It was a 2 hour drive over and was worth every minute! 4.5 hours, 12 courses and 7 wines. Could not fault a single mouthful. Drinks on the terrace to start was a lovely touch. Dan has done an excellent job pairing the wines, I don’t usually like dessert wines but the last two were particularly beautiful. Fantastic atmosphere. Alex was really friendly and chatty and even brought us extra snacks because they were just so good! The mushroom dish was a stunning stand out in a delicious tasting menu. Treated my brother to a fine dining night out and was not disappointed. From the moment of arrival to leaving feeling full and sleepy it was just perfect. The £20 express dining menu is really good value for money. Although, we undoubtedly spent more than that as we wanted to try more than two dishes each. It was still really good value for money as these dishes have had a lot of thought and effort put into them. Each dish was meticulously presented and served to us as/when they were ready, as you'd expect in a tapas restaurant. The mushroom bulgogi dish was by far the most enjoyable dish with a twist. The desserts was delicious as well. I highly recommend the panna cotta. Yummy! Amazing food, great ambience and wonderful service!

Every single dish was delicious and packed with flavour, particular shout out goes to the spring greens, my taste buds were dancing. From front of house to kitchen, our day was flawless. We were treated to an upgrade and sat in the kitchen with Megan "pastry chef" she was warm and welcoming. We chose the tasting menu and the wine to accompany the meal. Wow it was absolutely amazing. The service was incredible, the staff are so attentive and knowledgeable. It’s a little hidden gem of a place with such flavourful and perfect plant based food. It is always well worth the visit and our absolute favourite is the baked Camembert which has a different twist every time it’s on the menu. The balsamic caviar we had last night was amazing on the salad and the chocolate and roast hazelnut dessert was too beautiful to eat and not overly sweet. The English Halfpenny wine is also a massive hit with us and has such a great flavour it has really put British wines on the map for us. We took my parents here for mums birthday and they thoroughly enjoyed their food so much that they’d love to come back. They are meat eaters and were certainly not disappointed by the lack of yucky flesh on their plate in any way!! High fives guys.

I met up with a few friends for lunch here. I love tapas, so any chance to sample a place like that is a treat. This one is a classic example of city-centre hipster-chic fusion-food. We'd booked, so there was no queue, and it's a good job too because the place was pretty busy. The food was good, and there was a nice range available. One of our party is gluten-free, so it's always nice to have a place that's got options. Unfortunately, one of our dishes was completely missed by the staff, which isn't ideal, hence only 3-stars for service.

Booking process was all good, good comms and nice friendly staff on arrival. In order to assist future guests to make an informed decision about the hotel, I have shared my personal experience and listed both the positive and the not so positive points of the hotel and my stay. Good Points: • Location is simply fantastic- just off the city centre, away from all the buses and bus slow, but literally a few minutes walk into the centre • Lovely garden view, with amazing elevated views across the park • Amazing water pressure in the bathrooms, filled the bath so quickly - probably the best I’ve ever experienced! Also made for a great shower in the mornings • Massive bath, full length for a good long soak - brilliant • Lovely large fluffy towels, smelled nice and fresh • Individual controlled heating control. No air con, which would be an issue in the summer, but very effective heating control for the time of my stay Not so great points: • Noise from doors, the hotel is really showing its age and this is most noticeable with the fact that all the individual room doors make a heck of a noise when closed. No soft close here I’m afraid. Around 3:00 PM onwards, the noise is pretty much continuous. I counted on average 15 x noisy door slams for each half hour period. Approximately one every 2 x minutes or so, continuously! The noise did stop once everyone was in bed, but then sadly started again early 7:00am ish again the next morning. Such a shame, as otherwise the hotel is actually really lovely and quiet, which considering is city centre location is pretty amazing. Ending up seeing est plugs whilst I was ever in the room, to drown out the continuous thud- but could still hear the noise with ear high speciation silicone ear plugs on, rated to 30 decibels • Noise from the cleaners, my room number 2 seemed to be where the cleaners congratulated in the mornings. They would literally sit on the floor outside my room, folding sheets and laundry stuff, whilst talking loudly and laughing - incredibly noisy and absolutely no chance of any sleep. The laundry cupboard was also located directly popper my room and it was constantly being opened and banging noises down the cleaners. From what I can gather garden rooms 1-4 will all be affected by this noise • Very badly stained carpets in the room, not nice at all. Need a good clean at the very least and probably a few years past needing to be replaced in my opinion • Old and chipped fixtures - very dated banged about fittings • Unfortunately for purpose clear frosted glass panels on the bathroom sliding door, which meant that the whole room was flooded with light, despite having the curtains and blinds in the room closed. Completely useless and a fire example of the extremely poor design of the hotels • No working extraction in the bathroom, resulting in lots of steam and unable to use the bathroom mirror • Mould on the grout lines to the shower area, needs re grouting • Tiny small room, couldn’t even do my yoga. Easily the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Just about functional but far too small • Awful motorway service station quality loo roll! No excuse on this one, come on guys an extra 50p a booking for proper loo roll! In summary, great location hotel, but sadly the hotel is really showing its age now. Simply not acceptable at this price point, you would be better off and the Premier Inn across the road. There are many design floors and it is as if no thought event went into the design and everyday use of the hotel. I would suggest that the owner or one of the managers actually try and stay a night in the hotel and they will very quickly become fully aware of its many and significant short comings I do hope that the hotel make some of the much needed improvements and address some of the issues, but alas for me, my stay really wasn’t a great experience and I would struggle to rate the hotel any higher than a disappointing 4 out of 10.

