The menu is small and it showed the GF options which were helpful since my hubby has Celiac. It was also specific on the bottom that they don’t modify dishes which I can appreciate. We sat outdoor although they had a nice and spacious indoor seating and bar seats. Our server wasn’t the most personable and friendly, but she gave us a breakdown of their dishes. I asked her for a coke with my food and never got it so I didn’t even mention it because we didn’t see her after our entrees dropped. Now to the food! Pork+kimchi dumplings 4/5 - dumplings and texture were great, the sauce was good but TOO much ginger and that’s all you could really taste with a touch of soy. If they toned it down I would’ve thought it was more pleasant. Pad Kra 5/5 - it was so flavorful and all the textures were amazing, especially with the fried egg on top. Delicious! Som Tum Salad 5/5 - another delicious dish. The flavors were on point, tangy, spicy, sweet and crunchy. You could taste the fish sauce which I love! We ordered a side of rice and it went well with hot dishes. We are looking forward to trying more dishes and some cocktails next time!

The whole meal was an experience. The drink had a Sichuan peppercorn infusion. They make your mouth and lips feel tingly. It was an interesting and good experience. The drink itself was great! It took a few minutes for the sensation to go away. It was worth it! The bao buns were full of flavor, umami, and had a great texture. The buns were nice and fluffy. I wouldn't change a thing about them! I want more, actually. 😂 The stirfry was so damn good. It had some heat, and the beef itself made me so happy. We ordered 1 shrimp fried rice for $23 and 1 Okonomiyaki, which they claimed Japanese cabbage pancake for $15. My GF and I had dinner there last night and thought it was excellent. We had reservations and showed up a little early but were able to get seated as soon as we walked in. We got some drinks and 4 items to split. All of the food was great but the dumplings were some of the best dumplings I have ever had. I'm a big fan of Mellow Corn and when I saw it on the menu I got pretty excited as you don't see it on menus that often. Overall it was good but nothing to knock your socks off. I wouldn’t drive from Goose Creek to DI for it. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was good. Nice larger pieces of Chicken and the batter was on point, crunchy light and fluffy. The Eye Kew was also good. Had good flavor but the highlight was the Beef as it was so tender. Dim Sum platter was great. You could tell these were hand made. Five different pieces, the Shu Mai and the Pork were the best. Very light, but flavorful Dumpling Sauce. The Fried Rice was lacking, just Rice and Soy Sauce. Nothing else to provide flavor. No vegetables, no seasoning. The Egg Roll was also lacking. Essentially a Fried Cabbage Roll as there was a tiny amount of pork in it. To the point I had to thoroughly search for those red Pork pieces after each bite. The Duck Sauce that was served with it was great though. These were Lunch Specials but added the Dim Sum and the Egg Roll. Portions were solid for the price of $12.99 per special. Dim Sum was $8.99 and the Egg Roll was $2.75. It was nice to see a sit down Chinese Restaurant rather than the typical Take Out Style places, especially with some of the originals in the area closing. As I said before, the meal was good but nothing to go crazy about. Highlights were the Dim Sum and the Beef in the Rib Kew. Everything else was average at best. I will give them credit for a wide range of items on the menu that you wouldn’t get at a typical Chinese Take Out Style place.

They have a cute little shop in an unassuming mall, which is beautifully decorated and upkept. The kicker is that on Saturdays, they do a dim sum brunch, and it absolutely rules. We got the mix of dumplings, rolls, and steamed dishes, and all were excellent. The host even made some recommendations, which all panned out and made us happy. All the staff were warm, and the entire facility was clean. Coming from a place with more asian options, my only complaint is the size of the dishes. The food was incredible. Bold flavors, perfect spice level, and just downright delicious. It makes enjoying a succulent Chinese meal feel like a crime. The service was out of this world. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, attentive, and on top of it. We sat out on the patio, which was really well spaced out-something that's surprisingly rare these days. It was actually comfortable, not crammed in elbow-to-elbow like most places. There was this one couple who kept letting their dog on the patio even after being told multiple times not to. The staff handled it way more gracefully than I would've--they stayed polite and calm even though the couple just kept pushing it and acting like their dog being "well trained" made it okay. It didn't. Rules are rules. But major props to the team for keeping their cool and continuing to deliver great service. Kwei Fei is the real deal. We'll be back for sure.

