Athirappally Waterfalls is a "must-visit" for nature lovers, renowned for its spectacular, cascading waters and lush, verdant surroundings in Kerala, India. Praise as the "Niagara of India" for its breathtaking beauty, the falls are known for their majestic size, described as the largest in Kerala and the surrounding green forests provide a serene and natural atmosphere. You can enjoy views from different points, including the top of the falls and the base, though the trek down to the base is a 1 km path that can be challenging. Visitors can bathe in the natural pools found in the upper part of the river near the falls. For the adventurous, there's a trek down to the base of the falls, though it can be slippery. The dense forest surrounding the falls offers a chance to experience spellbinding natural beauty. The area is also popular for birdwatching. Also famous being known as "Bahubali Falls" as clippings of Blockbuster flick "Bahubali" was shot here. It is also being featured in lot of Bollywood movies. PS:- Athirappilly Falls is a majestic sight! The water plunges from a height of 80 feet, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Highly recommended for visiting.

Great place to visit. Do visit there once. Initially when we reached there the water was low. But as time went the water raised. It was great. We were washed by the water hitting the stones. The scenes there was wonderful. There was so much crowd that time. We can buy the tickets and have to walk somtime to reach the top of the waterfalls. There are shops at the top. You can have tea or icecreams. Then on the right side there is a way to the view from the bottom of waterfalls. The way is somewhat adventurous. It will be difficult for people with joint issues. You have to walk down the road. The way to top is wheelchair accessible.

Beautiful place. A must-visit. I recommend going during the monsoon to see the waterfall in its full flow — it’s often called the Niagara Falls of India. Make sure to wear good anti-skid shoes, and be prepared for about 30 minutes of descending steps to reach the falls. During the monsoon season, it won’t be possible to get close to the waterfall due to the strong flow.

Beautiful place in the lap of nature. Must visit. Best time to visit is during rainy season . But going down nearer to the waterfalls is bit difficult.

The waterfall is majestic and powerful, surrounded by dense forest and fresh air. It’s truly a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and photography.

We took a detour from Kochi to Munnar and visited these beautiful waterfall. Word has it that certain scenes from the movie Baahubali were shot here. It's a short walk up from the roadhead - at the fork in the trail the left fork takes one to the top of the waterfall and the right fork leads one down a winding set stony steps and then a field of large rocks to the base of these wonderful waterfall. Well worth the detour to spend a couple of hours here!! There is a small fee one must pay to visit the falls. There is parking by the side of the road, but spotty cell signal.

Vadakkumnathan Temple : I love this place very much 💞— it always brings peace to my mind. The temple has a divine atmosphere and beautiful traditional architecture. The surroundings are calm and well maintained. Phones and cameras are not allowed inside the premises, which makes it even more peaceful and helps you stay fully present in the moment. Truly a sacred and serene place in Thrissur.

Vadakunathan temple is a very beautiful and peaceful temple located in the centre of the city, thrissur. This is the famous temple where the thrissur pooram festival happens. The parking area is very spacious and the temple area is very neat and clean with trees surrounding the temple area. One rule is men should not wear shirt & baniyan and should enter bare chested. Trousers/ pants are also not allowed, only veshti allowed. The dress code is little too much, because in daytime when it is hot, people sweat a lot and it really disturbs roaming shirtless there. I didn’t find any such rules for women. There is a shiva shrine, parvathi shrine and rama shrine inside the temple.

Most famous temple in thrissur where thrissur pooram is celebrated. We visited there in the evening after 5pm (suggesting you the same). No dress code like traditional dress like mundu and saree in this temple. But men has to remove their shirts while visiting the main deity. After coming out we sat near the temple and watched sunset.

We visited Snehatheeram Beach around 8:15 PM while on our way to Thrissur. Even at night, the beach felt lively with people walking, talking, and enjoying the calm atmosphere. It was surprisingly neat and well-maintained. We stayed for about an hour and found the place peaceful and relaxing. A good spot to take a break, simple, clean, and worth a short visit!

