The atmosphere of the place is the main attraction; massive Elk Racks along the walls, artwork, and rustic wood cabin vibes. The coffee is above average. My mocha was a little sweeter and tasted like they use a syrup instead of powder which isn’t my preference. I had a latte in a prior visit and it was lukewarm. Their roast isn’t my favorite but, still decent. We didn’t try any food. They offer a variety of baked goods. Lots of seating and I loved the rock fireplace.

We had a group of 6 and liked the menu offerings at the Cottonwood Cafe. When we arrived, we found the Cafe to be small and cozy. We put our name in, and were advised it be about 40 mins. This place has to have been here for 40+ years and still serves up amazing burgers, fries/tots and super delicious milkshakes, traditional diner style. Pre-COVID you used to be able to walk in and place an order and they had a few booths inside with a big menu to view. Now they operate out of a window for placing orders which is simple and straightforward. Once your food is ready, a nice team member from their staff will come out to bring you your order. They have amazing BLT’s with Nice crispy toast and fresh lettuce and tomatoes to compliment the real deal bacon, no super thin cut crap like some other sandwich/burger places make the excuse of calling bacon. They can even add extra bacon to anything you order for a few for bucks. They do fries or Tots which is always fun and even Onion rings too! They can do you a single patty, a double patty or even a triple patty burger if you’re feeling hungry and they also have grilled mushrooms which are on their mushroom swiss burger, if you like that. This place is old school in a good way and a hot spot for lunch/dinner with locals and travelers passing through town on a weekend. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door. And were brought menus, and waters. This is a historic building, with decor to match the history. There are photos lining the dining room of old photos of Sisters. Their bar has a few slot machines for entertainment. I have never seen pork rinds on a restaurant menu before, and they were delicious! They were still cracking when they were brought out to the table. I ordered the Bison Burger - I love Bison burgers and you cant get them many places. It was cooked to perfection, the best flavor and so juicy. I added cheese and mustard to it and it was excellent. My boyfriend got the grilled cheese with bacon - it came out oozing with different cheeses. It was delicious, perfectly toasted and the bacon added a great flavor to the sandwich. Their fries are cut in house and we're so good. We were too stuffed for dessert but it sounded amazing. Again, I would Love the Recipe to it & the Pulled Pork! I have been to MANY Wedding's in my life & this Venue's food was the best I have ever tasted. There was an open Bar which EVERYONE said served the best drinks they had ever tasted, one called a Marionberry Lemon Drop & for our Dessert there was an open Cupcake Bar with the most mouth watering Cupcakes I have ever had. All were different flavors filled with Raspberry Compote & iced with a Butter Cream. I chose the Devils Food Chocolate with the Chocolate Butter Cream Icing. I wish this Venue were closer to my house because I would eat here weekly, YES it's that good. The building itself is Ski Lodge like with gorgeous wood, Vaulted Ceilings & unique Chandeliers. The views are incredible & although I have never Golfed, there was a huge perfectly groomed course with tons of Golfers, so it must be popular. The popular franchise had just 2 employees working & the process seemed out of wack when I got my order it was devoid of the ingredients I asked for: no lettuce, no onions & no chips that were paid for. I had to drive from the drive drive thru & go in to complete the order. The man making the sandwiches was very polite & apologetic, offered several cookies to show genuine care. The lady at the pick-up window was very nice, yet seemed a little overwhelmed. I know how difficult it is for restaurant owners to stay afloat in this inflationary economy along with a challenging labor market. I believe this franchise owner needs to make a few tweaks to the drive thru operation & things will improve. I will go back because I enjoy the food. ☆ I can recommend this & all Subway restaurants.
