A very relaxed atmosphere. The waffles were freshly made although a bit too crispy for my taste. However the chocolate sauces more than made up for it as they were rich and decadent... definitely worth it especially at the price. The milkshakes could have been thicker, but as far as taste went, they were all fantastic.

Very good waffles and tea! The waffle plate was very balanced with fruits, and the waffle itself was very crispy and delicious. I loved the tea as well which was served with a bite of brownie! It is in a good location and many students also visit here. I loved the atmosphere! ✨🍫

Amazing customer service by Eva and Pamela! This place has super busy peak hours, and I’ve honestly seen few employees at ANY business work as hard as these girls do, while still keeping a smile and a friendly attitude. I’m a big fan of the brownies, but everything is delicious.

What a stunning selection of chocolate and fruit desserts on a quiet street in Leuven in a beautiful modern building. It's nice to sit there and enjoy the best Belgian sweets. We tried the brownie, moelleux (lava cake), waffle and milkshake and were all pleased with the selection. They have a menu cart with a QR code that makes it easy to navigate through all the available options for each selection. For example, you can choose the type of chocolate and supplements. Waiting the food was a bit longer then we expected.

Delicious and homemade Ice cream, friendly staff, beautiful view of the University Library, and very good prices (1 scoop is 3 euros, but 2 scoops is 5,20, and 3 scoops is 7!!). How can you not become "decadent" whenever you pass by this gelateria...?

I had a really nice vegan chocolate milkshake. The vegan speculoos tasted really good too, so hopefully I'll get that one another time. And the server was very pleasant and spoke good English, so that was a bonus. The vegan milkshake cost 6.50 euro; I don't know whether that's high or low for a vegan milkshake in Leuven.

Grannifrutti Slush drink here is tastiest and best ove I ever had. I recommend anyone this one. They use the most expensive syrup brand that's why the taste is so good.

Wow. Great tasting Gelato at a really decent price. 2,20 Euro for a scoop on a cone. I got Mocha and it tasted like it had just been made. The cone was crisp. Fantastic to get and watch what ever is happening beneath the Totem. Might be a bit hard to find currently while renovations are underway.

Even though the queue is massive sometimes, the service is fast and the icecream is delicious! My favourite was the passion fruits flavour, if you like the perfect balance between sour and sweet that’s the one, I also recommend the raspberry flavour

Hands down 5/5 quality ice cream. ‘t Galetje is in a way quite charming, it’s got a nice seating area and it’s perfect located for both day and night time. Their ice creams are creamy, packed with flavors and the portions are humongous. It’s as good as it gets and the prices are fair and they offer some fun and different flavors too.

One of my go-to place for gelato in Leuven. Very good, but the price for it is quite high. They give discount per serving (-0.20 € per extra serving or so). I know places (not in Leuven) where they scoop 3 times their serving for 5 euro instead of almost 8€. But Leuven is a expensive city...

Just average food and a menu with simple recipes. This spot is clearly popular, as it filled up quickly, and we were lucky to get a table since we entered for lunch around 2PM. My pulled pork waffle was just okay – the flavors of both the waffle and the pork were completely overwhelmed by an excessive amount of sauce. It's a shame, because the components themselves seemed promising. My friend's tomato soup and soft-boiled egg were also just average - not that they are difficult to cook. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant enough. There were families with kids as well, but it didn't get noisy. I was hoping for more, and left a little disappointed. Perhaps their sweet offerings are a better bet than the savory ones?

So delicious. Food comes quite fast and is always really yummy. Lots of options for brunch and can pick between hot or cold sandwiches/waffles, healthy bowls, pancakes and more. Always come with friends and have never been disappointed! 😍

Visites Leuven for the day and happened to have lunch here. Great staff and flavors. We had a BLT waffle and another one with ham. Really tasty and nice.

Bar Leuv is a good place to try savory waffles. The waffles themselves are fluffy and slightly sweet, and there are a variety of cold and warm toppings. From what we tried, the Italian ham was good and the BBQ chicken was fantastic. What I didn't like about the bruschetta was that the bread slices were too thick, but the tomato topping was great. The atmosphere and service was good enough to enjoy the meal. I would agree with the rating 4.5-4.7.

