I visited Oude Markt in Leuven and was instantly charmed by its lively vibe. With terraces filled with people and historic buildings all around, it truly feels like the heart of the city.

The place is phenomenal. Cafe places are crowded, but they are very lovely. You can find everything over there: cafe places, restaurants, fast food, bars.. etc. It is better to walk around.. don't rely on a car because some streets are very narrow and cars are not allowed there. If you are looking for history, entertainment, and fun time. This is the best place

A beer lovers paradise with ove 40 bars Cafe Belgium was my favourite

A brewery that has been around long enough to be considered an institution in town. The decor is classic tavern style, cozy and warm. They brew their own beers and also offer a wide variety of bottled ones. The food menu includes their famous pasta, along with local dishes, many of which use their beers in the recipe. The spaghetti Bolognese comes in a large bowl and is surprisingly satisfying. Their recipe is not classic but somehow it's tasty. A great place for a beer and comfort food.

Domus was a great «brauhaus» to visit and dine in, especially since it was both dark, cold and rainy outside during out visit. The venue is the polar opposite of the outside we were in - warm, charming, relaxing and inviting! Their meals are hearty, filling and tasty and their very own homemade beers are also a plus. All in all was Domus a great visit, the food was generally quite good and the venue nice and the workers friendly and chatty, but it was hard to get ahold of them, it could sometimes be quite noisy and some of ours foods lacked some flavor and aroma. Still, Domus is a great place for a hearty meal.

Came in for an early lunch while killing some time on a Sunday waiting to check into my room. Had the Domus beer sampler (Pilsner, Brown, and Strong White), along with the Flemish Beef Stew with a small salad and fries.beer and food was good. The bar/restaurant was spacious, the atmosphere good, the service was very friendly. I'll probably be back to try some other beers, and also their wings that others have recommend in other reviews.

We tried their beers, Belgian dinner plate for two and mussels, it was great. Location is perfect, service as well.

We ordered multiple dishes, for the starters the Shrimps garlic butter was delicious, the salad with cheese mozzarella was nice, the fried potato was okay. The main dishes i had filet which was very dry i couldn't eat it, the spaghetti was decent, the hamburger was also a bit overcooked. The cream brulee dessert was not good also. The drinks and cocktails were good. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the location is good in city center, we didn't enjoy the food that much.

This restaurant is huge with so many rooms and levels with an outside area but you can’t reserve it online. Had a great Flemish stew and their own beer. All the food was good and came quickly. The waiters on the other hand were spread thin and took forever to get served. I’ve been here in different seasons and it’s the best place in town to eat.

Love the guide, very passionate, informative and kind. Appreciate the bartender, sweet and responsive. The content was great, but I guess the company does not want to show you the brewery at all. Out of 2 hours, sitting and looking at the screen was like 1 hour, 30 minutes of drinking and 30 minutes of walking time.

Does not honor rebate offers advertised in store. Will avoid your product and marketing traps moving forward. Submitted as instructed and told I didn't pay enough to qualify. Ruins what was a nice beer for me. Don't appreciate false offers or being yanked around by false promises. Should be illegal.

I went here today and had such a great time learning about the history of Stella Artois! Our tour guide did an incredible job of connecting with the audience and adding some humour to the presentation! I hope more people get a chance to experience this. :)

Interesting tour. No one to greet you as you arrive, and you must arrive early to get your tour. Lots of walking, and not much time to enjoy the workings of the brewery. Photography is limited. Cold beers at end of tour, but not much time to enjoy them. Check what is available on tap.

We love Stella Artois ! It is our favourite beer so we planed a visit to the place where magic happens…we had to book tickets with 3 weeks in advance and we had the trip to Leuven based on the date we could find a free spot to visit Stella Artois brewery…we had a english speaking guide who walked us and told us the amazing story behind this tasteful beer…the story, it goes back to 1366, is wow, the process of making the beer itself is long and has lots of steps…anyway, it was an hour and a half well spent and at the end we were invited to the brewery bar to taste some fresh and cold Stella Artois ! Cheers !

Legendary. De Blauwe Kater is without doubt a must visit bar in Leuven. Above all is it fun, inviting and social. Decorative, busy and bustling as well as energetic and alternative. The workers are quick and professional, the clients mixed in all regards and their drinks, beers and more good. The atmosphere is remarkable and it’s almost hard to leave once you find yourself at a table with a beverage in hand among other friendlies.