This beach is very nice but very crowded during weekends.... the washroom is very dirty and not maintained.... too many people on the beach and very difficult to get pictures...... if the washrooms are maintained well people will prefer to visit this place again.... there are people collecting money for washroom but not maintained atall......

Wonderful spot for 1 day trip... parking charges was bit high ₹50 and there is nothing much to see or buy or to eat. I went around 5pm it was very crowded, but we walked few distance and there were no one.. it turned into a private beach. But first time I saw the crabs and snails alive ... Just enjoyed the sunset...

One of the finest sunsets. By the evening, u shall see some sea creatures like turtles, crabs, snails, starfishes moving towards the seashore through its waves. I had seen westerners walking. Newly wed photo shoots were there. Boys playing football on the sand. Kids enjoyed the play sections around. The water is not too good for a bath . It's clumsy and dark. So, i didn't prepare to walk in or dive. (no one did that)... Overall a good experience.

Basic amenities like clean restrooms, changing rooms, proper seating areas, and food stalls are either limited or missing altogether. Better signage, parking arrangements, and waste management would also go a long way in enhancing the overall experience for visitors. With a bit more attention to infrastructure and maintenance, Snehathreeram Beach has the potential to become a top destination for both local and international tourists.

During my visit to Snehatheeram Beach, I had the chance to witness its stunning beauty and I wanted to share my experience. I was fortunate enough to go in the afternoon when the sun was shining brightly, casting a warm and welcoming ambiance.

Located near the Vadakumnathan temple, where the famous thrissur pooram festival happens. Temple is dedicated to Bhagavathy amman. There is a strict dress code for men in this temple. Men are not allowed to wear shirt and baniyan, also pants/ trousers are not allowed. Men should be bare chested and wear a veshti alone. But ladies don’t have a strict dress code. Temple area is very nicely maintained.

Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple in Thrissur, Kerala, is a significant cultural and spiritual hub. The Presiding Deity: Sree Bhagavathy Some of the salient features of this temple are…. The temple faces west with an entrance mandapam. The temple’s office is the right side. Dwajasthambam (Gold plated – Gold about 10 kgs), balipeedam and a 13 stages deepasthambam/ metal lamp are in front of the temple. Dwarapalakis are on both side walls of the entrance gopuram. In sanctum sanctorum the old idol of the Goddess Paramekkavu Bhagavathy was a wooden idol (daru silpa). A Panchaloka Vigraha was installed latter. Bas-reliefs of Durga, Aman, Arjuna on a Charriot from the epic Mahabharata, Maha Vishnu’s Ananta Sayanam are on the front wall of sanctum sanctorum. In sanctum Bhagavathy is in a sitting posture with right leg folded and left leg is hanging. Sree Bhagavathy is with 8 hands holding various weapons, like Silambu, sickle, Trishul, emathandu, Sword, Snake, kai vattala, etc. Vinayagar, Saptamatrikas, Shiva as Veerabhadra, Nagars, Brahma Rakshasa and Melakavu Bhagavathy (Originally this was the place where animals are sacrificed. After the ban of animal sacrifice, this Mela Bhagavathy temple was constructed) are in this temple. ARCHITECTURE The temple consists of Sree kovil, namaskara mandapam, nalambalam with entrance / exist on the 4 cordinal directions, pradakshinapatha, and thriuchuttambalam. The Sree kovil is rectangular in plan on an adhistanam. The namaskara mandapam is in front of sree Kovil. The temple walls are built with laterite stone plastered with mud and lime. A Kerala style guttur tiled roof pyramidal vimana is on the adhistanam. The Sree kovil walls are with mural paintings.

A peaceful and affordable spot in the heart of Thrissur, this zoo and museum offer a mix of wildlife, history, and nature. Though small, it houses animals, birds, a snake park, and a lovely museum with Kerala’s traditional art and artifacts. Great for families and kids. Needs a bit of modernization, but still worth a short visit.

Thrissur Zoo is a decent place to spend a few hours, especially if you’re visiting with kids or have an interest in wildlife. The zoo has a fair variety of animals and birds, and the adjoining natural history museum adds some educational value to the visit. The lush greenery and shaded paths make walking around pleasant. However, some enclosures feel a bit small and could be better maintained. The layout can be confusing for first-time visitors, and a few areas look like they need renovation. It’s not a bad experience overall, but there’s room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and animal care. A good visit if you’re in the area, but not something worth traveling far for.

