Schönbrunn Palace is an 18th-century summer residence that offers tours of its opulent rococo ceremonial rooms and lavish gardens with a maze. The palace boasts beautiful Baroque and Neo-Classical architecture, reflecting Vienna's rich history as the town of Habsburgs and Maria Theresa. It is Vienna's most visited attraction, featuring 45 luxurious state rooms, ceremonial halls, and private apartments once inhabited by Empress Elisabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph.
Gorgeous place to visit- bring a coat if going in the winter or fall as it can get chilly. Recommend buying tickets ahead of time and just walk to the front of the palace to enter- audio guides can be procured upon entry. If you have kids- there is also a small zoo, and a playground in the garden maze area.

We had a wonderful day exploring Schönbrunn Palace and its beautiful gardens! The place is enormous, so expect to spend almost the entire day walking around, discovering its stunning architecture, elegant interiors, and rich history. There are plenty of benches outside where you can rest, have a picnic, or simply people-watch. The gardens are incredibly lovely and very well-maintained, and the entire area is so organized that you’ll enjoy exploring no matter which part you visit. There’s also a children’s museum, zoo, mazes, cafés, restaurants, and more! We especially enjoyed the short hike up to the Gloriette for a breathtaking view of the palace grounds. A definite must-see when in Vienna!
BA — Google review
It was my first visit to Schönbrunn Palace in 47 years, and its magnificent scenery was as wonderful as ever as a symbol of the Habsburg dynasty. The lavish decorations inside the palace and the splendor of the gardens are as magnificent as ever, demonstrating the majesty of a World Heritage Site that is worth revisiting. Walking around the vast gardens, I was reminded of its grandeur and splendor. The splendid decorations and paintings inside the palace are also worth seeing.
Taka N — Google review
You need to explore all the places so a classic plus ticket is recommended for 75 euros, this will cover all the gardens, zoo, terrace, and the palace. This will be a long trip and you need to rest between them so I'd recommend to start your trip at 10 a.m. to finish it at 5 p.m. I strongly recommend to buy your tickets online becuase there was a very long line. I will leave you with the images to rate the experience 😊
Younus J — Google review
Must visit experience with good audio guide cost included in the ticket. The beautiful gardens beside the palace add to the charm of it and the grandeur of the palace is amazing. We had a great time at the Christmas market setup right outside the palace in early November.
Sunny K — Google review
This spot is heaven on earth. I was excited to catch the early Christmas market in the palace gardens, so many great food stalls and adorable Christmas goodies shops! The evening ambiance with all the lights was simply stunning. A truly enchanting and memorable experience.
Harsha J — Google review
We attended the Christmas market and it was just breathtaking. Countless lights, 95 lovingly decorated stalls, and a wide variety of traditional handicrafts, regional cuisine, and special experiences for the whole family create a unique festive atmosphere during the Christmas season. We loved the food and mulled wine and enjoyed watching the band play!
Alex C — Google review
The Palace is absolutely stunning! The architecture is magnificent, and the gardens surrounding the palace are beautifully designed and very spacious. Walking through the grounds, you can enjoy fountains, sculptures, and perfectly maintained flower beds. The area around the palace is full of charm and offers great spots for photos. Visiting Schönbrunn Palace is a truly unforgettable experience and a must-see when in Vienna.

Park
Schönbrunn Zoo, located in the garden of the Schönbrunn Palace, is a historic 18th-century zoo that offers a diverse collection of over 500 animal species. The zoo is known for its child-friendly programs and activities, including free children's tours on Sundays and special Christmas workshops and activities during the holiday season. As the oldest zoo in Europe, it boasts a rich history dating back to Empress Maria Theresa's nature-loving husband, Francis Stephen.
The Schönbrunn Zoo is one of the best zoos I’ve ever visited! It’s very well organized, clean, and easy to walk around. There’s a huge variety of animals, from giant pandas and polar bears to elephants and tigers. The enclosures are spacious and well maintained, and you can see that the animals are cared for. What makes it special is the atmosphere – it’s part of the Schönbrunn Palace grounds, so walking through the zoo feels like a mix of nature, history, and culture. There are plenty of places to rest, grab a snack, or enjoy a coffee while taking a break. Definitely a must-visit in Vienna – plan to spend at least half a day here to enjoy it fully!
Martin K — Google review
One of the most impressive zoos I have ever seen in my life. The size of the zoo is amazing, and it feels very spacious and well-organized. The animals are well taken care of, and their habitats are thoughtfully designed to resemble their natural environments. Walking through the zoo, you can see a huge variety of species, from pandas and elephants to exotic birds and marine animals. It’s both educational and entertaining, with plenty of spots to relax, cafes, and play areas for kids. Truly a must-visit place for families and animal lovers alike .

The Vienna Zoo (Tiergarten Schönbrunn) is one of the most beautiful and well-maintained zoos I’ve ever visited. Located inside the stunning Schönbrunn Palace gardens, it feels like a mix of history and nature all in one place. The animal enclosures are spacious and clean, and the zoo is home to an incredible variety—from pandas and elephants to polar bears and exotic birds. 🐼🐘🦜 There are plenty of shaded areas, cafés, and places to rest, making it perfect for families or a relaxed day out. The educational signs are informative, and you can really tell that the animals are well cared for. Don’t miss the rainforest house and the aquarium area!
Rejan M — Google review
A wonderful place to spend a day with family, friends, or on your own. There are many species of animals, all well cared for. The enclosures are stunning, allowing the animals to roam freely. Several animals have given birth, indicating their well-being in captivity. Adults will find plenty of food kiosks, cafes, and restaurants, while children will have a blast on the numerous playgrounds.
Oleksandr L — Google review
THE BEST ZOO I HAVE EVER BEEN IN!!! There are a lot of types of animals, insects and reptiles. We spent 4 or 5 hours in it to go around the place because it’s huge. The animals have natural habitats and they look happy and healthy. We even saw the feeding of the sea lions and it was a whole show. There are a lot of playgrounds for the children, toilets and food places. It’s clean and obviously maintained. The tickets were 32 euro but i can say that’s totally worth the money!! If you are in Vienna I highly recommend going to the zoo.
Emilia K — Google review
Amazing! We loved it. I grew to hate zoos because animals are never well kept and just exploited. This is completely different! First, the variety of animals is incredible. Second, they are really well kept and treated. The enclosures are engineered for the species needs in mind. Beautiful, great ambience, definitely worth the price of the entrance. I would go again.
Chris S — Google review
Wonderful visit on the “rundweg” in this Zoo, where animals are extremely well housed, look relaxed and almost like they enjoy themselves! I have never seen a more beautiful tiger, he/she was feeding on a huge chunk of meat, it was like Jungle Book come to life! There’s playgrounds for kids, there’s small eateries, there’s lots of “close up’s” occasions with the animals, that roam freely in their habitat arrangements, very natural and informative at the same time. I think it is one of the best zoo experiences I have come across, well worth a visit!
Tania M — Google review
Inside the zoo there is also an old log cabin, serving as a rustic restaurant, with homemade cakes (including apple strudel), espresso, homemade sandwiches with ham, cheese, various jams, drinks, etc. It's from a fairy tale movie... . And inside it smells like sheep products (cheese, butter, jam). Very original and authentic. And you can pay by card. And in the zoo the cold-water penguins are the most cheerful and playful.

MuseumsQuartier Wien, also known as MQ, is a captivating blend of historic and contemporary architecture housing some of the city's most impressive museums. The complex, once the Imperial Court Stables designed by Fischer von Erlach, now showcases thousands of 20th and 21st-century masterpieces.
I was there briefly, just to walk around that plaza. I felt that the place has so much history and tradition that I need to visit it again and spend more time going to all the museums.

Definitely a must to see in Vienna. Wonderful architecture, very rich in culture and art. Lots to do and to see there. You may need more than a full day to visit all museums and exhibitions.

There was an impressive atmosphere here. During our 3 day visit , we came twice at the quarter. We visited National History Museum. Such a great place. A musician was playing and a couple were dancing tango. We were amazednby them.