Definitely the best bar in Leuven. The vibe is really cool and lively. It's not right in the centre (but very near) so it's not as crowded as other bars. Ofc, besides Mondays, when you can enjoy live jazz. They offer variety of beers, so everyone will be able to pick something. Truly, the best experience.

Very tasty meat chowder with bread. Generous serving. Mostly young ambiance. Just wish tap water was served for free :) Recommended!

We ordered two wraps. While my partner enjoyed the wrap, I didn’t. The plate, on which my food was brought, was dirty. It didn’t make my meal pleasant. The drink was far too basic for being home made and 4 euro’s (store juice). The homemade lemonade is just water with a little lemon juice in it. The price for the amount of food was decent. It’s really a place for students, which makes the atmosphere lively and fun. The outdoor setting is also spacious. We enjoyed the vibe of the place, but not the food. Just manage your expectations for this place.

Nice atmosphere and friendly vibe. The onion soup was really good, but I didn’t love the meatloaf with cherry sauce and the chowder with meat balls and chicken. Overall, the food seemed good quality, just not all to my taste.

The staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The young waitress who served us even asked where we were from, and we chatted for a bit. The portions are huge, and please don’t be put off by the presentation – my husband got his stuffed bread in a plastic container with a lid, we received our tortilla on a plastic tray, and the salad came in a plastic bowl. Despite that, the food was delicious and excellent. It feels like having lunch at your grandparents’ house.

The outdoor seating was a great feel. Went there after reading good reviews about the place and I was not disappointed. The portions were adequate and decent price. Definitely recommended.

I'm strongly recommended trying chicken fricassee chowder. Its delicious!!! 😋😋😋 Also the establishment has high chairs for children and a place to change diapers. Very convenient if you plan to visit Dewerf with a child.

Being a cocktail and alcohol lover i was there with my friends. I have heard a lot about this bar as well 👍🏽I loved the varieties of drinks available 👍🏽Bartender was ready for every cocktail i named 👍🏽She was very courteous, she even recommended some drinks that we were unsure and confused 👍🏽We had Gin Basil smashed , strawberry margarita was 👌👌👌 👎Food was just ok ⭐️Shout out to the lady bartender, yaaile( im bad at names) Will visit next time for others. 2nd visit Was a great experience too with same colleagues. ⭐️tried mock-tails today, wasn’t up to the mark as expected. ⭐️cocktails were almost the same as yesterday. ⭐️recommended food and drinks by PETER (one of the employee) was great, shout out to him

Food is good, location is also good as it is at the center of the city more or less. Price was acceptable as well. Being in Belgium means having the ability to choose from a huge variety of beers. Maybe this place does not have the widest variety, but for a tourist, the variety is big enough

Bar Nine (former Ming Dynasty) is one of my mum's favorite hang out place (especially during the World Cup, her friends and she would save spot just to be there). The workers are friendly and service was good. I really like restaurant's interior inside and outside (it's very relax atmosphere and no wonder it's popular among all age). I do understand that prices are a bit pricey for what you get. But the taste of the side dish and cocktails are very good! So far, it's the best Long Island Ice Tea that I have ever got in Leuven and well presented as well (most of the cafes I know are pretty stingy when it comes to amount of alcohol they pour it in cocktails). So far, I have been to Bar Nine for two times and they did left me with good impression (even though they forgot about my "gemarineerde kippenboutjes" and I needed to remind them, all the rest was fine). I will definitely go back for sure and for those who are curious they accept meal vouchers such as Sodexo and Edenred!

A nice place on the wonderful on the Oude Markt of Leuven, the have a nice collection of beers and cocktails and a cosy terras with pillows and blankets for when it gets a little bit chillier in the evening. They make beautiful cocktails, very tasty, though a bit expensive.

Cosy bar at the beginning of the beautiful big square. It has a nice terrace with comfortable sits. The menu has a really wide selection of cocktails and other drinks, also some special beers. Prices are a bit higher than normal, but the quality pays back. The snacks are also not bad at all, recommend the crunchy Belgian fries and shrimp balls! The staff should be more friendly tho

Used to be a good bar untill some rubbish girls with no hospitality and client service experience started working there. This girl literally poured the whole tray of drinks on us and didn’t even apologise nor even gave a towel for us to dry after 5 minutes of waiting. Worse thing the so called manager with “no management skills” made us pay the first round of drinks and snacks (around 70 euros) insteasd of compensating and excusing themselves. Like hello??? I wrote a complaint straight to the owner of the restaurant who later called me and apologized but that doesn’t change the behaviour of her workers and what they did to us. Rather go and find other bars, you have plenty of options. Recommended:Sinatra

Had the best Fresh filter Coffee of my life. Very easy to drink, Great flavor , Not sour not bitter but they extracted the beans at the right point. Everyone at the service smiles and welcoming. They were so kind to explain their making of my coffee. Fantastic ambience. Could see how good coffee makes people very talkative and buzzing around🙂. Finished the drink with their delicious milk chocolate that accompanied with the coffee. Parking: If you are coming by car like me, the nearest closed parking is Parking Ladeuze.

