Food was good nothing to complain. May be the quantity of the meat portions should be increased we only got 3 piece of mutton for the price its very expensive. The service last couple of times was good but the last time I went wasn't upto the mark. There was no water no cups I think this should have been the 1st thing which should have come to the table. Also the servers were no where to be found to ask. I had to grab a water bottle from near the door and yet had to drink without a cup. In service number 1 rule always server should be there were a customer can see and call to.

Went there to take away some lunch cz this place is just a few steps away from where i work. Decided to go with the chicken dum biriyani and waited there for almost 25 minutes to get that. At first it looked deserted but chalked it out to a weekday matter and sat down. Ordered a Buy 1 Get 1 offer for the biriyani and an EGB 500ml bottle - the portion was unusually small compared to any other place in Colombo that serves biriyani in a copper traditional pot. The second biriyani had a hair at exactly the bottom of the pot - when shown they gave a replacement after taking the pot and the plate with rice, chicken and egg - with just a bit of rice at the bottom of the pot. When we asked for chicken and rice they gave a dried piece of fried chicken and fried egg (as opposed to boiled egg that usually comes with a biriyani) - when we opened the egg the it definitely smelled bad - when it was returned the owner/ or someone in charge - an older lady started shouting at us and told us to pay and get out of the place or they will call the police. When confronted about it the server took the bottle to check and when we asked back for it suddenly it was missing - the entire damn cooler in that place was stacked with bottled of EGB - possibly expired - God only knows. The older lady even started shouting badly at us and told us we maybe mentally upset, and to go and beg on the road to eat. When we said to call the police - another younger guy came in an started telling us they gave us 3 biriyanis and when we asked about the expired EGB he promptly asked us why we didn't check the date before we drank it - I have been drinking carbonated soft drinks for more than 20 years unless the shop is a dingy place let alone in the heart of Colombo 03 - I have never checked the expiry date nor have I ever seen someone check the expiry date on a soft drink. He accused us of not checking the date. And when we told them to call the police if they want us to pay - they slyly relented and told us they will not charge us but they will also not call the police - I wonder why. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE. The portion size is adequate for an average person and price is reasonable. Customers can choose either one of spicy or medium spicy variants. Spicy variant had right amount of spiciness for my preferences. The same staff at the counter is taking care of table service too. He was friendly however I have to call him couple of times to order the dishes and get the bill etc. The customer service needs to be improved. The dining area was clean and well maintained. It was a short-ish walk from Jetwing Colombo where we were staying. Super small and quaint restaurant - we were the only ones there when we walked in. During our duration there, one other person came. We ordered sambar with vada, onion pakora, paneer tikka masala and aaloo matar masala and a variety of 4 different kinds of bread (butter naan, kulcha, lachha paratha and butter kulcha). Food came out FAST AND HOT AND FRESH (all caps to emphasize how good it was). Prices were also affordable and the waiter was nice and helpful with picking our dishes as they had a very wide variety of options.