Austrian restaurant
Restaurant
Glacis Beisl is a modern Austrian bistro located in Vienna's MuseumsQuartier, offering classic and innovative Viennese cuisine. The restaurant features an intimate atmosphere with a plant-filled garden, providing a stylish and sun-drenched outdoor space shaded by walnut trees.
Where to begin? We made a reservation the day before for a Saturday night and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was 10/10, as was the friendly service, and that’s before we even received any food. I had the schnitzel with potato salad which was excellent and flavoursome and my mate had the veal, which was lovely and smoky with a delicious Brussels sprout and bacon side. I followed it up with the apricot pancakes, though I could probably have done with one and shared the other. The beer was excellent and the meal was good value all in all (€50pp inc drinks, 2 courses and a tip). An experience I’d highly recommend for your visit to Vienna.
Michael S — Google review
This place has a fantastic setup, with plenty of seating both inside and out. But the real star is the outside area; it's super cute and green, absolutely perfect for enjoying a meal when the weather's good. The staff here are also a plus; they're friendly and genuinely welcoming. The food was good overall. I've had slightly better elsewhere, but it definitely hit the spot. It's the kind of place I'd happily bring family visiting from out of town. The combination of the great ambiance, friendly service, and solid food makes it an easy recommendation for a pleasant dining experience.
Noa M — Google review
Food was quite good. The jam was very good, and the schnitzel wasnt dry or oily. Trout had a lot of dill, but i like dill. The beetroot salad was good, but not worth the price. The most suprising thing was the really nice interior ambiance when i was expecting more of a beer garden feel.
Stephen L — Google review
Absolutely fantastic meal! Beautiful garden, friendly service. Everyone from ages 12-82 loved it! Leave room for the Hungarian dessert dumplings and try the quince schnapps!
Meg Q — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous dining experience either as a solo dinner or with a large group. I had the Potato and Leek soup for an entree, which was wonderful and creamy, and very well complimented by the mushrooms (which you may ask to be removed if needed). For my main, I had a Viennese style of Goulash, which is a lot meatier and spicier than the Hungarian style (which is a soup). It was lovely, the servings are large to make up for the price. And absolutely beautiful terrace area, although quite busy, would reccomend reserving a table or two.
Joseph C — Google review
A lovely experience for some real Vienna food. High recommend the original schnitzel. It was so delightful with the accompanying sauce. Great service was quality recommendations as well.
Daniel T — Google review
A hidden gem! The place looks great — modern, stylish, but still cozy and welcoming. The vibe was amazing, relaxed yet full of life. The waiter joked around with us and made it all feel natural and fun. The food was really good, the drinks even better. We sat at the high table and ended up talking with people we’d never met before — one of those nights that just feels right. Loved it.
Dror L — Google review
Our favourite dinner in Vienna. Julia, our server, was fantastic. We started with the bacon wrapped goat cheese, 10/10. The boiled beef and goulash were incredible as our mains, but the potato pancakes were the absolute highlight. We finished with Hungarian dumplings that were delicious. Definitely recommend.

Restaurant
Brasserie Palmenhaus Wien is a stunning former tropical house located in the Burggarten, offering upscale dining and drinking options. Originally built as a summer greenhouse for the Emperor in the 19th century, it now houses an impressive array of exotic plants. The restaurant serves traditional cuisine and brunch-style dishes, including sandwiches, cereals, fruits, and a special Austrian breakfast.
This was my first taste of Austrian food and also the one that stuck with me the most. I tried many more Austrian restaurants during my trip and I always found myself comparing those places to this one. The atmosphere and the outdoor seating really contributed to the vibes of this place, not to mention the food was easily some of my favorite I had on my trip.
Wong X — Google review
Had breakfast at Palmenhaus Vienna and honestly, what a vibe! The place is absolutely stunning – a glasshouse full of greenery right in the middle of Burggarten, with sunlight streaming in and a view that makes you feel like you’re in a mini botanical paradise. Breakfast was tasty, fresh, and beautifully served, but I have to say the portion felt a bit small for the price. Still, the unique atmosphere, the elegant yet relaxed vibe, and the whole experience totally make it worth it. Perfect spot for a cozy morning, weekend brunch, or just coffee in a dreamy setting. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Vienna
A Z — Google review
The main selling point of this location is definitely it's atmosphere. It's stunning and is lovely and light. I enjoyed the wine, coffee and dessert I had, and would recommend the apple strudel which was lovely, flaky and sweet. However, I found my main course of the gnocci a little lacking for the price point. It didn't impress me with the flavours particularly and it was very basic, but some may enjoy that , not sure if the meat options are better. I would recommend instead coming for a dessert and coffee or aperitif, and enjoying the ambience of the place. Good for a mid afternoon break, after exploring the surrounding area
Cerys B — Google review
Scrumptious food, cooked to perfection, with elegant, tasteful touches and surrounded by palms in a greenhouse. The fried salmon skin on the salmon was a lovely touch; the broccoli in the mashed potatoes were a fresh green yet tender. The chocolate soufflé was to die for. And we had a waiter with a dry and quirky sense of humour. Overall an excellent meal
Elaine C — Google review
This is such a nice place to have breakfast or a coffee. We were on our way to the museum, so we decided to stop here first, and I have to say, the service is great. I loved how warm and cozy it feels inside, with so much natural light. The atmosphere is perfect. The food was incredible. We had a strudel and some eggs with bacon, and everything was amazing. Living in Dubai, we don’t usually get bacon, so I ate as much bacon as possible while I was in Vienna, and it did not disappoint. This was my first breakfast in Vienna, and it was a great one. I highly recommend having breakfast here if you’re in the area. If you’re planning to visit the museum, stop by for a coffee, a pastry, a full meal, or even just a tea. It’s such a lovely place to sit, unwind, and enjoy the view.

Great place to have meal and drinks. Waiter (bald guy with cashier id rk02 on 15 September 2025 at 1434 as per receipts - sorry didn’t get your name and give tips but management please thanks him for us)was fantastic. Great atmosphere too. Highly recommended. Please tips all the waiters/waitresses if you are happy with their service, sorry we didn’t cause we just arrived in Vienna and didn’t know the tipping culture here. Highly recommended.
LeoR 1 — Google review
The food was nice, but the place was a bit overcrowded, so service was a bit slow and there was a huge queue for the lady's toilet. It is a great location and they make the most of it, by having small tables very close together. Still food is good and I liked the apfelstrudel with lots of apple, cinnamon and a thin pastry.
Ana C — Google review
In places like this will be better to have a reservation, otherwise the chances to find table are slim. The strudel with vanilla sauce is delicious, also the hot chocolate with rum specially on a chilly November night. Service was quick, the prices are high in Vienna.

Pizza restaurant
Pizzeria Mafiosi is a relaxed and down-home Italian restaurant with a terrace. It offers typical Italian cuisine at very affordable prices, and the topping selection is impressive. The restaurant is popular with students in Vienna, and the pizza and lasagna are highly recommended.
Fantastic pizza, relaxed atmosphere. A place to come if you want great wine (one variety) and excellent pizza! You can only pay with cash.
Vanja K — Google review
Very unusual place and very cheap but for a reason. There was no greeting on entering just wordless gesture to an empty table. Menu offers beer on tap but in reality only one style of bottled beer is available (should have noticed there are no taps at the bar anyway!). I had spaghetti carbonara and asked for some cheese topping but was told they had no cheese/parmesan. Confused how they managed to make a carbonara without… was watery/salty double cream. My partner had a pizza which somehow didn’t taste of anything at all. Cash only but had no change? If you just want calories for cheap then go for it otherwise I’d avoid.
Kimberley N — Google review
The lokal is small and beautiful, the staff are very friendly and the price of the pizza was really unbelievable.
Sabooreh Z — Google review
Known for being the cheapest, not the best. A Margherita is only €6.40, which is great after a night out or if you’re short on cash 💰. Taste-wise, though, it’s more garlic bread with cheese than true Neapolitan pizza. Good for the price, but there are much better pizzas in the city.
Marcelondree — Google review
Super cheap and fulfilling!! I think the pizza we ordered tasted just alright it wasn’t bad at all and the tortellini was also good!! I liked the Austrian beer and it was also very cheap I ended up taking one home lol!! But must go if you don’t want to spend much on food and want to drink as well!!

Timo K — Google review
My friend and I were looking for a cheap place to eat and this seemed like he perfect place. Everything on the menu is a fantastic price and we were surprised at how large the portion sizes were too! Two people could share one pizza. Not only that, but the food was delicious and the aesthetic and music in the restaurant was pleasant. I'd recommend up anyone willing to travel a bit from the city center.
Ray K — Google review
Absolutely delicious pizza for a price that takes you back to the times before inflation hit 😍 Gigantic pizza that was bigger than the already big plate itself, a cozy and rustic atmosphere, what more could you want? I spent a total of 11,30€ there including a 0.5L Himbeersoda! The staff was attentive and kind, there was little to no wait time, and there was nice music playing the whole time! Where else can you get such a good deal? Its definitely a local treasure, nestled between a tiny street that looks straight out of a movie scene, so if you find yourself stumbling around the 15th district and hungry for some good food, you know where to go!

Prater is a historic public park in Vienna that has been open to the public since 1766. It features a long promenade, traditional amusement park rides, a planetarium, and a museum showcasing its rich history. The park also houses children's rides from the '20s and '30s that survived a fire in 1945. One of its most iconic attractions is the Prater Ferris Wheel, offering an unforgettable view of Vienna from above.
A Perfect Blend of Nature and Fun – A Park for Everyone! This park truly offers the best of both worlds. On one side, you’ll find a peaceful and charming green area with a pond full of ducks, perfect for a relaxing walk, biking, or even a picnic under the trees. It's an ideal spot to unwind, enjoy nature, or just let the kids run free while you sit back and take in the serene atmosphere. On the other side of the park is a huge amusement area that’s packed with games and attractions for all ages. From thrilling rides to fun games for kids, there's something here for everyone. We tried the giant Ferris wheel, which gave us amazing views — definitely a highlight! The ride cost €6 per person, and it was well worth it. Keep in mind that while entry to the general park is free, each amusement game or ride has its own separate fee. There’s also a fantastic section within the park filled with restaurants! you can visit day or night. It’s a great area to relax after a walk or a fun ride, and it's equally enjoyable for both adults and kids. All in all, this park is a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a calm afternoon in nature or an exciting day of fun, it has it all in one place!