I like this spot. I come here for a day trip and was referred by Nosh another location to Madmum. If you love coffee, matcha or chai anything. That is the spot for you. It seems to be pretty much a student city so most caterers and waiters are students. Love their perfectly moist carrot cake too. First time trying strawberry iced matcha and I like it!

Friendly service. Very busy place. Drinks can take awhile to arrive. Love the overall casualness of the space but it's unfortunate that it very hard to get data connection. Otherwise it would be a 4 star from me. But maybe they provide free WiFi. I didn't ask the staff but there wasn't any WiFi key on the wall or counter.

Our first time here, and we instantly fell in love with this place! The interior is both unique and cozy, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the girls working here are incredibly kind. We were especially happy to meet the barista – our fellow Ukrainian – which made us feel right at home. The coffee is simply outstanding, and the fact that it’s dog-friendly is the cherry on top. One of the best coffee in Leuven... Their desserts are always sooo delicious! My favorites are cinnamon rolls and crumble. It's almost always crowded, might get a little noisy too. There are tables that you can sit and study and there are also "no laptop" tables that people who wanna enjoy their coffee can sit and chat. It's KU Leuven students' favorite cafe I'd say!

The three stars is due to: I used to love being there very much before the terrible experience from today :( It used to be my top favorite escapes from the daily routine for a good quality coffee, but very unfortunately today I was treated very badly, with the misfortune of being served by one of the people (the other people were always very nice and kind to me) who, without the slightest patience, decided to yell at me and bang on the table while saying "oh okay, so you really want a v60" and leave without letting me react.... at the time I was still paralyzed trying to understand what message she was trying to convey to me by saying "we are very busy, it will take a long time, how much time do you have" and surprisingly my lack of response because I was still trying to reason about what the central message was led her to freak out for no reason... I felt terrible and I'm wondering if I'll still go back there :/ ... nobody likes to be treated like that, right?

I’ve been a regular customer for almost three years. Since it’s right next to my home, I’ve recommended this place to many of my friends as well. However, what happened today left me seriously disappointed. I came in during a busy hour, and since I didn’t want to occupy a table for just one drink, I asked to take it away instead. I was told that they wouldn’t be able to help me today because they were "busy." Being told by a café I’ve been visiting for years that they can’t serve what I asked for—and without even offering an alternative like waiting—felt like being turned away, and it really upset me. I couldn’t understand it, but I was truly disappointed. I hope you don’t treat your loyal customers—those who are willing to forgo sitting just to enjoy something from your café—this way.

The only thing available for savoury hot breakfast is sunny side up. The hot menu items begins only at lunch. Service was friendly and the space is nice. The drinks were good too. Update: dropped by again to try their lunch menu. It was delectable and fresh.

Staff is very friendly and also the place is great for a glass of wine in the terrace. The kitchen, however, could be improved. It's not required to have only snobish plates, even tho, I value creativity... I think it's overdone. I will give still four stars because I value local and small places, but kitchen could be better! :) keep it up and take my criticism as a friendly comment.

True hidden gem of Leuven. Price quality top notch. Very well prepared menu, lots of options and all with quality ingredients. Had the Duroc pork chop with Witloof. Lovely spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great selection of wines and lots of craft beer options.

I was speaking on the phone in a normal voice, in a different language. The bartender asked me to lower my voice because a group holding a meeting there was annoyed. The café was busy and not quiet to begin with, so I chose to leave. Expecting silence for a meeting in a coffee shop—and having the bartender enforce it—is not something I’m willing to accept. Edit: literally everyone was louder. I could not hear myself talking. The café was busy and far from quiet, yet I was the one singled out while others were louder. Perhaps your “decibel meter” is more sensitive to "certain voices."

