Staff was kind and amazing, room was super clean, common areas were very cozy and friendly. Bar opens every evening with awesome beer, optional breakfast and also a very cool "pay what you can" dinner each night that's made by a fellow guest at the hostel. So many helpful guides and tips for going around town and where to go. Would absolutely recommend this hostel to anybody wanting a friendly and accessible place to stay near Viennas city center.

The atmosphere makes it really special. They cultivate a friendly, social vibe without being a party hostel. Breakfasts, happy hour, dinner, outings, special events….it builds a real sense of community, even if you’re only there for a few days. I will say it’s quite a young crowd (I’m mid 30s, most others seemed young to mid 20s) so I didn’t socialize as much as I otherwise might have, but that didn’t detract from the nice vibe of the place overall. The rooms are fine, though my single room was almost comically small - it’s truly a single for ONE person; I would not recommend trying to fit a couple in there. Last but not least, the location is lovely. It’s on a quiet block, a short walk to multiple public transit lines, and 15-20 mins to everywhere you’d want to be in the city. Overall I definitely recommend it and would stay here again!

四人间照片与实际不符，房间暗、老旧，有不新鲜的味道。我们订的是整个四人间，进去后发现卫生间有用过的浴巾，淋浴间地上有肥皂，朋友因为睡的床不干净，双臂过敏红肿痒，几天才好。

非常干净，住的四人间很宽敞。最后走的时候大堂在放sam fender的歌哈哈，忍不住听了三四首歌才走～great music choice！

位置机非常好，有很多超市在隔壁，房间干净卫生，强烈推荐!

This is a hostel. The rooms were functional but tired and the bathroom could have done with a clean. There's hardly any storage so don't expect to unpack your suitcase much. On a more positive note, it was quiet and i slept well. Staff were OK, not overly friendly and breakfast was topped up quickly. It is about a 10/15 min walk to the nearest station which is not great in the dark and no atmosphere around Meininger either. No nice cafes or bars etc. The road it's on has roadworks going on so noisy in the day and many of the walls are covered in graffiti. When we stayed there were two large student groups staying and at breakfast it was awful. The queues were enormous. I would recommend the hotel renames itself as a hostel so their guests know what to expect. Couldn't wait to leave. Having said that, it is cheap so if you are happy with functional rooms, lots of walking and queuing at breakfast, you'll be fine.

Special thanks to the guy at the night shift at 20/10/2025, who was willing to protect us after a taxi driver who we rejected for taking too long to arrive came outside the hotel. Only negative for us was the area it was located, it doesn’t seem like the most safest of areas, especially around the closest metro stop which isn’t too far away, we got a taxi home on one night due to this. Beim Check-In nahm uns die gelangweilte Dame nach unseren Beschwerden nicht mal ernst! Draußen trafen wir Mädels, deren Zimmer im gleichen Zustand war, also war es offensichtlich keine Ausnahme.

Doch es ging weiter. Das Frühstück entspricht nicht mal dem Niveau einer mittelmäßigen Jugendherberge. Das Vollkornbrot war noch gefroren, der Saft aus dem Automaten ist leicht gefärbtes Wasser, der sogenannte Kaffee war nicht mal hellbraun, er war in der Tasse durchsichtig (und das in Wien). Wenigstens bekamen wir von der Servicekraft richtigen Kaffee (woher auch immer). Am nächsten Tag das gleiche, nur waren diesmal 8:30 nicht mal Kaffeetassen da. Ich ging zur Rezeption. Von dort wurde angerufen. Der Kollege vom Service kam dann irgendwoher geschlendert und begann die Berge von dreckigen Geschirr wegzuräumen. 9:15 waren dann Tassen wieder da. Der Kaffee war wieder keiner.....ekelhaft. An der Rezeption bekamen wir einen Kaffee welcher seinen Namen verdiente. Auch verzichteten wir auf das Frühstück am nächsten Tag und ich bat um Rücküberweisung. Die Zimmer entsprechen den Bildern gefühlt 20 Jahre später. Dämmung oder Lärmschutz ist dort ein Fremdwort. Man hört ALLES aus den Nachbarzimmern. Der Spalt der Tür ist so groß, dass unser Zimmer nachts "schön" hell war. Ein Handtuch schaffte Abhilfe. Jeden Morgen stank es im Flur extrem nach Rauch. Das Fenster war von INNEN so speckig versifft.... Einzig der Parkplatz im Hof ist positiv zu bewerten (hat allerdings auch über 50 Euro gekostet). Wir können nur von der Buchung in diesem Hostel abraten. Wir werden nach Jahren in AuO Hostels diese nicht mehr buchen.

Und dann die nette Überraschung um 6 Uhr morgens machte sich eine Bedienstete an die Arbeit den Innenhof zu kehren und rückte Tische und Stühle unsanft durch die Gegend, Fazit drei Stunden Schlaf in einem winzigen Zimmer, nicht wirklich sauber mit einem mehr als kleinem Bad. Klo, Waschbecken und die Dusche öffnet sich ca. 50 cm. Und dann noch das Frühstück als Draufgabe. Ein Teller mit einem Löffel Eierspeise, zwei Räder Extrawurst, zwei Scheiben Schinken, zwei Scheiben Käse und etwas Gemüse, egal ob ich das will oder nicht. Das Brot hat auch schon mindestens zwei Nächte in dem Hotel verbracht und dann gab es noch eine nette Auswahl an Fertigprodukten, Kuchen, Milchbrötchen, Schokocreme, Erdnussbutter usw. und ungenießbaren Kaffee. Diese Eindrücke direkt im Hotel zu deponieren hätte wenig Sinn gehabt, da der Rezeptionist nicht mal die Hälfte davon verstanden hätte.