I went there with my friends during our trip in Vienna and frankly there are a lot pf options of rides you can take. If you are adventurous and you like different types of rides this is the place. They even had go kart and pony rides for children and restaurants with food.

The rides are great, and thwre are lots of them! I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the prices. Each ride is at least 6€ per person, and you cant buy group tickets. For a family of 4 that wants to enjoy a full day of theme park adventure - it is a sizable expense
Leah G — Google review
Loved this park, free to enter and you pay per ride, went like 3pm and not all rides were open but around 5pm most of them were open. Booster king, Black Mamba, Wiener looping & Volare were apur favorite rides

The amusement park was really fun! There were many different rides and attractions — I wanted to try them all. There are also food stalls and cafés, which make it easy to spend a few hours there comfortably. I visited after 8 PM and didn’t have to wait in line for any of the rides. The atmosphere was lively, colorful, and full of energy. A great place to enjoy with family or friends.

The Strauss Dinner Show was very enjoyable. The theatre is named the Mirage at the Prater. The conductor engaged with the audience and seemed very friendly. The singer and dancers performed wonderfully. The food was tasty and filling. The table service was superb. The waiters were prompt, efficient and the service was very well organized. This venue is located at the Prater so there are amusement rides, restaurants and vendors all available on site. Great location. I would definitely visit the Mirage again!

The Viennese Giant Ferris Wheel, also known as Riesenrad, is a famous attraction located in the Wiener Prater. Originally opened to the public in 1766 by Habsburg Joseph II, this former royal hunting ground quickly became a popular entertainment hub for locals. The Ferris wheel was built in 1897 and rises to 65m, offering visitors stunning views of the city during its 20-minute rotation.
The Great Wheel From Vienna, a wonderful symbol of this city. It's definitely a must for those coming here. The views are stunning and the tickets are worth it. This is the best thing from Prater! 🙌 I definitely recommend it! ✅️🌟👍🏻

Very immersive and fun experience, if you buy card online you have fast access. You can also buy ViennaPass and also go through fast line. Sometimes you need to wait at the entrance, and the reason for that is that only around 10-12 people can enter at one time in one of the rooms on the wheel. It's not the highest experience you can have at the Prater, but it's very nice and calm ride. It lasts around 15-20 minutes. Only thing is bad that you can't sit inside, and you have to stand up the whole ride which can be challenging if you were walking and visiting the city on the same day. There is also a shop at the bottom where you can buy souvenirs.

We visited the Viennese Giant Ferris Wheel on our last night in Vienna, and it was an absolute treat. It’s about a 20-minute Uber ride from the city centre, but completely worth it, especially if you time it for sunset. Despite rush-hour traffic, we arrived just in time and it made the evening feel special. The check-in process was smooth, the cabins are comfortable and well-maintained, and the views over Vienna are simply breathtaking. The whole experience takes around 30 minutes, giving plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and atmosphere. We booked our tickets in advance, though it’s not strictly necessary unless you’re visiting on a weekend or during peak hours. A wonderful way to end a stay in this beautiful city.

Super slow. Not much of a view. Just worth going as it’s the oldest. They really don’t invest to make it a fun memorable experience. Many cable cars are blocked for dinner service , but no one knows how to book this dinner service and the price. But in advance no line tickets.

Iconic place in Vienna. Must have if you plan to spend more than a day in the city! It has some dioramas in the waiting room, worth checking that and spending some time looking at them.

The ferris wheel may seem appealing from far, but the wait time is too long. Also, the wheel moves wayyyy too slowly and there’s absolutely no thrill. Not recommended

Very bright and loud, brilliant rides - great fun for all. Easy to get to, lots of places to eat/drink or relax and stroll around, maybe visit Madame Tussards or a magic show or even a burlesque show - something for everyone.

There is a good story behind this ferris wheel which you can see before entering your cabin, very beautiful view in top view with one of the oldest cabins and its classic design.

Hundertwasser House, also known as Hundertwasserhaus, is a unique and vibrant apartment block located in Vienna. Designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, the building features a colorful exterior with plants adorning balconies and even a forested roof. Completed in 1985, it stands out as an unconventional residential structure that has become one of the most photographed buildings in Vienna.
Interesting place. Amazing architecture. I liked the place a lot - colourful walls and parts of building, trees inside the house growing out. So cool. Also I recommend to visit museum 300m from that building.
Kamila T — Google review
Had an exotic and very impressive experience there. Inside, there are some souvenir shops, drink bars, and paid restrooms. Outside, you can take a lot of memorable pictures with pretty architecture. Note that this place will be quickly crowded if you arrive late, even though it doesn't seem to be noon or too late.
Garam L — Google review
That is a lovely place to visit. You can get there by tram number 1. Just be aware that it’s only one building, but it stands out so much from the surrounding architecture. Even though the colors aren’t as bright as they appear on postcards, it was still very nice to see.

Hundertwasser House in Vienna is a colorful, irregular building designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. It rejects straight lines and embraces nature, with uneven floors, vibrant tiles, and trees growing from balconies. The house symbolizes harmony between humans, art, and the environment, making it one of Austria’s most unique landmarks. But I think this kind of building is rarely seen in Austria, so it is famous.
SOFIA C — Google review
A very beautiful building to visit not too far away from the city centre with amazing architecture. A really particular building with colorful walls, trees inside the house growing out and most of all a photogenic spot for so many tourists visiting the beautiful city of Vienna. Surrounding the building one can find souvenir shops and a delicious cafe serving traditional Austrian cakes. A must visit!

A cute little village in Vienna. Well-preserved architecture. Easy to find, and accessible via the trains, walkable surroundings too. There is an interesting shop inside although it gets crowded and noisy. Better to visit early and on the weekdays. There are a lot of cafes nearby.

A great looking different kind of a building. A treat for eyes with a lot of interesting elements. It is hard to understand the whole concept because a visitor can not see the inside solutions that create the value for people living here.

Very interesting to see it in reality. Amazing creativity and I wonder what the flats are inside, how it is to live in one of them ... It might use a bit of painting on the front though.

Church
St. Stephen's Cathedral is a medieval Roman Catholic place of worship in Vienna, Austria. It features an ornate spire, catacombs, and a treasury museum. Visitors can explore the cathedral to admire world-renowned works of art and church utensils for a fee. The catacombs house the remains of Austrian emperors and are accessible only to guided tour groups for an additional cost.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We visited St. Stephen’s Cathedral over the weekend, and it was such a beautiful experience. The architecture is stunning — Austria really knows how to blend modern and classic styles. You can feel the history, yet everything around feels fresh and vibrant. The cathedral is surrounded by modern buildings and high-end shops, creating a unique mix of culture and lifestyle. One thing I really appreciated is that entry to the cathedral is free, which is rare in Europe. You only pay if you want to go up to the tower for the panoramic city view — and the price is quite reasonable. Children under 10 enter for free, and kids under 18 get a 50% discount. Overall, everything in Austria feels very clean, safe, and well-organized. We really enjoyed our time here and definitely recommend visiting St. Stephen’s Cathedral if you’re in the city center.
Theavy — Google review
St. Stephen’s Cathedral rises like a medieval stone heartbeat in the very center of Vienna. Its Gothic spire, ribbed vaults, and stained-glass windows aren’t just architectural flourishes; they are the city’s compass and heartbeat. Every street in Vienna seems to spiral outward from here, as if the entire city were built around prayer. Inside, the air feels thick with centuries of pious devotion. The flicker of candles against cold stone, the scent of wax and incense, the hush of travelers and locals alike; it all combines into a kind of living liturgy. The cathedral isn’t just a monument to faith; it’s a place where belief, art, and history intertwine. Every carving and arch seems to whisper the same message: beauty is one of the purest ways to praise God. On Saturday evenings, when the bells call the faithful for the 7:00 PM English Mass, a golden light fills the nave as the sun sets behind the stained glass. Tourists pause, locals kneel, and the choir’s echo mingles with the organ’s thunder. It’s a deeply human moment, both intimate and grand — a reminder that Vienna’s soul is not found only in its cafés and concert halls, but here, in this cathedral that has watched over the city for nearly 900 years. A must-visit not just to see, but to feel. St. Stephen’s doesn’t merely stand at the center of Vienna. It is Vienna’s heart.❤️ Christmas celebration in full swing outside of the cathedral.

