It’s probably more expensive than you’d pay at somewhere like spoons, but it’s definitely more fresh, and in a nicer environment. The staff were all young but seemed to work well as a team and all dipped in to help in each order. On this visit we got an americano, a passionfruit smoothie, a veggie breakfast, and a maple bacon pancake stack. I couldn’t finish my pancake stack as it was so big, but every bite I had was super tasty and had some really juicy sweet fruit with it too, plus the smoothie was made fresh while we sat enjoying the peace before the morning rush. My partner really enjoyed his veggie breakfast, and said the coffee was good quality too. The additionals (sugar, sauce, napkins) were all self serve and easy to reach. The only negative was that the food did take a while to come out, but it’s only a partial negative as when it did come we knew it was hot and fresh. They go above and beyond, whether it’s keeping an eye on your laptop while you nip to the bathroom or bringing coffee to your table so you don’t have to wait around. The coffee is excellent, and the food is spot on – I had a BLT with root vegetable soup, and both were made with high-quality ingredients and tasted delicious. I will say that the staff were absolutely amazing for helping out my wife order food, taking into account her allergies. They were able to direct us to what was available to her and make suitable amendments with confidence. The food arrived quickly and we all ate together. The food was fine. Most of what was on the plate was just about warm, having been precooked and stored for quick service. Not only that, but modt items on the plate were slightly bland. For the price, there was very little that stood out as exciting or tasty. While its out of my price range for going every week, the experience is something that will make us return at some point. One thing I noticed first off was how good they are to accommodate families despite the less room in the restaurant. Also how the accept special needs - had a few bad experiences taking my son out for meals. The food is made for your order so its hot fresh and well made. The burger I ordered I couldnt finish, napkin job for my dogs once home! My son on the other hand had been playing out all day so he finished his! He wanted a dessert but the waffle was far too big for him, I tried that, wasn't how I remembered waffles as a kid, so a little disappointed. Be warned! So, we recently had our wedding reception here but have also eaten here prior to this. General restaurant (1st floor) is lovely, high ceilings with glass chandeliers and great service. Bar area is on the ground floor and a lovely open space. Events: We held our wedding reception at the cosy club (meal and then evening). Overall, it was perfect! Starting with a really reasonable pricing point for what we wanted and they offered us lots of options to keep the cost as low or high as we wanted. The meal was lovely, we chose on the day from the party menu (again, lots of menu options but we preferred this menu from them all). Getting in touch with the event planner was extremely hard, emails and no answers. The Reese's peanut butter taste was barely present and it merely came across as a glorified vanilla milkshake. On top of that went to toilet to find a cubicle with sick in it and considering I saw a staff member use the toilets you would expect them to be checked not what you want to see in a restaurant. We had the Grilled Halloumi Bites and Guac' Lovers for starters, Jambalaya and Barbacoa Beef Buritto for our mains and Sweet Potato fries and Mexican corn for our sides with Arizona Peach Tea for drinks alongside a kids meal of Mozzarella and Chorizo Pizza, rice and sunflower sweetcorn for the little one. The atmosphere was great and all the food was really good. The drinks and starters arrived almost instantly alongside the kids main meal, however there was a delay with the two adult main meals and the sides. We unfortunately weren't too happy about that as we were both hungry and the little one already managed to finish their food whilst we were still waiting for ours to arrive. Once we asked one of the servers about how much longer we'd have to wait for our food to arrive he instantly went to find out and came back to let us know the wait time along some complementary drinks to compensate for the wait which we were quite happy about as we already finished our drinks waiting for our main meal with the food following not long after. It's understandable that mistakes are made and the wait can be quite long sometimes but the staff handled the situation to perfection and the food was amazing. It's now been a few hours since our visit and I am still full from the feast, would 100% recommend this place.

The pub was empty yet the food took ages, when the 6 meals arrived it was a combination of dried out, over cooked and cold food. So disappointed! I was in Nottingham for a few days and just kept returning here with pals, so o got to see some of the highlights and try a number of things. The Char Kway Teow and the Nasi Goreng were both crammed with giant king prawns, the chicken satay was rich and nutty, the Hainanese chicken rice was really succulent, and the rice was fragrant and savoury. The Nasi Lemak was described as "a BIG chicken leg" and arrived exactly as promised, with crispy skin. I completed the week with the braised aubergine with pork in a chilli garlic sauce, and it was brilliant as well - massive portion, deep savoury flavours. I'd recommend this place to anyone, and will definitely return the next time I'm in town.

The owner and staff are so lovely and bend over backwards for you (understandably less so when it is busy on a Friday and Saturday) and are even dog friendly which we didn’t expect, and always give our dog a treat when we come in! The atmosphere and decor are quite no frills but in the best possible way, very family ran diner style. It reminds me a bit of Midnight Diner or local Japanese eateries. Cutlery trays of chopsticks, forks and knives, napkins and condiments on each table and water dispensers by the counter etc. The food is absolutely outstanding, some of the most authentic Asian food in Nottingham. The owners are Malaysian so their Malaysian food is soooo good and pretty hard to find in the UK! Their sushi is also very good, comparable to other more expensive Japanese restaurants. My friends and I have been working our way through the menu, there’s not much we haven’t tried now! As well as authentic Chinese, Malaysian and other Asian food, they also have an entire separate menu of British Chinese food like sweet and sour tofu, beef in black bean sauce etc. They took over from the previous greasy spoon cafe and kept the name, as well as the English cafe style food like omelette, full English breakfast etc. I’ve never tried this stuff, give me the sushi, rendang curry and steamed fish!!! Some of our favourite dishes are the sushi platters, braised aubergine in chilli and garlic sauce, white fish in pickled Chinese greens soup (way tastier than the description!), mapo tofu, beef rendang, oyster furai, spicy beef ramen and seafood laksa! My friend’s eyes literally rolled into his head when he first tried the seafood laksa! Highly recommend to anyone, in a selfish way, I hope it doesn’t “go viral” and become way too busy! I'm not so sure there's much parking but there is parking on nearby streets available. The soup was really hot. I remember it having coconut in it, but I don't recall what the flavour actually was. It is absolutely filthy. Floor is covered in grime, dirt and old food, chairs dusty and grimy I didn’t want to sit on them. The toilets clearly aren’t cleaned regularly as every one has poo on the sides. My group were the only group in here, which was suprising at first but understandable. Being the only people in a bar on a Friday night really shows something is seriously wrong. The charcuterie board was nice, a bit pricey, but I didn’t want to eat it as the pub is so dirty I don’t want to think what the kitchens like. Very welcoming place, you can see that there is regulars and i dont blame them for returning.I had the medium size breakfast,added black pudding and mushrooms. I get sick and tired of half a grilled tomato on a breakfast(what is that all about) so it was nice to get proper tinned tomatoes on a breakfast for a change. The room was well presented, clean and set out in a horseshoe so guests had no problem interacting with each other. Our main waitress was Isobel, and she was lovely and very attentive. I ordered pancakes while my daughter ordered the deluxe hot chocolate plus 2 drinks. When ordering I asked for the food to come together. First to arrive was the pancakes and when I said we wanted our items at the same time just got told it’s done now it was ready faster. I could have maybe understood it a little if it was busy but it was not and I asked when ordering to have together I’d almost finished mine by the time my daughter got hers. It’s not exactly cheap to eat in this place so would be nice if they got things right. Our drinks which was a glass water (which we had to ask for again) and milkshake arrived when I’d nearly finished. For the price paid would have expected better.
