There are few interesting exhibits. The castle looks nice from the outside, the grounds are nicely maintaned offering nice views over Nottingham. The price is a little high for the experience. The Robin Hood experience is nice but is more of a playground for kids with interactive stuff, for adults kind of boring. The cave tour was nice but to pay extra for that, above the entrance price can be pricey for some folks compared to the experiance. The staff is nice and hepful. You buy tickets at the entrance or online waiting in the queue is the same to enter. Next to the castle you'll find a mini square with the statue of Robin Hood. The Forest exhibition is let's say ok but doesn't really impress, a natural woodland walk might be better. One visit is enough honestly, doesn't make any sense to visit the castle again especially if you travel from a bigger distance. The car park is £5, I paid for this in the shop, giving them my number plate. The park is very extensive but it was fantastic to see the deer so close. The house is fascinating with all the natural history displays. This was £15 but the ticket lasts a year. The gardens were also very nice and the view down to the lake was beautiful. I had lunch after touring Nottingham Castle, which I would recommend as Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is in a cave under the castle. Like all structures of this era, the ceilings are quite low and the stairs and rooms are quite twisty and full of surprises. The staff was so nice and efficient. I ordered at the bar downstairs and had my meal delivered to a table on the next floor (see video). I’ve taken many trips to the UK, and frequented many establishments with signs claiming the “world’s best fish and chips.”. The fish was amazing and perfectly prepared. The chips were not greasy at all, and very flavorful. The highlight was the fresh peas! Bursting with flavor. I rate the fish and chips second only to the Mayfair Chippy in London, however, the ambiance and experience takes it over the top even if you’re only slopping by for a pint.

From the point of booking I was kept really well informed about timings, how to get there, parking, access etc. It was very helpful being our first time to the venue. I see a show here at least twice a year if I can because they have some great plays and musicals on, including new pieces. It's small enough not to overwhelm you but big enough to house some excellent productions. The bar is brilliant with self-serve tea/coffee machine to save time queueing. And there's a 25p discount for using your own reusable cup! They also have a script library where you can sit and read something or borrow a book, take it away and replace it with another or bring it back when you're done with it. There are also some excellent initiatives like the 50/50 appeal where they have tickets for free available to those who wouldn't be able to afford a ticket otherwise.

This whole place is just a joke now, go to Sheffield instead!

The theatre royal is fabulous for plays and the concert hall for artists. On this occasion I went to see " Queen of the Night " A Whitney Houston tribute . The whole show was fantastic, she looked and sounded like Whitney , the band was top class and all engaged so well with the audience. Loved the show. As for the Concert Hall, great seating and views, fabulous acoustic, friendly helpful staff and very good pricing. My friends meal which he said was one of the best steaks he had ever had, mine unfortunately the 20oz T Bone (£35) was just so below standard that i had to complain. Being late for the theatre I ate the food which was cooked much less than I had requested (medium rare). When the lovely girl who was serving asked how the food was I promised myself I wouldn’t complain but just simply had to as the feedback is important. I told her I ate it due to being late but wasn’t happy how it was cooked and my experience was spoilt so the management offered 20% off which I felt was rather unfair. £7 off a meal that left me with a poor experience was something I’d felt was sub standard so requested 50% and this was accepted. Just as a bit of feedback also, try cutting a steak on your tables the tables wobble everywhere your drinks are all over. I sat on the high table next to the till. If the server wasn’t so great infact the two girls working this it would have been given a 1star but I’ll give it 3 for how helpful the two girls was and how accommodating they was whilst serving. And the fact you did refund 50 percent. I’m sure if I was to come back and order a steak which was easier to cook an 8-10oz steak then I would have loved it but as reading your reviews the two expensive steaks I would suggest to customers to stay away from for a good experience. The location is amazing and an added plus is that there is a statue of Brian Clough opposite. I found it a bit claustrophobic and overhyped. It was a 2 hour drive over and was worth every minute! 4.5 hours, 12 courses and 7 wines. Could not fault a single mouthful. Drinks on the terrace to start was a lovely touch. There were 8 of us ‘in class’ which is run at a large table in the main bar area. It was an absolutely fantastic experience. On entry we were greeted warmly by the outlaw himself and after a nice chat the offspring were given a task each to do and directions to our starting point. Set in an old three storey house and adorned with everything about the legend from artwork to pop culture references we went to the top room which was made into a medieval hovel where we were told a story. We visited several rooms that visit and heard from Friar Tuck, the evil Sheriff and then the outlaws themselves in a room made to look like a forest. I found this place absolutely charming and it was obvious that a lot of care, commitment and enthusiasm has gone into it. Yes, in this day and age of animatronics, VR and massive installations I could see some younger generations not quite understanding the work that went into this quirky diorama. It's just unfortunate that differently abled people won't be able to experience this alternative attraction but you can't blame that on the creators of what is, in my opinion, a great little bit of escapist joy.

I think I may have been a bit of a closet fan of Robin Hood, as it occurred to me that I had seen a lot of the shows / films mentioned on the info boards..! We took the two kids with us and they were both given some challenges to complete as we went through the rooms, with promise of a prize at the end. This kept them partly busy, albeit we needed to read and tell them what they needed to look for, and when they found it they wanted to move straight on.... The rooms are not big, and as other reviews have said, you wouldn't really want to be doing it in large groups as there just isn't the space. I felt it was perhaps priced a little wrong for the small people as it was only free if under 3, perhaps think this should be under 5. I think we was in there for just over an hour, and it was something a bit different. Wife wanted me to make sure that I wrote that it does have facilities (toilets) but perhaps don't expect too much in terms of the quality of the toilets!

Lovely and rather charming little flat course. Really nice and green venue, a general admission ticket lets you view the parade ring and gives access to trackside viewing at the finish line. Also interesting that it seems race goers can get up close with the weighing room too. Definitely worth the visit , I really enjoyed myself here and will be returning soon!

Shortest walk around the reserve is 1.9 miles. It was busy with people at least every 10m and cyclists on the paths but that's to be expected for a Sunday.