I visited St. Stephen's Cathedral from the outside, and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The architecture of the cathedral is impressive, and the streets and squares nearby are full of charm, cafes, and shops. It’s a perfect spot for sightseeing and taking photos. I really enjoyed walking around and soaking in the lively atmosphere of the area .
Saeed B — Google review
This cathedral is absolutely stunning. The architecture, both inside and out, is breathtaking. Right beside it, an early Christmas market was happening with adorable stalls. The interior is a true work of art. At night, it transformed into what looked like a massive haunted castle, haha!
Harsha J — Google review
Very nice cathedral, but you can’t walk inside it. Also be careful if you plant to visit light show. , we wanted to visit it in Votive church, but thought it’s the same church and understood the mistake too late.
Татьяна А — Google review
The cathedral is a magnificent piece of architecture and a sight to behold. My strong personal critique, however, is the commercialization of the space. Requiring payment for entry into the main sections creates a barrier that I feel is fundamentally opposed to Christian teachings. A church should be a place where anyone, regardless of their financial means, can enter to pray and connect with God.
Deepu J — Google review
I have to say that I was really excited to visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral. I had seen it in pictures, on Instagram, everywhere, and seeing it in person was such a beautiful, emotional moment. The cathedral is stunning from the inside out. We bought our tickets the same day; you cannot buy tickets online, so you need to go directly to the ticket area. If you want to go to the top of the cathedral, there are two options: • South Tower – You must climb around 300 steps. It’s very high and can be exhausting. • North Tower – This is the one we chose. It actually has a better view, including a 360° view, and you can take the elevator, which is definitely nicer. We also visited the dungeons, and that was fascinating. You see cadavers that have been there since the 1500s (or around that time). They give you a guided tour that explains how people were buried and the history of the underground cemetery. It’s very interesting, I won’t spoil too much, but I definitely recommend it. We didn’t do the full church tour because when we arrived, they were having Mass, and we didn’t want to wait. Plus, after going up the tower in the cold, we were already a bit tired. So just be prepared, going to the top can be draining, especially if you’re an introvert. We’re both introverts, and we were completely drained afterwards. But honestly, the cathedral itself is breathtaking. It’s hard to believe something so massive and detailed was built so long ago. I really can’t even explain how incredible it is, you just have to see it for yourself. One thing I liked is that everything is done on the same day, and you don’t have to worry about online bookings. You can explore one part of the cathedral and come back another day to do the rest, if you want. We didn’t, but it’s an option. We bought two tickets: • one for the underground cemetery tour • one for the North Tower (highly recommend this one!) I also recommend doing the official church tour because it gives you the full history, when it was built, who built it, and all the important details. I kind of regret not doing that. Overall, I highly recommend visiting St. Stephen’s Cathedral. I don’t have many pictures because I really wanted to take everything in with my own eyes and enjoy the moment. If you go, do the same,or have someone else take photos for you, because the experience goes by too fast. And you don’t want to miss it by staring at your phone.

St. Stephen’s Cathedral is a stunning Gothic masterpiece and a must-see in Vienna. I booked my ticket through GetYourGuide, which was convenient and easy. You need to claim the actual ticket at the Dom Museum Wien next to the cathedral before entry, so it’s best to go a few minutes early. The cathedral’s interior, towers, and views are breathtaking — rich in history and atmosphere. Worth the visit!

City park
City Park, also known as Stadtpark, is a picturesque 19th-century public park in Vienna. It was built between 1860 and 1862 as part of an ambitious building program. The park features artificial lakes, playgrounds, and open vistas surrounding the Vienna River. It is adorned with statues of famous painters and composers, including a gilded bronze memorial to Johann Strauss (Son). With its English landscape garden style, the sprawling park remains the largest in the city.
I stayed for an hour in this park, enjoying the beautiful weather and relaxing in nature. It was so refreshing to see groups of people gathered together, talking and spending quality time away from social media — just enjoying life. It’s a really nice and peaceful place, perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with the moment.

Lovely park full of life and love. A lot of people come and just tan, many play games, some have picnics or play with their kids, or read. The park is really being looked after, with care and love. It’s just so nice to sit between the trees, being sun kissed, watch life happening around in this wonderful settings and architecture around. Also there is a gorgeous flower kiosk with colorful flowers of many types attached to the park. I also came for a picnic win myself and one of the most yummiest pastries from Offrl bakery 😋

A charming and peaceful oasis in the heart of Vienna. The park is beautifully landscaped with walking paths, lush greenery, and colorful flower beds. It’s perfect for a relaxing stroll or enjoying some quiet time away from the city’s hustle. I especially loved the famous Johann Strauss monument and the small ponds with ducks. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the surroundings, making it ideal for families, couples, or solo visitors. A must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates nature and the beauty of Vienna.

Stadtpark is a perfect blend of nature, art, and Viennese elegance. We loved walking along the tree lined paths and relaxing by the pond. Highly recommend for a quiet break or a scenic walk!

I visited Stadtpark right after attending Friday prayers at the nearby Turkish mosque, and the experience was truly peaceful. Despite its central location, the park was remarkably quiet, offering a welcome sense of calm and solitude. It’s a beautiful green space—perfect for unwinding and reflection after a busy week. The Vienna State Opera House, also known as Wiener Staatsoper, is a world-renowned opera house that has been hosting major productions and guided tours. It is one of the largest and most magnificent theaters globally, with a rich history dating back to 1625. The current grand Opera House was constructed in 1869 and features a French Early Renaissance style.
if you're a fan of music, or even just beautiful buildings, the tour of the vienna state opera is a must-do. i wasn't sure what to expect, but it was really fascinating. it's a guided tour, so you go with a group and a guide tells you all the stories. they take you through the grand staircases and these incredibly ornate rooms like the tea salon and the marble hall. everything is so elegant and detailed, and it's wild to think that parts of the building had to be rebuilt after being bombed in world war ii. you see the original parts and the restored parts side by side, and it's a cool mix of history. the highlight for me was seeing the auditorium and the stage from different angles. you get to stand in the royal box and look out, and it makes you feel like you're royalty for a second. the tour is about 40 minutes long, and you get so many interesting facts and stories. they tell you about the famous composers and conductors who worked there. it's a really great way to appreciate the opera house even if you don't have time to see a full performance. it's a good idea to check the schedule online and book your tour in advance because they're really popular

It was our first opera. It was amazing. The story was interesting and very easy to follow the subtitles on the little screen in front of each seat. The cast and Orchestra were extremely talented. The opera house is magnificently beautiful. It's well worth a visit.

First time in this quintessential building, went to see Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte on a Thursday night. The building design is such that, even high up on “oxygen level”, one has a great view of the stage and singers. However, the design also takes the breath away from those afraid of heights:) Individual tablets at the seats give you subtitles. They do make you check in your coats and the bar lines at intermission can get very long, so plan accordingly. Also, prices are high, not unexpectedly. Unique building and design though, quality performances, not to be missed.

The Vienna State Opera House is one of the most stunning buildings I have ever seen. I only had the chance to admire it from the outside, but its beauty is absolutely breathtaking. The grand façade, elegant arches, and detailed sculptures reflect Vienna’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. Even without going inside, you can feel the history and importance of this place, where some of the world’s greatest operas have been performed. The building shines beautifully, especially at night when it’s illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere. I hope to return one day to experience a performance inside this magnificent opera house.
Salvatore P — Google review
Very disappointing experience at the Vienna Opera House First of all, I was scammed by ticket sellers outside the building. They were wearing official-looking vests with lanyards, so I thought they were staff. I was in a rush and bought a ticket from them for €50, only to find out later that the actual price of my corner seat was only €15. The seat had a terrible view and I could barely see anything. But the performance was still good. The experience inside was just as bad. During the second intermission, I missed the re-entry and was denied entry until the session ended, which meant I had to stand outside for 1.5 hours. There were no announcements or signs in English to inform foreigners that the bell ringing meant “5 minutes until doors close.” About eight of us were left stuck outside even though we had paid for our tickets. When I spoke to the management, they casually mentioned that this was not the first time it happened but offered no solution. Their excuse was that “the bell is an old tradition and everyone should know.” Sorry, but I’m a foreigner, and it’s 2025 — clear communication should be basic hospitality. As for the scammers outside, the management said that the area outside isn’t their property, so they’re “not responsible,” even though these sellers are using “Opera House” tickets to overcharge tourists. This felt extremely unprofessional. Overall, this was a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I expected much better from such a famous cultural institution.
Hanli B — Google review
It was truly a dream come true to experience an opera. I adore European culture and its rich history. The venue felt utterly magical, and being there made me feel incredibly special.
Harsha J — Google review
If you’re in Vienna, you definitely have to visit the State Opera House! I’ve been to opera houses in the U.S., but most of them are relatively new compared to this one. The level of detail here is incredible – every corner feels like a work of art, from the ornate ceilings to the grand staircases. The performance was equally stunning. The orchestra and opera singers were on another level – so powerful and moving that even though I’m not usually into classical music, I loved every minute of it. This was truly an unforgettable experience and one of those bucket-list items you absolutely have to check off when visiting Vienna.
Regis K — Google review
An incredible experience!!! Gorgeous interior and screens to translate the opera for you in a handful of languages. We did get a bit hot, but we were in the top level! If you aren’t looking to watch the whole opera (we did), I would recommend gambling for the standing room seats! Way cheaper and you can leave at intermission.

