These donuts don’t come close to any donuts I’ve eaten in the area before, they are sweet but not sickly sweet, decadent but not too heavy and freshly prepared. They have a bunch of different textures/types, old fashioned which was firm and dense, buttermilk which was rich and less dense, and the cake variant which was fluffy and light. We were told by multiple guests that it was the best wedding cake they had ever eaten and were also blown away that it was vegan! Before that I had no clue there was an all-vegan bakery & coffee shop in Oakland; had to come check it out! Definitely some of the best I’ve had in this area, however this spot is more expensive than the others. I went to my vehicle to get the order then noticed it was incorrect. So I then just asked for a complete refund. The lady was about to give me a cash refund, then the owner & I said simultaneously, that I paid with a card. So he took his precious time trying to refund my money. Asked for my phone in a rush, while I was doing my facial recognition. I him the phone in his hand, once he finished with it, he sat it on the counter closest to him where I had to reach to get it. As I left, I wished the LADY, who seemed to be the most SANE person amongst the a good day & left. Before I could reach my vehicle, I heard the lady calling me back. She asked it I had used 2 different cards. I said no, but after checking I saw that I actually had. Guessing I was so upset about the incident, I wasn’t thinking clearly. This is a ONE & DONE FOR ME! Between this business STEALING from their customers, then having NO ACCOUNTABILITY, the SNIDE REMARKS & LAUGHTER it’s DIABOLICAL! Children run around unsupervised, leave trash in the common areas and because of this the "amenities" are pretty much unusable/definitely not desirable to sit on. Most concerning though is that a few weeks ago I had to call the police at 4am because my downstairs neighbor was being accused of sexually assaulting a minor. Wife ordered to-go, was forced to leave a tip because it wouldn't allow you to finish the transaction without leaving one. Don't mind tipping for good service, and i will generally leave something, but making it compulsory rubs me the wrong way. Probably could have used a custom tip to leave $0, but not having a "no tip" button makes it feel like you have to leave something in order to just check out. They have a small play area for the kids, but they want $5 per kid to allow them to use it, that's on top of your purchase, not anything special, or really worth paying $5/ kid on top of what you paid for your order.