Visited the Thrissur Zoo recently and had a pleasant experience. Though not very large, the zoo offers a peaceful environment with a decent variety of animals, birds, and reptiles.  Clean pathways and shaded areas make it a relaxing visit, though some parts could use better signage and upgrades. Overall, a calm and affordable outing for families and nature lovers visiting Thrissur.

The entrance fee for one person is Rs. 20, and for children, there is nothing to see in this museum except a tiger, a lion, a spotted deer, and a few snakes. I learned that all the animals here have been moved to the largest natural park in Thrissur, which is about to open. Those who want to visit Thrissur should go to the Thrissur National Park. I felt that spending time there was a waste.

The zoo could use some improvement. A few animals appeared unwell and their living conditions seemed inadequate. Overall, it wasn’t a very enjoyable or relaxing visit, so I would suggest considering other options for now.

Only 20 rupees ticket fee per person. Variety of plants , trees and animals can be seen. No plastic items or food items are allowed inside. Monday is holiday. Othr days open from 10 to 5pm.variety of dears, fox, hipapotamus, tiger, cheetah, lion, crocodile, snakes, monkeys, birds can be seen.Benches to rest are also available.Food area is also available outside the zoo.parking is available outside. Total hygenic and environment friendly atmosphere is maintained by the staffs. Best spot to visit especially with your kids.

They're moving the zoo, so there aren't many animals. The museum's alright. No parking, need to park on the street. Costs 15 for adults and 40 for family of 4.

This is a neighbourhood temple in Thrissur but quite popular one. This is on the main road in a busy residential area with restricted entry approach. The Sree Krishna here, like Guruvayur, is that of child swarupam. There are other upa devatas - Bhagawati, Ganapathy & Ayyappan as well. This temple is also part of the famous Pooram celebrations.

My visit to Thiruvambadi Sreekrishna Swami Temple was a truly divine experience. Located right in the heart of Thrissur city, this temple radiates the vibrant charm of bhakti. The spiritual energy here is something that can’t be described in words — the rhythmic chants, the fragrance of incense, and the beautifully adorned idol of Lord Krishna all come together to create a deeply peaceful and devotional atmosphere. The temple’s traditions and rituals are followed with great devotion, and it feels spiritually uplifting to be a part of it, even as a visitor. The architecture and cleanliness of the temple also reflect the respect and care taken by the devotees and management. However, being situated at the center of the city, one major challenge is parking. It’s quite difficult to find a proper space nearby, especially during peak hours or festival days. This is something to keep in mind while planning a visit. Overall, despite the parking inconvenience, I feel Thiruvambadi Temple is a must-visit for anyone seeking divine bliss and traditional Kerala temple vibes. A place where devotion truly comes alive.

Temple is super. However Vazhivadu coupons are not treated with respect. You have to pay money and then you are advised to abandon it with the Poojari. You can't even leave it at the Nada in front of the Devan. If you try to keep it in front of the Devan they will shout at you. Bad behavior of staff. Devotees have got to be respected.

This is my first time here, it's a nice, peaceful, and wonderful temple.

The temple from outside looks too good. But the timings differ we went around 12 , it was closed. It closes around 11 and opens at 4:30.

