The museum itself has plenty of parking and a few exhibits on display. The exhibit I visited for was a short film (6 mins) summarizing the solar eclipse we have coming up in a few weeks. This is probably one of the coolest spots (and crowds) that you can find in the downtown area. If you’re looking for an immersive and crisp way to experience art, you found it. The building’s interior was cleanly and tastefully built. Modern white oak floors showcase the sculptures. The courtyard is spectacular as well. Walk to the back where an exquisite weeping willow and water feature was perfectly placed between sculptures. Best outdoor live music I’ve heard in a long time. So that's just a few of the many fun and interesting things you will see and experience. The cost per person is a reasonable 13.00s it was raining this morning when we visited so that was pretty Cool too. I Highly recommend going and seeing this place it's worth the time and effort.

It’s mostly a standard museum exhibit wise but there are a few things that really make it stand out. First, it has an in depth explanation of some of his more controversial policies such as No Child Left Behind and the Iraq War, as well as highlighting some of his major successes like PEPFAR and protecting over 3M acres of wetlands. Obviously there was a bit of a slant in terms of how things were presented but it was still informative in nature. Second, it has a replica of the Oval Office, you do have to pay for a photo op but I think it’s worth it. There is also a Rose Garden replica outside which is where George and Laura will be buried someday. Third, there is a piece of metal from the Twin Towers on display which you can actually touch. That whole section was emotionally moving, you got to hear him say his famous “and those people who knocked the towers down will hear from all of us very soon” quote while you are looking at the images of what happened that day. And fourth, I think the best part of the museum is the Decision Points theater, which is an interactive game you can play where you choose what to do during several key moments of the Bush administration. You get policy advice from “experts” and see breaking news before making a final decision, and then you get to see Bush explain why he did what he actually did. Since I was the only one in the theater, I got to pick all three scenarios I did, and my decision was the “final one” (normally if more people play it’s whatever the group collectively decides). This building is historic to Plano and was built in 1908! The people working here were so fun and knowledgeable about the site and everything to do with trains. Even though the building is small, it felt like a full on museum experience with all the information and interactive stations they offered. We learned so much! Seeing the items that were used back in the early 1900's really made me feel in awe of how hard working people were back then and didn't even know it! I brought my daughter and 9yo son with me on this visit. I was a little worried that my 9yo would get bored easily and loose interest, but that never happened. We were all fully engaged and found the entire visit educational and entertaining. Upon entering the building, we were warmly greeted by two former Firefighters. We paid the entry fee and signed the visitors book. Mike, also a former Firefighter, was our tour guide. He started the tour in the photo room area where he told us a few quick stories about some of the photos on the walls. He then took us inside where we were able to see and touch lots of artifacts and learn the stories behind them. It was fantastic! The entire tour was only my kids and I, so we felt like we received the VIP/Red Carpet experience. As we moved on to each section, Mike stopped and asked us if we had any questions, which we always did. Mike was very patient with us and extremely knowledgeable about everything we were looking at. The stories he told us were fun and interesting, he was fantastic with my 9yo son. 1/2 way through the tour, Mike took us into the theatre where we watched a cute kid friendly film on fire safety. This film was also a reminder to me of some things I do wrong in my own home such as overloading a power outlet. It also reminded me to sit down with my family to come up with a fire escape plan for our home. I highly recommend the Dallas Firefighters Museum because it’s a great look at our past, as well as a brief look into what FireFighters go through to protect us and keep us safe. I give Mike 5 Stars because he is a great educator and did a great job keeping the tour fun, interesting, hands on, and engaging. The fact that he was able to even keep my 9yo engaged earns him another 5 Stars! We spent a couple hours here with Mike, and I could’ve listened to him all day. Thanks Mike! I highly recommend you check them out. There is something for everyone here. They have some future plans to expand the museum. It’s exciting to see how they will grow. We will be back again in the future.

However, that now seems to be missing. Signs telling you to be careful when visiting the petting zoo hang on rotten posts. Buildings have signs saying they are being repaired that themselves now need repair. It gives ghost town vibes or being on an abandoned movie set. If you have time I think this is still worth a visit if only to show the powers that be that the history is important and should be preserved better than it is now.

My 10 year old had never ridden a trolley before, so we HAD to go! It was such a fun little experience! We were in it for a little under an hour, and it took us all around downtown Dallas.
