This coffee house used to be well run, clean and tidy with cleared tables, engaging staff together with toilets that were well maintained and clean. Sadly standards have dropped. At 1.30pm on a Friday the floors needed to be swept, the tables cleared and wiped down and the staff encouraged to engage with customers rather than having childish conversations with one another. The ignorance of the young man who made an attempt to serve my brother was beyond contempt. He asked my brother what his order was and then promptly started a conservation with a colleague as my brother was explaining his request! I am pleased my brother walked of as I think the young man would have been on disciplinary had my brother made a complaint. Coca Cola are not going to be very happy with their investment in Costa if this poor show continues. The young woman who made and served the coffee was engaging and well informed about the company. She certainly needs to be put in charge of retraining the young man. The toilets need attention in terms of a deep clean and redecorating. As you can see from my other reviews of Costa I normally rate it very highly. That is probably why I was particular disappointed today.

We ordered chicken burgers, to be fair the menu did not state chicken breast but for me it is normally expected that on a burger it is breast. For someone who has been attacked by a dog, scared of dogs and allergic to some I feel it unfair and unhygienic. I was told they would discuss it at their next meeting but not feedback and that was at least 6 months ago and nothing has changed. We always go back because even though it is expensive we love the food but now the food is not even up to scratch.

I didn’t really look at the menu, but I will be visiting again tomorrow with my daughter for my birthday.
