So mercado de la Paz is our last spot in Madrid before we catch a night train to Barcelona. We're mulling whether to grab something to eat from inside the market or find a sit down spot nearby with outdoor seating. This place came up in both ChatGPT and Gemini as a "do not miss", "quintisential" experience to have in the mercado de la paz neighbourhood... So walk upto the waiter and ask for a place for 2..... Thankfully for us, a couple had just got done and was vacating their space so we were accomodated there, otherwise even at 6.45 PM which is very early for dinner in Madrid, the place was completely full We heard that this place was famous for its spanish omlettes and had options that satisfied both factions of the debate "con/sin cebolla"... Being firmly on the "con cebolla" side of the debate, we got the with onions option or course Their omlettes are a bit on the runner side... But that was fine by us... We got a "half omlette" which was a huge portion and in hindsight a quarter (also on the menu) would have done just fine too 😅😅 the tortilla was great ... I am still more partial to the one I make at home but I will give these guys the silver medal 😝 We also got a plate of croquettes with tomato mozzarella which had a very consistent and smooth filling and a crunchy exterior. Very balanced and great as bar food.... Service was quick and prompt... the place is clearly a local favorite and that's always a strong stamp of approval that merits a visit

What a great place to have a quick snack. Located in the Mercado La Paz, Casa Dani is know for their torta. Thanks to #jamesblick we found it. He was correct. It is amazing. We had the torta and croquettas, with of course, a beer and a vermouth. The torta was filled with potatoes, ham and eggs. Cooked to perfection. I thought it would be mushy, but it was not. I really loved it. As for the croquettas (jamon), they were perfection. Would just go back? Absolutely 💯.

Have to say, Phil was damn right about this place. Our first time, didn’t know what to expect, what to order, we just asked them to recommend what they wanted us to experience and just had to be sure it was enough for 2. Everything suggested and served were amazing! From their Spanish omelette, to their sous vide artichoke, lamb chops and even their homemade cheesecake! Definitely a must visit when in Madrid.

Came here three time during my three-day stay in Madrid. Also found out an interesting Phil’s show from the comment. Service was excellent, always with a big smile. I’d suggest to come in early to avoid the queue during lunch. If the one in the market is busy, you can go out and turn right where there’s another Dani on the Calle Lagasca street. Tips: Half-portion is enough for one person. Was here for lunch. Located in the midst of the market. The restaurant was a little cramped but it was totally worth it. We got recommendations from the server and he did a great job! Every single dish introduced was delicious! And to seal the deal was the cheese cake! A must have when visiting! Servers were all busy but always ready to help with a smile.

The hype is justified. Truly the most delicious tortilla con cebolla I’ve had. I can only dream of learning the technique in achieving a tortilla with a creamy center and a well-cooked exterior. Truly worth a visit and several visits thereafter.

Amazing tortilla de patatas (Spanish omelette)! Came here with my friend at noon and ordered a giant tortilla de patatas with chorizo and bacon for 18 euros to share, along with two beers. We wanted croquettes as well, but the waitress said that the omelette would be too much food already. We didn't believe her until we saw it! It was gigantic, loaded with potatoes, onions, and meat. It was also semi-cooked, which gave the inside a super rich and creamy flavor. Definitely one of a kind, I'd highly recommend trying the tortilla de patatas, especially at Casa Dani!

I’ve been told multiple times that this place was great, and I can’t explain how true that is. We ordered the tortilla, artichokes and spinach buñuelos, and they were all amazing! The tortilla and artichokes were one of the best I’ve had so far. The atmosphere is also very nice and the personnel is very friendly and fast. One thing to consider is that this place is always full, so you need to get there early.

Phenomenal lunch. I was skeptical it'd be this good because it's so popular with tourists, but there were lots of locals, which was a great sign. Lo and behold, each dish that came out was better than the next. Probably best tasting tortilla de patatas I've tried. Our waitress Alejandra provided great service too. Coming back for sure!

Oh my gosh, it was just so good! This is not the typical, traditional pinxtos you're expecting, but it's even better. The tuna panko pinxtos were absolutely phenomenal! The teriyaki eel with foie and crispy seaweed and rice was so good that we ordered it again. We also got the egg with bacon pinxto which was simple but done very well. The smoked salmon one was so full of salmon and the filling was so yummy! We also got the traditional egg with potato and it was the best we've had during our trip. You should definitely make a reservation here! The line was so long when we got there, and even as we left, there was still a queue. Highly recommend this place! One of the best restaurants we've eaten at!

We were looking for some more refined tapas beyond the usual croquetas and jamón (which are great, but Spanish cuisine has so much more to offer). We tried the roast beef, foie gras, and the one with anchovies—all beautifully prepared, delicate, and full of flavor. We definitely need to come back to try their popular tortilla. The waiting time was very reasonable, and the playlist and overall vibe were fantastic.

Truly on the best tapas experiences I’ve had in my life! Had their signature tortilla de papas y canola confitada and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD, as well as other dishes that ere also delicious. The tortilla was very tasty. We didn’t have a reservation, but we were able to have some pinchos at the bar. This is a great place to try tortilla — even though it may seem like a simple dish, here it tastes special, and it’s definitely worth ordering. I’m sure the other dishes are also great. For lunch or dinner, I recommend making a reservation, as the place filled up very quickly after opening.

Amazing place for pintxos. We ordered four different ones and each one was so flavorful, very much worth the price. By far the best tortilla I have ever had (and I have had many). Sat at the bar and received friendly, attentive service from Angel. Hope to come back next time I am in Madrid!

Loved the salmorejo here! Croquettes and beer were good too. A cool small bar space with mostly standing tables. Was busy but not loud to the point where you couldn’t hear each other. Great service.

Ignore every street sign. Every shop on gran via. Every other restaurant. Leave behind the tides of tourists and make a beeline to Bodega De La Ardosa. I would recommend dishes, but you can go alphabetically through the menu and return to go through it backwards the next day. Hell, you could just move in and do all your meals here. You can afford it too. Pro tip: get a vermouth. It comes with anchovies.

Bodega de la Ardosa is less about going for tapas and more about stepping into Madrid’s heart and letting it feed you. Established in 1892, it still wears its age proudly with wood-panelled walls, red tiles and vintage signs. The best way to eat here is to hand yourself over to the staff. Ask them to surprise you and dishes arrive that make you wonder why you would ever order for yourself again. The tortilla is legendary, the croquetas melt and the salmorejo carries the sun of Andalusia in every spoonful. The vermouth on tap is a ritual in a glass, sweet and bitter in perfect balance, while the wine list is quietly stupendous. Staff are guides as much as servers and the atmosphere hums with locals, travellers and a back room only found by ducking under the bar. Why not come here always?

Such a cool little bodega! Was happy to find this open on a Sunday evening, and even happier with the very friendly service despite my total deficiency of Spanish. Great tapas and nice house white wine.