Cafe
Café Sacher Wien is a quintessential Austrian café located in the heart of Vienna, offering a typical Viennese coffee-house atmosphere and the opportunity to indulge in an Original Sacher-Torte. The café boasts a rich history, situated near Vienna's opulent opera house and adorned with elegant décor. Its signature dessert, the Sacher Torte, is a decadent dark-chocolate cake with a layer of tangy apricot jam, served with whipped cream.
Visiting Café Sacher in Munich was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the elegant, classic atmosphere—it feels truly special. I had their famous Sacher-Torte, and it was absolutely divine: rich, perfectly moist chocolate cake with a smooth layer of apricot jam. The coffee complemented it beautifully, and every detail, from the presentation to the service, felt top-notch. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. This isn’t just a café; it’s a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fine desserts, quality coffee, and a touch of luxury. I can’t wait to return!
Webman T — Google review
This café is for you if you enjoy a condescending and inattentive service, albeit in a nice historical setting. There is often a long queue outside, however when we were sat upstairs, the floor was half-empty. Perhaps this is to create a sense of exclusivity or the service is simply lacking efficiency (as highlighted in other reviews). We came here for a meal and the cake. The server made it his mission to make this experience as awkward as possible. To start, he came across as quite rude and condescending. He proceeded to knock over one of our glasses, without apologising or cleaning up the contents on the table. The attention to detail was poor, as he forgot to bring the spoons for the soup, and the butter for the breads (we never got the butter). This is despite multiple reminders. Apart from that, the main attraction - Sachertorte - was nothing more than an average chocolate cake. We have had it plenty of times before in Salzburg and simply wanted to try it in the original location. Overall, I am aware that this review won’t stop tourists from visiting the café, but it would be a shame if their experience is tarnished by the same level of service we received. Hopefully they are able to make some much needed improvements to match the more pleasant experience we received in Sacher Salzburg Café, which would be fitting of this historical establishment.

Well I enjoyed it. I just went for the experience and a very nice afternoon hot chocolate and the famous Sacher Torte, which was everything I expected. There was a bit of a queue on a cold afternoon but hey, it's in all the guidebooks so it's going to be busy. Service was pleasant, quick and polite. To those who have given poor reviews I would say get over yourselves! The place is famous and will serve what has done it well for many years, so enjoy it for what it is.
Nick P — Google review
A too much hyped Café but reality doesn't meet the expectations at all. Everything was mediocre at best. They were polite but a bit cold. Υou will wait outside to be called even early in the morning when there is no-one else waiting. You will sit wherever they tell you even when every table is empty. Coffee and famous Sachertorte are very average and they are definitely not worth the money. On the good side the interior is really classy. I would not recommend it.
Panagiotis T — Google review
Beautiful and classic atmosphere, with that traditional Viennese charm. The Sacher Torte is truly delicious and worth its reputation. However, my experience was affected by the attitude of one of the waiters. He slightly raised his voice and acted with a certain arrogance, as if placing himself above the guests, even while remaining outwardly calm. This small detail disturbed my peace during the visit and ended up ruining what could have been an excellent experience. In short: great dessert, pleasant setting, but the arrogance of the staff, especially this particular waiter, made the visit less enjoyable than expected.

Cons: 1 - There was a large option of coffee, but the selection of pastries was limited. 2 - We did not find the service attentive or friendly. We don‘t need to chat or make small talk, but a smile is way better than some staring, I am a client here, I m not asking for some favor. 3 - It took them a long time to clean the tables even though there was a long line outside. Pro: the cake was good
Matheus S — Google review
Very expensive place for mediocre food and rude staff. Spent around 90 euro for a small portion lunch and a chocolate cake that isn’t anything special (had way better cake anywhere else) and some coffee. When the waitress thought our tip wasn’t high enough she sighed and instantly turned grumpy and almost mad. Unbelievable. Best to avoid. The restaurant itself looks very nice and fancy but that doesn’t outweigh it.

I visited with my baby. There was a space for the stroller, and they even had the same Stokke high chair we use at home, so my baby seemed really comfortable. He actually fell asleep in the chair. The café had such a lovely vibe, and the apple strudel was much better than the ones I’ve tried elsewhere. What really made the visit special, though, was the server with curly blonde hair. She had the warmest smile, and her positive energy just brightened the café. I left a little extra tip and got a small gift in return. which was such a lovely surprise. She truly matched the café! beautiful, sweet, and kind.

Hot dog stand
When visiting Vienna, experiencing the local food scene is a must, and Bitzinger Sausage Stand is a standout choice for authentic street food. Located near the Albertina Museum, this iconic wurstelstand offers a variety of sausages, with the cheese-stuffed option being a favorite among visitors. Whether enjoyed on a plate or in hot dog style with ketchup, these sausages are a popular choice for locals and tourists alike.
No English menu!! I combed through reviews and ordered the first two things on the menu - the one with cheese is great! And that's the without buns version which I prefer, if you want bun order from the second section "hotdogs". No bun version still comes through brown bread slice FYI. The sausages were perfectly grilled, very happy to have tried this!

💯 This place worth the hype it gets on social media for sure. The wait is not so frustrating because they work super fast and in less than 10 minutes, you’ll have your food. The food taste is also perfect. I tried smoked wurst and the one with cheese inside and both were really tasty. The only thing that can be bothering is that they don’t have english menu.
Behnam — Google review
I know it is just a small stand that sells sausage. I know there is no seating area and the line can get long, you might wait over 30 minutes. But I am telling you, it is absolutely worth the wait and the hype. The baguette might look like too much bread at first, but it was the softest and fluffiest bread I have ever had. It actually made the sausage taste even better. I definitely recommend this place.
Shirin M — Google review
The sausages here are amazing, worth getting through the abrupt service. The person managing our order forgot to give us a drink and we stood there waiting. He got on his phone to chat and then kept asking what else we wanted while getting us more brown bread. It took a few slices of bread to get the radler we ordered, all while he was frustrated with us. This doesn’t outweigh how good the sausages are. I will continue to visit this stand when I am in Vienna because it really is so delicious.
Jessica G — Google review
The sausages are awesome! I took the one with the cheese and the spicy one. The cheesy one is so juicy and and spicy one has a great aftertaste 🌶️ The line is long, that’s a bit unnecessary as they can make things more efficient 🙏

Don’t have an English menu. There was a line, but it was moving quickly. Waiting time 5-10min. You can have a snack before or after visiting the opera house, as it is very close to it.
Marius T — Google review
Try the sausages. Really. Just once. Don’t skip a classic Vienna food stop just because it’s staffed by trolls. I’m joking. Kind of. The first time we went, I figured the guy was just tired. Maybe a rough dinner rush. Gave him the benefit of the doubt. Then we came back the next night and nope. Same guys, same faces that looked personally offended we dared to order food. These aren’t bad days. This is their whole personality. We got the spicy sausage and the cheese sausage. Both were great. But as we were leaving, we almost witnessed a full-on fight between a local and one of the trolls. If the locals are over it, you know it’s not just you. Sausages are worth it. Just don’t expect a smile.
Emily G — Google review
If you’re in Vienna and craving a quick but unforgettable local bite, this Würstelstand near the Opera House is an absolute must! The Käsekrainer (cheese-filled sausage) is a revelation—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled with molten cheese oozing from the center. It’s wrapped in a piping hot, crusty-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside bread roll that holds everything together beautifully. The combination of the slightly spicy sausage and warm bread creates a comforting, satisfying experience that hits the spot. The service is quick and efficient despite the long lines (a clear sign you’re in the right place), and you can enjoy your snack while soaking in views of the Vienna State Opera. Whether you go with ketchup, mustard, or both, this sausage-in-a-bun experience feels both iconic and indulgent. A must-try street food experience in Vienna that lives up to the hype!

Aida is a popular cafe located at Singerstrasse 1, near Stephensplatz and St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna. The cafe's pink interior and second level seating with city views make it a must-visit spot for a colorful break. Aida offers an extensive coffee menu with detailed descriptions and pictures to help customers choose their perfect cup. While the cafe may lack some charm, its affordable prices and quick service make it a recommended stop.
Love AIDA. Hope you get lucky and get beautiful “Bernadette” as your Waitress. Fun, and speaks great English. But beware not all locations have the same menu. This location has breakfast all day. The egg dishes included a Scrambled options which comes with a small salad and 2 slices of toast. Cappuccinos were nice and strong. Neighboring tables were enjoying Ice Cream dishes and Cakes, desserts. All of it looked amazing. Crowd outside was good. Busy area. Lots of people watching. Close to Stephan Platz Church. Come here to relax. Highly recommend this particular location. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Centrally located in Vienna town. It claimed to serve the 'best coffee and cakes' but we didn't think so. The fruit smoothy I got was tasteless, felt it was made with water and not juice. Price is reasonable though. Service staff is attentive and got a sense of humour, otherwise I would have rated this a 1-star place.

