We are staying at the W Hotel and The Angar is our standard for eating Indian food. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and sat outside, listening to the roar of the racing cars (music to my ears) and admiring the beauty of The W’s cyclic lights. Lastly, the tikka was smoky and tender and was ingested at light speed. The lamb was incredible, my wife said it’s her favourite lamb curry ever. Enough said. From the garlic and butter naans to the rice, everything was perfect. We ended the meal with raspberry sorbet. An absolutely wonderful meal at our favourite Asian restaurant in the UAE.

We had been wanting to try this restaurant out but just never made it their. It was late afternoon when we stopped by. We slowly opened the door to see if their were open for customers, the place was void of customers. We were warmly greeted and asked if we wanted a table or to just sit at the bar. We opted for the bar. The decor and overall atmosphere for Tamba is sexy and chic. The colors are warm and alluring and I can imagine the they shimmer in the dimmed lighting and candle glow. We had a great server who quickly shared his knowledge of the menu and assisted us in selecting a couple of items. My description of the menu is Indian fusion. Many of the dishes are high end interpretations of Indian street foods. Check out the crazy video in the images below. The kitchen is opened to the dining area and all our dishes were served quickly. We had a basket of assorted naan... it was over the top versions of naan and each was quite different. We had a great afternoon and look forward to going back as the weather cools down to enjoy their rooftop seating. The furniture is warm out and the table was rocky. The waiters were very attentive and ensured all items were okay for my wife to eat, as she is carrying a baby. My children booked the hotel as a surprise for me for my birthday and I was absolutely blown away by the hotel. Thanks to Gazella from Room reservations and all the lovely staff who took care of us at the Manor club ,a special mention to Magdalene for making it so special. The Deluxe suite was amazing and everything was super, the best bathroom towels,toiletries and bed sheets I have seen in a hotel in UAE. The attention to detail is very nice and I love the fact that the staff are so kind and attentive and made us feel completely relaxed and happy. We loved the food in the Manor lounge, was of very high quality and nicely put together. They have a good layout on the buffet table and still offer a hot meal at lunch time and during cocktail hour. The pool and spa are a must visit as well especially the lounge and bar at the poolside which has a great Seaview which stretches out across the Sea. You can swim until 10pm which is a real bonus as most hotels close the pool by 7pm. Thank you for making our stay so memorable and we shall definitely be visiting very soon again.

Initially it was a pop-up in the Urban Retreat area where we met the owner and enjoyed his traditional Caribbean style food, and life was never the same in Abu Dhabi after. Our visits to get takeaway seem to just need a no reason actually given we lived so close to the Mall and when we learned they would be leaving the mall and going independent we couldn’t have been happier. Fast-forward to last week, we finally manage to go to the new West to West Kitchen location on Salaam Street and loved the look and feel of the little place, there is limited dine in and as usual their delivery system was working non stop. We were told they had just introduced a range of trini style roti options so we just had to try, went with the chicken and the shrimp option with some of the spicy sauce and loved it. The roti is stuffed full of chicken or shrimp with roasted veggies and is a full meal in itself, the taste s absolutely divine. We also got our usual, the Oxtail Stew, the Goat Curry along with their signature jerk sauce and were happy to confirm the taste is still spot on, the oxtail has a nice bit of heat to it and the flavour is intense. If you are a foodie who likes to try the cuisines form around the world, then a visit to West to West Kitchen for the finest West Indian food in Abu Dhabi is a must. The food is great, the service friendly and the pricing is perfect, they also have meal options worth trying as well.
