They like that it has a pool to keep them busy. It's a small pool, but most of the times they were there swimming they were the only ones using it. We like the inside courtyard rooms because they have the balcony for sitting out on, and to hand swimsuits and towels over the railing. If you're not traveling with kids though, you maybe wouldn't want a courtyard room so you don't hear kids in the pool all the time. I think they're slowly renovating the rooms, my parents stayed in an outside room that looked like it had been updated. Our room looked like it hadn't had anything changed since it was first built. Our bathroom had a stain in the ceiling tile, and a dingy spot on the back of the door. The fans and air vents in the courtyard look like they haven't been cleaned in years. Overall though it's good for the price, I would expect better if I had paid more, but for one of the cheapest hotel options outdated rooms are to be expected. The breakfast buffet is pretty good, although there is a sign stating that food is not allowed to be taken to your room. During the nights we stayed the hot breakfast included scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausages, and pancakes. There is also cereal, small muffins, toast, and yogurt, plus coffee, tea, and juice to drink. This hotel is on the North side of Fredericton, which is farther from most things, however Fredericton isn't very large and it's right by the bridge so easy to get around.

She then proceeds to give me two free cake pops and wishes me a nice day. While my free drink offer didn't work, it didn't matter as the service I experienced was top notch. I know my review is biased as i clearly received some special service and got lucky by coming when I did; non the less the service was amazing and the cake pops and drinks were delicious. Has a unisex washroom on site. A/C is quite cold in the summer so bring a light jacket. The turn is also hard to see, google maps will make it look like a street rather than a plaza you enter.

However, the last few visits I've been pretty off put by some pretty basic food safety practices. I used to love that they have a water fountain open for people to use as a part of their food/beverage services. I get water often. However, at the end of March I noticed, to my absolute horror, how disgusting their fountain was. I had never paid attention before that moment; however, I went to fill up my cup for a second time and I noticed that the fountain had mildew all throughout the spout and the base. If you look at the photos you can see some of the mildew gunking up/starting to clog some of the spout screen as well as a rim of mildew around the inner part of the spout. I felt sick to my stomach knowing I had just drank from it (and multiple times that month). I mentioned it to staff and they said thanks for letting them know (I've attached pictures of what I saw). On April 15th, I came in again and the man, who was working until close that day, was serving food and using his phone with gloves between serving people. For example we ordered sandwiches (like many others), he put on a "protective glove" to handle the food...then while the food was toasting he took out his phone from his pocket and began scrolling, etc- using his gloved hand to get out his phone and hold it while the food toasted. Then he put his gloved hand back into his pocket to return his phone and adjust his clothing back, and then continued to touch the food with the same glove. It was just so unhygienic (phones and money are so dirty). As a note: the fountain still wasn't cleaned at this point so I held off on water and was still giving them a chance to clean it; I mentioned it again and understood they probably wouldn't get to it right then as they were closing in the next hour. Then at the beginning of May I came in to get a coffee... Thinking okay- I really want to like these guys...I just won't get the food or water. Yet, while waiting in line you could see the servers handle money and then us tongs to pick up the baked goods (muffins, croissants, etc.). Great- tongs! Good practice, I'm glad they do this. But then they lay the tongs ON TOP of the food they serve. So they would touch money, their phones, etc., then still lay the handle part of the tongs on top of the food, so what's the point. It's just a lot of little things adding up that is making me question the food safety training of the staff or the hygienic practices. They also use plastic cutting boards which is its own set of concerns (cross contamination, mold growth, microplastics, etc.) but not my main concern. It's just disappointing, I used to love them but now I just feel so gross 🤢 getting anything from them. Dang... They have so many great things going for them minus the food safety stuff. Update: as of May 3rd, still the water fountain has not been cleaned. I checked out of curiosity (and I took a video this time- its way grosser in person when you can see it with your own eyes and different lighting). You have a lot of history from the old mill along the route and then you come to this beautiful structure as you hit the intersection. Lots of space compared to their downtown spot. Just like with the downtown spot, the staff are friendly, the sandwiches and other baked goods are baked fresh and delicious.
