The shops use to be full of beautiful, hand crafted, unique items and I always looked forward to coming and finding something different for gifts. It’s now so disappointing. Cant even express how disappointing and sad it is so see an iconic location like this, in this state. I hope someone is able to restore it back to its glory days. Amenities are quite run down. Landscaping seems not cared for. While there are quite a few stores vacant, there are those that are long time stalwarts, with standouts for us being the General Store, Ronnie's Cafe, the Toy Store, and a quaint little gift shop my duaghter calls the Fairy Store. Disappointed that the cosy country-style cafe has changed so much. Really a shadow of its former self. The village itself needs some TLC to bring it back to its glory days.

The $48 prawn linguine came with gigantic portion size, I think they should think about reducing the portion size (can feed 3) and get the price down a bit. We ended up waiting half of it. Gonna say the gnocchi is the best of all, gnocchi was fried/pan fried a bit so it gives the gnocchi a bit more texture. Drink wise we chose apple juice ($8) and cold brew. For an $8 apple juice I hope it’s freshly squeezed but if just from the packed juices I think. We sat there for 2 hours and 1 hour and a half was waiting for our food to come… we asked the staff to chase up the food for us but the staff told us they are busy on weekends. Just note they charge 10% surcharge for weekends, I don’t get why the speed is still slow when a surcharge is charged on weekends already.

It gets extremely busy so you probably should book, especially if you want to sit inside where it is a bit cooler, outside during the day can be warm and the flyers annoying. One thing you absolutely need to be aware of is the portion size which is generally huge. Each male we had whether it be appetiser or mine could comfortably be shared amongst two or three people. The food quality is also excellent and the price for what you get is outstanding. The menu is really comprehensive and despite being low season where other restaurants have cut their menus in half this is super busy and you have endless choices. We had lunch and it was amazing and planned to go back for dinner at least before we leave.

We accidentally wounded up here thinking this was the muse restaurant. It was a nice surprise. The location is beautiful and if you have little kids this is a great place since there’s a lovely garden for them to just hang out whilst you enjoy your meal. The service was professional and welcoming. We did have to wait for 20 minutes to be seated despite having a booking. But it was a nice surrounding and we didn’t mind hanging outside. The seating could be more comfortable given the price of the menu and the elegance they are trying to bring to the table. The garden chairs outside are quite uncomfortable to sit over a 3 course meal. As for the food a few things were exceptionally delicious but the rest were just above average. We did think the presentation on the lamb and the fish Kiev could do better. Although I’ve give 4* I think they can up their game a bit more to deserve that. But definitely above 3* based in our experience.

We booked for 12 pm time slot. Food: we tried the two course and three course menu. It was really delicious from start to finish. The plating was beautiful and good serving. What surprised me was some people came wearing thongs and muscle top but they didn’t mind that. So I guess it’s a pretty relaxed atmosphere. We dropped in for a beer tasting and it was the worst tasting paddle I've ever had at any brewery, ever. My four beers were: Pineapple Sour Blood Orange NEIPA Chocolate Milk Porter Extra Stout The pineapple sour was top 3 of the worst things that ive ever tasted, waaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy too sweet, sickly sweet and sour but in a nasty way. I've tried dozens of amazing sour beers from the best like wildflower and others and this one tasted like the first attempt by a homebrewer who didn't have a clue what they were doing 0.2/10 The blood orange NEIPA was awful as well and undrinkable, it had a weird taste and tasted nothing like blood orange. If you've ever had Daintons blood orange NEIPA you will be deeply dissapointed here 1/10. The choc milk stout was gross and tasted like literal chocolate milk had been mixed with beer 1/10. And lastly the extra stout which was barrel aged was smoky, I didn't realise it was smoky when I ordered it and didn't see smoke mentioned in the description. I don't totally hate smoked beers but this one was bad, it smelled like an old nasty camp fire and left an after-taste like I'd been drinking liquid ash, yuk 0.3/10. I even tried mixing the pineapple sour with the NEIPA but it just ruined both even more. We definitely won't ever be going back here as to be brutally honest, if you can make even half decent drinkable beers after being in business for several years than it's obvious you either don't know what your doing, or you can't divorce the gimmicky spirit distilling side from your brewery and therefore can't just make simple enjoyable beers so with that I'd say this place isn't even a real brewery but a gimmicky gin/vodka/passion pop producer masquerading as one to try and please the "blokes"

All the cellar doors are great in the Hunter but I just love that a visit here allows me to try wines from a number of different wineries. With so many different varieties, it’s great and you feel like you’ve done the whole Hunter. Great central location and the tasting room has a great atmosphere and is in a beautiful spot with bushland surrounding. Add it to your Hunter itinerary, you won’t regret it!!

It has a real 'country club' vibe and every little detail was immaculate. Did the wine tasting (8 wines) and we liked 2-3 of them. This could be down to personal preference, and we definitely don't claim to have the most sophisticated palate. Biggest let down though was the service which really impacted the overall experience. The staff were more interested in chatting with each other. Whereas at other cellar doors we've been to, everyone was happy to have a genuine conversation with us as they introduced each wine. I feel this really added to the tasting experience. For full transparency we booked the last tasting session of the day so the staff may be tired by that point. However, we couldn't help but feel they were just waiting for us to leave (which we did promptly after finishing our final glass, showing ourselves out as staff were still talking amongst themselves). I would still recommend everyone to visit this place as it's simply so gorgeous, but I hope their customer engagement improves.

Put them on your bucket list if you havent already! The chicken for $16 are massive and beautifully cooked. The other thing you msut try there is the homestyle potato bake! And if you like sushi. The sushi shop is amazing too. They have wheelchair access to both disabled and parents amenities.

She kept the store open as we only got there at 4pm and then reopened the store early the next day to accommodate. We were in the Hunter for a weekend and stumbled across this shop. Our grandma hasn't been able to find an alpaca wool cardigan in her size (XL) for ages, especially given she's unable to travel anymore. Annie walked us through all the available styles and allowed us to take photos and measurements so our grandma could choose. The next day we returned with a shortlist and true to her word, she had opened the store early. While the shop didn't have the particular style in XL, she directed us to the Hunter Valley Gardens shop where we were able to make a purchase. We walked in to the Peppers Creek store today looking for gifts to take home. The coldest rudest welcome I have ever had. The woman was serving a customer putting a sale through and stopped to march over and stare at us, like she thought we were stealing or something. So unnecessary. Way to alienate any potential customers away from even thinking about purchasing from your store. Even though the customer service was terrible. The products here were of extremely high quality.