Came here for lunch with colleages. The restaurant was packed. I really enjoy the BLT (bacon lettuce tomatoes chips avocadom cream). The combination of flavors on warm crispy toast works wonderfully. The iced latte macchiato was nice and creamy. Great place to have breakfast and lunch.

Nice little bistro with an interesting brunch menu. We tried the salmon waffle and the pulled pork waffle. The salmon and goat's cheese was a great combination, but the pulled pork was extremely sweet - a flavour we weren't quite expecting from the description, which promised a slight spiciness. Still, we enjoyed the brunch. The service was quick and very friendly.

Cozy and almost perfect place for vegans, unfortunately Pluxee card is not accepted. I would expect to be able to use the most popular voucher card, even if it has a small extra cost to the company. The prices are high enough to cover that.

Pancakes are really good! A bit on the pricey side but worth it. I was passing by this place always and I should have come here earlier. Haven’t tried the bagels but I will definitely come back here again to try.

This is my second time at this place and I was not disappointed. The pancake menu changes so what I ordered may not be available. I really enjoyed the pancakes, it’s fluffy and massive. The toppings taste nice as well. I went with my mom and sister and we all enjoyed it. My mom and sis got the chai latte and they wouldn’t stop talking about it. I had the chocolate and it’s so rich but it’s a bit too. sweet for me I added a dash of water and it was okay. I will definitely visit again when in Belgium. The service was excellent they were so entice and nice. We had ordered the bagel special to share but changed our minds for it to be takeaway and they kindly agreed and packed it up. All in all I love their service and food.

Stopped in on the way to Spa to see the F1 race. What a nice small breakfast spot. The pancakes are very creative and fluffy, there were some nice options and the presentation was awesome. The cafe is nice and well decorated with some nice animal artwork. The staff was very friendly. I would stop in here anytime!

Been here several times, tried hungry neighbors and the works. Both are tasty but liked hungry neighbors more, because it comes with scrambled eggs. The portion is big, love the sweet and salty taste. The latte is also quite nice. The only thing is that the kitchen is open, but it’s not a big problem.

A group of us wanted to try this place and it always looks nice but unfortunately it disappointed. Sorry to say that we all agreed it's probably one of the worst eating experiences we've had. The pancakes were extremely dry with the fruit and there was hardly a drizzle of syrup and nothing to make them moist. Felt like we were eating cardboard and found it difficult to cut into them. Unfortunately not a place we will be returning to. Nosh pancakes are definitely so much better.

As an Italian, I am very happy to see a real Italian coffee shop in Leuven! The vibe reminds me of my village. The tastes very good and the price is quite cheap for Leuven city center! :)

I went twice their , the first time we had sweet creps they were good but the next time i had a crepe with cheese and the water from the mozerella was still there! I don't recommend that and my friend had a pineapple juice and it was just like what you buy from the store. otherwise nice place

Lovely place where to have typical italian breakfast. My favourite: cappuccino and freshly baked nutella croissant ('cornetto'). Also crepes are really tasty. Staff is extremely nice and welcoming!

We frequently enjoy takeout from this establishment when visiting Leuven, but on this occasion, we dined with friends, and I must say it was one of the best meals we've had here. The pastries were delicious, not overly sweet, and truly delightful.

Delicious cakes and tartes. For Christmas I’ve ordered cakes really beautiful and delicious. Staff is friendly. Their online service is one of the best. Go there and treat yourself with a small sweet tart and a cup of fresh coffee or delicious tea or other beverages. Recently returned and it was as always excellent service and quality. I returned there a week ago. It gets better and better. They’re offering a lunch with croissant and salmon. Always delighted to go there

The Go Nuts was very delicious, good quality that is certain! (even if I would have made the crunchy bottom more chocolaty) But it’s really really freezing in there… doesn’t really make you want to stay and eat there. I had to take it to go.