Anchovies were not that great, but the grilled artichokes and the tortillas were extremely good! The staff can’t speak English but please ask for an english menu at the bar and point out what you’d like from there. Interior design was also super authentic and amazing!

This spot is a classic, old-school Madrid bar. The atmosphere is amazing, the venue’s vibes and decoration are outstanding (take into account that you probably will have to eat standing up) and the staff is super efficient and friendly. However, I found it extremely expensive and the food was quite average. The food is good (not more than that) and the portions are really small for such a high price, which is why I don’t think it deserves more than 3 stars. I had the braised ox cheek “Carrillera de Buey Estofada” (14 EUR), a slice of potato tortilla “Pincho de Tortilla” (4 EUR) and a beer (5 EUR). They only have one beer type, which was ok for me. Also, the tortilla was far from the best ones I have had in other places. It was really good, don’t get me wrong, but not more than that. And the meat was SUPER GOOD, extremely tender and tasty... but the portion was just too small to be 14 EUR. I spent 23 EUR for a dinner and I left the place quite hungry. Additionally, if you want a bit of bread you have to pay an additional 1.50 EUR…

Old Bar, looks fabulous and gives a great old bar vibe. Service was really bad. While the bar was kind of empty there were still no places to sit. Alcohol was priced well food was expensive.

Got here just before close and enjoyed a salty, savoury Brie, ham and truffle tortilla. It would have been better warm but we were just happy to get one in before they closed. Paired with a super sour, dark fruit beer by little rain and it was the perfect late night snack.

Come for the tortillas and stay for the croquetas… we ordered the traditional tortilla, which was a little bit on the sweet side due to the amount of onion in it it was very interesting and taste well but a little bit different than the usual tortilla. It’s to the croquettes we ordered the mushrooms croquettes, and it was really amazing worthwhile to try!

Super nice and friendly little tortilla restaurant which serves slizes of different kinds of tortilla, along with a piece of bread. Quite basic in its (tasty) offerings, but pulsating with life. I loved the atmosphere! (Only indoor seating/standing!)

What a cool place for a snack. Prepare to wait in line but don't be discouraged it goes quickly. The menu has a wide selection of croquettas, tortas, and beer. You find a table, order at the counter and pay immediately. Really inexpensive. Would I go back? Probably not because the tortas were not hot and it was crazy busy at mid afternoon. Dinner is supposed to be worse.

If you wanna fall in love with tortilla this is the right place for you, the food is incredible and you’ll want to just keep on eating it! I recommend trying different types of pinchos

My must every time I visit Madrid. Tortillas and croquettes are good and if you like craft bear - they have a lot of Madrid’s lagers and IPAs. Keep in mind that the place is small so it’s more for a quick snack rather for a long dinner with friends.

The best tortilla de patatas in town!! The price is VERY reasonable and the flavor is excellent. #1 tapas bar in my opinion.

This is a lovely Spanish cafe/bar just off Calle Ponzano. The food is delicious, everything made from scratch and the best Tortilla Espanola I have ever tasted. 😋

It gets very busy, but for a good reason!

Finally got to visit the legendary Sylkar last week after months of trying to find the moment, and I have to say it was worth the wait. Without doubt the best Spanish omelette I have tried in bar or restaurant. You can order it with or without onion, although my favourite was with. I don't know how many they must make in a day but in the couple of hour I was there they didn't stop churning them out. Each one to a great "runny" standard!! I didn't try anything else on the menu but for what I saw all the dishes and tapas looked great. A must for any "Totilla" lover

I'm not sure it's the best, but it is for sure the best Tortilla I have ever had. Environment is simple, informal but clean and tidy. Food is just great, besides the Tortilla, the Revueltos, Croquetas and Jamon are also great. Prices are higher than other places, but you get what you pay.

Very nice place in Madrid . They say that they are specialists cooking Tortillas españolas, and certainly they are. Also ask for callos and the hake. About the wine, be careful, they will try to sell you whatever bottle they have in stock. It would be a very nice wine but maybe a little overrated.

The service upstairs was amazing. Some of the best foods we had in Athens. All home made. The lady serving us was wonderful.

Not a good experience overall. Food: very standard Ox (not dry aged) with a high price. The ox came (as usual) with a huge bone but on top of that came with a lot of fat which made the price really high for not much usable meat. Starters: Croquetas were very standard and inside they were cold. Callos: ok Desert: 22€ for a piece of bread with just a cream of Cabrales cheese. In the menu is described as Ice Cream. Service was not great and they all looked overwhelmed and the restaurant was not even 50% capacity. Overall experience: not very good, is a restaurant made for expat tourism other than for locas. Price was extremely high for the quality of the product. Not recommended.

the tortilla de betanzos was absolutely beautiful perfectly cooked outside with warm runny yolk on the inside.. the anchoas de santona were so delicately salted.. the enselada de ventresca was delicious.. the croquetas de cremosa were so creamy/soupy on the inside..

The steak was outstanding: taste so aromatic, perfectly grilled - truly amazing. The restaurant itself has a nice setting, great tables for groups of 4/5 and the service was good. I do think it has some room to grow in their Appetizers and other dishes. It could be a bit more edgy. Overall for me a good experience, but also very expensive for this experience

The chistorra was amazing those peppers are liffe. The tortilla de patata was sssooo disappointing. I think what makes it so particular is that they tried to make it so different It is a good tortilla the potatos don't get me wrong but I wouldn't go back for it. The potatos are cut very thin and square the egg is extremely runny if you want to try a different type of tortilla go there missing the chuncks of potatos and onions. Service was nothing special. Overall I would go back for the chistorra and a salad for sure.

I don’t understand why it has 3.9 stars here. It’s amazing. The best tortilla I’ve ever had: fresh, juicy, amazing. The meat was cooked to perfection and full of herbal flavours. Tomato salad with onions was a great compliment to our meal. It may seem a bit pricey for such simple recepies, but the quality of ingredients and the cooking techniques are worth every penny. But please fix the squaky door at the entrance😂

Steak was great, super pricey and we ordered a ribeye but got a strip steak. Dry age was fuuunky, which was awesome, loved that. Sausage was great. Tomatoes and onions were great. We did not order fries, but were charged and they served them. Thanks. Craziest thing was I ordered a Negroni and the waiter said yes confidently. It was horrible, I made some faces, but because of the language barrier I did not complain. My wife said "man up and drink it!". Lol, I did, and realized after another sip I had been served gin and tomato juice. A wretched combination. Wine was lovely.

