The service is friendly and attentive. The staff are typically knowledgeable about the menu, and the food has always arrived very quickly. The food is excellent, but it would be nice to have a few specials available and maybe some additional ‘Big dishes.’ In a larger group, there is always someone who prefers not to have tapas! We really enjoy the range of seating options available – very helpful with the variable weather that we have during the year. And a special mention for Alex. The crew doted over us and made us feel like the real deal. As the place filled up they didn’t skip a beat. Having never been there before, I was pleasantly surprised. The outside is decorated and laid out really nicely. Four of us shared the sourdough which was good but wasn't actually sourdough more like a big crusty white roll situation... Each couple shared the hoisin mushroom spring roll. I was disappointed that it was just one spring roll for the price £10.50. Seemed a bit steep. The beef roast was about 7/10 - It's hard to get a 10/10 so I'd consider that good! The desserts were also good although there were date pits in the sticky toffee pudding - these aren't edible when they're rock hard. The drinks took a long time to arrive - about 20 minutes for each round. I appreciate there may have been patrons ordering directly at the bar but our food arrived before the drinks did.... The service was perfectly fine with a really nice waitress (Evie, I think!) and rest of the team who we engaged with were all really nice. The atmosphere really was good, especially with the music and I would be interested to try out other bits from their menu and sit outside again! :)

The Yorkshire pudding was hard as rock and the potato's were like, it was from frozen then cooked, not fluffy or crispy but more chewy. So we were all disappointed with the Sunday Roast as Yorkshire Pudding is what makes a good Sunday Roast. But the staff are lovely which elevates the experience and atmosphere.

Happily, the place looks absolutely fantastic. The new décor feels fresh and welcoming without losing the charm that made us regulars in the first place. I was disappointed. I ended up getting the double chicken burger instead, which was really good. For dessert i had the apple and berry crumble. It was ok. It didn't seem to have much apple init, as I mostly tasted berries and I would have preferred the ice cream on the side. The crumble on top was good though. The staff were nice and friendly. Tucked away you'd never know it was there down a side street and past some pretty cottages. First impressions very good though confused by "The Albany" and so many yards sign that is past the steps yo the main entrance. There's no gate to the terrace so don't understand why it's there. Once we'd found the entrance, along with another couple, we were warmly welcomed and given a choice of tables on the terrace. Our server, Harry, was very friendly and attentive, took our order and served our food within a short period of time during which we enjoyed the view from our table of the river, the passenger boats, wildlife, etc which was delightful. I had the pork belly which was absolutely delicious the crushed roast potatoes and vegetables were underneath the pork so it doesn't look much in the photo but the meal was amazing and filling. My husband had the chicken which was equally good, and he loved the gravy. Despite this, he managed to have the trio of mini desserts afterwards, and Harry thoughtfully brought another spoon "just in case" I should be able to find room to try it :-) Our favourite of the chocolate brownie and ice cream, lemon tart, and rhubarb and strawberry crumble with custard was definitely the latter. We'll probably have that on it's own the next time! The starters look very tempting but we declined, anticipating great things with the main meal and we are so glad we did otherwise we wouldn't have got through the rest! A great experience, delicious food, and lovely view by the river, a perfect birthday treat. Heard mixed reviews from various people on the previous incarnation, I'm not one to drag on a pub for being bad, there is always an audience for a manky Stella and a comfortable view of the footy, but it's hard to imagine it was as good as the pub is now - albeit a subjective opinion. Taken over in 2017 by Luke & Heloise after a successful stint as landlords in Bristol at The Victoria Park, this family-owned, independent pub floats under the radar landing somewhere between those train stations you wake up at if you miss your stop at Surbiton although still not quite near anything. Walkable though, and an enjoyable one at that. The quaint backstreets of Long Ditton, various parks and a Cricket Green, give way to this inviting pub, that I've been drawn back to a handful of times, and another one where I wondered why I hadn't been there sooner. Met immediately with the bar, there's a healthy mix of accessible craft and it's fairly priced too. High Wire which I hadn't seen in ages was clocking in under £6, and it's the little touches like the matching glassware for Lervig, Tiny Rebel and Magic Rock that make the difference sometimes. Cask from locals such as Park Brewery too - you are spoiled for choice. Inside it's spacious, comfortable, and outside it's enclosed, quiet - a place for the kids to play and even space for the dog to run about. The staff are lovely and helpful, spoke to Luke for a bit too - always nice to meet the head honcho in these places. We came back for food again, there's loads to go at. From picky bits to pizzas and what was voted the best Roast Dinner in South England (2017) too. I'd imagine if people weren't desperate to go on their holidays, this place would usually be buzzing over the weekend. Shame it took me so long to find this pub, but it's one I'll be coming back to regularly. Just so happens to be at the end of one of the dogs favourite parks. Winner.

Writing this review as we ordered a late evening delivery and are now sat here hungry, as the food was inedible. The lamb rogan was watery and had little flavour in addition to the lamb being so chewy, that it was spat out and left on the side of plates! The worst part though, was the onion bajis. These absolutely did not taste fresh, they were rock hard and dry. They tasted like they had been frozen and microwaved. The food arrived cold as well. So very disappointed as it’s our first time trying Panshi- will certainly not be back.

We were staying around 15 minutes away and the rating seemed good with positive reviews. The interior was nice but the food atmosphere and service was terrible. We booked early and when we arrived we wanted to order our food and got told no only drinks for the time being. The restaurant was empty and there’s “house rules” to keep the noise down so it felt very tense and we couldn’t even have a conversation without feeling like the staff could hear everything. The starters were bland and plates were dirty. There were fruit flies hovering and landing on the food. The drinks order wasn’t even correct. We ordered tikka masala for our main and it was completely bland and greasy. The keema rice and chips looked like they had just been warmed up and the rice was stuck together. Not one waiter asked if our food was okay or bothered to check if we needed anything, they were just all hovering at the till. We asked for the bill and didn’t get asked if we wanted anything else, for two of us it came to £70 which was a complete rip off for what seemed like a microwave meal (Infact I’ve had better microwave meals). Don’t know how it’s even still getting custom must rely on people with non functioning taste buds.

Looks like a 5 year old could have made better at home. Talk about cutting corners pizza express, and using coronviris as an excuse to provide poor food. Disgusting all round. Stark contrast to last week when I had hot cooked nice pizzas. Instead of looking for excuses accept you got it wrong and offer to fix it.
