In between, about a year ago I tried the Charlottesville location and it was the worse I’ve tried yet. So, for the past few years when seeking authentic Szechuan food, I’ve been driving up to Szechuan Taste in Dale City (which is amazing, BTW!) or up to Arlington, Fairfax, etc. Some of the best I’ve ever had came from Szechuan Taste in Dale City, Chengdu Gourmet in Pittsburgh, and the best yet has been from Sichuan House in San Antonio (yeah, I ate Szechuan instead of tacos when in the Taco Capital!)!! Recently I was in the area of Central Park and was yearning for authentic Szechuan, so I decided to give this location another try… I got Christine as a server and she was great! She not only knew the menu, she understood the authenticity of Szechuan food versus the typical American Chinese food (General Tso’s, sweet & sour fried stuff, etc). I simply asked for cumin chicken and was given an AMAZING dish loaded with flavor… all the flavors I yearn for when desiring this style of food. Prices are great here too, as I ordered the diner portion, not the lunch portion and it was only like $16 for a large amount of food. I’ll definitely return and ask for Christine next time too, to ensure I’m getting my food made right! Definitely would recommend to those who know and seek authentic Szechuan to hear what you think of it.

While there is now a wine bar there, I was happy to discover that the owner had taken over the old Chinese buffet around the corner. The menu has changed some in almost 20 years, and there are some really good specials on there. The lunch servings come with rice and egg roll, and you can't beat that for a $10 meal. Service was prompt, and food didn't take long to come. Good portions and good prices. Additionally, I was really impressed with how well the owner renovated the place. She gVr it a more calm and slightly more upscale atmosphere. The old buffet was good, and I do miss those upside down umbrella-looking things that hung from the ceiling, but it looks really nice in there. Overall, food and service is just as good as I remember from almost 16 years ago, and I will continue to visit when I come back.

The restaurant has been here for many years and has a sizable dining room with great service and a menu that seems very authentic. The food has always been delicious and fresh and the delivery fast. Today I tried, among 3 other dishes the Singapore Rice Noodles w Vegetables. What I got was plain noodles with no veggies other than the onion and celery slivers. I called and was told that that’s gow they come. When I asked where the other veggies were like broccoli and carrots (which are clearly evident from the photo in their menu of the one w the shrimp) I was told that the Vegetables one doesn’t have them. Other photo is what I got. Why advertise a Vegetable Dish that doesn’t even have the same vegetables that you put into the dish with meat? Girl basically told me it was my fault because I didn’t specifically ask what vegetables were going to be in it. Hmmmmm!! Oh well. Plenty of other delicious chinese restaurants nearby that I’m sure offer vegetables in their vegetable dishes!!

Ordered General Tso Chicken lunch special, and I got it with white meat chicken, which they upcharged $1 since its "premium chicken" but all they did was use the Sweet and Sour chicken towards this meal and added General Tso sauce on top (not much might I add). I paid over $11 for this lunch meal and it was not worth it in my opinion (not much chicken in the meal, and the chicken I did get was more breading than white meat chicken). But it seems like with these types of Buffets they like to charge everybody per person and depending on which place you go to as in my last experience somewhere else people just order off the menu. Here you don't get anything and you don't even get a drink menu. I had to look on my device to see their menu in case I missed something. When I left out I had saw that they had alcohol. They also charge you extra to take home which is fine. Explain the process that you're going to weigh our food WHEN we leave not prior to paying up front. In my case I don't want to be charged more based on how much we're paying with everything going on. I want to pay with what's fair and it took a lot for me to get them to understand what I was saying. They also charged us in our party tips and then try to point to the sign about how much the buffet is. Please use your customer service skills and talk to your customers. That needs to be fixed as well. As some people don't really know the process and in my case at another Buffet like this they overcharged the party I was in. I also think the 2-hour stay time is ridiculous. If we're paying to eat there we should be able to stay as long as we would want to. The place wasn't busy. The inside looked clean and they actually had a decent amount of business going on. They have the typical American-Chinese menu. I ordered some really basic, American fare – Chicken & Broccoli (spicy), Chicken Lo Mein (spicy), and Egg Drop Soup. Normally when I order Chinese food made “spicy” it’s not very spicy, but the spicy food here was pretty darn hot and packed with flavor too! The soup had a nice flavor to it also, except they forgot my fried noodles to go in it. Overall, the food was made with good, fresh ingredients and the flavors were pretty good, for “American food.” I’d definitely return!

We all enjoy it! The prices are solid, and I've never had an issue with an order -- whether I've ordered online, in-person, or over the phone. Glad they're both close-by and affordable, too! We typically order for 7 people or more, so having yummy food for a lot of different pallettes at a decent price is great.