Was expecting more. It was okay dessert shop with beautiful presented small cake. They offer many selection of small dessert and goes well with coffee or tea. We're family of four and agree that it was great but not mindblowingly good. The server also very kind and helpful explaining details about the flavor.

Best chocolate milk I ever had. They make it with their own dark chocolate from beans from Uganda. I also had the BCN, inspired by one of the owner's favorite city, so you know it's delicious.

A select choice of flavors, but the deliciousness totally makes up for this. Friendly service, who's willing to elaborate about the flavors of the history of the boat. Cozy and unique place, but might get a little crowded during peak hours.

Reasons to love this place: - changing variety, but obviously homemade; - clean and well kempt establishment riding gently on the waters; - eat ice-cream or sorbet on the deck of a ship; - the owners use an air compressor to quick dry their scoops. Meaning there is no contamination between flavors and no unsanitary practices; - free additional biscuit to take along with your ice cream; - they're not stingy with ice-cream.

Fantastic Pizza in Leuven. Decently priced menu with rotational starter, choice of Pizza and dessert. Trust the creations of the chef and stick to the ingredients listed rather than trying to adapt. Only reason for loss of star was the wait between starter and pizza took nearly 1 hours after numerous reminders. Great atmosphere and great wine.

Authentic Italian restaurant, most (or not, all) of the staffs are Italian. Ordered pizza margherita it was simple yet very fresh and tasty. I went there during a very warm afternoon, the indoor ventilation could be a bit better. Seemed like they were doing interior makeover, the outside dining area looks very cozy with the garden, and the inside looks a bit empty. Anyway, the staffs were friendly and helpful, also great pizza!

Fantastic food.Pizza and dessert had a true Italian taste, however it was extremely expensive. The tables are so close to others which you could hear and distract by the next to you.

I had a work lunch here. The food is very high quality. For some reason I had to eat a main dish that I did not order (it was delicious, but it was a cold dish of raw thinly-sliced beef, and at the time I preferred hot food). The waiter double checked our table's order after that course, but maybe they should double check at the beginning of every course for crowded tables like ours. I like their fancy cola and the dessert was really refreshing.

We came in 10 min before closing but the staff was friendly and polite to accept our order as we ordered take away. The prices are quite high but worth it as the pizza was very delicious. While we were waiting for the pizza, it was evident that the place looked nice and clean. Thank you!

Come here for the great food and nice presentation! The lunch menu always offers something new, offering ingredients and dishes I often didn’t try many times before. Our waiter was really friendly. The green, calm, garden terrace is a great plus in summertime. What I don’t like is that the kitchen staff was going back and forth with ingredients and bins between the kitchen and bar, which doesn’t really add to a serene, professional atmosphere. And I would add a candle or two, but for the rest I am definitely going to return soon, especially for the lunch menu!

Great crêpes for great prices! The portion sizes were also ideal for us: 2 crêpes per serving. We tried the Raspberry Jam and the Strawberry With Chocolate, and both of them were delightful. Mr. Crêpe is a great choice for sweet breakfast lovers in Leuven.

I don't know why the rating is so low, I was there twice and both times experience was pretty good. Nice chill atmosphere with slow jazz music, tables inside and outside are available, also an extra floor for another few tables. A menu looks like family-friendly with different variations of crêpes. Goat cheese is very tasty and very nice cider options. Like to go there for lunch.

What lovely people service delicious waffles. You can get a simple waffle or add chocolate, whipped cream, caramel, and other toppings including ice cream! In fact they have quite a few flavors and all look delicious. It's a storefront without indoor space so you take your waffle and eat it walking or on a bench nearby. The waffle is the right sweetness and the chocolate is actual chocolate not Nutella. Even with a line service is pretty quick. If I lived here I'd be a regular. Male yourself a favor and stop here when you are in town!

Just genuinely really nice vendors. My daughter's ice-cream fell on the ground and it was replaced, free of charge. The ice-cream itself is also delicious and the scoops are large.

If anyone visits Leuven, put these in upper list. Too good to taste. Both caramel and chocolate have been my favorite since I have tasted first. Due to my confusion, I always take both when I go. But take one, finish and then another one. If it’s in the air for some time, the taste won’t be so great. A must tasted waffle in Belgium.

