In fact, all the employees smiled and spoke to us. Creole flair, cooked to order. We had fried green tomatoes (excellent) and a bowl of gumbo for appetizers, blackened chicken Alfredo and shrimp and grits for our entrees, and salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. My son said the Alfredo was the best he's ever had. The shrimp and grits was a deep fried ball of grits and Gouda sitting in a magical Creole concoction. The food really was exceptional...someone knows how to COOK in that kitchen! Lunch prices were very reasonable for the amount and caliber of the food. Decor was a little dated, but who cares?! It seemed like most patrons were locals because the employees talked to them like they knew them. We will definitely go back.

The oysters themselves were alright, the Gouda was crunchy instead of ooey gooey but the oyster itself was flavorful and well cooked. Not the place for my demographic the early day caters to retired locals and the nights by reputation implies high schoolers and college kids. I would try the Yacht Club part but would not return here.

There was a guitarist who was very good in the 1 section, the bartender we met she was super super cool nice older lady smiling and joking around with us and her personality was very warm friendly and welcoming. Im not sure if most of the people that were there was on vacation like us or locals but everyone seemed to be happy and having a great time. The steak was seasoned well but dry and overcooked, the spinach watery and tasteless but the poached eggs were cooked perfectly! My goodness are we so glad that we went! We were not very hungry but we plowed through boom boom shrimp, Sampler Oyster platter- charbroiled, Blackened jumbo shrimp, Fried Grouper bites, (the French fries are delicious BTW), and my husband had a chicken sandwich. I have to tell you. 3 out of the 4 of us absolutely love seafood, (my husband likes it but he's a chicken/burger guy), and we have had plenty of seafood in many coastal areas in many places all over the world... we absolutely thought this was one of our favorites. Our server Greg was so wonderful. He explained how everything was caught, made, and where it came from. Everything was so fresh, so flavorful, and just made to perfection. The risotto was very thick and old. Do not order! The pizza with a Balsamic “drizzle” was unusual and not tasty. Just weird flavor combinations.