The first time I had a really excellent veggie breakfast and the setting is lovely, so I thought it would be an ideal place to catch up with another friend over lunch. Staff were very helpful with dietary requirements and on paper the 'afternoon cheese' sounded delightful. However what we actually received was just super disappointing. The scones for example were tiny, about the diameter of a 50p coin, perhaps slightly bigger. I would have expected at least the savoury scones to be full sized. I have attached a photo of the afternoon cheese before we touched it so that you can appreciate just how stingy it was for £40, for the portion size £25 would have been more appropriate but I still would have been disappointed to leave hungry. You can't see the tiny thin crackers, the meat or the little pot of chutney we got due to the angle but they were equally disappointing in portion size. Would have preferred to still pay £40 and honestly get twice as much food. The food was tasty. I'll probably give Delilah's one more go as this may just have been a bad day. If you're not going in to actually eat there, the delicatessen is worth a visit anyway.

Portions are tiny here as they are in most fine-dining restaurants. The only thing we did not like was the concept of service charge. It was a good experience. The food is pretty good, but not super satisfied for the price I paid for it. We ordered from the fixed price menu and for my starter I ordered the velouté soup, which I found to be the best part of the entire meal. The sort of meal you don’t want to finish as then it ends! I found it extremely disrespectful as first of all she lied to us about needing the table for a party of 4 and second of all why could this couple sit there but we couldn’t? She also came to collect our orders after literally 2 minutes and when I said can we have 5 more minutes she looked mad and didn’t approach us again until I called her over. Then I saw the waitress laughing about a guest to her college I’m not sure if it was me or someone else but as soon as I looked over at them she stopped and pretend to be working. This honestly destroyed the whole mood and atmosphere for me and I think she could see that I was frustrated and in a bad mood so she wrote that note on the receipt, still expecting us to tip her. Honestly the food wasn’t bad but not with the price as we paid 50 pounds for a started and two hamburgers with coke but what really destroyed the experience for me was the unprofessionalism of the waitress. The food was amazing. Massive props to the chefs. We had the goulash, ratatouille with cod, Parisian eggs, sourdough bread and butter, salami, and then waffles for desert. It was all delicious. The goulash was so good, and especially the sourdough was amazing. The crust was insanely crispy but the inside was equally soft and fluffy. The only thing I'd bring up negatively is the cod being slightly oversalted. The service was great, there was only one person working at the front of house but she was always very nice and proactive. The atmosphere was a little off at the start, but that may have also been because of the window sitting being awkward during daylight, but as the sun went down and it became dark outside it improved immensely. I'd definetely recommend booking a table after dusk. The value for money is great too. Including a 15% tip, we paid around £77 for all of our food and left deeply satisfied but not bursting. The quality of the food makes every peny worth it. We didn't try any of the alcoholic beverages, but we enjoyed the German Cola they sell. Overall I would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat. It was an amazing night with amazing food. I really recommend anyone going to use the opportunity and try new things, and not be afraid to ask what a dish name means. The experience is also made better by leaning into the idea of ordering multiple small plates and combining them. We like to go somewhere that you are guaranteed great quality food with great service at a very reasonable price. This gem has been hidden since 1982. A family owned bar and bistro housed in a beautifully restored railway station. Food was very good - loved the duck spring rolls starter, which we both had (hoisin sauce maybe next time?). My wife had sea bass which was superb, and I went for battered haddock, chips and pea puree, which was lovely, the only small criticism I have was the battered haddock came with a load of salt crystals scattered on top, which, because the batter was hot and slightly tacky, it was difficult to remove all the salt so I had to discard a few pieces of the delicious batter. Surely you could leave extra seasoning to the customer? Otherwise, a really, really lovely lunch, and yes we will for sure come back - and not leave it so long next time (long time before was because I moved to London then abroad).

As there were 4 of us we decided for special set menu so we could try different dishes. There were plenty of them and all were very tasty. Teriyaki Chicken Skewers and Chilli Shredded Peking Beef were my top dishes. There's great selection of dishes in the traditional menu. Also, wine card looks pretty good too! The food was served within less than 20 minutes despite it was busy. Tha staff was very friendly and accommodating, professional, attentive and helpful. There are plenty of tables inside and some available outside too. Toilets are situated upstairs but there is also one available downstairs. The restaurant is situated in heart of West Bridgford, it's family friendly place. Live music on Fridays which is a plus.

Be warned! So, we recently had our wedding reception here but have also eaten here prior to this. General restaurant (1st floor) is lovely, high ceilings with glass chandeliers and great service. Bar area is on the ground floor and a lovely open space. Events: We held our wedding reception at the cosy club (meal and then evening). Overall, it was perfect! Starting with a really reasonable pricing point for what we wanted and they offered us lots of options to keep the cost as low or high as we wanted. We opted for bacon cobs and fries in the evening which they were more than happy to accommodate. The meal was lovely, we chose on the day from the party menu (again, lots of menu options but we preferred this menu from them all). It was 2-1 cocktails when we arrived, so everyone was naturally straight on this...this did cause some delays in service. My biggest concern through the whole process was communication. Getting in touch with the event planner was extremely hard, emails and no answers. On our actual wedding day it didn't seem like anything that we discussed in the final meeting was then given to staff to work from. Communication definitely needs to be better.