I had high hopes for this restaurant but if you know what Sichuan food is supposed to taste like I'd avoid it at all costs. All of the food was missing a Sichuan aroma and flavor. Out of all the Asian fusion restaurants I have been to around Charleston, Red Orchids is definitely the one that I highly, highly recommend! The food portion is slightly smaller than other restaurants, and price is on the higher end of Chinese restaurants, but for the quality of the food that you are getting, it is worth going to try. Found Chopsticks,  but were a little cautious as all the reviews were dated.   Took one for the team... and were really happy.  Typical storefront Chinese,  but flavorful and portions were generous. Hot and sour soup as good as I've had.  General Tso was spiced just right,  but the fried rice side could have been a little more flavorful.   The lo mein was excellent!  Think the highlight was the ginger scallion chicken - but beware if you're not a ginger fan,  as it has large slices of fresh ginger. I waited to make sure we didn't "rent the food" due to MSG; 24 hours later and no issues! Biggest issue,  and reason not 5 star... we had it delivered to the hotel where we staying,  but they did not include any utensils,  chopsticks, napkins, plates, sauces or similar items one would expect of a takeout/delivery only restaurant.   Nonetheless,  we would definitely order from them again if we're in the area.

Not the authentic Chinese restaurant I expected. Seafood dishes were very disappointing. We ordered seafood tofu soup and Typhoon Shelter shrimp. Both of them were super fishy. I’m not sure if they used dead seafood but those seafood in my dishes were definitely not fresh! Chang’s in over 15 years, I was genuinely looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing from start to finish, and I won’t be returning. It took an extremely long time for our server to even come around and check on us and each time she finally did we needed multiple things or had issues, I felt bad for the poor girl because it was ridiculous how many tables she had to tend to. I’m not sure if they were short-staffed that night or what, but I watched our server have to run from tables outside, manage the bar, serve multiple two-tops, and take a whole row of booths by herself. As someone who’s worked as a server, shame on whoever was running the dining room and seating charts because our server was clearly left struggling with very little help. For our entrees, I had the sesame chicken, my friends had the spicy orange chicken, the teriyaki chicken, and two sides of fried rice. Once we finally got our food the guy bringing out our food let us know they were completely out of fried rice and instead of asking if we wanted a substitute for the fried rice the guy just brought one massive bowl of white rice, which my friends weren’t too pleased about. I noticed my sesame chicken had more vegetables than meat in the entire dish and each piece of chicken was no larger than a quarter, which I may have gotten at most ten pieces of. The teriyaki chicken was also a tiny portion and was only made somewhat of a meal with the rice added. The spicy orange chicken was completely wrong because it wasn’t spicy at all, it was just regular orange chicken which we all tried just to be sure. Once we finally flagged down our server, my friend let her know the chicken was wrong and she offered a remake of it. When the remade orange chicken finally came out, we had already finished our meals since it wasn’t very much to begin with. My friend tried the orange chicken and immediately said something about it being off, me and my other friend then tried the orange chicken to see what he was talking about and we both spat it out as soon as it went in. The “spicy” orange chicken seemed to just be regular orange chicken covered in red pepper flakes and some kind of weird hot sauce, it was horrible, and needless to say, it wasn’t eaten. At that point we just wanted to leave so we asked our server if we could get the bills and the free dessert to go. When we got our bills my friend immediately noticed that we were charged for the fried rice even though we never got any in the first place, we once again had to wait on our server to come back around so we could get new corrected bills without the fried rice. Without the fried rice the total was still over $100 which felt insane after what we just had. After we left, I decided I’d try my dessert which was the chocolate soufflé and vanilla ice cream. The chocolate soufflé had collapsed in on itself and was ice cold, it tasted like straight cocoa powder and was not very appetizing. Overall I regret choosing PF Changs as my choice for my birthday and wish we could have eaten somewhere else instead. Don’t bother wasting your money on overrated, mediocre, and extremely overpriced Asian food. Just find a local Asian business to buy Asian food from, I promise it will be a lot cheaper and a lot less waste of your time and money.

I walked in to a bag of trash on the first table I saw. Dirty floors, walls, ceilings, tables. The menu board looks outdated and hard to navigate. The lady that took my order was cold and un-friendly, bordering on rude. They have messed up on my delivery orders before and I really didn’t complain but one other time where they literally changed me for a large soup and brought me a small. Ok sir I will no longer eat at your establishment. Wait why are you making this a big deal…sir I no longer will eat at your establishment thank you. Wait…never mind I’m not going to beg… never asked just wanted fair service…the end. They have been rude for a long time, mediocre at best with food quality, and very ignorant to a lot more of Americans that come in there not just people of color because I have seen it. I gave too many passes but now that I see they have stayed in business and have not fixed that attitude I’m done. And the food sucks…3 times I’ve gotten below quality food and a sea of muck (as shown in the picture) at the bottom of my plate. Steer clear of this mess.
