Rising Cafe tucked inside a church and what a find it was. Upscale ‘simple’ food done so so well. Sticky Korean chicken thighs nice pickled vegetables on top with spring onions juicy, sticky and great portion. Good level of spice as well. Highly recommend! Service was a bit slow but was Saturday at lunchtime and after a small issue with order not being processed all was ok and apologised as technical glitch on ordering system. Food was absolutely worth the wait and service was very warm and friendly from the young lad. Jade mountain tea felt like a treat but was lovely quality sencha green tea infused with rice hazelnut and cocoa… really unique flavours. Birria toasted sandwich just insane lovely birria sauce with it and aioli just perfection couldn’t quite believe how good it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in years. Great quality bread as well with a cheese ‘crust’. Didn’t want to finish it was that good. All proceeds go to help a charity that helps with addiction and homelessness as well which is amazing. This place had no right to be as good as it is… a cafe inside a church… but wow. No dinner needed, £25 more than worth it for exceptional food with attention to detail. Chef smashed it!

The service was underwhelming, the waiter didn't seem bothered to make me feel welcome at all, lack of eye contact and no smile etc. The food arrived and had no seasoning or any real flavour, it just tasted bland. My friend and I went in for lunch after walking up to the bail. It was reasonably busy and the atmosphere was so happy and inviting. I popped in today for a drink and snack, mid morning, and only 1 table was taken. Really nice atmosphere, airy with lots of comfy seating. Staff were welcoming and pleasant and the coffee was excellent but cup so small I almost ordered a second cup. When we entered we were met by really friendly staff who got us to a table with nice comfy seating. We ordered Tea, Smoked Salmon Bagel and a Sausage Bap. The tea was real leaf tea and was really refreshing, my brother complimented the Sausage Bap through a full mouth and the Smoked Salmon Bagel was delicious with an ample supply of cream cheese. This is a delightful place full of character with a really relaxed atmosphere and professional and helpful staff, if you are passing and in need of refreshment, give it a try.

Very popular destination, and they were very busy. Slight delays in service (to be expected) but the food was served quickly. The white painted ceiling between the beams and white walls brightens the place, but not too much, just enough, as it is combined with rich ochre and exposed stone walls. At the same time, the dimmed lighting provided by the lamps carefully positioned, almost requires a few minutes for your eyes to get used to it and take it all in. On arrival we didn't have to wait long to be seated and we're given both a normal menu and a gluten free menu. The range of GF friendly dishes is really good. We decided on the Brratta and pear salad and garlic and paprika king prawns as starters, no photos of them but both really really good! For mains we had Spanish chicken and the Cosy smash burger both again were GF. For Coeliacs, burgers are probably something I've missed and this burger was absolutely everything you could want, juicy, messy, finger licking, just perfect! The Spanish chicken was perfectly spicy and flavourful. For dessert we chose the lemon posset and lemon & raspberry semifreddo both GF. The lemon posset was creamy and delightful, and the Semifreddo was bursting full of flavour. For drinks we had the frozen watermelon and strawberry smash and a berry bliss probiotic smoothie both GF. Very busy and vibrant place. The staff we encounted were completely hit and miss. Two of them were fantasic, the rest were almost bizzare. You can get a good curry, anywhere these days, so the atmosphere and overall experience go along way. If not for the two decent staff members the service would be zero. Never encounted so many unintrested and miserable staff, two of them boadering on rude, which did have an impact on the experience. However, the place was busy, and most of the food was nice enough. That does NOT do it justice! We stopped for a couple of corretto coffees and a slice of tiramisu. Collectively they were so good we immeditely cancelled our evening plans and booked a table here. 5 hours later we were back and being served by Bev. He was one of the best resturant staff members we've ever dealt with anywhere - he was well informed, funny and full of banter. Don't let his shorts put you off, he's saving up for a full size pair of trousers ;-) The food was absolutely top notch, from the olives and salami platter, through pumpkin pasta and pizza. Dessert and coffees were also absolutely on point. Go here, eat here. Do not be disappointed in any way. 12/10 - would recomend to anyone even if they dont ask for a recomendation.