Amazing atmosphere, tip top vibes, beautiful venue and in general very inviting, comforting and in a way quite intimate. Neatly decorated and located centrally. Leuven Central offers a great variety of national and local beers as well as snacks and meals, and the workers are kind and friendly. All in all is it a great and somewhat unique bar to hop into while in town.

My wife stopped by this café to enjoy a beer and relax (26/08/2025 around 15.00 u.), but the experience was anything but pleasant. The waiter (a man probably in his 40s, of average height, and not very professionally dressed) was incredibly rude and impolite from the moment she arrived. No greeting, no smile, and a very dismissive attitude when she asked about the menu. He pretended not to understand her even though she speaks Dutch fluently). It felt like she was bothering him just by being there. Really disappointing service — We won’t be coming back.

A lovely cafe with a very cozy sitting area and beautiful interior. The staff was very nice! I ordered an espresso macchiato for dine in and they served it with sparkling water. The espresso was a little acidic but overall a really nice cafe :)

Easy to spot with its modern building design. The server is friendly and speak english. Ordered hot Nutty Latte, it’s sweet and you can still taste the hazelnut flavor. It’s pretty crowded, not much seating available. Feels like the hangout hotspot

Don't hesitate to ask the barista's advice, they are always very friendly and willing to suggest the best coffee for you. The best coffee in town with a large range of options, including coffee, tea and smoothies. They also offer lactose-free options and some small pastries like muffins, croissants and brownies. Very reasonable pricing which makes this place especially popular with students.

It was very spacious and cozy and the Barista was friendly enough. the coffee was okayish, but both cakes that we ordered were amazing!!! highly recommended!

It is a customer’s nightmare. We waited 35 minutes for our order to find out that it was not in the system. They have 3 cakes in the menu, 2 of them and other custom one at the bar, were unavailable. Hard to believe that this business is still running. Do not recommend.

A Culinary Journey at Baracca! We recently had the pleasure of dining at Baracca, and we must say it was an unforgettable experience! Such a great experience! We started with the pork bao buns and the wagyu tataki. Both were so delicious, then we had the Winter is Coming pizza with truffle and it was divine. The staff were super friendly and organised and everything was made fresh in front of you. Amazing!

Good food, excellent service & lovely atmosphere! These guys work with a system of getting a minimum amount of side dishes before your main. At first I thought that was excessive but it turned out to be the right amount & I left satisfied. I'll be back!

We came out of curiosity for the ambiance and the review. We were pleasantly surprised by the service, our waiters have been super friendly. We think we could be improved is the food. For the price point we expected everything to be prepared with culinary skills and thoughts. We were relatively disappointed by the simplest and the bland taste of the 2 dishes we ordered. The shrimp is simply covered with a premade sauce that can be found made in the supermarket, the tacos 🌮 are nicely fried but has not much any flavor. The pizza was the nightlight but the proportion feels small compared to the to the price that it costed. We have an overall nice finning experience with very kind server. If the cooking quality of the food improves we would love to recommend our friends and family to visit again.

I love this coffee shop. The people there are enthusiastic about coffee and tea and talk about them in the same way you would approach wine. The entire encounter with the staff made me want to buy more coffee to try and compare. My only regret is that I did not try the summer specialty drinks.

Lovely little coffee roastery and tea place. We dropped in for a light coffee and snack for breakfast. I had a cappuchino and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was warm and tasted delicious. My husband had the dirty chai, which could have been a bit stronger ( for my taste)

Really aestetic place in Leuven. The waiters were super nice (they even charged my phone). There were 2 different choices of espresso: a strong one and a more fruity one (this was pretty good). With every order you can take a little chocolate confection. It’s certainly not the cheapest option in Leuven, but if you are looking for great quality and service I would recommend it.

We stoppen by for a quick bite and had a delicious cheese board with home made ginger lemonade. Staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was chill!

Creative kitchen and nice concept of dish size options. We tried nectarine with halloumi, mats with jalapeno, cannelloni. Everything was tasty. Mats(fish) was more like an appetizer, nectarine like a salad - small size was enough for me, cannelloni was a very filling dish and middle size was quite enough for my partner. Tasty beer, no beer samples. Nice place for late dinner. Kitchen is closed around 10 pm.

Love the idea of different portion sizes €8/16/24! Got to try different main dishes (in pic: duck breast and pasta, both €8 size) even as a solo diner. Food was super! Plenty of nice seating both in- and outdoors. Happy to return :)

It’s really bad when you ask the waiter and tell the waiter he have our food we just wanted to get some drinks to go along with the food, he tells us that’s possible and is good with eve try thing sees the sandwiches on the table. As we are eating tells us no you can’t eat here, like what we just talked to you about this and you said it was ok. That’s twisted and not right, be up front first.

