That was just the start of this positive experience. We decided to book for our birthday’s and I’m so glad we did. From being greeting so handsomely at the door to being introduced to the waiting staff it was completely flawless and impeccable. To some these little details may well be overlooked but to us we were extremely balled over. We had the pleasure of being looked after by Winnie , Hannah ( who goodness knows how recited the ingredients so eloquently and precise ) and Emily. Winnie ensured that our every need was seen to and was extremely personable . Now the star of the show goes to the gifted chefs who seldom get recognition for the beautiful food they articulately put together. The food was beyond anything my palate has the pleasure of greeting ! I would definitely recommend the taster menu it’s incredible! I just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved for making our birthday a truly memorable one. The little touches like the confetti on the table and the personalised menu’s did not go unnoticed. Great ambiance and the place is not overcrowded with many tables, they have 2 floors but the place is not too big. I asked for extras to be added on our table and in under 30 minutes they delivered. We had personalised menues with colleagues name on it. Everything i asked for, they delivered. Would definately visit again. The seafood is spot on and the French onion soup is very good too so recommend that and the mussels and crab. Surprisingly the grape juice was also a winner - we're glad we got the large pitcher. A good alternative to those who can't/don't want to drink alcohol. My only issue were the mains, my partner ordered steak medium rare but it was more medium. I ordered the duck confit and it looked like it'd be deep fried too much, the outside was dry and stiff. Inside, it wasn't any better, as it was clearly overcooked and very salty! It was almost like eating cured duck. My potatoes were also overly deep fried, very oily. Even with the pickled veg, it was hard to eat. It seems the meat station failed this day as everything else was on point. Very disappointing considering the mains were not cheap. I recommend appetisers but avoid mains as they seem inconsistent.

The floor gets very wet, so no slippers. So its a tight space when compared to European spas. The outdoor jacuzzi and hydro pool is only ok if its not raining. Not outside covering. We had a "deal" which included a 2 course dinner for 2. I have eaten in the restaurant previously and always enjoyed the food, I was really hungry so looking forward to my meal. The restaurant had an event on, we were in the library (no semblance of a library and completely soulless) the food was very disappointing and had 2 members of staff very overwhelmed. I had filet steak which was tasteless and my partner had a ribeye which he questioned if indeed it was ribeye, we ended up going to the hotel next door for drinks and to cheer us up! Sadly after this experience I won't be returning, the one night stay was £450, which for what we experienced was grossly overpriced. Reception gave me £50 off my bill when I showed them the photos of the mould and the dressing gown. We skipped the breakfast which was part of the deal as guests told us how poor the service was and we had enough at that stage and just wanted to leave. Sadly it has gone downhill, which is such a shame.

We had great food here and could not fault that. Good menu selection and very well cooked food. I’m not from the area but found this place a gem really.. the chef does bring all the elements of the ingredients together and executes his food very well. Wine is very overpriced and wine list is frankly very poor. The final straw was when my wife and friend were in the ladies toilet the male chef came in to use the toilet. We complained to the manager and he said that it wasn't the usual chef as it was a rugby day! We said that the clue might have been LADIES on the door!!
