From the moment I was served, I knew something was off. My meal arrived cold—not lukewarm, but actually cold. The food tasted as if it had been sitting out for some time, and it was clear it hadn't been prepared fresh. To make matters worse, the customer service was incredibly disappointing. When I politely mentioned the issue to the lady member of staff on the FOH, they seemed at a complete loss, as though they had never handled a complaint before. Rather than offering a solution or apologizing, they just looked confused and did little to address the issue, leaving me feeling ignored and frustrated, I initially asked for a new meal and was met with the response of "I will have to wait to ask the chef" to whom was gone another 5 mins, leaving me sat watching my family eat before I even had a responce to their error. After his, the chefs, return he informed me that I would be getting a refund and not a fresh meal as he said "it would be cooked the same". I reluctantly accepted this as I could now go else where for food. I was then approached by the second of the 2 active staff on duty, female FOH, and asked again, "do you want food or refund" so I said food as I was hungry. I then waited an another 15mins, 30 mins after making the complaint now, to recieve a mediocre burger wrap which left me feeling anxious, disappointed, and intimidated as they would stare at me every other second and then shake thier heads, mostly the chef, like it was somehow my fault I was served cold food. Im not usually one to complain or write a review at all but this was a whole new level of dissapointment. Overall, I left feeling let down. Poor food quality and inadequate service make Jack's Cafe a place I won't be returning to anytime soon.

We sat down and one of the staff came over and took our order. We had 2 large full English breakfast for £6.50 each. These came with tea or coffee and toast. Very quick service and the food was piping hot. I will definitely be returning! The service received by the owners was excellent, the prices were reasonable and the play area kept my toddler happy for over 3 hours. He especially loved mixing with the different age kids. Considering many other play areas charge for a 1-2 hour slot and don’t even offer hot food I think it’s amazing what the owners are offering. Even when it was getting busy, there was never too long a wait for food/drink. They have an outdoor area with crazy golf and a bouncy castle which we didn’t even need to try out as my son was having plenty of fun inside with the other kids. When my little boy has his moments they just take it in their stride but don't make you feel silly for then having a moment yourself (they will even do a dance to cheer you up) I've been to a few parties at planet play and can honestly say both Sarah and Jay go above and beyond! My boys love the digger den and and my little girl is just getting old enough to enjoy the soft play area. There is always a range of activites to do and the food is just 🤩. Very reasonably priced and I can't wait for summer to enjoy the bouncy castles!

We found this place and we were delighted. The place has a very friendly community feel. The people who run it were very welcoming and (unlike some larger venues) rather than immediately asking for money on the opening of the doors told us to settle in and have a brew and we sorted the bill later. There seemed to be bespoke craft sessions on for those who wanted (my son was more than happy climbing on the apparatus and playing on the slide). The equipment was clean, safe and we could enjoy a brew whilst being able to see our son at all times. There is a small sand pit outside too which is undercover. We also found that the prices for refreshments were very reasonable (again unlike other venues we have been to where a tea costs more than the admission) We would certainly recommend this to other families and will visit again when we're next in the area as this is great value for money.