Very tasty food, definitely will return with friends. I got the chow mei, ribs and lemonade. The chow mei was very flavorful and the lemonade looked beautiful. I ordered the smallest portion for everything but perhaps one medium one small would have been more satisfying? We sat outside so it was quite windy and chilly, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless.

A delicious tapas-style restaurant. Had the corn (medium) and bao buns (medium) which each cost 16 euros. We thought this was a bit pricey but have to say the taste was definitely up to standard. We also had the nachos (9.50) and a goats cheese bagel (7.50) which were quite filling so overall a great meal. For drinks they have some nice Belgian beers on tap such as Karmeliet and Kwak. Service was a bit slow even for Belgian standards and I think the outside area could be nicer. Definitely worth a visit if you like good food though.

I visit MOK Coffee every time I’m in Belgium for a great cup of coffee. This time, I also picked up some coffee beans (Colombia, Inmaculada Coffee Farms, Honey *filter only* €28.00 + Ecuador, Cruz Loma, Honey €17.50 + Ecuador, Cruz Loma, Washed €38.00) for my husband, a coffee enthusiast. While the coffee is great, the staff could have been friendlier when I asked about the beans. Nonetheless, it’s a lovely little café.

Excellent coffee. We were three of us. We tried the cappuccino, flat white, coffee of the day and cortado. The coffee was amazing. You can actually taste the coffee bean flavour in your coffee. The staff seemed very friendly too. I will return again for the coffee. I recommend this for coffee for coffee lovers. A must try place if in Leuven.

Located on the square at the hip new Vaartkom quarter of Leuven. The weather was fantastic so we could sit outside on the extended terrace on the square, the big parasols provided ample shade. Nice concise lunch menu, going from the typical simple subs, over grilled cheese, spaghetti, to the shareable starters. Solid drinks choice, like most places, wine/beer/non-alcoholics Swift and friendly service. Definitely a nice spot for a quiet afternoon meetup with friends

Very nice spaghetti and Tiramisu. Overall food and drinks are cheap. Sitting outside can be a bit uncomfortable due to the smell of the marina which is nearby.

The spaghetti is good as it always has been, you get a lot for the price. Took the mango salad as well, but this was a bit disappointing. It was a lot of money for what you got: almost no fresh ingredients except for the mango. I would not take the salad anymore, but for the other plates I would still recommend.

Excellent location for a nice afternoon/evening with food and drinks. The staff are fast and polite, and the view of the Vaart is very pleasant. The food was generally very good. I have been there many times and I always enjoyed it. Recommend it anytime.

I’ve been here before & enjoyed it but last night the service was disappointing, even though the food & cocktails were still tasty. We had to repeatedly ask for basics like napkins, cutlery, and plates! When we ordered two pitas for four people, the waitress refused to cut them in half! More surprisingly, despite ordering individually via the QR code (with each person’s name listed) we paid everything within one bill & were told to figure it out and split the costs ourselves because “that’s how their system works.” If that’s the case the QR code ordering seems pointless. Great food, however the service needs further attention to keep customers coming back.

The place does have a great vibe. The food selection is not varied but tasy and good quality. I had a chance to try their cheesecake and it was lovely. The hummus and crackers is also not bad. I would recommend the place.But better to go before 14:30 or after 18:30 because in between they kind of close the kitchen.

Quiet location approximately 15 mins from the center. We ordered the pitas as main dish and we like them very much, the peppers and hummus algo good👍 we tried veggie and lamb. The virgin mojitos were also nice and refreshing. We just found the pitas and dishes a little bit pricy given the quantity 😅

Pita breads were fantastic, however, be careful as the quality does not extend across the entire menu. We were charged 9€ for poorly cooked baked potato served as fries. All in all a good experience, but I'd rather be sick than fork out for those disgusting potatoes again 🤮🤮🤮.

Great place, family run brewery. We used to have it as a bike route destination from Brussels (some 25km of cycling one way, through Flanders fields like from Van Gogh paintings!). Choose excellent craft beer of your preference!

