The Venue is second to none, a lovely welcoming space with unique features and extremely well presented. The additional bonus of the Pool Table kept our younger guests entertained all evening. The variety of drinks was also appreciated by all too. We chose the second of two wonderful food options and everything was incredible and really did include a bit of everything that is rare in a food package. The best part if it could get any better was the Staff themselves. Amy the owner is an absolute legend, she even helped me with a hairdresser when all was lost. The girls who were working were incredible with our younger guests too especially Phoebe who made a lot of friends that night! We travelled 5 hours from our home to hold our Ceremony and Celebration in Whitley Bay and the Crab and Waltzer was one of the reasons why. We would not hesitate to recommend this Venue and hope everyone that uses the Venue has as lovely time as we did!

I am a regular visitor as the service is always great and food is amazing. The menu changes seasonally to offer the best in season produce whilst the classics remain on the menu. The atmosphere is very welcoming and inclusive; I have been as a couple, with friends, with my daughter and alone and always received the same warm welcome. The staff are very accommodating to high chairs/ prams and wheelchair users. K&K is a breastfeeding friendly environment and also has an offering of feminine hygiene products in the bathroom which shows the thought behind the business of offering a welcoming space to all. Kith and Kin is home to the best cappuccino in my opinion, topped with real chocolate. I always opt for the French toast, choosing the special French toast on my last visit which was cereal milk and it was absolutely gorgeous (around £20 for the French toast and 2 cappuccinos). Other top contenders for me are the loaded hash browns, steak sarnie and the classic bacon sandwich which is jam packed with crispy bacon. The staff are great with allergens and the menu has vegan and veggie options. Always recommend booking in advance if attending on a weekend to avoid disappointment but K&K is always a recommendation of mine to anyone after a superb brunch spot.

My partner and I came for the breakfast which was absolutely tremendous. Great portion size and everything was cooked to perfection. The lady who served us was so friendly and welcoming. Good job I'd booked ahead. Sea view table, took Joby and mosh ( parents), was able to drop them off outside and also had disabled parking and the Ramp access was really good. Outside seats available. They definitely needed more staff but the ones who were on duty were really lovely. Fish and chips all round. Fish was so fresh.....and decent portions as we did get the special. The menu has a good choice of dishes very reasonably priced at £31 per head for three courses. For starters, I had the black pudding scotch egg which came with nice a runny yolk although I would have preferred more than a smear of the rhubarb ketchup. The good lady was very satisfied with her cod fritter. For mains she had the steak and chips served with a fantastically rich bordelaise sauce. I went for the pan haggerty which was elegantly served with poached egg, mustard sauce and seasonal greens. The sauce was a little lacking in substance not helped by the residual water leaking from the overcooked egg. For desert the wife had the singing hinnies. While I chose the steamed ginger pudding with marmalade ice cream. The sponge was not warm which made it rather dense. The marmalade ice cream was actually ice cream with a (generous amount) of marmalade sauce. While the issues over food quality were all pretty minor we did feel that the dishes did the bare minimum and lacked a wow factor. The service was quite perfunctory. At no point during the meal were we asked if everything was OK. The waiter also had a habit of leaning across the diner when serving. The experience overall left us feeling a little flat. However I will point out that the restaurant was very busy on a Wednesday evening and everyone we spoke to prior to our visit highly recommended Hinnies. Maybe we caught them on a bad night?

We had the 2 course lunch, my started was the cod fritter which was claggy on top of a dry corn bread it was impossible to eat without a drink, needs a sauce to make it easier to eat. The black pudding scotch egg had by my husband was nice but stone cold. We then waited an hour for our mains whilst the kitchen focused on preparing meals for their social media posts. We saw 4 dishes come out of the kitchen, including the fish of day which my husband had ordered, all go sailing past us to the member of staff at the front of the restaurant to take photos of in different settings! Eventually our mains came out, my chicken was ok a little lacking of seasoning, the potatoes were delish. My husband's cod of the day was however raw halfway through and totally translucent. The hand cooked chips looked like the scraps out of the bottom of a bag of frozen chips, however they were hot! The waiter kindly comped my husband's meal, but I can't stop feeling that if the chefs and the marketing staff member had paid as much care and attention to their actual customers, rather than their social media content then we would have had a much better experience. The staff are lovely, friendly and hard working. I really can't fault them. The atmosphere is great, it's actually quite a large venue but divided into three smaller rooms, which means you can still hear yourself think even over the quite excellent playlist 😀 The food is excellent, well cooked and tasty and also offers really good value especially given the generous portion size. The menu itself is varied with choices of tapas, platters, tacos, burgers and salads along with a nice selection of sandwiches for lunch. The wine menu has a good selection of wines to cater for all tastes and budgets. On a final note the toilets are spotless which in my opinion means everything else is as well! The Service was brilliant from all 3 people who dealt with us. The coffee was particularly good. I like my coffee strong and was advised to go for the Italian blend. It was inspired advice. Upon arrival I asked at the bar if my table I had reserved was ready. The lady told me where the table was but I wasn't lead there. We were seen to fairly quickly for drinks and food. We were placed in the corner against what I can only assume shared a wall with the kitchen as there was a lot of banging against it throughout the meal. No staff asked how food was and no one checked if we needed for drinks. After we had finished our food we waited 35 minutes and no plates were removed from the table. After trying multiple times to grab a servers attention, patience was lost. I had to leave the table and acquire the bill myself and ask for the table to be cleared. When the final bill arrived a charity donation was added on our behalf. We weren't asked if this was okay, no signage in the restaurant was present explaining this either. We had no problem with being asked if we would like to donate to charity, however it was added without consultation. Food was lovely, service not so much

I was bought a voucher for a birthday gift and the booking process was seamless. I emailed Alex’s partner, Kate and she booked me in; really personable and friendly style of email communication. On the day I brought my machine with me (entry level Sage Barista Express) and met with Alex at the venue. Alex is very, very passionate about coffee and it’s clear he views it as more than a mere commodity which gives you a caffeine kick but rather something that provides more holistic benefits starting from choosing the beans to the theatre of making the coffee through to drinking it. We did a short coffee tasting of three different coffees to learn about the different tasting profiles of the beans and how each coffee tastes differently when at a high temperature, cooler temperatures and with milk. We then plugged in my machine and got down to business. We ran through the dialling in, grinding and tamping in process and we guided me step by step and gave me some really useful tips. We then pulled a fair few shots until we got consistent results with quality crema. Next we’re turned to steaming the milk and Alex showed me how to do it perfectly (although admittedly now I’m back at home I’m still not getting it right 100% of the time). We then did a tour of the roastery and it was really interesting to learn all about the different beans and the roasting process. I was then able to take a bag of beans off my choosing and headed home. The one on one session lasted c2.5 hours and at no point did Alex check his watch/the time and he was very patient with me and answered all my queries. I also sent Kate a couple of follow up queries over email and she responded promptly and with enthusiasm. I really recommend you try this course and their coffee beans. It was a fun, informative day and their beans taste really good. This is exactly the kind of small business which is passionate about their offering that everyone should be supporting.
