My favorite aspect of the park is the rubber grounds, my son's and I hate tanbark. Plus we forgot Noe Noes shoes, so rubber grounds are safe for 1 year olds granted its overcast. ☁️ highly recommend coming and checking this one out.

There are dinosaurs and dinosaur bones throughout the play area and the coolest sandbox I have seen outside of being on the beach. The play equipment is in excellent condition, and as you will see from my photos/videos, unique pieces of play equipment too! It looked like the children were having a blast! Playgrounds have sure evolved since I was a kid, that's for sure! This 5-acre neighborhood park also has picnic tables and benches throughout. There is a covered gazebo; perfect for birthday parties, nice paved walking trails that encircle the park, a basketball court, large open green spaces great for a variety of activities, a space age bathroom, like the ones you will find at the Vancouver Waterfront Park, and beautiful mature fir trees as well as other colorful landscape along the walking trail. This park was quite crowded when I went (weekday), but honestly, I can see why. The parking spaces are scarce, but there is extra parking available just a short block away at Columbia Valley Elementary School outside of school hours. This is a great park, and it is definitely worthy of 5 stars. Do come check it out for yourself; I highly doubt you will be disappointed. 👍🏼

You can pretty much walk anywhere downtown from here. It's changed a lot. It's a good place to walk the trails, or walk your dog, or take a bike ride. Come in the evening if you really want to get some peace and quiet. You can get some amazing sunsets here, and you can see lots of birds like red wing blackbirds, killdeer, mourning doves, rabbits, and ducks. The trails are really nice. However. calling it a park is an over statement. I think there are only 2 picnic tables. This is a beach on the Columbia River on a very steep slope. It is very difficult to walk uphill in the hot sand carrying your belongings when you're leaving so if you have any ankle, knee, hip or back problems I recommend not going all the way down to the river. There are bathrooms that are open seasonally at the end of the small parking lot. The whole lot is rather small holding about 50-60? cars. This is NOT a place to swim. There's a sudden drop off that leaves you directly in the rivers current and open to the under tow. This is fine for wading, making sandcastles, splashing and picking up clams and shells but watch your children closely. There's very little shade so if your going early or during weekdays you're more likely to get a good spot. There is seriously no bad time to go. The Waterfront Renaissance Trail is off the north bank of the Columbia River and is truly picturesque! It is a 5 mile one way paved trail, so it is excellent for walking, jogging, biking, and so much more! You can vere off the main trail, like I always do, and hike along the sandy beaches of the river, which are lined with driftwood and colorful river rocks. As you walk this trail, you will come across several restaurants and shopping areas, too, because it is close proximity to downtown Vancouver. In fact, some of the most fascinating eateries in Vancouver can be found here. The options are endless. Ducks and geese can be seen in abundance, as you will be able to see from my photos/videos. Planes fly overhead consistently; getting ready to land at Portland International Airport, so they will be flying both low and slow. There is also a train track across the street from the Renaissance Trail, so if you have young children, they will just love this! And the sunsets... The sunsets here are seriously a photographers dream! The sun setting over the river is a sight to behold! It's actually my favorite spot to watch the sun set. If that were not enough to peak your interests, on a clear day, you will get the most magnificent views of Mt. Hood! I consider this area a slice of heaven, so I highly recommend checking it out for yourself. It is not crowded, so if you are in need of some serenity, you will find it here. There are benches throughout the trail that allow you to soak in the scenery. There truly is something for all ages. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

The Heron trail has some construction going on, but there is a detour you can take. Not a difficult hike compared to what you can do around the Portland area, but still a little bit of a workout going up and down the incline. We didn't have time to do the other two trails so I can't report on those yet. The hatchery is so cool. From the top platform looking down it looks like the tanks are just empty water until you get up close and see the massive number of tiny fish. The one pond where you can feed trout made me feel like an excited kid again. Overall very happy with our visit and wish I had planned more time here!

For starters it is massive, and bordered by tree groves and a place in the center of the park also has tall majestic trees. This park is only a 3 minute drive from my house, and being fairly new to the area, I have been trying to hit every park around here. This one so far is my favorite. What a huge park that is located so conveniently close to I-5 for travelers passing through. I love the diversity of this dog park. It has both a large breed section and a small breed section. The small breed section is typical and not uncommon to other small breed sections of fenced dog parks in the Portland/Vancouver area. The large breed section of the park, however, is enormous and diverse. And there are two entrances to the large breed section. The main entrance and parking lot being located near the south west corner. And the second dual gate entrance located at the very north end of the park with minimal parking. The main park has a wide open field on the south section with a small grade while walking north, the dog park trail heads up a nice steep hill into a open, but wooded shaded area that looks down on the wide open field that you came from. Continuing to walk north in the shade the park narrows to a roughly 50 foot wide section, and then opens back up again into what feels like a second dog park even though this entire area, both north and south are congruently linked together with out a segregation fence. The north section has benches, steep little hills and lots of geographical diversity for the pups to run around in. This is also where another dual gate entrance point to the park is located.
