I went here today at their new location, which is stunning btw, and got a few things to go. Initially, I went to get a tradition banh mi, but apparently they have crispy pork belly on special Saturday and Sunday, and I so stoked I went with that! This sandwich is unreal. Healthy amount of meat and veggies on a luscious baguette. Also picked up a Vietnamese coffee that will keep you up for 3 days - don’t get me wrong it’s DELICIOUS, but don’t get it after 2pm unless you want to stay up all night. Then picked up a few packs of their house made beef jerky; Curry and hot! I can’t wait to try it. Anyway, you all need to come out and support this FAMILY OWNED business! We wanted some bahn mi sandwiches for later in the day (and to take home to my parents.) Staff recognized that we would be traveling quite a distance and offered to pack the pickled veggies on the side so sandwiches wouldn’t get soggy. They also gave me a bag of ice to pack in my cooler to keep the sandwiches/ meat from spoiling. The top notch service alone would give me a reason to come back just to support this sweet business but the sandwiches were the icing on the cake and soooo delicious. I’m already anticipating a stop next time I drive through Charlotte. I’d honestly make the trip just for the sandwiches.

We waited for an hour for a biscuit, some fries, and two entrees at 11am on a Sunday. We had two little kids with us and a hour wait from ordering to serving is just too much for the kids. The place was busy but it wasn’t like people were lining up down the block busy, just usual NODA on the weekend busy. It’s also so strange to me that they don’t give you any number to put on your table, so the waitresses are holding the food running from the restaurant to the front around the building to the back dining area calling your name. I didn’t know what to expect, but everything about this place is quite cool. The staff is friendly and helpful and I think that positive energy even translates to the overall experience and makes other customers more pleasant. I only went here for breakfast but after looking at the menu I decided to get something for lunch. The prices are comparable to Einstein brothers bagels probably cheaper but the portions are bigger and the options are a bit more unique which I like. I love how every where you turn there is something fun to look at or read that makes this place very unique in comparison to many of the other places surrounded by the area. I was too disappointed to take a picture of the second sandwich which was roast beef with provolone, where all the provolone was stacked on top of each other so I had the pleasure of reassembling my sandwich so that my bites weren’t SIX provolone slices thick. YES SIX! I wish I took a picture because it was crazy. You’re better off eating a sandwich at Panera that is close by for a quarter of the wait and triple the taste.

Amazing authentic Greek food and beer done very well with great people. Gus has made me a huge fan of Greek food again! I had the Grecian Chicken Pita Sandwich with a Greek salad and I was surprised at how the flavors blended together and the quality of the meat made the sandwich so delectable. I ordered a meatball sub to go. It was made to order and still got after a couple minute walk back to the office. 8 inch meatball sub; it was decent. The restaurant is very nice. There are many tables in there, so it’s kind of loud. Our server was a doll! She was kind and patient as it was our first time. We asked about the Cheese and meat appetizer. She stated it was excellent, so we started with that. Well it looked delicious until we came to 3 huge pieces of liver pate. I was not sure what it was, so I took a bite and knew right away!!! Oh boy, why on earth was not disclosed on the menu or by the waitress. Liver is a very specific food item that should be disclosed before you order it. The waitress was really nice and brought out a few pieces of some other meat items for our tray, but then I really could not eat anything off the appetizer after that. SO, if you like liver get this. if not skip it!!!! The other food was delish! We also got 2 desserts to go. Nice place to try, but I don’t think we will be back because having to make reservations is not really my vibe for lunch. I just like to pull up on a restaurant when we’re out and about.

