Leuven Oude Markt is a lively and vibrant town square in Leuven, Belgium, known for its bustling atmosphere and picturesque surroundings. The square is adorned with charming open-air bars and restaurants housed in ornate gabled mansions, creating a delightful setting for visitors to enjoy shopping, dining, and nightlife. During the academic year, the population of the area is largely comprised of students, resulting in an abundance of cafes and student deals at restaurants.
Little gem of a town of the standard tourist track, with lovely medieval streets and plenty of cafes/bars/restaurants in the centre. Head out towards the Begijnhof to experience some really old cobbled streets that seem to be untouched by modern standards

Beleuvenissen was so amazing, will definitely come here again. After that everyone was partying in de pubs up until 6 am. Incredible vibes, 5stars
Juan — Google review
I visited Oude Markt in Leuven and was instantly charmed by its lively vibe. With terraces filled with people and historic buildings all around, it truly feels like the heart of the city.
Ruben K — Google review
The Oude Markt in Leuven (Belgium) is one of the city’s most famous landmarks and gathering places. It’s often nicknamed “the longest bar in the world” because the entire square is lined with cafés, bars, and restaurants, one next to the other.
Jelena R — Google review
Lively spot in the center of Leuven. The Oude Markt is full of terraces, cafés, and great energy at any time of day. Perfect place to meet friends, grab a drink, and enjoy the local atmosphere. Always something happening here.
Cris S — Google review
The place is phenomenal. Cafe places are crowded, but they are very lovely. You can find everything over there: cafe places, restaurants, fast food, bars.. etc. It is better to walk around.. don't rely on a car because some streets are very narrow and cars are not allowed there. If you are looking for history, entertainment, and fun time. This is the best place

City Hall

The Historic Leuven Town Hall, located on the Grote Markt, is a stunning example of 15th-century Gothic architecture. Adorned with spires and 236 sculptures representing local scholars, artists, and nobles from the city's history, it stands as an iconic sight in Leuven. Despite surviving wars and even a WWII bomb that failed to explode, the town hall remains an impressive symbol of resilience.
The Royal Palace of Brussels (Palais Royal de Bruxelles) stands as a prominent landmark in the city and serves as the official palace of the Belgian monarchy. Situated in the heart of Brussels, it faces the Brussels Park (Parc de Bruxelles). While it is not the royal family's residence—they live in the Castle of Laeken—the palace hosts official state functions and events.
Onur O — Google review
This building is certainly one that has impressed me the most while visiting Leuven. It is centre of Leuven. Leuven's Town Hall is the historic city's pièce de résistance. Moreover, it's one of the best-known Gothic town halls worldwide. It took three architects and thirty years to build it. Leuven's 'Hall of Fame' features 235 statues, which were only added to the facade after 1850.
Shubham M — Google review
A beautiful building in the center of Leuven with 235 statues to admire. It’s a must see if you are visiting Leuven. There are daily one hour tours in Dutch and English and on the weekend in French. In these tours you visit the interior of the building while learning about the history. The cost is 4 euros and you can buy tickets in the tourist office around the corner. Starting in September 2024, this building will be closed for renovation until 2029. So if you want to take a tour, I would recommend doing it now!
Courtney C — Google review
Magnificent and Magical - this is the most iconic spots in Leuven. Don’t forget to book a guided tour if you want to visit the interiors. The inside of the town hall is well preserved with wooden ceilings and chandeliers transporting us to that era. Very beautiful!!!
Niranjana S — Google review
Such a beautiful city hall, happening square. Especially great in winter with Christmas lights. Preferable to go at-least once and to keep in your bucket list.
S G — Google review
This city town hall is one of most beautiful hall, it's just stunning with the little detail of arts. Especially, with the sunset light reflex toward the Hall, just gorgeous.
Pasan S — Google review
This is the best-known Gothic town hall. Leuven's 'Hall of Fame' features 235 statues Which took three architects and thirty years to build it.
Barbie P — Google review
Spectacular building with a Flemish Gothic façade, although the remains of Leuven's first town hall, built in 1439 and located on the main square, are no longer preserved. It has been destroyed and rebuilt three times in the last hundred years, the last time after the Second World War. On the outside we can see 236 statues, all of them of important figures in the history of the city, arranged by floors: on the ground floor we find academics and artists, on the ground floor religious figures, on the first floor members of the nobility and finally, at the top of the towers, scenes from the Bible are represented.

