Quiet beach close to Bangkok. Nice for weekend trip or staying if you like a quiet beach area. A hidden gem here is the Treeroot Retreat, a small hotel/retreat close to the beach with beautiful rooms, training facilities, surfboards, bicycles and a real familiar feeling to it.
The beach was filthy with trash including broken glass. The sand was rough and had holes in it and hurt to walk on even with sandals. Lastly, the waves were so violent that swimming was definitely a no-go. We wanted to stay for a few hours for the sunset, but that was not an option with how disgusting and unsafe the beach was.
I heard complaints many times about the lack of cleanliness of this beach. It looks like some visitors forget to put the rubbish in the blue bins on the main road to avoid littering the beach. However the District Government and National Parks make HUGE efforts to keep those long and beautiful beaches, tidy and enjoyable. If you visit, PLEASE remember NOT to throw away in the beach any plastics nor any garbage, so we can continue to enjoy those fantastic beautiful beaches!
No mud nice sand gentle surf and breeze lots of shade and vendors 😘
There's garbage everywhere and it smells awful. The smell I do believe was from someone who ate seafood and later threw the leftovers in the sand, but that's just my guess. It could be nice if there were some trash bins available and if people actually used them. The beach itself is not that bad and I would like to visit again when the place doesn't look like a garbage dump. I hope the place can get it's act together. It could be a proper tourist destination if it did. 🗑️🚮☹️
Okay beach in Rayong. No toilets around but parking in the road. Mostly clean but some rubbish and some stray dogs. Nowhere to sit really but a few food truck style cafes around.
An another 5 stars beach in Rayong. Mae Ram Phueng Beach is about 10 kilometres long beach on the outskirts of Rayong. People were there and there. Peace. We rented the sun shelter on the point of 2nd 7-Eleven. In the picture 5 meal see food dinner, one beer, one big cola, one big water, and my vegetarian spring rolls (not in the pic), altogether 1300 baht, about 35 euro. Not maybe the cheapest meal in Thailand, but nobody of us complained. Pattaya is full of farangs (as we will see, again, after couple of days), in Rayong I saw almost no tourists. And, then, Rayong is as a city (with much better beaches) much more interesting than Pattaya.
Just a typical beach that's is unusually uncrowded!! As with all beaches around the world it is littered with plastic, old shoes etc but this is common place these days. It does look like they have a clean up but the ocean will still throw up the trash that we all discard.. Along the beach you will find food stalls that have sun shades, deck chairs and plenty of designated roadside parking. The water looks surprisingly clean compared to Pattaya. Not many dogs around to, but the one we saw was very friendly. A lot of seafood being sold at the food stalls but with how quiet it is here the seafood will be hit and miss on how fresh it is! My girlfriend took some crabs and they had a mix of old/fresh crabs. At 550b kg prepared it's not expensive and each shop will be different prices. Overall a nice beach to go to if you want that uncrowded feel but still have everything you need for a decent day out.

A place to watch the sunset on the east coast of Rayong Province. A beautiful place, beautiful sea, there is a place to set up a tent. Check the time because it is a government office so you don't miss the time.
The entrance fee is 200 baht for foreigners which I think is too high compared to the Thai adults price which is 40 baht. There is a nice trail and glass sky platform to take photos. Other than that it's only for camping where you can get all the gear needed inside. Travellers with the national park book can collect their seal here at the entrance checkpoint too
Beautiful view and super friendly staff! Just watch out for monkeys, they might grab your stuff!! To all tourists: please help keep the place clean and enjoy the view😊 Tip: Go in the early morning or late afternoon⛅️
Very good park. If you want to trek, you can trek and enjoy. The view from the top was good.
I enjoyed the nature trail, some scenic spots. I don’t believe it takes an hour unless you are stopping for long periods. I think the 200 baht entry is just rude given they make you park at the top and you have to walk down a steep path when there is plenty of parking below.
A nice place to visit if you're a beach lover. The view point is amazing 🤩
Amazing views along the trail. So many photo spots. Highly recommend to visit, it’s fun to walk along the wooden platform leading to the viewpoint for a sunset. Samet Island is just right in front of you. The glass platform is another interesting photo spot. Very clean washroom.
We parked our car at the car park, then hop on the 3-minute ride on a two-row pickup to get inside or more precisely to the shore. The scenery is beautiful and the sea water is so clear and sparkling. The officers were nice. There is a cafe and a grocery. We did not walk further as it was too hot for our son. So be prepared! Apply sunscreen and bring umbrellas. A hat is not enough.