Maybe I am bias because I live in Spain but the food was ok. The tortilla was good but I've definitely had much better. Bravas weren't great. I get it it's their take on it but it's more like bbq soaky potatos? Everything was on a salty side. I didn't really get the salad. The rice was good but not really authentic. Good cocktail and wine menu. Staff were not so attentive. Overall, I feel like I overpaid.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday around 2:30 (early for Spanish times) and it was already quite packed. We did not have a reservation and yet they managed to squeeze us in somewhere for an hour which we greatly appreciated. The service was excellent and professionally friendly. We ordered 2 starters and a main to share and it was more than enough. The cod fish fritters were absolutely delicious but my personal highlight were the peppers filled with cod and mushrooms in a tomato based sauce!! 100% recommend. We had the black rice with sea food as a Main. Potion size is generous. Since it was a hot day we only had water but the wine menu looked great and I cannot wait to come back and try that out too! Prices are medium to high for Spain but still very affordable and definitely justified. When we left there was a queue outside so I do recommend to reserve a table

Delicious food. The fish soup is amazing. The lamp is delicious. Very good black rice paella. The atmosphere is amazing. Excellent experience. I tried many restaurants in the Plaza Mayor, those for tourists and the taste is bad. This restaurant recommended by our hotel. The portions are big but we split it 😀

For who looking for great food in Madrid you have to try this place! One of the best restaurants in the city with amazing variety. Everything on the bill we’ve tried before and this time it tasted even better! The staff were super friendly and the cheesecake was legendary I can honestly say it competes with Alex’s cheesecake! This visit was a sharing meal for two (and we’re big eaters) ¡Hala Madrid! 😂 You’ll need a reservation but we booked just 30 minutes in advance and it worked fine. And if you don’t like it message me, I’ll take the blame! 😂🏃🏻‍♂️

The environment is excellent, and the service is also good. It's best to book in advance. The dishes have some absolute improvements and innovations, offering rich flavors and textures. The squid ink rice is very creamy, and the tofu cheese green pepper shrimp is delicious. Three dishes and one dessert are enough for two people.

It said it is a Galician food but very far from it. The service was horrible and the food too. Please, do not order the spanish Tortilla of Betanzos. My goodness, it was really disgusting. The chef has to go to Betanzos to learn how to do it. We asked for an octopus, nothing outstanding. The baked meat, it was super dry and with French fries because the side that belonged to the dish was no longer available. We asked for a sangria, and they only had tinto de verano. We also asked for clams they did not have more either. The server were very basic and unpolite. I definitely do not recommend it. 0%

One of my favourite restaurants in Madrid ! Food is always very delicious ! Tortilla de patatas is something special . Also I like seafood in this restaurant , always fresh and prepared so tasty. And famous Spanish desert “arroz con leche” is so delicious there.

A short ride on the green (Line 5) from Gran Via. Great ' poor's lobster 🦞 dish and lamb. Very reasonable portions and prices. Service was outstanding. Reservations advised. Recommended

one word. WOW. this restaurant is amazing, everything was perfect from the service, to the food. i don't remember exactly what we ordered but i remember i enjoyed everything, this is authentic spanish food and you won't be deceived. don't skip on their white one.

How to ruin a good meal when staff don’t know what they are doing…. The meal was all right… fair approximation on how Galician food should be. I mean, if you are really into this geographic cuisine then you are better off taking the effort to travel up north of the country, but for a Sunday night in the capital of Spain it does the job. Now, that’s the food itself. So my two stars are for the great atmosphere they created inside and the chef… other than that, the service was terrible. You can see on the first food picture, the waitress literally threw the plate on the table and a bit of food came out without even caring to say anything… took forever to get noticed, and had to walk up front to be able to pay. I keep saying that no matter how good or mediocre the good is, most of the power relies behind how the service team makes you feel during your meal. And they definitely made us feel worthless during our dinner. So, not sorry, but we won’t come back.

Good place for “comida gallega”. We followed the recommendations of the waiters and it was amazing! - ternera - tortilla - tomato All of them super tasty! The ternera even pass “the spoon test” (can be cut with a spoon)

Ended up here kind of as a last resort on a Friday as it was the only place around with a reservation available. Ended up being the best meal we've had in Madrid so far. Both the wines we got were delicious. The free tapa had the most delicious sausage and potatoes. The scallops were excellent, the sausage was our favorite, the duck gyozas were delicious. Would definitely recommend.

A good stop in Madrid! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Located just next to the Temple of Debod, Txirimiri Ferraz totally exceeded our expectations. We ordered the Tortilla de Cebolla Caramelizada and the Tortilla de Txistorra e Idiazábal (medium size) both were perfectly cooked, soft inside and full of flavor. The Delicias de Idiazábal dish was deliciously creamy and rich, and the calamari rings were crispy and fresh, with some bread on the side to complete the meal. The service was friendly, the atmosphere cozy, and the portions generous — we left completely satisfied and happily full. A must-visit spot for authentic Spanish bites near Debod Temple!

One of the best meals I’ve had in Spain! The artichokes melted in your mouth. We also got a goat cheese salad as a starter. I had a lightly fried cod with white wine. Everything we ordered was delicious that night, and we came with a large group. I cannot wait to come back again soon !

A wonderful neighborhood Basque themed restaurant. A good Txakoli available. Grilled artichokes and grilled vegetable plates are very good. The entrecôte was perfectly cooked and a generous portion. Most wines at 3 euros a glass.

The food was absolutely amazing with a few fusion dishes. There was only two of us so we could not order and experience a lot of dishes. What I enjoy is that this restaurant is not very touristy. We had some great conversations with some locals sitting next to our table. I would have given this restaurant a five star had a waiter not been so cool to us at the beginning.

Great food with nice service! We weee recommended the restaurant by a friend from Madrid and so pleased he did. We loved it so much we paid a second visit later in the week with another friend so we could enjoy some amazing Tapas. The Spanish omelette is Definitely one to squeeze in too!

Super busy, super crowded. The tortilla with onion was so delicious, and the albondigas were also tasty. The portion was quite okay. I would definitely return for the food, not much for the vibe.

Best tortilla I had in Madrid. I ve took 3 pinchos.. 1 salmon & Roquefort 1 tortilla classic with onions + 1 tortilla with peppers and caramelizwd onions. This last one was prob not the best because peppers arrived a bit too cold .. but I give 5 anyway because the overall taste was unbelievable. I ll be back for sure

This place is a neighborhood gem! We ate here each night of our stay in Madrid after our first visit. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere can’t be beat. They specialize in tortilla & croquetas, all of which are great. We had tortilla (chistorra, cebolla caramelizada con cabral, and puerro), croquetas (boletus, cabrales, ibèrico, and cocido), albòndigas, and more. Come early and prepare to be patient - it gets increasingly busy as the evening progresses & the servers are moving on all cylinders. It’s definitely a popular spot with locals. The whole place was packed, indoors & outdoors, each night, and everyone is happy to be there. Our guy Jose is A++! It’s a few blocks away from Argüelles station (Yellow 3 line on the Metro heading towards Moncloa). Make the trip to Casa Paco, and have a bit of tortilla for us.