The Stella Artois Brewery in Leuven, Belgium, is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and travelers alike. This renowned brewery offers guided tours that provide insight into the brewing process and the history of Stella Artois, one of the world's best-known beers. Visitors can witness the entire production process and even learn how to pour a perfect glass of beer before indulging in a tasting session.
I did the Brewery tour, was so informative and 4 free tastings if you are able to get them all down in 15 minutes hahaha Of course, I did and the last one was a 10% beer, was really nice amazingly
Jamie S — Google review
Does not honor rebate offers advertised in store. Will avoid your product and marketing traps moving forward. Submitted as instructed and told I didn't pay enough to qualify. Ruins what was a nice beer for me. Don't appreciate false offers or being yanked around by false promises. Should be illegal.
Mike N — Google review
Really nice but you don't get to see too much of the process itself. The bar at the end of the tour is good and you get a bag with beers that's nice as well. Overall a nice experience.
Ricardo A — Google review
I went here today and had such a great time learning about the history of Stella Artois! Our tour guide did an incredible job of connecting with the audience and adding some humour to the presentation! I hope more people get a chance to experience this. :)
Sean M — Google review
Firstly. Bar keep best you could have. Knowledgeable, quick and plenty of beers. Lad with glasses and brown hair. Sorted us out with travel recommendations. Also showed us the secret tap. Great easy to make your money back in beer. Would recommend. Great tour.
B — Google review
I enjoyed witnessing the entire beer brewing process and touring the bottling plant. The atmosphere was fantastic, and my friends had the opportunity to sample various brands of beer for free. Must visit✅
Suyash J — Google review
Not really a tour, more an experience. Sat in a room watching tv too long. History of Leuven from 1300’s isn’t Stella! Saw some kettles and a bottling plant. No “wife beater” hats in the gift shop. Something to do and say you’ve done.
Dylan M — Google review
We love Stella Artois ! It is our favourite beer so we planed a visit to the place where magic happens…we had to book tickets with 3 weeks in advance and we had the trip to Leuven based on the date we could find a free spot to visit Stella Artois brewery…we had a english speaking guide who walked us and told us the amazing story behind this tasteful beer…the story, it goes back to 1366, is wow, the process of making the beer itself is long and has lots of steps…anyway, it was an hour and a half well spent and at the end we were invited to the brewery bar to taste some fresh and cold Stella Artois ! Cheers !

The store pays special attention to Belgian designers such as Dries Van Noten, Haider Ackermann, and Natan, showcasing top-quality items from their collections.
great shop for vintage clothing. my nicedt cloths for all occassions come from there
Elissavet L — Google review
Love, love this shop, but I really think the price point is too high on many items, as they're mostly on trend items than timeless pieces. More stock would be sold if even 15-20% was taken off most ticket prices. Some Essentiel Antwerp stock is even cheaper in the outlet down the road. Love the concept but a lot of stock is staying there for weeks/months because of price.

