The atmosphere was warm and vibrant and we had VIP treatment from all the staff. They were all very pleasant and friendly, and Elliott went above and beyond his call of duty for us - thank you. Stumbled across this excellent venue while staying in the area. We went on Wednesday steak night and had the T-Bone. Everything about the food was heavenly from the perfect cooked chips to the delicious steak with the incredible peppercorn sauce. The chef certainly can cook, no question! Staff were very friendly and attentive and the selection of drinks was varied. Especially enjoyed the choice of craft beers on tap. We are already planning another visit before we leave the area and head home… it was THAT good.

However they ever so kindly said that they had one potato left and could cook something up for me. And boy was I comforted when I saw my jacket potato with load of melted cheese and beans with well cooked soft inside jacket potato and hot even till the last bite ! Finger licking good 😌. The waiters were genuinely shocked mole people warm and lovely that I cannot imagine some of the reviews or the unfortunate soul they came across serving them. After all these years I can’t imagine not having discovered this place sooner. It seems popular with people who want quiet to work and parents who bring their young kids for a treat after school. Nicely situated just out of Cardiff and easy to get to we went for a breakfast. Quite a busy little place but as it is adjacent to a Premier Inn that is the reason mainly . Along with the cooked breakfast, you had choices of cereal, toast and yoghurt. The bacon was nice but the eggs were swimming in liquid and trying to actually get one one your plate was like a Fisherman trying to land a catch.... It just kept sliding off the slice utensil everytime. Only the bacon & beans were edible so didn't really entice me to benefit from the unlimited part. The 2 bowls of Kellogs cereal had to surfice. Also there was only plain Greek yoghurt, no other flavours so I suppose the bowl of fruit provided next to them was the 'flavoured' bit option. Nice atmosphere in the dining area and the staff friendly but the food isn't quite as it should be. Can't comment on other food options later in the day so hopefully better

Each course was a delight - small plates as per a taster menu, each was packed full of flavour, impeccably cooked and an exciting experience. Excellent restaurant with Michelin star quality food and service. We had the long tasting menu and each course was delicious. My wife is lactose intolerant and they accommodated to her needs with no issues. It is pricey but that is to be expected for the quality of food. Courses were weighted towards fish so non fish lovers would struggle with the tasting menu. But having said that I'm not a huge fan of fish but I enjoyed every course. The way the manager dealt with this mishap was great, although dissapointing, he managed to more than make up for it. I bought a pie there and it was cold which i could of gotten food poison if i didnt cook it . I also got a small bag of chips and i was expecting a portion of chips not less than a mug of chips.
