Spanish home style food. We had a white bean dish (Fabada) with blood sausage, and Ham it was excellent, and a huge portion enough for 3 people. That was about all we could eat, but we had an excellent bottle of wine in the company of the most wonderful family.
William G — Google review
Went there for a lunch on a weekday. The place has dividers which doesn’t make it look very nice, but I understand it is for safety reasons. The place was quite cold, no heating whatsoever. We ordered two caldo gallegos and after a few minutes a lady came to tell us that it’s not possible to order only one first dish and we need to order a main dish as well. I asked her if we should leave but she said for now it’s fine but to know it for next time. I think it would be useful to have it written that there is a minimum consumption. The caldo is 9 eur, it is quite nice and quite big for one person.

Hostal Charlotte is a budget-friendly hotel located in the heart of Madrid, making it an ideal choice for first-time visitors to the Spanish capital. Situated on Gran Via, one of the city's liveliest commercial streets, it offers easy access to major attractions such as Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace of Madrid. The hostel provides stylish and comfortable accommodations with complimentary Wi-Fi and a vibrant lounge area.
It was a best choice with this price in a very center of the city. Gran Via is amazing and our balcony view was so nice. Room was cozy, a bit small but definitely ok for short visits (we stayed 3 nights). Terrace was a big advantage here. No noise at night, we could sleep with no issues. Breakfast was ok, no much choices but we liked it. Staff and service were also good. Thank you!!!
Luisa G — Google review
The location is excellent right in downtown! Could not have asked for a better location. The room is very small but perfect for what we needed, just a place to sleep and shower it was very clean, however one of our towels was left in the shower as instructed but was never replaced with a fresh one, luckily I had my own but I would have been quite annoyed to go all the way up to the 7th floor just to ask for a fresh towel
Chantelle G — Google review
If you’re looking to stay in the center of Madrid with easy access to Gran Via, Puerta del Sol, Parque el Retiro and everything else, this is your place! Check in was smooth, very friendly guy at the desk. There are two working elevators. Check in is on the 7th floor, rooms are in the 9th floor so make sure you stop by on the 7th floor first. Room was small but clean. It was perfect for sleeping, because when you’re in Madrid, you just need a place to sleep 😆. Highly recommend it!
Silvia M — Google review
We had a great time, the room was so clean, the staff was nice. Only negative is waiting for the elevator but that is all of Europe in my experience haha. We didn't have anyone in a wheelchair in our group, but I do want to comment on this too to give people an idea, even with the elevator I wouldn't call this a wheelchair accessible place, as there were steps in order to access the elevator, and when you get to your floor there are still steps to access the hallway.
Karina M — Google review
I traveled in February and the room was simply cold. Thats my only complain. The breakfast was tasty, view nice and localization great.
Martyna Ś — Google review
The place looked very nice online but once we arrived there the first impression was not good, the elevator was super slow, the room wasn't bad but the smell of sewer was too intense it woke me up a couple of times. I'd stay for a night but longer than that it wasn't that nice.
Esther M — Google review
I was planning a week in Granada with my wife and daughter, and we were looking for a central bases to explore the town from. There are lots of great hotels in the City, but the two bedroom suites at Gran Via were almost half the price of two hotel rooms so we booked it. Situated towards the bottom end of the Gran Via de Colon, the accommodation is only a short walk to the centre of Granada, but far enough way to escape the noise. If you're driving to the hotel you'll find it's best to park under nearby Avenida de la Constitucion since the hotel car park is tiny. We arrived at the same tie as some other guests so had to wait outside to check in since the lobby is quite small, but the staff were really friendly and helpful. The suite itself consisted of one double bedroom and one twin room, with an open plan lounge/kitchenette/dining room, and a bathroom with funky Japanese style toilet! We only had breakfast in the room once (they deliver a very generous room service platter) so only really used the kitchenette for drinks and snacks. The wifi in the room was perfect and there's a recreation room in the basement if you want to use a stand alone PC. I only have two small criticisms of the hotel. 1. The air con is really powerful in the suites. That may sound like great news when it 40C outside, but you can't leave it on all night since you freeze....yeah, yeah - first world problem. 2. While there is little noise from the street, the inside of the hotel can get a quite loud due to the abundance of tiled floors and walls. One night some guests came in late to the hotel and woke us up as they chatted in the downstairs atrium. Nevertheless, we'd definitely stay here again.
Richard G — Google review
Room was small near a noisy terrace bar which played loud music late. No service at all and receptionists were not helpful . Although renovated it had no sound proofing at all. Everything echoed outside in hall and to think I paid $80 for this Hostal. Disappointed

loved my experience here!! the room was perfect and it was super private & quiet. cannot recommend this place enough, also the front desk is very friendly and helpful!
Erin T — Google review
Great location, easy bus ride or walk to the Atocha station and city centre. The room was more spacious than we expected, and good sized bathroom. The staff were very helpful allowing us to leave our bags before check in time - even beyond what we expected they did the check in and gave us the key at that time (10:30am) and put the bags in our room once it was ready so we could come back after a full day sightseeing straight into our room.
Sarah M — Google review
After having had issues via Booking.com I communicated directly with La Vera Hostal, Montse, and everything went super smooth. The location is excellent, you can walk to/from Atocha station, and to all major locations, or just go the metro only 100 mtrs down the street, The Hostal is super nice, very!! clean and charming. The beds are very comfortable all in all, the perfect place when doing a city trip to Madrid. Both Montse and Maite are super sweet and helpful. I will definitely come back. Muchísimas gracias por todo.

Simple place, super well located with comfy beds and a fan rather than aircon.
Murray N — Google review
Good location for shopping, close to Anton Martin metro station, calm, clean and tidy. The room was a bit small, but has a private bathroom. The hostel seems there since decades because it reminded me if the 1970's movies. The only missing star is because they don't have 24h reception.
Yasmeen K — Google review
Stayed here for 5 nights, very nice staff, room was cleaned everyday, comfortable bed. Could of done with a TV where you could get english channels and air conditioning. Overall I was still satisfied with my stay there, I would stay there again.

Surprisingly nice small room. A bit hard to find, even with Google Maps, Sony attention. Also it is not 24 hour checking-in, so email them in advance, or have a phone handy. But will stay again.