Supermarket
Always nice experience, especially the older gentlemen. We can practice basic Dutch conversations with him. He is always very helpful.
Almir O — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience at this store. The staff were not friendly or respectful towards customers and spoke loudly in a language I didn’t understand while I was trying to communicate in English. Their lack of smiles and warmth made the experience even worse. Service should be friendly and understanding, but I felt overlooked and unwelcome. There should be better training on customer service
Amily M — Google review
The owner of the shop is a grumpy old man who is not kid friendly at all. You should avoid this supermarket at all costs if you have kids. He shouted at me in front of everyone telling me that I cannot let my kid walk in the supermarket, that he can’t touch anything, that people like me who don’t know how to educate children shouldn’t have kids and on and on. Some people just shouldn’t be given power so that they don’t find the right in themselves to talk to customers in that way and attack them verbally.
Irem P — Google review
It’s one of the wonders in Leuven as it is open Saturdays til 12! As a foreigner I found it weird that most of the big chain stores are closed at weekends! I’ve never got that! Or closing by 20:00!
Mohammad G — Google review
I appreciate this medium-sized market as a foreigner living in this neighborhood for years. Not all staff can speak English since this is a fairly local shop, but most of them are patient and willing to communicate. The fresh loins and nice wines there will be in my memory.
Shiwei W — Google review
Quite likely the most customer unfriendly supermarket I have ever visited. Been to the supermarket multiple times and the customer is consistently treated poorly. First year students are told to stay away from this shop and I didn't take it that seriously, but all considered I quite comprehend why now. Just a few examples: - If you ask where a product in the shop can be found 9/10 times they will simply give a vague location and then continue their work. In other shops the norm is that they will walk with you to the product and point it out. - When mistakes such as incorrect pricing labels are made they will even go as far as accusing the customer of doing this instead of apologizing. I tend to remember prices quite well and check them directly afterwards, so I encounter this in more shops and about half give you the product for the price of the label and the other half simply apologizes. I have never been treated the way this shop acted. - When searching through town for a specific international product I simply asked in every supermarket whether they had it. In every single one except this supermarket the answer was 'no, but let me think, maybe you could check there and there'. In this shop the response was 'No.' - When wishing to place a customer complaint I got told I should have done that within a certain extremely short time period (forgot how many days it was, but it was counted in days) and that it was now too late... I don't even have words for that. And that's not even all, but regardless, point in case: even if one of the other supermarkets is farther away it's definitely worth going to the others. There even is a Delhaize not that much farther away on the ring if you like the Delhaize in general.
David M — Google review
Almost everything needed on a daily basis, with good quality, nice customer service and long opening hours. Not very cheap though (although not extremely expensive either). It also has a B-post counter (for sending letters or pick up deliveries).
Sara A — Google review
worst customer service in this store. The man at the main desk is very disgusting. Recently the man is having a flu and he is supposed to change his gloves and disinfect his hands after cleaning his nose since the world is facing corona disaster. The man doesn't do that and I found him somehow racist. He is never friendly and every time its my turn at the cash desk he tells me to go and stand at the second cash desk where there is already a queue. He then scans the goods and throws it instead of collecting on the other side nicely where we can put it in the bags. Never ever going to this store again.

So many amazing second hand clothes on their shelves, I always find something when I enter. The woman there is also extremely passionate and friendly, I always enter and leave with a smile on my face. Thank you!

If you can explain to me how €45 is a good price for a second-hand pair of jeans, or €30 for a tank top, maybe I'll find this place to be better. But the prices are absolutely absurd. €120 for a used pair of unbranded sneakers? Are you insane? Won't be coming back here. At least the guy at the front desk was friendly.
Samantha W — Google review
High quality second hand finds at a fair price. Especially the shoes and handbags!
Mia P — Google review
A few years ago, I had a good experience with the store. The lady behind the counter was a straightforward business woman, but I received money from a luxurious item I sold there. More recently, however (in the last three years approximately), a couple of two men are always there and since then I had bad experiences in terms of interaction. No sympathy whatsoever and some snobism that is not justified (I have always been there as a prospective seller of design clothing items and I always felt as if they thought they were doing me a favour).

Tried to visit this antique store on three different weekdays—each time between 2 and 6pm, as clearly stated on their website. Every time? Closed. I even called ahead and was assured they were open.
