After much deliberation, we drilled the menu down to 4 options but went with the hangover rosti with pulled pork, and the chilli scamble (see pics for your drool inducing vibes). Small critics would involve the need for an extra poached egg on the rosti dish to allow the creamy yoke to balance out the salty tang of the pulled pork and a little more whipped feta to ease and compliment the delicious fresh chilli on the scram. Easy to get a table probably because its Monday. Very attentive staff n super friendly. Service was quick. Big breakfast with salmon instead of bacon. Salmon well presented in a tiny cup which was a great value for money. Carefully cooked poached eggs which were very delicious. Caramel chocolate slice was thick n rich in chocolate with caramel filling inside. I wish the desserts menu was also included in the menu. Lots of options for dine in: outdoor, indoor, alfresco, etc. Parking might be a hassle as its near queens park though there is lots of street parking available just outside of cafe.

The food was delicious. The onion rings were perfection. The carbonara was excellent - I had to take it home as I was too full but it was still delicious as hell when I had it for dinner. Although the croissants/coffees are lovely, the other day the service from this particularly older man (seems like he might be the manager or owner.), had absolutely no care in taking my order. My sister's had steak and chips and the steaks were small and required sawing at them to cut them. Their veges were cold and had a rubber texture to them. Over all the food between us was not worth the price. The service however was good. They got the food out in good time which makes it odd that it would be cold when it arrived at the table. A great one is hard to find, so I'm never too disappointed when a standard one is served. As for the meals, the Potato Waffles were pretty good, complemented with plenty of salmon, a reasonably well poached egg, avocado wedges, and some greens. The waffles themselves weren't overly flavoursome but, as an overall package, offered an adequate meal. If anything, a small portion of the salmon was quite dry and fibrous, so I avoided eating it. The rest was moist and delicate though, so possibly open packaging exposing some product to the air? The sweet potato fries were excellent, nicely seasoned and very tasty. The ample servings of aioli, as specifically requested, further enhanced the flavour and enjoyment. Last but not least, the cinnamon toast (can't remember the exact name but it's similar to French Toast) was also really good. The toast was fluffy and light, perfectly spiced with the cinnamon, and nicely finished off with a tub of maple syrup. As a footnote, I will add that everything was professionally presented. The waffle stack looked great, as did the sweet potato fries in their stylish, angled black bowls. In summary, Copper Bench is a warm and comfortable venue, service is pleasant and prompt, and food & drinks are decent.

The schnitzel was moist and flavourful. Fuelled on the promise of the other great reviews. Upon entry we were made to feel welcome whilst our senses were bombarded with the smell of fine food and coffee. We ordered just that, with a flat white and a plate of bacon and eggs. The coffee arrived to our chosen seating place rather promptly and it was such a warm surprise to find it was actually decently made. If you enjoy a coffee that actually has a thick warm crema, freshly ground beans and served at the right temperature then this is the place for you. The fluffy crema of the coffee would have to be the best I have found so far in Toowoomba. The main course soon arrived and was well presented. The eggs were fried to perfection and the yoke was still runny. Exactly how I like them. The bacon was a little on the salty side but did not take away from the care shown to cook them in a way that left them crispy yet soft at the same time. The bread was fresh and garnished with some lovely dill. It tasted so good I had eaten half of it when I realised I had forgotten to take a photo. Overall I would recommend this cafe for anyone that would like a moderately busy place with exceptional coffee and food. This place also serves a variety of hand made cheeses and an assortment of jars with pickles, jams and sauces.

Server - I’m so sorry, I’ll pass that on.. server returns and says, you ordered a BLT.. me, yes with super crispy bacon. Server - a BLT has bacon, lettuce and tomato on toasted bread.. that’s what you got, we do apologise for the bacon though.. me, a little baffled - it was toasted AFTER it was made! Server - I don’t know how they’re made, me - showing her the menu, it clearly states, BLT on toasted bread of your choice, I asked for Turkish, you toast the bread, cook the bacon and build the sandwich with lettuce, tomato and with mayo or aioli.. you DO NOT toast the sandwich AFTER it is built because NOBODY wants to eat slimey lettuce. Server - I’m so sorry, I don’t do the cooking but I hope you come back so we can try again.. me - 😳😳😳 No offer of refund, not even a “can I get you something else” just “I hope you come back” Heads up.. I’m not coming back.. EVER!! If whoever it is that does your cooking cannot follow a simple instruction of crispy bacon and believes that a BLT is toasted after construction, because slimey lettuce is so very yummy, then I’ll not be wasting any more of money. When my meal appeared, I paid $6 for the smallest serving of bacon I’ve ever had. Grilled tomatoes still fresh, eggs hardly scrambled. Located just within the centre, this spot is such a cute little hidden gem with indoor, alfresco n outdoor space with lots of welcome vibe which i absolutely loved. After requesting nicely for my eggs to be cooked over easy a second time as I'd requested when ordered, the came out absolutely mashed, dry and hard. I'm pretty sure the cook took out her vengeance on both my mother's plate and mine after we'd sent them back requesting the eggs be flipped to cover the look of raw egg on one side. Horribly done. Could be pretty loud and shoulder to shoulder over the busy periods. The outside seatings are ok and by a rather quiet road. Food was good though I wasn't overly impressed. Butter beans are rather bland and powdery beans and I was expecting a well seasoned small portion balanced with some other items in the House Baked Butter Beans dish. The choice of spinach and white bread wasn't a great match. The latte was great and unlike many other cafes coffee, was nice and warm and gets a five star from me.

I can forgive not the best service or not the best food as a bad day - but to have both at once is really below expectations. Our breakfast was almost inedible. Eggs Benny with hard boiled eggs & Turkish bread so stale we were unable to cut it with a knife. We had to ask for one of our coffee orders 3 times & then it still came without the requested sugar. Trying to get the attention of the wait staff was a challenge and we had to resort to standing up in the middle of the cafe holding our food before someone paid us any attention. They were obviously understaffed but 1 server was on the phone & the other was eating breakfast out the back whilst customers just sat at tables looking around hoping to be helped. After we returned food someone came to apologise and offer to comp the meals - which was lovely - but then she explained that she didn’t even work there… A staff member who did work there eventually apologised for our experience, but it didn’t feel genuine. I hope things improve for them as it is a lovely location and has a lot of potential.