A place to shop for Rayong famous snacks. Freshly baked Durian chips.
Long standing souvenir and preserved seafood market and it's also an old pier to Samed island. Similar products, similar price, plenty of variety, snack, seasonal fruits. No aircon. Lots of parking.
Ban Phe Souvenir Market is a big market located in the famous Ban Phe of Rayong province (eastern region of Thailand) where is the place for tourism who wants to go to the famous Koh Samed as the pears are surrounded in the area. In the market you can find many dried seafood, dried fruits, snack, decorative things, apparels at reasonable price (negotiable). If you are thirsty, there are some shops selling fresh drinks. The Ban Phe Souvenir Market is closed a bit too early so you have to come by sunset otherwise you will find that it is closed and you miss the chance. Parking is available for many space in front of and behind the market.
Came here thinking I’d just grab a keychain or two… Ban Phe Souvenir Market said “nah bro, you’re leaving with dried squid, seashells, and a full-blown beach auntie starter pack” 🐚🦑🎒 This place is a treasure chest of salty snacks, woven bags, and enough beachwear to dress an entire resort. Dried seafood? Everywhere. Giant squid jerky, mini anchovies, shrimp chips — all staring you down like “take me home or regret it forever.” I walked in with a budget and walked out with 3 kilos of dried cuttlefish and a fridge magnet shaped like a crab. You’ll find handmade crafts, kitschy shirts with dolphins doing backflips, and vendors calling you “friend” while handing you tamarind candy like it’s gold. The vibe? Loud, colorful, a little chaotic, but in the most lovable Thai-market way possible. Left smelling like ocean snacks and happiness. If you didn’t buy at least one bag of dried squid and a shell necklace, did you even Ban Phe bro?
Just aware the taxi drivers!! They tried to charge more than twice and when we were negotiating, they already spread their price in thai. when we refused, they became very aggressive. We were two women and it was quiet scary
Lots of dried seafood, dried fruit and khanom. Delicious. A girl from Miamar helped me, she spoke English well.
You can buy dried seafood, souvenirs, and beachwear here.
Great local market. Durian chips, seashell art, dried fish of all kinds and much more.

Nice and cozy place! Differs from the others through its atmosphere which feels like home! Especially the music and drinks served there
Great little bar with chill atmosphere, friendly staff and nice location on the beach front. Drinks are reasonably priced, huge selection of cocktails to chose from and free pool. Spent several evenings here and always had a good time.
We were there in the evening. Good cocktails, has a pool table you can use after buying something. Definitely recommend staying til around 22 when a troubadour comes on (apparently he plays every night, works in the bar). He is really talented! Have heard some real bad ones at the other places so this was a really nice surprise.
Absolute favourite bar on Samet! The staff is very welcoming and the whole place just has great atmosphere! Great cocktails, pool table, live music, beach… all you need! They are partnered up with the best pizza place on the island so you know what to get!🍕
The Lima Bar is a right good spot right on the beach, with friendly and obliging staff, and a relaxed vibe. The pool table is free, with the balls being reracked each time by the staff -- the table is not in great shape, to be fair, but it's as good as any other I have seen on the island, and is certainly playable.
Great service, great food, good cold drinks right on the beach! Pool tables and live music (please tip)! They did not take credit card. Bathrooms were not very convenient. Open as one of the latest on the beach. Worth going back to.
There are a lot of bars to choose from if you're strolling along Sai Kaew beach at night. This one is a must. The staff are soo friendly and accepting and, if you're a Brit like me and want to watch the Premiership (or if you just want to watch sport), there's a screen here to watch The drinks are hand mixed and there's a free pool table but one of the staff is a legend on the table and he'll challenge you (not for money unless you have the stomach). Clientele is great and met some nice people. Will use this whilst here - often
Super location, right on the beach. reasonably priced. They have a pool table as well. Music selection was also good. Then there was a solo artist playing the guitar ( live music). I also liked the decor. Bar staff were good and focused. I'm not sure but they only serve bar food, even though they did ask me if I wanted Thai Food. But I didn't see it on the menu. Cocktails and drinks list is vast
