I Googled clothing stores near me, and this little boutique came up. It was about 20 steps away, in fact. So, clueless, I gave it a shot, without looking more into it. I wish I did! It's a very confusing store to enter. I know that sounds crazy, but I could not figure out where the main door was. It opened, and I entered a small but neatly organized boutique with racks of beautifully made, youthful, and colorful clothing. For a second, my heart skipped a beat. I thought I had found my long lost favorite store. In about 5 seconds of being inside, I realized how very, very wrong I had been. I decided to check the price tag on a blouse that was hanging on the rack right when I walked in. I wanted to get a feel for the price range of the store. My jaw didn't nearly drop, it DID drop. This place was obviously far out of my league: a whopping $500 for a casual shirt, made by an unknown brand. It seemed a little ridiculous. These clothes were totally my style. If the prices had been more reasonable, I could have spent hours trying things on. That being said, it was a store for women's casual wear. Not for evening gowns or wedding dresses or couture. Just casual daywear. The two employees were chatting amongst themselves. I was seemingly invisible. I received no greeting, no offer for assistance or to show me around. But, like me, and, I would assume for the average, sane person, going to the store in hopes of purchasing a new wardrobe would be in the same ballpark of purchasing a new Lexus. I certainly would prefer the Lexus. I will shop elsewhere for my boho style clothing. Forever 21 probably makes the same exact styles as this boutique, but they cost 1/100th of the price. I was helping my son decorate his apartment and plants always make a home warm and inviting. The Heavy is just that, warm and inviting. Meagan helped me select the perfect plants for my young, adult son who needs low maintenance plants. Not only was she helpful in choosing plants she was such a delight and so personable. My daughter was looking for prom shoes and was striking out everywhere. Morgan jumped in and offered to help right away as we came in. She was pleasant and did everything to make us feel welcome and accommodated our needs including ordering shoes in the right color and shipping them to our home. Although this wasn’t our original budget nor was it where we planned to get her shoes Morgan made the whole experience so pleasant that we decided it was worth the cost to make our daughter happy and felt good about the purchase because of Morgan. She even suggested no skid skins for the bottom of her shoes and gel inserts for the arch to make them more comfortable for her. We bought almost 20 items which took a while and the whole time there was an employee named Jariam who helped us relentlessly. Hire more people out side of that demographic because it’s clear that they all have an issue with people who are either black or black appearing g to them! Super disappointed and disgusted!!!
