I've been comparing basic breakfast plates around Portland and this one was the most expensive I'd had so far at $15.50, but it was high quality and eggs cooked perfectly over medium as requested. We went with the food truck option which was a huge hit with our guests of 62 people. Their food options were delicious and their beverages were refreshing as well. As a foodie from California, I recently flew to Portland and was fortunate to eat a delicious meal at Lovely’s Fifty Fifty. While my personal preference would be to increase the cheese to sauce ratio I thought the pizza was very delicious and would definitely order it again. For dessert, I ordered a scoop of mint stracciatella ice cream. I was not expecting the flavor of fresh mint leaves, but it was so delicious and refreshing. It was served in a chilled dish which I thought was an exceptional touch. While the food was decent, it ultimately fell short in several areas. Our experience seems to line up with a handful of more mid-reviews here: thoughtful, but not quite on par with Portland’s usual culinary standard, especially for the price. I thought the silken egg custard with dashi gel was the highlight, delicate and delicious (its only flaw being too small). The chilled kimchi consomme was interesting but reminded me a little too much of cold instant-ramen broth. I was also hoping the kimchi would tie the meal together, but it really needed more age and depth. We had high expectations and we're very excited to try it out. Service was good. We were not very impressed with the food. None of the dishes stood out above average. The duksu was very very salty. The decorations and lighting throughout the entire space including the patio and play area created a sense of distinct yet interconnected spaces throughout the whole area. And the wholesome service throughout the evening, built up on that cozy homely vibe. A point regarding their service that i deeply appreciated was the fact that they were openly communicative and mindful of the weather conditions that day and how their open space may affect some visitors. It was expected to be a hot summer day and since their space is an open one, they gave us a chance to reschedule if we needed to. Even though i wasn't expecting to cancel or reschedule, i felt throughly reassured to visit them on one of the hotter weekends this year, knowing that we would be taken care of! I was enamored by how salt and umami were intimately embraced by several of the offerings. As a salt fiend, it is sometimes a struggle, to find otherwise authentic dishes, that somehow haven't had a dash of sugar added to make it more palatable for the masses. Such transgressions weren't made here. For drinks this evening, we ordered the citron tea soda and pic 4 pic which were both wonderfully refreshing and the perfect pairings for a hot summer evening. For the accompaniments section, the chilled soup stood out the most for me. What i had expected to be just a palate cleanser turned out to be a spicy chilled soup which did its job well despite being spicy. The rice and pickles were other elements that i liked because of their simplicity, however the kimchi felt a bit underseasoned to me, but it could also be that this particular type of kimchi has a subtler taste than its bombastic cousins, which i enjoy a lot more. The banchans were where the music really started. My wife's favorites were the carrot with gochujang balsamic glaze and the kale and mustard greens with mushrooms and perilla dressing, however my favorite was the smashed cucumber with kim-chilli crisp and toum. All the banchans were very thoughtfully crafted, with flavor and texture in mind. The crunchy bits throughout each banchan truly elevated it. The portion sizes left us yearning for more, while setting the pace for what was to follow. While my words wouldn't do justice to the impact that the next dish had on my wife, i will try my best. The dry aged king salmon was a revelation for her. Not a fan of raw or cured fishes and meats, she was absolutely ecstatic after trying their salmon. She didn't find it fishy at all. This had NEVER happened to her before and her mind was throughly and unequivocally, blown. It was life changing! I enjoyed the disappearing act of the salmon as well, as it was melting in my mouth within seconds. The citrus soy and ikura were perfect accompaniments and the slivers of shoestring potatoes just added that finer touch of texture that made this dish the pinnacle of our experience that night. THIS is what fine-dining should be about! We were so emotionally connected to this dish that we asked a server for seconds and were rightfully told that their portions are fixed. The next dish in line was the crab and egg custard which changed our minds regarding the fact that custards don't always have to be sweet. But we couldn't forget about the salmon and asked Ness this time, if it was possible to get seconds. Ness inquired with the crew and one of the chefs happily came through by himself and served us another portion saying that they were happy that we enjoyed their dish so much. Props to both Ness and the chef for making our night memorable and sweet!!! The galbi-jjim was totally reminiscent of a homely meat curry! Savory and delicious. And the jangban guksu with dungeness crab was an absolute flavor bomb, even though the balance of flavors in the broth can still be improved upon. The tiramisu ended our beautiful night on a crescendo! We'll be back to try out the other entrees. The value for money at $65pp for the set menu, felt incredible!

I've heard abour tasting reaturants that are overtly snobby and have tiny portions of food for their price. Le Pigeon blew everything out of the water. The food was delicious, and the wine paring (which is an extra fee) was incredible. We had five courses and left feeling full by the end. I was also impressed by the vegetarian and non-alcoholic pairing selection one of my tablemates had. Their food was equally as well made as my omnivore selection and their NA drinks were delicious. A lot of places usually have these as afterthoughts, but this selection was rock solid! The menu changes, but the talent at this resturant is top notch. The quirkiness wore off after about 4 hours. The restaurants and bar staff are great. The rest of the hotel not so much. Our room was small and musty. The AC vent was caked in dirt and dust which most likely didn't help. Bed and pillows were ok. Not terrible, not great. The building has a soaking pool that is constantly filled and the entrance to the pool has lockers that you need to pay for to rent even if you're staying as a guest. The bed is old as are the pillows. Towels in our room smelled bad and were stained and dirty when we arrived. The shower head in our bathroom was gross. There is morning coffee in the wings but it was empty both times I tried using it. Had to walk to the front desk every day to get some and when we let them know it was out, they seemingly did nothing. Our room was not touched for 2 days by housekeeping and we didn't have a DND hook on. It's a fun place to walk around, the concept is cool. The grounds themselves are nice. The public WIFI is almost unusable. If you go into the boiler room you won't be able to connect with anyone at the hotel. It's essentially a black hole. We were here for a wedding that was at another spot and there was a welcome party in the gym the night before. The bartenders at the party were slow, rude and horribly inefficient. Two people attending the welcome party had stomach issues from the food that night. If you're thinking of holding an event there, look elsewhere.

When it was brought to table ther were no tarter sauce packs in it. I went to counter requesting the 2 packs. I was handed two that were stacked on eachother. The lower one had been resting on the shelf where food is passed through and heat lamps keep food warm. I immediately felt that the lower pack was warm. The upper pack was room temperature. When I opened warm pack it was curdled. We did not use it. After eating I went to tbe counter and told them tbey should store tbeir tarter sauce differently. 1 employee stated that "it probably got warm in tje box". It never was in the box as I had to go ask for it. Another employee stated that "it isn't hot up here" as tbey put their hand on shelf. Most of tarter sauces are in their boxes on the shelf but some are setting directly on the stainless steel shelf which has heat lamps below it. The cardboard boxes most likely keep the packs from getting hot but the few packs that inadvertently get set directly on stainless shelf get warm enough to curdle. Be aware of the next time you peel open your tarter sauce. Before you dunk check if sauce is curdled.

The flavor is just unreal in that dish. Chicken kabobs were great and then the PB chocolate baklava…amazing! We were visiting from out of state and so happy we found this place. It was so good we got extra food to go to eat the next day at our airbnb.

There’s a small market upstairs, hit that once your meal is over and stock up on some goodies especially the many flavors of Vareniki. I was insanely excited to see a brand of tinned fish I thought I’d only find when I visited Copenhagen. All in all, amazing experience that’s well worth it and I’ll be looking forward to returning. The worst dish is the Rabbit and Eel Terrine.
