I loves that you are able to do a self guided tour and take your time with each exhibit. There were two rooms, however, that seemed like they didn't belong there - the one with children's coloring over the walls was just not really fitting, but I understand why it's there - as an activity for kids to do...and the other with random wedding photos on the walls - my understanding is that they are displaying the wedding that have happened there? I honestly wished that it was opened on Sundays because I wanted to go back to the gift shop and purchased something - as they don't sell any of that stuff online.

The museum is a converted train station right on the river. I asked the staff at the check in desk for their recommendation on the best way to see the museum and any must sees and they basically just shrugged their shoulders and could not have been less interested in my questions. They handed me a map which did not detail what any of the exhibits were aside from the Egypt one, but was literally just a map of the building; not much help at all. I wandered around and enjoyed the exhibits but there didn't really seem to be any rhyme or reason for what was in each room; there was no cohesion. The planetarium offered a show each hour and while I didn't have an opportunity to take a show in, the attendant at the entrance of the planetarium was very informative and enthusiastic! Next time I will definitely partake. Overall, not a bad value for $15, especially if you're looking to kill a little bit of time (like I was 😉).

In the Manship Theater there a handful of bad seats. 99% of the rest are great! With the exception of those extremely few bad seats. She proceeded to make my wife fill out a “sign up sheet/waiting list” on the back of what looked almost like a sticky note I assumed would be laughed at and disregarded by the immediate disrespect we were met with upon saying we had literally just called and stayed there was plenty of vacancy and gave no reason or ground for the hoops we were having to jump through. So we did so and proceeded to sit patiently for about 30-45 minutes politely as we conversed with a fellow league/nationals regular, my wife then went to ask again (seeing as how maybe 20+ of the 64 lanes were visibly vacant at this point and asked politely if we could be placed on one of those and was immediately cut off with “those lanes are already previously reserved” which again we were never offered the chance to even attempt and when my wife said that she was quoted 9:30 was rudely cut off and told AT LEAST! Until 9:30 almost like she was being bothered to help customers. My wife came back visibly upset at which point said female left her work station to the two gentlemen behind the counter to walk to other side and purchase a souvenir pin cup and walk away. Said fellow nationals bowler then approached the counter to talk to the two gentlemen (Who were very polite and helpful) who then put our team on a lane. Shortly after the girl returned and was visibly upset with her fellow employees as she kept looking back at the lane we were placed on, then within 20 minutes 2 large groups were placed on either side of us out of half a league worth of lanes now currently available without any “reserved” lane bowlers to show up on any others at this point was easily the projected “AT LEAST” time we were rudely told we couldn’t have one because of. The bowlers on either side had no lane courtesy and would walk up mid approach while half walking into your lane, which didn’t bother as much, the bothersome part was as previously stated non available lanes remained open other than the two on either side being the only ones to be given to fellow customers. The amount of obscenities and attitude of placed bowlers proceeded to send my wife into a panic attack that once I was able to calm we immediately left after only throwing 2 games out of a 60$ 2 hour session we paid for and I don’t see us returning again anytime soon. Just sad to see such a decent house fall so low due to the way one employee acted and treated practitioners of the sport. I hope she doesn’t always treat customers like that or something should definitely be done about the way she handles simple inquiries and questions in the future…overall not really a bad alley by any means other than the experience of a new house being completely overshadowed and ruined by one employee’s poor attitude and treatment of us more than anything…every other employee was very kind, helpful and accommodating, even the fellow bowlers who lacked lane courtesy were friendly with us and ultimately not the issue for such a sadly poor experience in such a truly peaceful and friendly experience of the city itself.

Finally, we got into the public parking and pay $10 dollar for half day. There is a track on the side of river which is good for quick walk and roam around riverfront. First off I wanna say that the owner and management should be absolutely delighted to hear that the staff they put in place is so phenomenal. They truly make this small (but golden) gem thrive. I think we spent about 2 hours just by the rays talking with the mermaid and her assistant (I really wish I would’ve caught their names). While the rays were very interactive and happy to socialize so were the two staff members! They were so down to earth, knowledgeable on the animals, and they actually mentioned multiple times how much they enjoyed their jobs and working alongside the wildlife found in the blue zoo. I feel like most places these days lack this feel. The blue zoo does not!! The only thing I think could’ve been “negative” (it didn’t bother us much) was that the bird enclosure was under construction and we weren’t made aware of that at the beginning. HOWEVER, I do want to say this had 0 negative effect on our experience. I just feel like this may not land on the best side of other people. I cannot express how phenomenal the staff was. I never write reviews, but this one deserved it. We look forward to becoming annual pass holders very soon after yesterday! My kids enjoyed seeing all the animals and playing in the Mermaid Cove area. We also enjoyed feeding the sting rays. I was however disappointed that we weren't able to access the parakeet area due to renovations, as that was one of the main reasons for us coming to the BlueZoo. We were able to see the parakeets during our last visit and really enjoyed it, so it was something I was really looking forward to for this visit. I also think their token prices to feed the animals are overpriced. It cost $10 for 4 tokens, and all we were given for the 4 tokens were 4 minnow sized fish to feed the sting rays. Last visit, we were given an entire small cup of fish to feed the rays, so I definitely don't think 4 tiny fish are worth $10. Overall though, it was a good time.

The staff were very nice and helpful and direct. Which is good. Thank you for that. The place was very clean and safe for kids. Make sure you have a parent with the kids at all times tho.. if they are not with a parent.. then yeah never know. They have many opportunities for you to feed and touch animals. They encourage you to be gentle and to keep your hands washed. They have a very big play area for kids. Lots of fun and learning awaiting. They have a cute gift shop. You do have to pay to get in.. it is a bit pricey. But it is worth it. If you go in. I would stay for at leave 2 to 3 hours to get your money's worth. We went ith 3 people and it was like 75 bucks almost for 3 adults. So pricey but fun. Kids and students I believe are less. But I 100% recommend. I even had fun. Enjoy the many videos and photos I have shared. Do understand... this is not everything. There is dozens of more exhibits and areas then what is shown.
