EVER! So the food and drink arrived and girl 3 and I quote ‘the tables not clean’ and proceeded to put our food down. I politely asked for the table to be cleaned… and she started saying I should have sat at a clean table or I should asked for the table to be cleaned. Mateeeeee, I’m coming to your garden centre / cafe to pay for a service… not to chase down mrs overall to clean the table. Is a clean table too much to expect? Terrible terrible attitude from this staff member. Really poor service

Within minutes of sitting down we were greeted by a lovely waitress who took our order. When I say no more than 5 minutes later they came with our food this is no exaggeration. It was piping hot and they weren't shy with their portions. We ordered two breakfast burritos and requested two items were removed, when they came the waitress told us they added a bit more sausage to both to compensate. The cafe itself was very well presented, clean and well looked after. If I could have given it 6 stars I would have. 10/10 would recommend. And will be visiting again with other family and friends so they can experience this for themselves.

But today I had THE WORST experience at Costa in Galleries and will never go back to this Costa if it’s managing by the same manager! First of all, I understand the pandemic situations with social distances and limitations of the customers etc. There were four of us waiting at the queue and there were empty two tables available for 2 people in different areas. Which means the following 2 couples could have sat down, but they make them waiting behind us until we suggested. Also, there were 2 people were sitting at a 4 people seat for a very long time as their glasses were empty when we got to the front of the line and we were at the front of the queue for at least 25mins. I understand the staff cannot ask customers to leave, but it’s not illegal to ask the customers if they would like to move to a two people table. So other customers can use the 4 seats table. When I spoke to the manager that they’re obviously not from the same household, she stopped me straight the way and saying that there’s no clear guidelines for that. It’s black and white on the UK government website. At the end the manager made the young guy who’s working on floor to speak to the customers. I feel so sorry for the young guy as it should be the manager’s job and not standing and chatting about. The queue had gone quickly once they changed to another manager.