I spent a very enjoyable Saturday afternoon at the brewery sampling as many of the brews as I could. It made the walk back to where I was staying very interesting 😂 Many thanks to Dries for personally showing me around the brew area and to everybody else that helped to make my visit such an enjoyable experience. I can especially recommend the Witgoud. It's a shame I only bought 4 bottles to take away. But that means I'll have to visit again soon ! 😁

Best brewery tour I had in Belgium so far (3 years). The selection of beer proposed is amazing and the visit to the brewery is authentic, it's not a spot. You can clearly fell the passion of the family for their farm and for the brewery.

Long story short; if you are looking for a brewery tour, you are in the right place. If you are only looking for a nice beer, you are also in the right place. We were in Leuven for the weekend, so we googled for a local brewery with tours. We don't know why, but when we saw the Hof ten Dormaal, we knew this was the spot to go. We tasted some beer and then we talked with Jef for a tour. Jef is the brewer and as soon as he starts to talk, you realize that he's passionate about the art of making beer. He showed us the brewery and talked about the process. In the end, he also took us to the farm to meet a calf born in the previous night. Thank you Jef. PS: The Portuguese family that entered in your house during lunch :)

I went there with my three kids, because there was a child friendly little event organized by the city of Leuven. We then went for some delicious food prepared by Falafel Habibi (you can only pay with card). There is also an outdoor playground for bigger kids. They organize different events, you can check it out on their Facebook Page ;) Also plenty of social projects going on here and they try to be rooted in the neighborhood. We will def go back for some drinks/ nice events. Very child friendly atmosphere :D

Went for a witchy market. The place is okay and there is a bar and food court. We had the pizza with salami and it’s was really tasty. Can order and pay via QR code at your table.

Nice atmosphere and good Palestinian food

Neat place to hang out as a couple or young family. It still needs a bit of work and some shops are not open yet but it offers interesting alternative street food stands, while the old industrial hal adds a certain vibe to this place. For food, we tried a Lebanese falafel sandwich and flat bread which did not disappoint! Also tried the Pastel de Nata (Portugese custard pastry, next to the Lebanese stand) which is amazing! You should definitely try this! It's less then 2 euro!

Old warehouse just outside Leuven Centre currently with restaurants and a bar. Antico Pizza restaurant was great. Tried the Diavola. Top quality. Habibi Palestinian cuisine also very nice - took a 3 dish mezze. The bar is very well stocked with 4 draught beers and dozens of bottled and canned beers. Very laid back, relaxed vibe. Table booking available by contacting restaurant.

Given all the competition along this magnificent location, Cafe Belge came out on top for us. Amazing beers, too many to try sadly. Perhaps a return visit someday. Big thanks to Ziggy behind the bar.

This place has the best and comfy chairs all around. Wide enough selection of beers but the waiters are a little bit impatient and angry while recommending beers to foreigners. Still, it was the first choice for all evenings during our Leuven visit.

If you’re into beers with different flavors, it’s a great place to chill.

Malz is the place to be and visit while in Leuven if you’re into anything beer related. Malz offers lots of different types, styles as well as different nationalities. They also have a within 30km radius section of beers and many on tap which you can order individually or part as a beer flight. All in all choose between tap, bottle, can or more, either from the bar or their different coolers. A beer lovers dream bar, especially if you log them on Untappd. Neat, open and cool venue with just as cool workers and they offer beer fitting snacks of different snacks or bites.

Please avoid all the bars in the square and come here! Craft brewery that serves high quality beers, they have 12 beers on the tap and a selection of bottles beers. The staff was nice and welcoming. I was impressed by their selection, it's not normal in Belgium to find bars that serves not only the most common brands. Prices are a bargain for what they offer!

We went here to watch the match between Belgium and Brazil. We were nicely seated outside and when the game started, the personnels of the bar took all the stools. We ended up standing during the whole match.

It has been better in the past, now very limited attendance, generally not as clean. Popularity goes in cycles, when new crowds arrive in Leuven.

We had dinner at this cozy restaurant. The atmosphere was great and they had heaters outside so you could easily enjoy even during a cold evening! The food was nice but quite expensive! I had the shrimp croquettes that were full of flavour and had actual shrimps inside. For a main I ordered the beef tartare which had a great texture but was a bit bland! The waitresses were very friendly but it took a long time to get the food out.