If you want a really good & tasty tortilla in Madrid , this is your place ❗You have to try the tortilla with salmon and Rockford, it's delicious. The prices are so good and the staff is friendly & kind. Highly recommend it.

Mr Raul holman was excellent hosts. We taken fantastic care never felt like customers. I felt like he was a family member serving all the time. The best food ever edit. I wish I was living here so I could come at least once a week to have food at this restaurant, very good made with perfection, hot freshly madeimpressive. Keep it up.

Had such a great dinner at Docomar. Was recommended here for their Patatas Bravas. Unique salsa sauce and their rendition is the one with a slightly more spicy and zesty sauce. My waiter Juan Antonio also speaks excellent English and is warm and friendly. Will return to try their Tortilla de Patatas next time since I didnt have stomach space anymore.

Great paella! If you are looking for authentic Spanish food that’s the place to go🧡 Consider making a reservation because there is always crowd here. Not many vegetarian options but there is some you can choose from.

An amazing place, food is exceptional, the service is efficient and friendly and the atmosphere is lively. A real tapas bar for the uninitiated, raciones are served with a drink and the portions are decent. I don’t know how or why people score this place so low, I think because it’s busy and they don’t get a table or the service is curt, they get upset.

Really nice place to visit! The papas braves are the best!

The food is good and the atmosphere is very inviting. The staff are really friendly and quick, and the place is clean and well-maintained. I would love to see more options for halal or vegetarian dishes such as vegetable paella, but overall, I would still recommend it. One comment I’d like to make is about the calligraphy on the wall. It appears to be inspired by Arabic script, possibly to reflect Andalusian heritage, but the writing itself is neither accurate Arabic nor does it carry any meaning. It would be wonderful if they used real Arabic—perhaps authentic phrases or verses in the Andalusian—which would make the decor much more meaningful and culturally rich.

Now called Parrilla Alhambra. Well known by the locals and that's how we got there. Short walk from Plaza Del Sol and away from the tourist traps. Had many 'tapas' that were flavorful and served right from the kitchen. Service was prompt, courteous, and friendly. Price was very reasonable and the 'house wine' was very good. Great for late nights and socializing. Highly recommended!

Traditional taverna in the heart of the central tourist area. Despite its central location, the taverna feels like a place for locals to come and enjoy a tapa or a glass of Spanish wine. 🍷

The croquetas de jamón were excellent. Tasty and sizeable. The cazuela de pisto was alright. The waiters, however, were loud and boisterous. I found that a bit disconcerting.

The food was good, it is a pity that as in many places now you don’t find just tosta con tomate, we were said that they could make it from the one with serrano ham that would be removed so price is the same as with ham… Also we asked for patatas bravas and emphasised we only wanted brava sauce and not alioli (for intolerances) and we were asked if that was the red sauce… maybe they have complaints before and that is why they have to double checked on things that are as Spanish as the tortilla de patatas and el tinto de verano… Again, the food was good, just a shame the waitress didn’t know what a larger or IPA type of beer are or a clara con limón… at the end we got served what we wanted so all good.

I found the service lacking considering these aspects. Aditionally, the experience with the waiters was very mixed. One stood out as very welcoming whereas other were not so much. The food was worth 5-stars but the varied service experience is enough for me to consider this a 4-star experience overall.

Very disappointed, it had good reviews, good location and nice facilities but the food was really bad. We order Zamburiñas and had a really strong smell and taste we had to return it, the Pulpo a la Gallega was so bad ! Full of water and not clean .. the taste was so weak… the service was regular (2 stars) … would not recommend this place based on this experience

Four of us, including a child had a wonderful meal here yesterday! The food was amazing, best fish I’ve ever had! Fabulous veggies, steak and even the bread was great. Super staff and very reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. Highly recommend it!

Great place, superb service, very nice ambience. I had one of the best cocktails ever there, their take on the Moscow Mule, but their version is just amazing. Their Cheescake is incredible, so creamy, one of the best I have ever had around the world.

Just super food. We enjoyed everything but highlight was the steak. There was also a crazy performance around midnight we couldn't quite work out. Lots of fire and lights going which was lots of fun but no idea why :-)

We tried the restaurant because it has good reviews and from outside looks great! Our experience was ok, the attention was not the best and the food is a good North Spanish but there are better restaurant around Madrid with the same topic and not to expensive.

I had a few tapas at El Perro Gamberro during my last visit to Madrid. The vegan tortilla and the croquettes were especially yummy. The staff was super friendly and the place has nice vegan vibe. Recommended!

Nice place to have some vegan food. When I ordered the burger 🍔 it said it came with papas fritas. They were OK but they were chips instead of french fries. I was craving the last ones 😩

New location and even better food. We tried the carrot cake and a couple of the new vegan burgers! The staff is awesome, smiley and full of energy. They have a great selection of beers. We were 3 and we had: - Tortilla with potatoes and pumpkin - Fries with oregano - Lentil meatball in champignon’ sauce - Croquetas with eggplant and apple and croquetas with tomato and mint Everything was amazing and really filling. The croquetas are a must!!! The restaurant is small and cozy and all the food is prepared by one chef!

We loved this place. They are so nice and sweet, and the food was really good. The morcilla is amazing and the burgers are espectacular. We ordered the american, the 'la Casa' one and the french one. All of them were sooo good. The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is the desert. We ordered a 'quesada' and it had a taste we didn't love. In this place, you can tell it's homemade and we would like to come back and taste the rest of the menu!

The "Hot-NO-Dog" was fantastic. Very flavoursome and a little bit spicy. Loved that I could get grilled corn as an extra and the homemade lemonade was great too. Price is fair for the quality. Overall lovely vegan food.

Their tortillas and croquettes are really delicious! And hamburgers are AMAZING :) I think it is a very good vegan restaurant. We paid almost 100 EUR for 4 (tortillas, french fries and croquettes to share, one main dish for each, one dessert to share and 4 teas) which I think is a good deal considering the amount and the taste of the food. Would love to come back again!

Really good food for a low price. Friendly service and nice, quiet, relaxed interior (there are not a lot of seats though). We found the japanese-inspired dishes to be especially delicious, they seem to be a speciality of the chef. Even the coffee is nice for people who like 3rd wave coffee. Went there a second time because it was so nice :)

We found Chillin' Cafe on HappyCow and we decided to go there for a breakfast. While there are many improvement opportunities, the overall experience has been very positive. We tried a few items from the menu and everything was delicious. The Fruit Paradise was particularly good. The customer service was great too. Friendly, quick, efficient and they spoke English which is brilliant. Prices were fair. On the negative side, the whole place looks old and it seems like it's falling apart. The doors are both (entrance & toilet) on their last legs and it's perhaps time they replaced them. In general, the whole place needs to be refurbished.

