It’s been a long time since I’ve been wholly impressed by a restaurant. Every single thing about this place was amazing. Service, ambiance, food were all 10/10. There is not one complaint to be made. The hostess who sat us was so sweet and very accommodating to our large stroller for our son. Our server Daniel had what could only be best described as charisma, he was not over the top pushy yet was still completely attentive and subtly funny. It felt like we had an inside joke with him (over what I can’t tell you but it’s like we had our friend serving us). He checked in just enough that we didn’t feel neglected but also never felt over bothered. On top of that when we sat down it seemed the whole restaurant did as well. But the staff didn’t let us see them sweat. Honestly we were so shocked to see how cohesive they moved to get tables serviced. If you’re wondering no we have no personal connection. We are simply on a family road trip and we always stay in Saint Augustine. Can’t believe this is our first time here because pretty sure it’s the only restaurant we’re going to eat at when we visit.

My anticipation was high and I was ready to throw down a massive tab in oysters and beer with no shame. ...There are 2 TV's at the bar playing the same oldy Halloween movie I've never seen or heard of. Frankly, it seems that i wasn't the only person disinterested because throughout the restaurant all of ZERO patrons were paying attention to this important Halloween movie that had to be played the day after Halloween in a 10% occupied restaurant. Meanwhile, I came in decked out in Florida game day attire with a bright eyes and a bushy tail. I asked the nice bartender if she could turn on the BIGGEST GAME in NE Florida a.k.a. the LARGEST cocktail part in America a.k.a. FLORIDA vs GEORGIA. I was met with a hesitant yet rehearsed response "Football is only played on Sundays". I looked around at other people Florida/Georgia game day attire and said no problem, then went to Candlelight to enjoy some wings in a more traditional sports bar. I get it. Boat Drinks isn't a sports bar. But come on man... KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE. I would be willing to bet that they got plenty of phone calls that day asking if they were playing the game. Actually... no they wouldn't have because their phone system doesn't work. I am more than willing come in again for a take 5 and take down this review based on a full experience. I checked out the photos and everything looked really good so we stopped in while in town. Came at around 7 PM on a Friday and they were a little busy. The whole outdoor patio was full but there was barely anyone inside. The lady at the counter was friendly. I got the special clam chowder fries. Overall, I was blown away! The fries were crispy and hot and the chowder had some great flavor! All around, I was impressed! Overall, a great experience at DJ’s. If you’re in St. Augustine, it’s worth a stop! I’ll be back.