Thiruvambady Sri Krishna Temple is situated in Thrissur in Kerala. The main deities of this temple are lord Krishna in the form of a child, and goddess Bhadrakali, both having equal importance. There are also sub-shrines of Ganesha, Sastha and Brahma rakshas. There is a sub-temple for Ganesha behind the temple. The temple is one of the two groups participating in the Thrissur Pooram festival of Kerala.. Thiruvambady Bhagavathi is one of the main participants of Thrissur Pooram. The goddess is considered as the younger sister of Paramekkavu Bhagavathi (the presiding deity of Paramekkavu temple) The temple is located on the Shornur road, 1 km north of the Vadakkumnathan Temple and 500m from Swaraj Round. It is only 10mts drive from Thrissur Railway Station and Bus stand. The Poonkunnam Railway station is only 250 metres from the temple. The main deity at Thiruvambady is Lord Unni-Krishna (Lord Krishna in infant form). Further Goddess Bhagavathy’s shrine is just on the left of Lord Krishna and both are worshipped with equal ardour. Other deities such as Lord Ganesha, Dharmasastha are also worshipped in separate shrines outside the Nalambalam. Further Deities known by Dravidian names - Kukshi Ayyapa, Manikanda, Ghandakarna, Raktheswari and Bhairava are also enshrined here, just outside the walls of the temple. The idol of Krishna, now worshipped here, was originally the Parthasarathy idol in a temple at Edakkalathur, about 15km from Thrissur. The temple also had the same name - Thiruvambady – Four centuries ago, when life and property in the village were threatened by communal conflagration. Some villagers under the cover of darkness, carried the idol to Thrissur and entrusted the same to a pious Namboodiri couple at Kachanappilly Illam, 200mtrs from the present Thiruvambady temple. The childless couple considered it as a blessing in disguise from the Almighty and as they preserved the idol for worship. They treated it as their own unborn child. The Lord who appears before a devotee in the form he wants, opted to cast aside Partha Sarathy's whip and to pick up the flute in one hand and extended the other to receive the butter of devotion from the 'foster parents'. A small temple was erected 200mtrs, South of Kachanappally Illam and 'Unnikrishna' was enshrined there. The Kachanappally couples were ardent devotees of Kodungallur Devi. They the male member used to travel distance of 40km by foot, every month, to have a darshan of the Devi at Kodungallur. With the passage of time and deteriorating health conditions he had to bid farewell to the Deity and returned home with a broken heart. However, just like a human mother, the Devi could not bear the separation from her dedicated devotee. Therefore her 'Chaitanya' followed the devotee to his abode and consequently got enshrined on a granite pillar in the central courtyard within the Nalukettu. It is this consecrated pillar with the Devi 'Chaitanya' which is installed in the Sanctum to the left of Unnikrishnan and worshipped as the compassionate Bala-Bhadra Kali (Kali as a child). The temple complex is very calm, clean and serene. A darshan of both Unni-Krishnan & Goddess Bala- Bhadrakali gives us the much-needed positive vibes, fulfilment and great satisfaction with mental peace. One must visit such temples at least once in a lifetime.

The food court offers a great selection of restaurants and snacks, especially for non-veg lovers. There’s also a good movie theatre inside, perfect for weekend entertainment. Ample parking space and helpful staff make the overall experience smooth and stress free.

Sobha City Mall is one of the best malls in Thrissur. Well-designed with a premium feel, it has a great mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The mall is spacious, clean, and well maintained with ample parking facilities. A perfect place to spend time with family and friends – whether it’s shopping, catching a movie, or enjoying food at the restaurants.

Away from City centre, a peaceful place and ambient area for relaxation..the lake view is fantastic in the evening!! Mall is not that big but useful outlets all are there!! Food court is nice and variety of foods available including pure veg and Non veg options!!

After visiting a large number of malls across kerala and the globe, let's just say this is a very very average mall, yes it is very peaceful as Its generally not that crowded, also the shops even though not many, all the ones which are required are there, don't expect any luxurious stores here though, it's a mall made in mind keeping the Indian shopping style and brands , well this is good because the other brands won't really sell and would be there just for show, but yeah if want a peaceful day roaming and having fun, this place is a great choice, the biggest highlight of the mall is the apartment view and the pond at the back side, it looks absolutely stunning especially in monsoon season and is a great place to click some pretty dope pics, the mcd ice cream store is also here and u will get icecreams for super cheap like 30-40 rupees and that along with with view , is one awesome thing. Apart from that the food court is good but not the best, there is also a theatre so no complaints there as well, and yeah as i said, fun mall to roam around, but not a place u should be coming for specifically to visit thrissur, combine it with guruyaur temple then yeah it would be a good 2 day tour. My overall rating 4.2/5.

It is a nice shopping mall to look at, but it is a bit difficult to buy things in the shops here. The reason is that all the things are very expensive. If you drink a cup of tea, it costs 20 rupees. If we were outside, it would cost 10 rupees.