I was so happy find a dedicated vegan restaurant on a day trip to Charlotte and was especially happy that even their vegan cheeses were house-made from good ingredients. A lot of people told me it was fantastic. The service was stellar. Our server was swift and made sure we had everything we needed and kept coming back and asking us if we were OK. One of the things that Brooks' is best know for is their chili. Its pretty much considered an atrocity to dine at Brooks' without getting chili on something. Brooks' World Famous Chili is even being sold at your local Harris Teeter... that's how important this stuff is. So after a few minutes of waiting and looking around, we realized just how much Brooks' reminded us of our favorite burger joint in Lynchburg "Texas Inn" aka the "T" Room. The rustic, authentic, local, anti-glamour type of foodie hangout that makes non-locals easy to point out. Then we got our food and headed outside to find out if Brooks' was all hype.. or whether or not locals had been on to something for the last few decades. Brooks' lacks a lot of the creature comforts traditional to most restaurants but it doesn't seem to damper anybody's craving for their mouthwatering and handcrafted burgers. We walked outside and quickly realized we had four options 1- Bring the food home 2 - Eat in our car 3 - Eat on our car 4 - Eat at the long wooden table in the shade It was an absolutely beautiful day so we chose to take full advantage of the quality lighting and setup on the hood of our super fancy Pontiac Grand Am. To say the food looked too good to take pictures would be an understatement. All I could think of was how quickly I wanted to get the photos out of the way so my teeth could sink deep into the handcrafted and perfectly cooked hamburger patty topped with cheese, bacon, onions, chili, and mustard. Love at first bite is the best way to describe our experience at Brooks'. After a few minutes of the HOT.. HOT.. HOT sun beating down on us we sought out refuge in the shade and relocated our grub to the long wooden table behind the restaurant. After consuming every last bite and taking a long hard look from an outsiders perspective of the restaurant and the claim of being "Home of the World's Best Burger"... we decided it fell a little shy of the high expectation we had at the beginning. Located off freedom and looked a bit sketching but nothing too bad. Greeted immediately, and the cashier was super nice and efficient. The seafood boil does get served in a to go box. Any entree you order does get put automatically in a to go container, no other option. Since it was put in a container, the spices and mixes do not mix well. We also had to order more old bay because there was barely enough and not enough flavor. It does come with corn, potato, sausage, and shrimp. We also added 2 crab leg clusters. It definitely was not my favorite as I like to order the ones in a bag so it all mixes well. Either way, it was tasty and ended up eating it. They have a variety of other menu items that look delicious. The fish was delicious and very flavorful. The rice did lack flavor, though, but we added some spices and pepper and definitely brought the flavor up. Overall, it's not a bad experience, and if I'm ever in the area, I will definitely come back and try some other items.

In my whole life. My husband got 2 half sandwiches and they were both great. If we lived closer we would be here allllllll the timmmmeeeee. The mixed ceviche(shrimp & white fish) was one of the best in Charlotte. Equally good were the Shrimp Chaufa(Peruvian fried rice) & Tallerin(Noodles). We also got the Cuban fried rice, amazing, so much flavor. Only quarrel I had w it is there was a bit too much sauce dribbled on top but that’s a personal thing for sure. Just about the only thing that lacked flavor was the quinoa salad but once we added some salsa from our Arepas from it it was perfect. I believe my cocktail was the heat wave, VERY SPICY which I loved bc usually when a cocktail is suppose to be spicy it doesn’t live up but this one definitely did, and it was cute!! If we weren’t just visiting I’d be here all the time.

We went here for lunch one day since it’s close to our office. The seating area inside is large enough to handle the busy hours. They’ve a wide selection ranging from cold cut sandwiches to cheese burgers, cheese steaks and pita breads. They’ve desserts such as brownies, banana pudding and cheesecakes, and drinks as well. We got the crispy chicken pita and the veggie pita along with a soda and a side of cheese fries(without the beef). The crispy chicken was quite delicious, and just the right amount of juicy. We appreciated how well-cooked it was. The veggie pita had a decent amount of vegetables in it as well. The fries definitely checked the box for guilty pleasure. We loved how fresh it all tasted. As a newbie to Charlotte, I love finding spots like these that seem underrated and still pack a punch when it comes to food and service. The service was quite prompt and polite. This spot is located in the heart of downtown Charlotte. Exactly one block away from center city. It sits on Tryon Street so parking is very limited. Well lit, nice and clean, and no loud background music playing.