Once we discovered this lovely cafe, it became our morning tradition! The Vienna melange and Bircher muesli were our favorites! The waitstaff are superb. Ivanka and Sylwia were so friendly and we looked forward to seeing them every morning! The atmosphere is cheery and delightful. We enjoyed watching the pastry counter being filled each morning! This cafe is a gem in the middle of Vienna!
Nancy K — Google review
Service is too low and too rude. I chose this brunch several times, but still no chance. They are not friendly and the service quality is not high. Despite the service location being great. The view is also awesome. Sweets are fresh and tasty. Especially local applesweet is good here. At least for takeaway, I recommend to try. Other deserts are a bit costly.
Fatima A — Google review
This place is supposed to be a ‘low cost alternative’ to caffès like Cafe Central, Landtman…. However, the price was almost the same as in more iconic places and you even have to pay to go to the toilet despite having consumed in the Café. The coffees were good but de Kaiserschmarrn was nothing highlightable (I’d recommend to taste others like Demel’s as you’ll get better quality and experience)
Ariadna M — Google review
Coffee Aida is a decent café located in a very tourist-friendly area of Vienna, making it a convenient stop for visitors exploring the city. The location is definitely a plus if you’re sightseeing and need a quick coffee break. While the café offers a pleasant atmosphere and good service—the staff are friendly and welcoming—the menu is relatively limited compared to other coffee spots in Vienna. If you’re looking for a wide variety of specialty drinks or artisanal pastries, you might find more exciting options elsewhere in the city. That said, Aida maintains a classic Viennese charm and is a reliable choice for a simple coffee and snack. It’s not the most innovative or diverse café, but it delivers a consistent experience with courteous service. 👍 Good for a quick stop in a tourist zone 👎 Limited menu compared to other Viennese cafés 😊 Friendly staff and clean environment
Fabiano D — Google review
The hot chocolate at Aida in Vienna is absolutely delicious! Rich, creamy, and perfectly smooth, it’s pure indulgence in a cup. The flavor is intense but well balanced, making it one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever tasted. A must-try for any chocolate lover visiting Vienna!

tried some of the most popular cakes and coffee here, and everything was absolutely delicious full of rich flavors and perfectly balanced sweetness. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a treat. Definitely a place I would visit again!

Biergart'l im Stadtpark is a charming beer garden located in the park, offering a large covered outside dining area and a friendly staff. The drinks selection is impressive, with a highly recommended dark beer. The prices are reasonable, making it an ideal spot for families. The food is delicious, with options like bratwurst and chicken schnitzel. It's a perfect place to relax after visiting nearby attractions like the Johann Strauss statue and Beethoven Statue in Stadt Garden Vienna.
Visited this same restaurant twice on our holiday because it’s so perfect! Beautiful location in the park. Large covered outside dining area. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The drinks selection is very good. I can highly recommend the dark beer! Prices are very reasonable indeed. (x4 beer & x2 main meals approx. €50). All the food we had was amazing! There are onsite toilets available to use for customers use. The restaurant is in the perfect location to take a walk through the park or on to the high street to do a little shopping. Lots of public transportation nearby. I honestly can’t recommend highly enough. This place is an absolute must! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!
Lia V — Google review
Server was very kind. They didn’t have a ton of vegetarian options (they were out of a few things) BUT I really liked the “dumplings” we got and the price was very fair. They tasted more like buttered noodles with eggs but it was good! The salad was really fresh and the dressing was good, too. Beer was good too!
Taylor H — Google review
Pretty good food but the service is severly lacking. Server was trying to be cute when ordering ice latte, saying they dont have that and keep on making a spiel about we have ice coffee and ice cream..... like we just want ice coffee with milk.... it was that hard to say no?
Hungry J — Google review
This restaurant has a very nice setting with polite staff. Good coffee, cold beer, but kaiserschmarrn needs a lot of help; it looks pretty for pictures but surely only tourists wouldn't notice that it's just not made very well. Golly. But I could recommend it as a nice spot to stop at and have a few drinks while in the Stadtpark.
AXRvibes — Google review
Nice, calm and shady beer garden. Best place to get meals and drinks after visiting Johann Strauss statue and Beethoven Statue in Stadt Garden Vienna. The price is not expensive, reasoanble and normal to other posh restaurant and cafe in Vienna. The place is busy and lots of people, travellers coming which shows this is good place to enjoy and relax.

My most relaxing sit down during my visit in Vienna. Excellent service and a super vibe to the place. The visit is very weather dependent so aim for a blue sky day. Nice selection of food and snacks at very reasonable prices. Visited twice and enjoyed it.

Location: nicely settled in a beautiful park. Drinks: Zwickl Naturtrüb, excellent and tasteful, if you like the special taste. Food: 1. Ćevapčići: okay, but not according to original recipe. Not even close 😉 max 3 stars. 2. Wienerschnitzel mit Salat: wonderful, tasty. Salad was very good and fresh. Few more leaves would be welcome. 4 stars. 3. Hünerschnitzel: okay, max 3 stars. 4. Sperribs: good, tasty, but not crispy enough. Between 3 and 4 stars. Food waiting time: ca. 40min. and longer.

Belvedere Palace is a stunning example of Baroque architecture located in Vienna's Landstrasse district. It consists of two grand palaces separated by a beautiful French-style garden. Originally built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy in the 18th century, it now houses an impressive art collection spanning from the Middle Ages to contemporary works, including a notable collection of Klimt paintings.
Wow! Loved this extraordinary attraction and gardens. The architecture is amazing. My son and I really enjoyed the walk through and landscapes. The stone carvings / statues are beautifully placed. We did not visit inside the attraction as we will go another day.
PAUL M — Google review
We pre-bought tickets to the Upper Belvedere and skipped the lower! Was a good choice. It’s a lovely palace with incredibly well kept grounds. Really fun art inside! We were happy to have gone!
Olivia H — Google review
The Belvedere is a wonderful choice for a stroll and for experiencing beauty. The park is very pleasant and inspires a positive outlook, and the museum itself is incredibly aesthetically pleasing. You can see wonderful paintings not only by Klimt but also by other artists, as well as sculptures. There are absolutely unique works of art, portraits, and still lifes that are every bit as good as the famous canvases. The Klimt hall is wonderful; I really enjoyed his landscapes! A wonderful place!
Aida B — Google review
A stunning historic complex with beautiful baroque architecture and meticulously maintained gardens. The Upper and Lower Palaces are impressive, and the art collections inside, including works by Klimt, are incredible. Walking through the gardens and enjoying the view of Vienna from the palace is a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended for history, art, and photography lovers .
Saeed B — Google review
Amazing! The paintings and organisation of the museum is impressive, the collection of Gustav klimit is iconic. If you’re there to discover the palace as a historical place i don’t recommend since there is no rooms displayed. If you’re an art fanatic i recommend 3 hours.
Haya A — Google review
Visiting Belvedere Palace in Vienna is a feast for the eyes, particularly if you appreciate grand architecture and historic structures. The palace itself is stunning, with intricate interiors and elegant layouts that make wandering through its halls a visual delight. Even with parts of the building under restoration, the charm and grandeur of the palace remain impressive. The exhibition, however, is less remarkable. While it has its moments, it doesn’t quite match the awe-inspiring atmosphere created by the palace and its architecture. Art lovers may enjoy it, but for those primarily seeking a “wow” factor, it may feel underwhelming. A practical note: the queues can be long, especially on weekends. Even if you buy tickets online, you may have to wait for a later slot; when we arrived, our online tickets only allowed entry three hours later. Planning ahead and booking well in advance is highly recommended. The gardens are fantastic and free to explore. Locals often jog, run, or just relax there, and it's lovely to see artists drawing or people chilling. Overall, the views and grounds make it worth avisit! Overall, Belvedere Palace is worth visiting for its architecture and historical appeal, but don’t set your expectations too high for the exhibitions.
Kelvin T — Google review
I visited the Belvedere to experience the art of Gustav Klimt and to take in the stunning architecture and perfectly maintained gardens. The museum spans three floors, each offering something remarkable, from the magnificent Marble Hall, where the Austrian State Treaty was signed, to galleries filled with masterpieces from different eras. The highlight, of course, is Klimt’s The Kiss and Judith, along with several of his early works that show his artistic evolution. The atmosphere is both grand and intimate, you feel the history, the art, and the spirit of Vienna all in one place. Book your tickets in advance and stick to your time slot, as it can get busy. Give yourself time to explore the grounds, they’re as inspiring as the collection inside. A must-visit in Vienna. Highly recommended.
Sabbi A — Google review
I just visited the spot on weekend Sunday where the place is crowded with people (as expected). I didn't enter the upper and lower palace, but only enjoy the view at the garden for free. I can see they spend a lot of effort in maintaining the garden, which is photogenic and elegant. People can literally just sit there chill and relax for whole day, lovely place.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Wien Mitte The Mall is a large urban shopping center situated above a transportation hub in Vienna. With over 50 shops, it offers a diverse range of products including fashionable clothing, shoes, household items, travel essentials, and books. Visitors can easily access the mall from the nearby railway station. In addition to upscale retail stores, there is also a food court and supermarket available for daily grocery needs.
Relatively small mall however with excellent options for dining, such as at Ramien, Vapiano, McDonalds etc. Recently several new stores opened, so you can buy almost everything starting with groceries, clothes, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, flowers, up to mobile phones and technology products. The grocery shop Spar Pronto is also open on Sundays and holidays (please check opening hours separately). The airport train CAT as well as the SBahn 7 stops underneath the Mall and there is a great connection with most of the Vienna's districts. metro lines U3 and U4 are also accessible here. There is a cinema across the street and Stadtpark is few minutes away by foot
Afrodita N — Google review
Would have been nice to walk around on weekdays. Too bad I was here on Sunday, only interspar pronto is opened. Even though it carries lots of food to go, it might get really busy due to the fact that other shops don't open. Also for the airport train, CAT.

