Paid a visit to Koel today on August 14th.
Parmesan-crusted chicken turned out to be a great choice. The chicken was crispy, fresh, and topped with authentic Parmesan, served alongside a delightful cheesy sauce, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. You can also add an extra chicken fillet for an additional 450rs. The Koel special club sandwich, served with french fries, was very tasty. However, the Margherita Pizza fell short of expectations and could use some improvement.
For drinks, we tried the cold cappuccino, which is perfect if you enjoy the bitterness of coffee (9/10), the Hazelnut Frappe, which had a slight vanilla-like taste and was pleasantly sweet (9/10), and the peach iced tea (7.5/10).
As for the ambiance, it was a truly enjoyable experience, thanks to the lush greenery and the calm atmosphere, complemented by the soothing sounds of birds chirping.
Prices are reasonable compared to other cafes in Karachi, making this spot even more appealing.
Must visit at least once.
Detailed Review for Keol Cafe Karachi
I recently dined in at Keol Cafe Karachi, and while my overall experience had some positives, the quality of the pizza left me quite disappointed. First, I have to mention that the atmosphere was excellent—the ambiance was cozy, the lighting was well-balanced, and the seating was comfortable. It’s a great spot to sit and enjoy a meal with friends or family. The staff was polite, and the service was fairly quick, which added to the positive impression at the beginning.
However, when it came to the food, particularly the pizza, things took a turn for the worse. From the top, the pizza looked great—fresh toppings, well-melted cheese, and an inviting presentation. The taste itself was decent, with a good balance of flavors. But the biggest issue was the crust. The bottom of the pizza was completely burned, covered in black patches, which made it almost impossible to enjoy. Instead of a crispy, well-cooked base, it was overdone to the point that it had a bitter, burnt taste that overpowered everything else.
This was extremely disappointing because the restaurant clearly has potential, but such a fundamental mistake in food preparation shouldn’t be happening. A great pizza isn’t just about toppings—it needs a properly baked crust as well. If the kitchen had been a little more careful, this could have been an excellent meal.
I genuinely hope the management pays attention to this issue and improves their cooking process. With such a great ambiance and good service, they have the potential to be an amazing spot if they work on their food quality. For now, I can’t say I’d return for the pizza unless I hear that they’ve fixed the issue.

Review (5th June 2024):
I was invited to this restaurant for a private family event which was organised by Koel. We had Hi-Tea there, and I must say all the snack items were sooo delicious, especially the daal ka Halwa. I was just in love with the halwa there. The rest of the food was pretty tasty. The staff was polite and was very helpful too. I would definitely recommend this place 👌🏼.
Updated Review (5th July 2024):
I went to Koel again last night after a whole month with one of my friends. We ordered Moroccan Chicken Steak, Grilled Chicken with Terriyaki sauce, and Alfredo chicken pasta. The food was inexpensive and tasty. Our total bill was 5700/= for three main courses meal with drinks.
