This is a really good fine dining restaurant in Kanpur mostly because of its brilliant ambience and great Chinese/Thai food. The outer has alot more personality than the inside ambience, food or service. No music, no fancy anything, the dishes was all just so same and lame(no different from one another),RIP flavours, the plain jane with no highlight kinda place....NEVER VISING AGAIN NOR LETTING ANYONE GO I swear!! What was meant to be a joyful celebration ended up feeling like a waste of both time and money. Food Quality: We ordered dal and a paneer dish. The dal was just average, but the paneer dish was a complete letdown. It tasted like grinned tomatoes with a few spices and paneer cubes thrown in—there was no richness, no creaminess, and worst of all, the paneer tasted sour. We also tried the matar mushroom, and sadly, the story was the same. The gravy lacked depth and flavor, clearly just tomato purée with spices. There was absolutely no taste of fresh ingredients or effort in preparation. Overall, the food was bland, unappealing, and far from what we expected. Ambience & Service: To add to the disappointment, the power went off. While we understand weather-related power cuts happen, the restaurant had no emergency arrangements in place. We were left sweating, with no fan or ventilation. Their solution was to open the main doors of the restaurant to let in some air—which made it feel more like a roadside dhaba than a dine-in restaurant. They should have been upfront about their generator not working and informed us they wouldn’t be able to provide proper service further. The food was horrible. Dal rakhni was prepared so sweet that I had to dump a lot of salt and pepper in it to bring the taste back to normal. Paneer was also not good. Tandoori Roti's were very hard and had burned and holes in it. They have also downsized the portions but kept the same rates. Felt like cheated this time hence downgrading the rating to 2 stars now. Service was very slow. Previous experience: I have dined in quite a few restaurants in Kanpur in last 7 years but this one takes the award in terms of ambience, service and taste. The ambience is quite awesome and niche. Entire staff is well trained, polite and professional. Now, coming to food, the quantity of every dish is enough for 2-3 people. I did not have nonveg so will stick to review the taste of veg food only. The taste was superb. There was a good balance of spices and the ingredients were fresh. Tandoori Rotis were thin and soft, made of whole wheat and did not have maida as it happens in a lot of other restaurants. Desserts were again superb. Especially, the thandi kheer. I have never had such a tasty kheer in a restaurant. All in all, a very good experience and the entire staff deserves a pat on the back because of quick service and professional and polite behaviour.