Very Cosy in the historic center of Leuven. Once we had lunch and everything has gone the best. Unfortunately one Thursday , late afternoon we went there to eat without reservation. A nasty little man told us you can eat but in 1 hour time you should leave because the table is reserved. I understand that the restaurant was fully booked. He could simply say, sorry we don’t have a free table but he insisted of repeating that we can eat but we must leave very quickly. At the end we left very angry. Had a great time at Bar Louis for Lunch time. It was busy but the food came fast, wok with shrimps, and Cesar salad was great, big Louis burger was good but the bacon was dry. Wine and ice tea good too. To finish a coffee, tiramisu and a digestive, amaretto. Great service and magnificent location.

Excellent stop for the brasserie lovers. Extensive menu options including breakfast. Crepes are available only until 17:00. The beverage selection is wide even for non alcoholics, whereas gin lovers will be more than pleasantly surprised. My only quibble is with the steak tartar - it was over seasoned and too heavy. The meatpacking would have been an easier digest (entrecote steak).

Asking if there was a table available just for a quick snack and a drink made a lot of things available in this clearly very busy restaurant. And we were not disappointed when ordering the rafa berry smash mocktail and an order of nachos. The mocktail was truly delicious and very well balanced in the types of fruit and other ingredients and the nachos had just a bit of spice to it while being royally covered in cheese, guacamole, sour creme and salsa. The order was just too small to enjoy with two people as dinner leaving us hungry for more, but had they not been fully booked for dinner time we probably would have stayed for more drinks and another round of snacks.

Beautiful church in a beautiful city. Although the the inside is decorated a bit frugally compared to other churches, it still awes you with its majestic architecture and size.

Leuven’s biggest cathedral and a nice place to visit while you’re in the town center. No ticket needed and while it’s cold outside this can also be a sanctuary if you’re looking for a little bit of warmth. That beside the point, the artworks and collections are quite amazing. There’s a dungeon that act as another praying room.

Nice Church to visit in Leuven. Located near Grote market and Town hall. Entry is free and bus stop is very near to the church.

The origins of Sint-Pieterskerk (Saint Peter’s church) date back to the 10th century. Construction of this Brabant Gothic church continued through the 15th century with its towers used as a municipal belfry. Its belfry is part of the collection of Belgian belfries recognized by UNESCO. The interior is bright even on cloudy days thanks to the white colored walls and many large windows. It is free to enter the church.

The Saint Peter’s Church is definitely one of the most important places to be in Leuven. You will find here the famous paintings of Dierick Bouts, medieval flamish artist from the 15th century. What impressed me most in on one side the medieval church with its uncountable numbers of arts and the long history behind the city of Leuven and on the other side the artificial intelligence driven guided tour allowing you to be part of the history. Don’t miss the tablet tour of Dierick Bouts! I hope that this cutting edge technology will be just the beginning of guided tours and will be further extended to more and more artists, painting and installing in this church. I do strongly recommend the guided tours offered by the tourism office. The guides are well educated, with a lot of historical knowledge and the educational background needed.

Fell into Leuven and this beautiful, elegant church. So impressed and a lovely fresh and light take on religion rather than some of the heavy and ornate churches. So lovely. The carved pulpit is a work of Art in itself.

Very slow service there was a young blond waiter that was practically not doing anything I had to wait for more than 20 minutes, I would have understood that if there was a lot of people but their was practically nobody (3-5 people). You had to literally wave multiple times to get service and even then it took an excessive amount of time. I wouldn’t recommend this place if this keeps on I use to come here with all my friends often but it has gone downhill lately regrettably.

Sat for about 15 mins waiting for service, why so long? I wanted the server to see us leave. 1 server for about 30 tablets and a bus load of Spanish tourist, who had been served beer at least.

One of the best places in Leuven to go out, I really like the Mondays and Wednesdays when there is a social dance with salsa, bachata and occasional kizomba. I rarely go out, but when I do, this is the place! <3

Beers in De Metafoor and Pasta from the opposite restaurant L'inizio are a great match. The staff here is really nice. I so much enjoy the evening here. It's really worth the long journey to be here. Highly recommended!

The metafoor is an awesome pub, and the girl that ran the place *on her own* on a busy night deserved all the praise. Despite how crowded and tired she was, she was sweet, kind, knowledgeable, and badass. The bar is great, but she's the reason we came back two nights in a row during our conference.

Best of class in the region. Welcoming atmosphere in this concert hall of Leuven. Lots of volunteers at the bar and registry, which makes everything feel no nonsense and with a local feel. They have great programmation, top of the bill performances mixed with little known gems you have got to explore and discover. Nice staff all round, amenities and elevator for wheelchair users. Some nice bars in the vicinity too. Get to know the artists you just have seen playing on stage in a non conforming way in the bar/lounge. Some great parties and afterparties too sometimes. Definitely a place to visit and enjoy when visiting Leuven.