Nice shopping complex with integrated transportation hub and good food.
Ai C — Google review
A big mall with many shops, restaurants, etc. One can easily spend half a day here. Most convenient, it is also where the CAT is located. The express trains takes you direct to Vienna Airport in 16 minutes
Cindy C — Google review
I love the shops and food choices available here. The mall has clean WCs and a playground for children. It has benches to sit on when you get tired. It is near hotels, parks and public transportation so it's the perfect place to go for catching up with friends from all over. I hope it adds C & A, Ströck and Anker in its roster of shops.
M B — Google review
Wien Mitte The Mall is an incredibly convenient urban shopping center. It sits right above the major Wien Mitte transport hub, including the CAT airport train. The mall is clean and offers a decent variety of shops and restaurants. It's an excellent passageway and stop for essentials, especially with the grocery store open on Sundays. While functional, it's more of a transit hub than a destination mall.
Ilan C — Google review
⚠️The mall is where you board the airport line, called CAT. Once I figured it out, i find it great. But before I figured it out, I almost missed my CAT to catch my flight😆 It’s a mall. My mind, shaped by years of living in the US, couldn’t put a mall and a train station together. Even though the Union Station in DC, Penn Station in NYC and the 30th Street Station in Philly all have tons of shops and restaurants.
Handan B — Google review
🚉 Wien Mitte – The Mall A place where everything connects. Wien Mitte is much more than a shopping mall — it’s the beating heart of Vienna’s transport network and a place where modern life, travel, and comfort meet. Located right in the city center, it’s the main intermodal transport hub, linking the city’s subway (U3, U4), S-Bahn trains, CAT (City Airport Train), buses, and trams. Inside, you’ll find everything you need — from shops, cafés, and restaurants to services, supermarkets, and travel essentials. Whether you’re catching a train to the airport, exploring the city, or just taking a break, Wien Mitte feels like a small city within the city. 💬 Verdict: Clean, efficient, full of life — the perfect example of Vienna’s elegance meeting urban mobility.

St. Charles's Church, also known as Karlskirche, is an 18th-century Habsburg cathedral located in Vienna. The church features a 32.5-meter platform offering stunning views of its ornate frescoes. It is a unique blend of ancient Roman and Greek architectural elements combined with Byzantine, Baroque, and Renaissance styles.
An evening in the church with Vivaldi's Four Seasons. A beautiful church, richly marbled, and a perfect setting for a cold night listening to music. Recommended. Get tickets, it sells out.

I'll never understand why you have to pay to visit churches and cathedrals. In Spain, most cathedrals charge an entrance fee. But in France, none (from what I've seen) while in Vienna, some are free, while others, like this one, require an expensive entrance fee (10 euros or more). Why? The exterior is splendid, and the interior even more so, I suppose... But I do not think you should pay for a church or a cathedral!
Dan M — Google review
Very interesting church from the inside. The dome inside is decorated with some modern lighting that makes is look more unique that anything else I have seen anywhere. You can also go upstairs and get a view from the top which is very nice. The alter inside is very nice and everything inside is build in a Baroque style with some Greek like columns which is interesting.
Anand — Google review
The Karlskirche is one of Vienna’s most beautiful Baroque churches, built in the 18th century by Emperor Charles VI in gratitude for the end of a plague. Dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, the church is renowned for its grand dome, twin columns inspired by Trajan’s Column in Rome, and its harmonious blend of classical and baroque elements. Inside, visitors can admire stunning frescoes, marble details, and panoramic views from the dome’s viewing platform. The church also hosts classical concerts and light installations, making it not only a place of worship but also a center of art and culture in Vienna.
SOFIA C — Google review
I attended a Vivaldi concert here and it was very nice. It was cold inside, so I was happy I had warm clothes, even though a light blanket was provided. I liked the music and the acoustics in the church was amazing. What I didn't like was that the toilets were the public toilets, about 100m away from the church, and I had to pay to use them, even though I had payed a ticket for the concert. I think that, if they are hosting events and charging for the tickets, they should use some of the money to build proper toilets for their guests on site.
Ana C — Google review
Very beautiful church that hosts a period accurate Vivaldi Four Seasons concert. Beautiful and stunning exterior and interior and very good concert as well. The only disappointing thing is that you have to pay to see the inside of the church even during normal days with no activities.
Wong X — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous church, much more modern design than a lot others in the city, but extraordinary experience, and dont forget to climb up to the top balcony for great views of the city. 4 stars because it is the only church you have to pay to enter in the city, and the art fixture of neon squiggles completely prevents you from looking at the art on tbe roof

Museums
Albertina is a 19th-century Habsburg palace located in the largest of the Habsburg dynasty's residential palaces. It houses an extensive collection of old master prints, 20th-century art, over 65,000 watercolors and drawings, and about 70,000 photographs. The museum features works by renowned artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt and others.
Visited the Albertina in 1st week of October. There is an escalator on street level to take you to the enterance, so no need to take the steps. Save your energy for the lovely rooms inside. Visited the exhibition of Monet to Picasso. Really enjoyed it. Also Visited the state rooms which have some wonderful Durer watercolours not to be missed. There were a few other exhibitions as well including Modern Gothic at present. Well worth the ticket and time.

Well organized. We enjoyed the Picasso, Kandinsky, Van Gogh and several other famous pieces. Recommended if you love art and have 2-3 hours to spend in a museum. Currently showing an amazing exhibition on Modern Gothic that compares the newer Gothic with the pieces that inspired them.

Albertina is one of the most important and famous museums in Vienna. Is in the Innere Stadt in the centre of Vienna. We went after 4:30pm and did not wait to get inside. We concentrate mostly in the permanent exhibition of Picasso and Monet. We really enjoyed seeing the paints. Also saw some paints from Klimt. Highly recommend if you like art. You go from Monet who was a pioneer in impressionist to Picasso who went from pink to blue to Cubism. Well worth it. Enjoy

This was one of my favorite art museums ever, I adore the whole wing dedicated to Gothic Modernism, which is of course where you can find Van Gogh. You can also there find a lot of amazing stained glass. Another exhibit which stands out is a room dedicated to Mary's mourning at the death of Jesus, a subject often neglected in grander art collections

Interesting museum, with lots of different styles. I liked the "light" exhibition in the basement and the state rooms the most. It has a nice view from the terrace, which you can access even if you don't visit the museum. I wanted to check the restaurant/cafe, but didn't have enough time.

Do&Co Albertina is an upscale venue for local specialties and some global dishes, with marble interiors and outdoor terrace. The restaurant is located in the world famous Albertina museum.
Great food, location is quite optimal in the city center. Staff were super friendly and quick with everything. Food was delicious and the waiter gladly substituted sweet potato fries for regular when I asked (very uncommon to find restaurants willing to allow substitutions in Europe). I was very pleased with my experience. My friend said his burger was great and the beer was wonderful and had a unique character.

Service is top notch (service is charged at €4pp, but really not complaining). The food is also very good, although portions can be slightly bigger. The atmosphere inside is high-end and sophisticated. We enjoyed a good lunch after visiting the museum.
Vincent G — Google review
A Subpar Experience Saved by Excellent Management Our visit during today’s busy lunch service started off on a subpar note but was ultimately redeemed by the restaurant’s exceptional young manager. The tables were set with bread plates, suggesting a starter, but the bread itself didn’t arrive (despite hungrily asking) until the main courses were served—about 45 minutes later. Thankfully, the beautiful views of the surrounding royal gardens helped make the wait more bearable. Unfortunately, when the bread did arrive, it came with a piece of shipping tape still attached—a small but telling sign of the quality control issues we encountered. My steak, ordered medium rare, was served well done. Perhaps it was my mistake, as the chef’s note was that the center was perfect (maybe ignoring the dry edges). While portions were small, the flavors were very good. The true highlight of our experience was the restaurant manager, who jumped into action on the front lines—offering attentive, genuine service despite the hectic lunch rush. Her professionalism and grace under pressure were remarkable, deserving a fully staffed team of properly trained servers in order to enable the service levels one desires to expected from Do&Co. To our surprise, she later presented us with a beautiful gesture to make up for the inconveniences—an unexpected act that could easily serve as a textbook example of outstanding customer service.

