The rooms were decent, though I did really miss some curtains for the beds, my bed was basically in the middle of the room without curtains so it felt very open. The hostel also hosts daily activities like a board game night and guacamole night. These were really awesome for meeting new people! The guacamole night specifically was very nice! They offer free breakfast which is usually some scrambled eggs, watermelon, bread, and cereal. Not luxurious but for the price I was more than happy to even receive a breakfast. Location was also perfect with nice rooftop view. 9/10 would recommend!

The service was amazing: the reception helped me to stay calm after losing my luggage, getting adapters and just organising my trip. This hostel provides daily walking tours, where you actually learn sth about the neighbourhood (Thank youuuu to Dan and Benito). L’emplacement est parfait car au milieu de tout, à prendre en compte que cela engendre forcément du bruit. La terrasse en rooftop est très agréable en fin de journée quand on ne veut pas sortir de l’hostel, les serveurs sont très sympathiques et on y mange bien. Le petit déjeuner est inclu et est copieux ! Les dortoirs sont plutôt pas mal, les lits sont confortables etc… salle de bain aussi très correcte, et surtout un grand respect pour le personnel d’entretien car tout était nettoyer tout les jours et j’ai rarement était dans des hostels aussi propre ! The other travelers staying here were amazing too, I really think this place attracts the right people. The organized activities led by the hostel didn't feel forced, everyone always got along great, and there's something going on almost every day. Extremely easy to socialize with people with the multiple common areas. Lots of places to relax and talk to others. Everything is clean, nice kitchen, decent sleeping quarters. Only complaint is that the shower water was either boiling hot or ice cold, I couldn't find an in between. And yes the stairs are killer 😂 but it's so worth it. Other than that, this hostel is 10/10. Coolest place ever, the vibes are really just amazing so please go check it out for yourself. Also, the staff allowed me to leave my big bags for two days and let me hang out there even while I was staying at another hostel. Friendliest people ever ❤️

The rooms are nice, with lockers outside so you don’t hear all the mess of people taking out their stuff, and everything is super clean and cosy. But the true highlight is the staff : everybody is super friendly, caring, and ready to give you advices on where to go and what to do. We felt at home instantly! There are many other hostels nearby which have drastically better quality. I've lived other Selina's before and this one definitely does not meet the standards. The only thing good about this place is the cowork space, cafe and the restaurant. Staff is friendly and helpful. But that's about it. As a backpacker you do not demand much but still a certain level of quality, especially from Selina hostels which are usually good and charge a premium price for it. The dorms and spaces are dark in general, aren't well ventilated which would be even more important since they are not air conditioned, the bathrooms do not have soap dispensers, the soap is in a plastic cup, the toilet paper roll is hanging from a clothes hanger. The general vibe is like a place where people are just passing by, holed up in this big building converted into hostel waiting to go to their next destination. They do provide towels which is a nice thing. But I honestly felt like there were homeless vibes there. They can make this hostel much more better by taking care of simple things. You’re paying about $8-10 USD a night, for a spot that is right in the heart of everything, several nice cafes and restaurants right off the same street. Some reviews share that it is dirty or not clean, and maybe that was their experience, but that was not mine. In the beginning, when I was rooming with mostly other men in the 10 bedroom space, of course the bathrooms became dirty. And I had some experiences with extremely loud roommates, but it’s to be expected—it’s a hostel. After these people left and I was roomed with mostly women and natives/families visiting CDMX—there was deep respect for each other, the bathrooms, and sleep, no problem. The main entrance/lobby feels like something out of a movie, really. It is very spacious and a great place to relax or eat takeaway after exploring the city. There are some drawbacks, of course. There is no public laundry service located in the hostel. I was in Mexico during mosquito season, and they are seriously brutal at night and early morning in the rooms with open windows; I quickly learned and got some spray and was fine afterwards.There’s no central A/C in most of the rooms, only a fan or two. But it’s a hostel, not a hotel. Otherwise, hostel staff did regularly clean the spaces and replace sheets, etc. in normal intervals, and were very sweet. The front staff were also all extremely kind to me. I speak little Spanish, and often had to resort to putting Google Translate in their face, and even then they were kind and understanding. Most of the staff spoke English anyway. My flight also got pushed a day and they were able to easily arrange my dates one day forward with no extra charge! This is within walking distance to la Independencia and the area has so many cute restaurants and bars to eat at afterwards but you don't really need to because they include a meal with your service, which is fantastic. Since I came here during the afternoon, I got something off their lunch menu and a tea of my choice. This alone was such a great value. The bonus was that since I came on a weekday afternoon, I had the whole area to myself. The jacuzzi was so relaxing and much needed. The service was excellent, too, though I wish they had some sort of call button instead of having to go down and ask. The noise they also making while preparing things is jarring as they fill bowls, go in and out of rooms and it all breaks with the relaxing vibes. 5. The noise! Everything can be heard. Neither my husband or I slept through the night because we could hear so many noises. At 5:30 am doors slamming, people talking, things being dropped in the floor above. So bad, not a relaxing place at all. I do have to say the all the staff was really nice, from the person that opened from you to the servers.