Very unfriendly (male) staff and passive aggressive behaviors. I ordered an ice cream by pointing at them because I don’t understand the Dutch names. The staff aggressively said “say the name.” I was so shock of this lack of communication and politeness. The ice cream was small and mediocre as well. I would rather walk a few hundred meters to another shop. I don’t recommend.

I thought i can only find strong beer here in Belgium, but never cross my mind that l will try one of best icecreams ever. Had to come back few times to try different things. Flavours are great, and this place is in location you cannot miss. Be sure to check it.

The best ice cream shop so far in Belgium and one of the best (if not THE best) I've ever had, anywhere. We tried 4 flavours and could barely agree which one was better. The staff is friendly, the price is fair. Next week we'll come back to Leuven just to have this ice cream once again before my family goes back to Croatia. Stay as you are!

I am coming to Leuven for the first time, and my family knows I like ice cream, so they wanted to take me to the best shop in town. First impressions are really nice with a great visual presentation. Several different flavors, one better looking than the next. Everything went well while we were being served by one of the attendees. Very nice portions, and everyone was satisfied. Then it comes my turn to choose and I for some unknown reason tried to speed up the process and instead of waiting on the person already attending us decided to ask another attendee, mindful of the line behind me. Bad mistake, which I realized when she reached out to me with a very poorly served cup. I tried to hint her to that by putting it against another cup my family got from the other attendee. Unfortunately, that didn't trigger her to recognize her mistake. I am leaving this review in the hopes the standard can be set at the higher level. Please serve always the same to everyone and hopefully plenty and full portions.

Amazing place! A lot of nice flavours and especially a good variety of vegan options outside of the usual ones. Also interesting choices of sorbets. You can also get a gluten-free cone. Quantities are extremely generous and the ice cream is amazing. One of the best ones I’ve had in Belgium. Very kind service. Place is very cute also.

Too bad they’re out of cheesecake flavour. I shamelessly asked to try Lavender and Yoghurt flavours because I was sceptical but ended up buying both. Lavender is creamy and has just enough of sweetness while yoghurt with additional speculoos tastes just right. The owner is friendly too. Would love to come again and try other flavours 😍

Visited on a whim today and what a wonderful ice cream shop! The staff are super friendly, the ice cream is delicious, and the shop is so cute! They have plenty of vegan and sorbet options in a variety of flavors. I loved the coconut flavor! The portion sizes are generous and the cones (regular or bowl shaped) and spoons are edible. Props to reducing waste.I will definitely be back!

Chocolate was just ok in my book until I discovered Bittersweet chocolate in Leuven; now I’m hooked! Located on the main road leading from the train station, Bittersweet offers top quality pralines in unique shapes and less traditional flavors. One of the most notable is in the shape of a robot that is ginger flavored. There are a few other unique shapes including what looks like a Lego piece. As for the flavors, you’ll find some with cardamon, rice pudding, and popcorn. There’s a new flavor - dolce de leche - that was incredibly addicting! Aside from the pralines that can be purchased on the go quickly in small, medium €20 or large €40 boxes (you can also select the pieces you want), there are seasonal items too. Earlier this year around Easter time they had massive chocolate eggs that looked like they were spray painted accompanied by smaller eggs. Bittersweet also sells chocolate covered almonds in a jar for €12 that are also easy to give as gifts or else treat yourself. Belgium is synonymous with chocolate and after visiting Bittersweet on each return trip to Leuven, chocolate is now synonymous with Bittersweet for me. Excellent service, ability to order in advance, exciting flavors and consistent quality. Highly recommend!!

The chocolate is shaped in a modern style, and looks absolutely amazing. Moreover, the people are very friendly there, and ready to answer any questions about their chocolate. It is indeed home made, one can see it happen, as they are working on it right next to the costumers. Nevertheless, the taste is a bit artificial, which makes it inferior to other local Belgian chocolate manufacturies.