Best coffee place in town. The desserts are great! I've been in Leuven for 5 days, went there every morning and tried almost all the deserts. All of them were great!

We have paid 16€ for 2 bagels and a tiny bottle of water, and the bagels were so full of mascarpone & extremely fat, oil was coming out of the bread. Leaving this place nauseous… Then had coffee and it was really just hot milk. I didn’t drink it. All that fat + all that sauce + all that milk yuk Plus the woman serving us was NOT friendly at all. My favo place to get a coffee! The Mister chocolate is unbeatable! the little chocolate drops are the perfect victim to spoon out of a big pile of whipped cream and their pies are to die for too! But you'll be rolling on the floor for 3 weeks gaining all that extra weight. Totally worth it

Lovely coffee place, quick and efficient and kind staff, good coffee, the decaf is always an option and much appreciated! Love the upstairs and outside sitting area. A bit loud upstairs, because of people and music via the speakers, but all in all a lovely place!

They have affordable coffee, and it's a great place to chill with friends. If you are a health nut, you can enjoy the spinach and avocado smoothie.

Good coffee and hot chocolate, some things are a bit expensive but most items are reasonably priced.

I would rate them 0, but google maps doesn't allow it. Very rude staff, they kicked us out, said this is not ikea, that ikea is in Zaaventem, so we left for ikea. Much more pleasant staff there. They have the best meatballs, go to ikea instead!

The waitress was extremely rude. After ordering and watching the game for 2 hours, she told us we can’t sit without ordering something else in a degrading manner (‘here in belgium you have to keep ordering’), which was extremely racist given that I have been living in the country for 2 years. I have been to many bars in oude markt where I have ordered one drink and spent almost 4.5 hours without anyone commenting. This was the first time I encounter racism and disgusting attitude in Belgium.

Very good bar, wall to wall sport, Premier League football, Spanish football and 6 Nations rugby shown simultaneously, good beers on draught, good polite and fun staff, took very good care over Leffe to get it just right for a customer. Dedicated! Good bar.

Best place to watch Formula 1 in Oude Markt. Speakers and multiple screens. Standard priced drinks, cash and payconiq only. Enjoyable experience.

Always a great place to go out to. The bouncer is definitely one of the funniest ones of his kind and he really makes sure the place stays hassle free.

Surlie is the best wine bar in Leuven, BY FAR. This unassuming, whole-in-the-wall gem serves luscious natural Italian wines, along with delectible snacks for the perfect pairing. Marc, the brains and brawn behind Surlie can explain, down to the minutest of details, how each bottle is carefully crafted from soil to grape to glass. Surlie also attracts a vibrantly diverse crowd of people, many of whom arrive as strangers and leave as friends. It is a place not to be missed.

Cozy place for drinks near the vismarkt. Small, but good italian wine selection, also beers and vermouth. Good quality drinks and tapas. Friendly service, will definitely return.

Very pleasant atmosphere with a cosy, heated terrace. The finger food which is prepared in the small, open kitchen is excellent but the combination with chosen natural wines makes it unique. Simple ingredients like herring and anchovies in combination with olive oil and bread suddenly become exquisite through the pairing with the chosen wine. Fantastic!

I enjoyed learning about natural wines while trying out different styles by the glass. Both times I went everyone was nice. I don’t feel like we have ever been underserved like some of the reviews said. Very fair prices towards the customers for what you drink. Went back again with my wife and had the same experience. Will be back again in the future. :-)

Best cocktail bar in Leuven, sometimes it's very very full but i guess they are victim of their success, the staff is amazing, the drinks are various and very cheap compared to other places in the center. I don't mind sometimes the service cause it's a student city so all fine. Perfect experience i really recommend ❤️

Very nice Bar, in the City Center. Good music and delicious drinks.

Wine was quite bad. The waitress seemed like she'd rather not be working this evening... I personally didn't feel very wercome due to how we were waited at the table. The waiting time for getting something to drink was also long (15 mins for a wine and a coke).

Great place to have drink with friends! You can even play boardgames there. The drinks are served in a chemistry theme, loved it.

A bit for the expensive side but the food and home made lemonade were really good. The space is really nice and the atmosphere is good, with great music on the background. The staff was super fast and nice even though they had a full house.
