We found D. Gancho on TripAdvisor and as it was nearby and number one we decided to give it a go. We were warmly greeted and seated. Drinks were served promptly however when we tried to order pizza - the reason for choosing this restaurant in the first place - we were told they had no more pizzas. We were quite disappointed. The waiter explained that as it was a bank holiday weekend the kitchen had made plenty of pizza dough but they had been overwhelmingly busy and had run out of dough. Their dough takes two days to make apparently. We ordered tasty pasta, a salad and the infamous Porto Francesinha - a crazy sandwich with melted cheese, lots of meats, and a red sauce. Now the francesinha is not my kind of thing but in comparison to the one my husband tried when we visited Porto last year, this one my brother-in-law had was mile's better with good quality ingredients. After we had finished eating the waiter came along and moved all our plates away from the centre of the table. We had no idea what he was doing until with a smile and a surprise he delivered a pizza for us to share, and on the house! It was delicious! The meal was tasty and in a lovely venue that was buzzy yet relaxing. And to finish it all off the waiter then gave us all a glass of port. How generous and kind.

Péssima decisão 😱 Só não fui embora por respeita a menina que nos serviu super simpática e a salvação daquela miséria de restaurante. Para começar péssima ideia que tive de pedir entrada, farinha queimada e seca sem gosto nenhum. Pedi sangria e me trouxeram um sumo com álcool que parecia uma pina colada ou lá o que era aquilo.