Update 5/19: Today we finally visited this place. The place has an original design, with its own personality. The owner was really friendly, helpful and caring. We ordered lu rou fan, gyozas de maíz y gambas, pollo Frito taiwanés, crepe de kimchi taiwanés con ternera, lemonade and a cocktail. All the dishes were delicious with a distinctive Taiwanese flavour, although the fried chicken was a bit dry (the marinade was perfect though). The cocktail was very refreshing, with a milky flavor. It is a great place to enjoy some relaxing time with friends.

Amazing matcha pancakes! Cute little place in the centre of Madrid. Nice atmosphere and vibe. To make it perfect they could offer some more gluten-free options(they already have gf bread) and maybe a raw option? Raw desserts? If they had thirst or gf pancakes I’d give 5 stars no hesitation. But I totally recommend this place!

Chillin’ cafe is super chill. The have a daily vegan menu with multiple courses and the staff usually show you pictures on their phone of the items which I thought was pretty cool. The desserts are also amazing and the cold brew was really nice. One of my favorite spots in Madrid for sure.

They had a lot of options and it's awesome that it's all vegan. They had burgers, hot dogs, bao, and an Indian tortilla wrap. The meat replacement they used was soy -- which I prefer quinoa or some other savory replacement. We heard the pancakes were good so ordered the matcha one, which came topped with whipped cream, strawberries, and red bean paste. I believe the drizzle on the plate was agave. The pancakes tasted pretty bitter, almost to the point of burnt... And I don't think the sweet toppings counteracted it enough. Maybe I would go for the chocolate and ice cream one. Another thing is that it's a small restaurant and there was only one worker. So it looked like he was just assembling all of the dishes himself... So your food will come out one plate at a time. So if you're going with friends, I would recommend you order to share so you can just eat everything as they come out. For the cheesecake, it was... Alright. Def not the best I've had but not awful. When he cut us a piece, there was a huge hole in the side and he gave us a replacement. Portions are small and prices kinda high for what they are. I don't regret going to this place, but I probably wouldn't go again ;p

We went here twice during our 4 days Madrid trip - the pancakes were very very good and the Bao, which we tried here for the first time, was amazing. A very soft, white bread filled with nuggets or other goodies.. very tasty, you should try it. The waiting times were okay for how packed the place was. They have an english menu and speak fluent english as well - it was easy to order and ask questions. We enjoyed it very much - we will come back again some time!

Our lunch spot on my last full honeymoon vacay day. Found a jewel of a restaurant! Luckily caught the chef on his day off and came to admire his passion for food and pride for his restaurant. Delicious! Best torrezno ever with a truffle mash and egg yolk that added a light richness. Wash down with a rioja and you're in heaven. Then the homemade pasta we found gave the Tuscan Italians a run for their money! Finally a secret dessert you have to ask for. Will be coming back!

As English-speakers, the service was incredibly kind and accommodating. We ordered the (heirloom) tomato salad and the fresh pasta with meatballs (and truffle). Flavor explosion! The atmosphere is cozy. Table was already set with chips and olives.

I went here with some family friends and my mum, the food was expected to be fantastic and it was (especially for the price): averaging around 15€ for a singular tapas dish is a lot to ask; Although it’s good quality so not too much to complain about! I wouldn’t suggest for groups of larger than 5+ because of the small amount of seating. Overall, if you have high expectations for food with high prices, this is your place or treat!

Truly exceptional.. Ivan one of the owners was absolutely charming and welcoming. Explained Barrutia y el 9’s history and recommended plates never to be forgotten. “ the secret “ dessert is a must.. would come back every time I visit Madrid. Loved it!!

A very exquisite & popular restaurant in Madrid! Held by chef Luis Barrutia (who speaks French, kudos👍), this was a truly unique experience. Tight seating, shared tables, amazing atmosphere of people rumbling, dishes rattling… The chef comes in person to steer you through the menu, with his recommendations based on what you like. We had the el foie iberico with its toast (sublime pâté with raisin toasts), sausage omelette (delicious), tostas de sardinas (sardine toast, fabulous), and the highlight for me : los guisantes (peas with ham and egg yolk mixed on the spot, truly fantastic). We also had the postre doble secreto de la casa (secret signature dessert, cheese, salted caramel, vanilla ice cream….mouth watering). Sangria was nice and they also serve draft beer! Can’t stress enough NOT TO MISS this joint if you’re ever in Madrid. Better book in advance. Worth every penny!

Excellent place to enjoy delicious homemade-style food turned into high-level dishes. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Madrid. If you’re not sure what to order, just ask for a recommendation — you won’t be disappointed.

Although this establishment forms part of a major chain, that affiliation need not necessarily entail mediocrity. Unfortunately, in this case, it does. The experience proved deeply disappointing, and I would strongly advise avoiding it. To begin with, the restaurant is significantly overpriced relative to the quality and fast-food style it delivers. The food is unmistakably mass-produced and uninspired — the ensalada rusa (€13), served with crispy bread, was bland, while the cachopo (€29) was excessively oily and heavy. The presentation was equally lacklustre — the tomates de la huerta (€17) arrived with little care or artistry, with few small pieces of tuna and chopped onion, chipirones (€17) were served dry on a bed of potato crisps to add some volume (!). None of the dishes reflected the finesse or authenticity characteristic of Asturian cuisine, which is renowned for its use of exceptional local ingredients. Service was equally unsatisfactory. The waiter appeared impatient and dismissive, creating the impression that guests were an inconvenience rather than valued patrons. Some basic training in hospitality and customer care would be highly advisable. In sum, the entire experience — from the uninspired, ostentatious décor aimed at the nouveau riche to the poor service and mediocre food — was regrettable. I recommend steering clear of this restaurant altogether.

I am giving 4 stars because it was bad but because the service wasn’t premium (or worth 5 stars). The food was tasteful and I can assure you that it reminds of Asturias (the region that the restaurant wishes to represent). We decided to ask all dishes to share, they were well cooked and served all together, and we had 4 bottles of wine. In the end we paid 24€ per person and we came out full and satisfied. It has a great environment but the staff deserves a little more care for the people they serve and probably they will get a 5 star rating. Amazing place to taste Asturias if you go to Madrid! Trust me! :)

Food very tasty. Danny, our waiter, was lovely, super friendly and took the time to explain the dishes to make sure we were happy with our choices.

Loved all of it! Started with squid croquettes and sliced ham, both were juicy and tender. Went on to barbecue platter, which did not disappoint. Sangria was delicious and desserts (apple and chocolate) disappeared quickly. Service friendly. Group of 3 and we all enjoyed thoroughly.

Nice to see a good wheat beer, Pauliners, but why serve Heineken? Terrible beer, and why decorate the whole bar with Heineken bottles? Nice food, but terrible service, waitresses untrained, walking around looking miserable, and rude, why not smile at the customers?expensive food though.. obviously to pay for the new decoration, was better before when it was more sociable, now too trendy.