Always excellent. The coffee is top quality and the cakes very professionally made. The pasta is delicious and well presented. Staff are always friendly and helpful and will go above and beyond. The reason I am making a review now however is because I finally tried the pizza for the first time today. It was utterly exceptional. Honestly, it was on par with pizza I have eaten in Italy. The crust and base were crisp and flavourful, the sauce was simple yet tasty and the topping were fresh. It had the right amount of char and when you're finished you don't feel at all bloated. It's a lovely restaurant and you don't realise how grand and fancy it looks until you walk inside! It's quite a bit bigger than you would imagine it to be too. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. It was on the table very quickly, as were the drinks that we ordered as soon as we arrived. The only criticism I have is that we felt a bit rushed to eat our food and leave, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. A waiter kept staring at our table when he would walk past (which was quite a bit) and he was quick to try and get the food off our table which we were slowly picking at after having our main fill. The quality of the food, great coffee and excellent service will mean that we will make it a regular venue. The venue allows dogs and is located in an ideal place should you want to go for a walk in the local area. Excellent - pretty busy, but we got a table straight away, the food was very good, service extremely efficient. Refreshed, we walked off our lunch around the sculpture gardens. Including an indoor exhibition there are some 300 works exhibited - we probably saw them all (took photos of about 100 or so!). There is something about seeing sculpture in the outdoors, the way it is juxtaposed against the natural world, which enhances most works, and this was a very impressive collection. (And there is a wealth of information on the website, it has been extremely well put together.) To conclude our visit we spent more than we should have done in the impressive and high-end farm shop - the locally-produced apple juice and the little yellow Mirabel plums grown in the gardens definitely recommended. Couple of things to note: the sculpture exhibition is only on until 7 September, and the RHS and Gardener's World discounts which are usually valid do not apply as normal during the exhibition (apparently there have been ructions at the ticket desk, so this is an advance warning!) We didn't visit the hall, so can't comment on that (looks impressive though) and without the sculpture exhibition - which is only there for a few weeks - the grounds would be a different type of experience. So we may well come back to see how it all works!

The staff are friendly & very helpful. We most certainly didn’t wait long, which very much surprised me, as they were extremely busy, the food was served very quickly. Absolutely delicious! It's really disappointing that everything is served in disposable packaging, this is so wasteful and I dont think it would be hard for the cafe to have a dishwasher and some reusable cutlery. In this day and age I think it's important for establishments to demonstrate some care for the planet. Getting rid of the disposables would be a good step towards this. Not impressed with the food or drinks either, I got a carrot cake it was horribly stale, and I didnt rate my hot chocolate. We sat in to eat and the room was freezing, the person I was with was shivering and we eventually just left. I wouldn't go here again.

Today it was sunny and so I stopped for a take out two scoops of ice cream in a biscuit cone. So glad I did as the cafe is really pretty and the staff friendly. I chose vanilla and blackcurrant & liquorice scoop. In Italy I’ve had liquorice gelato and loved it but I’ve never seen it in the uk. Both scoops of gelato were delicious and rich and the deep flavour of blackcurrant and liquorice is earthy and moreish. The cake selection looked great. Cant wait for another gelato from Cafe Gelato as this is one of the best I’ve had outside of Italy.

I can only assume that this was used to clean off needles by some drug user that had been there in that short space of time. The staff here are just so friendly and welcoming and they work incredibly hard to deliver wonderful service. I've been coming to this Starbucks for over 5 years and honestly I have never had a bad coffee from here at all. It's brilliant when the staff get to remember your usual drink and it always feels like you're appearing in an episode of Friends as the staff are so engaging and caring to their customers. My favourite coffee is a mocha and Starbucks is the only coffee shop that can make a mocha to absolute perfection (and a mocha from Starbucks is SENSATIONAL paired with peppermint syrup). And I always love the cozy and relaxed ambience in the store as it makes your experience in store truly worth it. I will forever be loyal to this Starbucks branch. 💚☕️ EDIT: There is staff member at this branch I want to give a special shout out too and that staff member is Henry. He is honestly a credit to this branch and he has the sweetest personality ever. His customer service is absolutely incredible and he made my visit today really special as he is so kind and caring (he also made my white mocha to perfection as well). He truly is a credit to Starbucks with his wonderful personality and his incredible customer service.