This was an absolute surprise. After spending a few wonderful hours at the Albertina Museum, we expected nothing more than to simply relax at the museum café — but it turned out to be the best coffee experience we had in Vienna. The Sachertorte was exceptional, truly the best chocolate cake we’ve ever tasted. It’s a timeless classic, perfectly balanced with a modern touch of fruit, nuts, and rich chocolate flavor. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. A delightful and memorable way to end our museum visit.

I stumbled upon this Demel spot by accident, was here just to look around the terrace. I was planning to try Kaiserschmarrn at one of the Demel locations but the queues were so long, I changed my mind. Here, however, there was absolutely no wait. If you enter inside, past the terrace seating area, they have a dedicated stand just for Kaiserschmarrn, which staff member makes fresh on the spot. It was so delicious, we had to go back for the second portion.

Beautiful restaurant and a nice place to rest before heading back to the museum. The service was very good. I loved the atmosphere inside and it had air conditioning which was unfortunately needed this week in Vienna. My only complaint was that there was so much dressing on the salad that it overwhelmed it completely. I had to use the bread plate to discard most of it. The mousse was divine. So glad they had the smaller option of just one.

Vienna is home to several popular chain bakeries, including Anker, which can be found in almost every district of the city and are open on Sundays until 15:00. These bakeries offer a variety of baked goods, as well as milk products, cheese, and cold cuts. Anker's krapfen is a must-try for those looking for an affordable and delightful treat. The WU Campus location opens early for those in need of a quick snack before work.
This convenient underground café offers a delightful breakfast experience with a diverse menu featuring both Western and local options, including halal choices. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it an ideal spot for a leisurely morning meal. While parking can be limited during peak hours, it's generally easy to find a spot for a quick breakfast.

They have a huge selection and the store is clean and pretty! I ordered an Apfelstrudel for 3,60€. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with it. The Apfelstrudel was completely cold. I think most people prefer their dessert to be warm and fresh.. but eating it felt like eating frozen desert from the supermarket :( I think it’s unfortunately very overpriced for what you get.

The service is terrible, very rude, the cafe is very light, too much water, very bad

Great pastries and nice coffee to grab and go. They make some nice cold drinks aswell.

A great place for a quick snack when you want to have something "on the go. Fresh sandwiches, good coffee and very friendly people. There are a couple of dessert options - from chocolate croissants through cheesecake and up to local Austrian offerings. This Anker branch opens quite early so you will be able to grab something before work!

Good deal for a hot drink and dessert. Sufficient space to sit. Special opening hours around Christmas and New Year. Perfect place to take a rest.

QUICK BITE Paired with the neon lights and underground vibe, this is a great place to get your morning snack.

I used to wait for my friends here quite often, when it's cold. The produce is not always fresh and the interior needs an overhaul.

Hot dog restaurant
If you're wandering through Vienna and have a craving for something spicy, look no further than "Würstelstand - Zum scharfen René." This iconic sausage stand has been serving up deliciously fiery sausages since 1968, making it a must-visit for non-vegan food lovers. Nestled conveniently at Schwarzenbergplatz, just a stone's throw from the city center, this spot is renowned for its unique take on traditional Viennese fare.
Loved it. We had a traditional sausage with mayo, mustard and ketchup all mixed together inside the bread. Super nice, highly recommend. It was so good in a rainy day that we got to order the second one which was a spicy one. We were warmly offered curry sauce to go with it. We prefer the traditional one but both were nice. The seller even gave us a foil to wrap the leftover bread.

Best sausage stand in Vienna!!! Stopped by here on my way back from The Belvedere museum and this was recommended as a place to stop. Highly agree! Fabulous sausage and so not touristy. The owner was so helpful. I loved every bite of both sausages I bought!!!

It was so nice, we went twice ✌🏼 Robert who runs the stand offered such great service — we got the Käsekrainer with extra spice (I think he added some type of scotch bonnet oil and man was it spicy!!)🌶️ the ottakringer and bread helped He came out to check on us to make sure the spiciness was just the right amount and recognized us when we came back the next day! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick and authentic experience in Vienna!

The guy was an absolute legend. The sausage was cooked to perfection. I had the vinegar pickles and the spiced pepper pickles on the side (gotta say, these are some of the best pepper pickles I’ve ever had). All-round good vibes—great, easy, quick street food.

We tried sausages in some of the most famous places, but found the flavors to be pretty standard and the service rather unfriendly. Here, instead, we found the best sausage of our stay in Vienna, combined with the owner’s kindness and great willingness to explain the menu to us (since it was written only in Austrian German). 5/5 hearts and a big thank you from both me and my girlfriend!

I enjoyed the Käsekrainer. The gentleman who sold me the Käsekrainer was very kind. All in all, a nice würstelstand. I would visit again.

an amazing sausage stand to visit, the sausages were so good we went for seconds after :) tried the sausage in the standard form (sausage with sliced bread on the side) and the hotdog form the guy has been working here for 20 years so he is super experienced and knows what he’s doing! thank you for a great first meal in vienna

Perfect fast stop to put some fuel in while watching people and tram passing by. From the reviews I saw that the currywurst looked amazing so I went for it. It is indeed really tasty and don't forget to put spicy sauce, it's the top notch. Also, the kiosk guy is the coolest guy in the world.

Cafe
Café Prückel is a classic Viennese coffeehouse located in the city center, offering a traditional yet stylish ambiance. The interior boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and mirror panels overlooking the Ringstrasse. Renovated in 1955 by architect Oswald Haerdtl, it combines midcentury charm with original Art Nouveau details. Established in the early 1900s, it exudes a 50s flair after a subsequent refurbishment.
The food was delicious and beautifully served! Our order came very fast and our waiter was very nice. Recommend 100% to anyone who wants a delicious schnitzel. There’s also vegetarian options that were delicious too.

A great place when staying close to city centre: quick service and tasty food made my day and day of my colleagues. The time was after 17, still not overcrowded but better to book upfront when considering to stay there for the later dinner as most of the tables were booked. Thanks to waiters!

The apple strudel is out of this world! The layers of apple and thin crust are baked to perfection. The plum dumpling an absolute delicious and well worth the 15 minute wait. The café is large but bustling and full. Clearly well loved by the public. We learnt about the café from a friend who used to frequent the café. Very grateful for the recommendation.

Lovely coffee house, a unique mix of old school furniture and flair combined with light filled rooms with high ceilings, lovely vibe. Ample outside seating as well, inside you can also find the numerous newspapers to browse. Super nice Topfenstrudel, very Topfen forward. Coffee is available in decaf as well, and waiters are quite quick and friendly, some more than others but I felt well cared for. I also liked the cups and plates in Prückel design.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A Perfect Introduction to Vienna’s Coffeehouse Culture Café Prückel was the first stop on a coffeehouse tour my friends and I took through Vienna with a local guide — and what an introduction it was. Located right in the heart of the city, this café delivered the perfect mix of charm, history, and warm hospitality that defines the traditional Viennese coffeehouse experience. ⸻ Atmosphere: Café Prückel has a classic, old-school charm that immediately sets the tone. From the vintage décor to the elegant lighting and cozy seating, it’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and take it all in. It’s easy to see why locals and travelers alike keep coming back. ⸻ Coffee & Sweets: This was my first real Viennese coffeehouse experience, and it absolutely set the bar high. The coffee was excellent, rich and smooth, served in true traditional style. We also tried a selection of pastries and sweets, which were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. ⸻ Experience: What made the visit even more enjoyable was the laid-back, unhurried vibe. Despite being a popular spot, it never felt rushed or overly touristy. It was simply a genuinely pleasant experience — a great way to ease into the day and soak in a bit of Viennese culture. ⸻ Final Thoughts: If you’re new to Vienna’s café scene, Café Prückel is a fantastic starting point. It’s elegant but approachable, traditional yet welcoming — and it set the perfect tone for the rest of our coffeehouse tour. Highly recommended for first-timers and coffee lovers alike.

Great Viennese cafe with long history and magnificent architectural design. Originally opened in 1903, it was redesigned in 50th by famous architect Oswald Haerdtl. Most of his work has been preserved and restored recently. You can still sit on his original chairs and sofas and, please, do not miss all the light fixtures. It's truly one of a kind and brings the whole aesthetic of the place together. It's quite busy cafe, so I would suggest making a reservation. You might need to wait a little for a waiter, as they all are busy attending many other hungry customers. The food was good, as expected. We opted for a schnitzel, and it didn't disappoint. Don't forget to check out on the latest news at the newspaper rack - old Viennese tradition. Those newspaper holders with hooks are beyond cute.

Had a coffee and a strudel. They almost fit the price tag expectations.. not really - espresso was ok, strudel had many fiberous apple shells in them - had way better strudel for half price before. I waited good 10 mins to pay after I asked the staff for it. Lady who waited my table got nervous whether the payment went through and even when I wanted to show her phone notification the money left my account she only spiralled down her nervous mood. I was in a hurry by then, apologised to have to leave before she can ‘do her thing’ checking if payment arrived. But I loved the interior..