We ordered the cachopo and the Spanish omelette. The cachopo was tasty, as was the Spanish omelette. The cahopo was reasonable priced, however my only critique was that it was quite dry and the eggs in spanish omelette were not beaten enough.

We came to celebrate new year’s eve. The dinner was good until they brought the steak, over cooked, they changed it 3 times and still were too cooked. The service was distracted at times. Great atmosphere, very nice restaurant and small dance area, it was not over crowded. Different kind of people, some families and groups of friends. Age group was around mid 30s for the majority. We had the grapes sitting in our tables with a big screen.

While the people who received us were not the friendliest and most attentive, the place itself had a nice atmosphere. The food was absolutely outstanding, but the desserts, especially the pistachio cheesecake, fell a bit short. So, if you're planning to visit, go for the savory dishes and skip the dessert menu.

Complimentary olives were really tasty (only few left when taking pic). Homemade croquets were 4/5, I just had the da before really great ones with jamon and these were not as good. The burrata itself was good but unfortunately it came in a dome of smoke. This did not resemble wood smoke but a burnt barbeque :(

Conveniently located just outside Madrid Chamartin station. I was going for an early (18:30) dinner before catching a train. Most Spanish restaurants don't open until after 20:00 - this place was open but with a reduced card. Still with a good selection. I was the only customer so difficult to review the mood, but the staff was friendly, smiling, helpful with my luggage. The food was good but nothing extraordinary (not expecting that anyway). Nicely decorated with dark colours. A place worth a stop on your way

The location is really nice and has parking, which is a plus. We got 3 cocktails: 2 regular ( michelada and 911zielou) one very good, the one with the shoe. 3 meals, 1 very good (cebiche) 1 really normal for the price (chicken) 1 tasteless (tartar) We didn’t get any dessert after the quality of the food of last night. In resume, for us is a no. 1/3 is not a good value specially for the price.

I visited this place on October 2024 for a company meeting dinner. The food was good and the staff were friendly. Everything was well curated, from dish presentation to location atmosphere. Prices are slightly high but It is understandable considering food quality and service. This is an upscale place so I do particularly recommend it for special occasions. All credit cards are accepted here, including American Express.

Lovely restaurant with good food. Great place for a meal with friends or family. We had the ‘Terrina de foie’ and a ‘Tortilla’ for starters, followed by the ‘Tartar de novilla’ and ‘Pluma de cerdo ibérica’. To finish we wanted to try their ‘Tarta de queso’ and ‘Tarta al limón’. The food was amazing and their desserts did not disappoint!

Neat and cozy environment, full of guests, an eye-opening fine restaurant. The attendants were polite and competent. She actively recommended smaller portion of the dishes I ordered. It turned out to be a magnificent decision because I tended to order too much. The fried artichoke, pan-fried clams, porched eggs w/ mushroom were all great in taste and presentation. The leek and shrimp gratin pudding was a bit too much for me, but it was good as well. Wines were great. I was told that I had 1h 30m to finish during booking online. It was not hush since their serving was very efficient. The cost was unbelievably reasonable. Top-tier diet/environment with a mediocre price. Unbelievable. An unforgettable dinner at La Maruca. It is definitely a must you have to try at Madrid.

Service is rude and lazy. A piece of glass appeared on my avocado tartar and almost choke on it. They did not apologize until demanded the manager. After my complaint we cancelled everything.and left. I was a fervent fan. You will never see me again in that place.

Unbelievable experience - I can’t recall such unprofessional service in restaurants with Google rating above 4. OK the waiter didn’t understand single word in English, but he brought us english menu. We finger pointed our selection - cod with peas and paprika/ Galician tripe stew. He nodded and brought us apparently different meals (simple cod with potato ans some spinach soup). When I complained about it to the only English speaking waiter, she told us without any single word of apology that they don’t have vegetables and grilled cod is grilled cod and that tripe stew is not available anymore. I selected Galician beef stew instead which was OK, but overall experience is bitter feeling

I had a good meal with friends. Ir was a week night so the restaurant was at half capacity, which was Nice. The English of the staff was not very good, but I can understand Spanish. The food was really good. Overhaul it was a Nice experience. I will recomend it to friends

This place is great value for money. Food quality is outstanding, together with an attentive and professional service. The place is big enough to host group dinners as well as more reduced tables. Their prices are more than fair for the quality which they offer. I can just recommend: tortilla de patatas, pulpo a la gallega and their empanada. I always go there when I’m in Madrid.

We arrived just by chance, convinced that when the place is crowded, food should be good. And it was great! We tried the cazuela, a tasty mix of mariscos (octopus, shrimps…) the meat and a salad, and will definitely come back for the zamburiños. The “cocina gallega” is always a pleasure…

The tortilla and croquetas were good, and the seafood was nice as well. The razor clams were slightly overcooked. All in all it was good, but didn’t surpass my expectations. The venue looked a little tired but it was very busy regardless

We went for the food and it was great. The calamari with rice surprised us, it was really good, and the "Zamburiñas" is a kind of specialty from the restaurant and you must try it. Overall was a great experience.

Good tapas, affordable prices, would have to try the sit down full experience… So we came here as part of a “croqueta tour” in Lista area in Madrid and this was the first stop. Which means it was early, place was empty and we only had some tapas. Even though it’s not the cheapest place, I still think that the quality deployed with the great service and cool interior design this place has to offer, qualifies for all my 5 stars… which means, yes I will be back, yes I recommend and yes you should try the croquetas because they are just amazingly well crafted. Enjoy! I sure will soon when am back for my full sit down experience. And by the way, they were cool with us bringing our dog! That’s just a full star right there.

Staff are so friendly & helpful. The food is AMAZING! We tried their cheesecake & it was good but I am not a fan of cheesecake but the pistachio ice cream is way beyond expectations! The atmosphere is nice & I would definitely come again!

We went to Tragabuches to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the reception of the staff. The restaurant felt very spacious but personal at the same time and very clean. They made us feel very welcome with a card to wish us a happy anniversary and a glass of cava. We had the following foods: tragabuches, tuna slices, razor clams, lamb chops, and Iberian pig shoulders. The food was amazing. Just a tiny comment: we were expecting more meat on the cutlets. It had a lot of fat chunks. Very good experience overall. I’d gladly come back here on my next trip to Madrid!

We told the restaurant when booking that we are celebrating our anniversary, on arrival they placed a congratulations card on the table and offered us a free glass of bubbly - already made the evening so special only 10 mins in! The food was really great quality and quite a varied menu. I just wish my lamb chops had less fat and a little more meat on them. Otherwise would highly recommend and would come back! Thank you for making our anniversary meal so special!