Good bread and good selection. But standing in line for 30 mins to buy 2 crossaints is ridiculous. No one running the bakery tries to speed up the buying process. Story of most bakeries in Leuven though. Also, please head to Korst for real sourdough.

I read it from the reviews on Google Maps that everything in this bakery is made from sourdough. God knows how long I have been looking for sourdough bread in Leuven. This bakery closes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can order the breads online two days before your pick-up day, then (I can only assume that) you can get your freshly baked bread on the pick-up day. I ordered a dark bread, a croissant and a cinnamon roll online and picked them up this morning. - The dark bread is indeed made from sourdough. It's very crispy on the outside, and moisture on the inside. It has a natural light sweet-sour flavor, which is exactly what I was expecting. - For those who love great croissants, their croissants won't disappoint you. Although I prefer having my croissant freshly out of the oven (burning hot), the croissants I received were quite pleasant. It wasn't warm, but the crispy level is quite satisfying. What impresses me the most is the distinct flavor of butter. I wonder how they managed to highlight the butter flavor without making the croissants too greasy. - The cinnamon roll is also a delight. It's sticky and sweet like a cinnamon roll should be, but not too sweet, and the bread is not soggy at all despite of the sugar frosting. They are also not cheap with the cinnamon. Good job! I suppose the only problem I have is that their breads are a little bit pricey. I give them four stars because there is always room for improvement. At least for now, I haven't been blown away by their product yet. All in all, it has been a nice experience. I will definitely come back for more. I'm already making plans for their multi-grain bread and nut bread.

Sourdough is not enough to make good products. The bread is just ok, the pastry is terrible, it feels like old bread already in the morning, don’t expect real croissants or any laminated dough. Service is unfriendly and unprofessional. I understand there is little competition in Leuven but you can do better.

It is a place with a good relaxing vibe, you find very good coffee, as well as very delicious sweets...there is free wifi and a table if you want to study/work with your laptop. Unfortunately, I have to say I never stay too long when it comes to work as there is a speaker right above the table and the music often does not match with the relaxing vibe of the place, also dirty cups stay too long on the table for my taste.

From all the coffee places in Leuven, Anna is my favorite! The coffee and baked treats are delicious. You can't deny the homelike atmosphere, when you are visiting Anna.

The waffles taste OK, but nothing special. The fruit toppings could be more generous and more elegant. It is clearly a take away place, do not expect any service inside. You can sit at one of the 4-5 tables (not very clean) and enjoy your waffles and drinks from single use paper or plastic plates, cups and cutlery.

The products of this franchise store have an industrial taste. Pancakes were thick for Belgian standards with little taste. Both Brussels and Liège waffles were not up to standards neither. Have had much better ones then these.

The first time in my life I've thrown a waffle away instead of eating it. Waffle was reheated, very dry and didn't have the sugar crust around it that a "Luikse wafel" should have.

A bit disappointing. I googled around (briefly) and their site seemed to suggest they were a quality waffle house. When my girlfriend and I ordered our waffle they just heated one up in the machine and lathered it in Nutella. It didn't seem to be the quality product they claim to be!

Was given a reheated instead of freshly made waffle. Waffle was limp, texture was nowhere close to what a proper Luikse waffle should be.

We got a wasp in our waffle without paying a supplement, lucky us! Crispy but not pleasant sadly. Wouldn't recommend it.

Very tasty home made ice-cream and ice-cream cakes; good selection of sugar free and lactose free ice creams. All flavours natural; ice-cream without artificial colouring or flavour enhancers. Friendly farmer lady running the business. The only drawback is plastic pots and containers. I'd gladly pay more for more environment friendly packaging. All in all, a highly recommended place.

I really love the tartes and tiramisu here! They have a fantastic taste, not overly sweet, which makes them even more delightful. Plus, the prices are quite reasonable. I bet you won't be able to resist having just one piece!

I thought the kofte quiche and Quiche Lorraine were excellent - fresh buttery pastry and good quality filling. My husband wasn't impressed with the salmon tarte and found it bland. Be sure to ask for a small size at €8 otherwise they'll automatically give you a large which is €24!
