I want to share a very important suggestion that is for those of us that pay the $26+ for our meal I say we should be able to bag the initial order that’s left on the tray but anything extra for the all you can eat is a no, no! It would be so much easier for the restaurant to prevent waste and us as customers would love love love to take our leftovers home to enjoy another meal at home. We hate throwing good food out I know you know we’ve heard the cliche many times about starving people not only here in the USA also elsewhere. This will not only help maintain our clean conscience and needless waste I really hope you take me up on this suggestion it will benefit all-really!!! My kids also love the snack and candy aisle and beg to pick up the chocolate milk every time we go. I ended up leaving to go to my car to process … the came around my car were yelling at me then left a trash bag with my two belongings I left behind on top of my hood, and left. I saw the bag and bawled … What? They never called me… 🥹what would’ve happened if I didn’t return? They would’ve thrown my things out. So disrespectful!! I ended up canceling the second stay and sleeping in my car instead. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend staying here. While the first impression seemed fine, the follow up behavior was aggressive, unprofessional, and unsettling. I would be cautious getting into a trust contract with someone who runs their business like this.

Our buggy driver took us out of the downtown area of Shipshewana and onto the backroads, telling us about the history of the area. Then we arrived at a dairy farm and got to experience feeding a baby calf, then milking a cow and drinking fresh cow's milk. Afterwards, there was a traditional Amish dinner at John and Elaine's farm. The food was just absolutely delicious! The chicken and meatloaf were so tasty, as was the Amish version of spaetzle. It was a wonderful evening spent experiencing a brief snippet of Amish life. Highly recommended! You'll have to call or email in advance to make reservations.

Beautiful and some unusual animals of course all around you’ll see beautiful farms, great opportunity to capture excellent photos. If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss it, 2.5 hours from Chicago on northern Indiana, it’s definitely worth the trip and I highly recommend it! Did I mentioned that this is a Amish country?

It was a lot bigger than we thought it would be. We took the wagon ride safari, which came with a large amount of feed for interacting with the animals. They had a wide variety of animals to feed on the safari and an area where you could get into the enclosures with animals, to feed and pet them. There was a petting area with goats and you can let your kids ride horses/ponies, although they were just walking in a circle. Small gift shop with some stuffed animals and souvenirs. My grandkids each got a porcupine quill. This is definitely an Amish owned and run business. Everyone that worked there was great, especially the older gentleman that drove the wagon for the safari.