I went an hour before they closed and the kitchen was already closed. They were only serving tortillas so I got two orders of that. It was okay, but not much flavor. After I was done eating I waited almost 15 minutes for the waiter to come with the check. I was the only person in the restaurant and he was sitting around on his phone. In their defensive I didn’t feel like getting up and asking for the bill, so instead I waited lol. Free water was nice

Traditional vegan eatery that serves great local staple dishes. Went there several times during my visit to Madrid. They serves dishes that traditionally contain eggs, so it is nice to be able to experience the vegan versions of those staple Spanish dishes 🙏 I also noticed that many locals dropped by for their brekkie, which is a nice testament for the authenticity of the local dishes 😍

Quaint little "hole in the wall" vegan restaurant. The server suggested a dish, but then mixed up the order, so gave us tiny taste portions of what she had recommended along with our original order. Everything was so good and the vegan tortilla was just as delicious as a non vegan in Granada. She also charged us for only 3 coffees not 4, because of her "mistake". Coffees were delicious. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your hospitality and very warm service. We enjoyed both — food and atmosphere. My friend has never tried vegetarian meat and was amazed how its smooth and substantial it was. The host offered us some appetizers to try and lemonade in the end (bcs my order was very spicy). So highly recommend!

Good food. Good environment. We ordered the empanada, which is a small portion but very tasty and pricey. We ordered the tortilla which is only potato and eggs, very runny, but its their style and tasted good. For main plates we ordered the pulpo with potatoes and lomo de merluzs. Pulpo was great and merluza was average.

Wonderful spot! I really enjoyed their tortilla de bentazos! It is a wonderful egg omelette with potatoes inside. Great atmosphere and wonderful service! Their bread was amazing as well! Perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy in the inside! I would definitely recommend coming here if you are nearby!

Fantastic restaurant with a great staff. They were super friendly and made some great recommendations from the menu. We tried the shrimp and monkfish skewer and the octopus, clams, and shrimp in garlic and olive oil and finished with the filloas (Galician crepe). The food was delicious. Honestly, it was the worst place we had eaten in Madrid. I added a star as we were seated without reservation, and at first instance, the waiter was nice, but that is where it all ended. The menu, which you had to scan the qr code , was not functioning properly. we eventually had to switch language back to Spanish. It took ages for anyone to come over to take our food order, and eventually, we had to flag someone down. We ordered Ibberian pork and octopus. The food took such a long time to come out while other tables got served before us. We were nearly ready to walk when food arrived. My octopus was nice as was mash till I found half cooked potato in it. Pork was nice, but too much added salt and portion for what you hey for the price was tiny. Pork on its own was around 18 euros without any garnish. Again, we had to try to get the attention of servers to ask for a bill. No one came over to ask how our food was, nor did they waitress who took payment. While we appreciate the waiter taking us in and my food was ok, the price does not reflect the food quantity or service.

Some days better than others. Tortilla was very salty and the croquetas had too much nutmeg. Would return but not until they sort out their consistency. Decor and service is very good.

Great vibes! Awesome ambiance, I also went with an amazing group of people so that l Tends to light up almost any situation. Service was up to standard, unfortunately didn't eat so can't comment on the food but the decor is soo good!

Excellent Galician restaurant in the heart of Madrid. The tortilla is juicy and flavorful, and the Cañón Sanchón is spectacular—tender and full of flavor. The service was attentive and the atmosphere very pleasant. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Fantastic lunch, especially the Cañon de Sanchon was so soft and flavourful. The cheese cake was one of the best I ever had. The waiters were very kind and attentive. Only downside was that it was extremely hot in the restaurant, but it was also a particularly hot day with 38 degrees.

One of the best restaurants we went to during this trip. So good that we ate here twice at two different locations. This was the original one. Seafood here is extremely fresh. Really liked how they had fresh catch of the day options. I got a variety of dishes over our two dining experiences. The monkfish and shrimp risotto was fantastic. We also got their empanadas, and braised a beef dish which was also well made. When we came here a second time we got squid ink rice and octopus which were also very well made. Can't go wrong with roasted artichoke here either. We did not try their egg dish but was told this is also very good.

Zamburiñas (8/10): Delicious scallops. Very rich and tender! Cañón de Sanchon (7/10): The meat was pretty good. The dish is way too greasy and lacks balance. Lots of grease and potatoes. I would say I enjoyed this, but probably wouldn't order it again. Rape con Gambón y Rissoto (6/10): The risotto was decent. The fish and shrimp were pretty average. I definitely wouldn't order this again. The dishes were all kind of overwhelming and too greasy. Prices are pretty fair for how much you get. Service was pretty fast, and the restaurant is well-lit and comfortable.

Tasty Galician food (specially the Zamborinas and the pulpo), the waiter was very friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere.

A cozy lofted nook for Spanish food. We started with scallops and octopus. The octopus had a lot of oil that I needed a bit of bread to eat with it. The scallops had a lot of sauce, but it made the scallops taste like a bomb in your mouth. Wine wise, we chose a few glasses to try whites and reds, but we ended up going for a bottle of the house red. We loved it so much, we bought 2 bottles to bring home. The label was so adorable; it had the restaurant name on it in cursive letters. Mains, we got croquettes, squid, and the meat. The croquettes and squid were both great, but the meat was absolutely amazing. I think it was the best dish I ate in Madrid.

This traditional Galician bistro features a charming vintage wooden interior. The seating is divided between a main floor and a cozy loft, with many interesting paintings and stories adorning the walls. The waitstaff are very friendly and welcoming. I tried the Grilled Squid with Garlic and Parsley and the Cañón de Sanchon, both of which were delicious and full of flavor. Including drinks, my total came to about 42 EUR. If you want to experience Galician cuisine, this is a fantastic restaurant to visit. The portions and prices are very reasonable, and I look forward to trying more dishes on my next visit.

Reviews are spot on. We picked this spot for lunch. Everything we ordered was great. Sangria was definitely up there with some of the best. Mushrooms were the highlight.

I visited this place last year and honestly it’s one of the best tortillas I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is amazing the staff are really friendly and welcoming, and the interior feels like old traditional Spain. Definitely worth a visit!

In my visit to Madrid, I had the opportunity to have dinner in Meson restaurant. It was a good experience. They have nice food and they wine was not bad at all. Could be cheaper. The restaurant decoration was very cool, with a vintage vibe.

This is not a bad place, just really don’t understand the high ratings. It was a limited menu with average service. The “big seller”, the tortilla was average. The prices are really high.

Food was less than average. Tapas we ordered was mostly pre-made and deep fried. Sangria was good 👍🏼

Very Instagrammable spot—beautiful interior design that sets a lovely vibe. The food was really good, and I loved the cheesecake—definitely a highlight. The only downside was the staff rushing us because of table timings, which made the experience feel a bit pressured. Still, it’s a nice place overall, and you can head downstairs for drinks at the bar after dinner, which is a great touch.

