When I mentioned we had booked for a table by the window, the manager and reception clerk were rude and unapologetic about this, giving priority to others and not telling us beforehand that we would not get the table we requested. I ate there a couple times a week many many times over that two year time frame. I absolutely love it there. The food is phenomenal and always has the highest quality ingredients. Our dinner this evening was just as phenomenal as ever. The flavors and freshness of the ingredients was incredible. The restaurant wasn’t busy so we had a choice of tables. After getting seated, a waiter came to welcome us and hand us the menus dressed in traditional outfits which was a good sight to see. On to the food, we ordered a few different starters and went for the veg biriyani for main, by the time we finished the starters, we were stuffed. We ordered the chicken shashlik, chilli paneer (my favourite) amongst others, these two is highly recommended. The chicken was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and perfect spice level. We came across this restaurant. We were greetd by friendly and helpful staff that recommended the balti and my wife had a butter chicken. The error was only found when the other tables starters arrived - calamari. We asked at that point if that had been our main course wrongly delivered which was of course the case and given we had waited so long we therefore cancelled it and shared the course which had already been delivered and was now at best luke warm. No genuine apology, our only recourse was to withhold the service which we did but the bill was still over £70 for 2 so a premium price for an awful experience and ultimately we won’t be back. There are plenty of Thai restaurants around, this used to be a favourite but unfortunately not worth the premium compared to pub Thais. My advice try somewhere else.

We decided to order several smaller dishes and a few sushi so that we could sample more of the menu. The octopus legs with seaweed were on par with those I've had in Japan, the chicken karage (lightly fried chicken) was superb and tender, the lightly fried tofu in broth was delicate and tasty and all of the sushi dishes were fresh and very very good indeed. That was the main reason we didn’t try it being a chef myself. Then we decided to order a delivery. The price was reasonable until you see what you get for your money. Few yards away there are two Indian restaurant both are not excellent far from it but much better than this place. Amazed how it’s still open. And the five star ratings?
