I had a great experience and would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Gangtok. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was soft and cosy, and the bathroom was super clean. The property is just 10 minutes of walk from the MG Marg and located at the memorable road. Overall surrounding is beautiful with lot of trees, cafes and restaurants. The colour theme, name of the rooms, design of the photo frames are all done with utmost care and love to provide the best place to guests. I would like to wake up there in the morning and have a cup of warm Tea while overlooking at the City from the balcony. And in the evening I could spend hours there while gazing at the stars below feeling the cool breeze! Michelle has been an amazing host and has a great entrepreneurial acumen. She takes care of her guests minutely. Someone can easily understands the warmth and the hospitality she provides seeing at other guests. He told us he treats kids like his own and ensures their food need is fulfilled, but if the party does not take meal from the hotel- the only option they have is rice and dal boiled, at max a boiled egg- not even alu bhaji or boiled alu can be made available for a 2.5 yrs kid. Aesthetic rooms, kind care takers and an extremely helpful landlord. We had booked two rooms under two separate booking IDs and confirmed everything with the host as early as November 3. However, on the very day of our arrival, the host canceled one of our confirmed rooms because they received another booking at a higher rate. To make matters worse, the host tried to shift the blame on me, claiming they had emailed me on December 27 about the cancellation and didn’t receive a response. They even tried recording my voice during our conversation to fabricate proof that it was my fault. Thankfully, I have screenshots of the confirmation that clearly show otherwise. The stay itself was far from satisfactory. The bed linens and comforters were filthy, and I developed rashes on the second day. When I requested a clean comforter, they flatly refused to provide one. The facilities were not worth the price at all. While the rooms were spacious and there was a kitchen, these small positives are overshadowed by the lack of basic hygiene, professionalism, and customer care. If you’re planning a vacation in Gangtok, I strongly recommend looking for a proper hotel with reliable facilities. One of towels provided in rooms was in torned condition poorly maintained wooden cupboard only 1 towel provided in room later we asked for one more.They suppose to provide us a candle light dinner on 23rd May'19 which they unable to manage as we are tired in sightseeing journey we told manager Vijay to arrange the same quickly he told that until all guest complete meal there he will unable to arrange the candle light dinner.As we are tired I told him to get it arranged at my room only he said fine and still provided the food 1 hour late by a server.I was assuming that they will bring candle and give us the feel in my room only,but no candle no wishes from the manager just food sent to the room and that also as said earlier very average tasting food. my thoughts of having candle feel all gone in toss.

We took 3 rooms at Mintokling. All the rooms had a fantastic view of the lawn. The have a beautiful entrance leading down to the guest house. The path way is lined with lovely plants. It gives to the feeling of being in a jungle retreat in the heart of the city. The owners have maintained a beautiful garden with seasonal flowers. On a clear day one can see the mountain peaks from the garden. The rooms are simple and neat clean. The service was very good and prompt. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming. An additional bonus is that even Zomato delivers to this location. It is just a 10 minute walk from the main market. You easily get cabs from here. The only thing to keep in mind in case you are traveling with elderly people is that one has to walk about 15 odd steps from the entrance to the rooms. The kitchen of the guest house was not fully functional during our stay so we mostly ate out. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay here again.
