I stayed here 8 days and no matter what i asked for there was no follow through to have it done . Checking in my room my first frustration is as i was going up the elevator a house keeper joined , and little did i know she was advised to go to my room ahead of me . Since we obviously got there at the same time she entered first without ever speaking to me and began remove things from my cabinet which i later found to be the refrigerator. Once she left with just a laugh and no advisement of what she had done i realized she had put a lock on my refrigerator . Being here for 8 days i called right away to have this removed unless it was broken or something . The front desk advised if it was ok if someone could do it the next day and i said sure . I ended up asking 5 days in a row to have this opened before giving up . Ice machine was broken on my floor the whole trip so this was another frustration as i had to room service ice or a drink when i wanted something cold. This showed me the annoyance of something as simple as room service . The front desk would constantly call over and over again for unnecessary updates or check in that were way more annoying than helpful as the phone is incredibly loud and impossible to ignore . Front desk would call right after a room service order to advised that the room service man was on their way. Then they would call again after 20 mins to asked if he had arrived which really annoyed me cuz i don’t see the value in asking that question if he obviously had not returned to them and it had only been 20 mins . Then once my order finally arrived their card machine doesn’t work and ended up charging me twice which they luckily realized before i did but this was another call to advise me after the guy left but was correct . Then as im winding down , about an hour later i receive yet another call from the front desk asking me if everything was ok . The confusion on the amount of calls , led me to question “was everything ok “ ?. I advised they had called me numerous times past the point of necessity in a short period of time , and Was really starting to feel like borderline harassment( not that bad ) but very annoying when trying to relax and not the norm at any Mariott I’ve ever visited . To end my annoyance , once time for me to check out , i asked the woman for a paper copy of the receipt and a digital copy to my email. The emailed copy was never sent . Contacted the hotel several days later as this was a business trip and needed to receipt for expense purposes in my email and In US dollars . Contacted the hotel 5 times throughout the day i called for this receipt to be sent . Each time email was confirmed and each time was placed and hold and told it was done . This all was requested on 10/31 and a week later still never received this receipt even after advising to send to a different email on the last call. After the 5 unexecuted request of something i thought she be simple i just gave up and just had to report i couldn’t get a receipt from the hotel . This hotel was such a poor experience and have to return back to Mexico City often for work . I’ll be trying the Nearby Sheraton or Hilton next time as aside from the location dealing with this hotels staff is more work and added stress than i honestly have the capacity for . Very disappointed in Marriott's standard for this hotel .

We got to experience how some families live a simple life near a canal in Mexico. We experienced serenity of nature. This is the best hotel I've stayed at in CDMX on approximately 30+ trips here. This includes the W (nope), Westin (uh-uh), Sheraton (chaos, if there's a demonstration - and there usually is one ongoing), even the St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott - all too stuffy. Santiago from NJ, by way of the NYU Shanghai campus, was excellent and almost everyone here speaks English perfectly. I felt like I was in NYC, except that the service was better and the staff was much more accommodating. Breakfast was included, nothing spectacular, but everything was solid, good coffee, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, good jams and yogurt. Perfect, light start to the day. The room was not big, but well laid out with every amenity, refrigerator, beverages, Nespresso machine, bottled water and a selection of assorted snacks - all complimentary (except alcohol, unnecessary with all the good bars nearby). The gym was literally situated in a single hotel room on the lower floor. It was tiny, but fully equipped for a one-person, HIIT session. The breakfast that was included every morning was delicious and it was cool seeing the women making local delicacies in the kitchen every morning.