Fantastic!! The food was so great! All on point. Dont mind my pictures everyone was hungry so there wasnt time enough for the pictures. Great ambiance the music the people everything! Better imposible. Recomended and after having dinner on the second floor, we moved down to the bar which had a DJ, with great music and full of people dancing etc. Its not cheap but its worth it. Oh and the coctails must try the house coctails!

Our first night in Madrid could not have started better! Our concierge recommended Casa Salesas and it was fabulous! The food was excellent and the service Will provided was superior. There were 4 of us who ordered a variety of starters and each was served with perfection and outstanding timing. Will also did a marvelous job in recommending various wines to pair with the wide variety of dishes. All around marvelous experience!

My girlfriend and I went here for a birthday dinner and we loved it. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere — the interior is cool, the vibe is great, and the music was honestly perfect. Our waiter, Wil, was incredible the whole night: super friendly, attentive, and just a genuinely good guy. The food was also very good, we enjoyed everything we ordered. Overall, a great experience and definitely a place we’d come back to.

This cocktail bar, located on the edge of Chueca, showcases several new cocktail flavors. They’re packed with flavor, but a bit on the small side. Finally, the food was fantastic, but it lacked some spice. The truffle risotto is definitely recommended, as is the grilled chicken. The vitello tonato was incredibly soft, but the sauce lacked a hint of anchovy. Furthermore, the atmosphere was incredibly cozy. For a fun night out with friends, this is perfect. Definitely recommended for a cocktail evening.

The food was nothing special. The pasta might be one of the worst cacio e Pepe I ever had. The service is very good and kind. The atmosphere is great I would come back for the music and drinks but not the food.

We ordered their classic tortilla (4 eggs with onions). Upon first bite it was pretty good, however the more you eat the more the sweetness takes over. There was also a bitter note at the end of each bite. It was also more runny than I expected. it was a good to share item, but heavy overall.

We went there after a concert in the Palacio de los Deportes, a bit late in the evening and we found easily a spot to have a bite. The tortilla we tried was nice and everything was quick and nice. The restaurant is not specially big inside. If you want a bit quick, and healthy this is your place.

The place was awesome. The terrace is lovely, the service very fast. We were a group of 20 people and it is not always easy to handle all the requests. We all agreed that were the best tortillas we could have had until then. If you really want to be sure that you’ll eat amazing and that everyone is satisfied at the end, this is definitely your place. In addition, I am celiac/ have gluten allergy, and they really took care of it. Also I could enjoy the best tortillas of Madrid over a gluten free beer 🍻 Thank you!

Chill place in the Goya area. The Tortillas are good with different flavors. I recommend it if you are in the area.

A representative of the increasingly modern indie restaurants scene in Lavapies. Together with top Senegalese restaurants (in Meson de Paredes) and traditional alternative terrazas (in Argumosa), in recent years the area has seen the emergence of small but fancy places serving creative cuisine of different types In the case of La Lorenza, we have a Galician soul complemented with some Latin American sparkles (ají amarillo in some of the dishes, and these lovely spicy escabeches) or even Asian influences (the lovely gyozas) We go for dinner on a Saturday night, and the atmosphere reflects the characteristic mix of the area, no longer the hotspot of political (and life style) radicals that it once was, but where you can still feel some avant-garde flavors. The place is full of (more or less) young people, mostly groups but also a few couples. It is relatively noisy but this goes well here We’re received by a long-haired, white-haired, probably fifty-something guy, who gives us a massively large QR code for the menu, and explains the daily specials to us. Among these, there are plenty of casquería things, that my partner is not so fond of, but they also have Croquetas de Savel (a sublime blue cheese from Lugo) with anacardos, and Escabeche de Mejillones. We only order one croqueta, as the long-haired guy has scared us with his comments about how potent they were (they are not). We also order the Escabeche, which immediately becomes a highlight of our dinner here, with its lovely spicy touch Apart from these, we get a couple of Croquetas de Jamón (a bit too full of cocido taste, maybe), and then Gyozas de Caldeirada de Pulpo, which are another highlight, and Merluza a la Romana, which is nice, just maybe not so differential as the Escabeche, the Gyozas or the Savel Croquetas. Beer is dobles de Mahou, so no problem at all with this. Service is great. And there are no reasons not to leave the place with a smile on your face. We’ll probably be back soon (from what we see around, the Tortilla Melosa de Patata is something we should not miss in the next visit) Price was around €40 / head

Some dishes were very tasty but others lacked flavour and were not good value for the price. Staff were friendly but forgetful - had to ask multiple times for things like water

The food was good but we were kind of expecting more, based on the reviews. The puerro, that was the waiter suggestion was the best plate in our opinion. Actually, the service was great! Even though the food wasn't what we expected, the service was so good that we would surely return.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and excellent cocktail menu. We hadn’t booked but they had plenty of space at 8pm on a Saturday however I would recommend going later to enjoy the atmosphere and booking in advance to avoid disappointment. We shared 5 dishes with bread to share, the standout being a special of the evening; a seafood brioche dish that was packed with flavour. The other dishes were very light but again, punchy flavours and interesting textures all around. The bill came to around €83 including a tip so it’s not cheap but well worth it.

Hidden gastronomic corner at a walkable distance from Reina Sofía museum. We tried different dishes and all of them were really delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, the friendly service and the pleasant music frames the perfect customer experience. Defo going back.

A fantastic innovative menu. Flavors textures aromas are combined to make flavors that are unique and stimulating, while warming and comforting. Cocktails are as innovative as the food.

Great venue and decor. Really hard working and friendly staff. Airy and clean. But sadly dissapointed with the three dishes we tried. The tomato and foccacia was bland in flavour and the tetaki was a very ugly dish. Hiding amongst the mountain of lettuce and undercooked rice was some seaweed and the dish felt confused about what it wanted to be.

Staff are super nice and polite, when we arrived they gave us some recommendations of plates to try. The food was amazing, portions were perfect to share between 2 people. It's now one of our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood.

The best casqueria restaurant in Madrid. Easy to order, great for sharing, and very good wine selection. I truly recommend it!

This place does not disappoint. We ordered the cecina croquettes, tacos de ternera (so delicious that we ordered them twice!), raviolis de carrillera and brioche con anchoa. Everything was beautifully cooked with a great balance of flavours and textures. We also ordered the steak tartare although this was not the best I have had and the full portion was still a bit small for 3 people. 👌😋

If you have allergies avoid this place. The menu doesn’t display the allergens, they have another list which it’s not very exact, plus most of stuff has traces or egg. Doesn’t give much confidence. Fortunately the staff is quite friendly and the food is ok, but not as good as I expected, despite this I Highly recommend the pig paws to which I give a 10. The place is not to cozy and it puts me off that they charge me for the bread and snack when I have not asked for it. But the worst thing is that they could not prepare something decent and easy on a frying pan for my son, who ended up without eating anything.