Great Mall & Ambiance, but Parking Needs Attention Sobha City Mall is one of the best places in Thrissur for a complete day out. The ambiance is fantastic—it's spacious, well-maintained, and the large lake view outside is a major plus, especially around sunset. Variety of Shopping: There is a good selection of major brands, fashion, and electronics.

Had a great experience at Sobha Mall. The shops are very well arranged, making it easy to find everything. The ambiance is clean and comfortable, and overall it’s a pleasant place to shop. Highly recommended

Best time to visit: The cooler winter months from November to February are considered the best time to explore the palace and its surroundings comfortably. Shakthan Thampuran Palace in Thrissur, Kerala, is an 18th-century palace known for its unique Kerala-Dutch architecture. Originally named Vadakkechira Kovilakam, it was reconstructed in 1795 by King Ramavarma Thampuran, also known as Shakthan Thampuran, and is now an archaeological museum. It houses various galleries, including the Bronze Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, and Epigraphy Gallery. The collections include ancient artifacts and exhibits detailing the life of Shakthan Thampuran and the history of the Cochin dynasty. Heritage Garden: Located on the southern side of the palace, the garden features indigenous Kerala plants and trees. Serpent Grove: A traditional Sarpakaavu or sacred serpent grove is also on the premises.

Good place Neatly maintand Historic Some historic antique excavated pieces are there, some of them from other parts of India. In my view, There we can see lot of historical thinks like Coins, tools, swords etc that belongs to Tipu's era or Akbar's era. Onething I must say is, DONT TOUCH anything and Don't even sit in the floor or balcony .. i like the behaviour of staffs and guides there but better to improve little more politeness.

A surprisingly well maintained palace. Wasn't expecting such a secluded peaceful spit smack in the middle of the city. Can easily spend around an hour visiting it. This is a palace cum museum. Includes a charming garden too. The exhibits are well maintained and labeled. If you don't find parking at the main entrance, park near nearby stadium grounds and walk over.

A place well maintained. Very well organised with beautiful garden. Only issue is that even for hybrid camera we have to pay 1500rs which is not worth. Parking is available for very few cars. Recommended place.

It is the tallest church tower in India. One of the major tourist attractions. It is situated very close to Puthenpally. It is situated 2 km away from Thrissur railway station and about 1 km away from Saktan bus stand. Buses are not available to the front of the church you'll have to take a watch or catch an auto. The church tower is so high that you can see the whole of thrissur from above. There are stairs to go up and a lift facility is also available. There is an entry fee of Rs.20 per person, google pay is not available only cash is accepted. The visiting hours are 9.00 am to 6.00 pm with a break time from 1pm to 2 pm. Monday is a holiday. The footwear has to be removed and bags should be placed outside before entering.

A peaceful and inspiring place with beautiful art and architecture. It has detailed carvings and stained glass that tell stories from the Bible. The view from the top is amazing, showing the beauty of Thrissur town.

The Bible Tower is one of the tallest church towers in Asia and serves as a distinctive feature of the Thrissur skyline. The Bible Tower features an observation deck at the top, offering panoramic views of Thrissur city and its surroundings. Visitors can ascend the tower and enjoy breathtaking views of the landscape.

The Bible tower situated in the premises of Puthenpalli. Its a 26 storied tower with a lift accessible up to 20th floor. From there up to 24th floor, we need to take the stairs. Top 2 floors are closed and not accessible. There is no open view platform for the tower. We can only enjoy the spectacular view of Thrissur town through a framed window. Lift facility is not there for the return to the ground floor. There are 460 steps from top to down and on the way we can see multiple art pieces in murals, acrylic, glass paintings etc. There is a floor in which we can see Bible from various era. There is an ample parking facility available at a nominal price. The staffs are rude and annoying. Entry fee - ₹20/person.

Chavakad beach is, like any beach, fascinating giant waves, yes waving you to come near get drenched in the salty water enthusiastically calling you inviting you like a friendly host which very rarely you can resist.. The great grand sea continuously roaring with white hearted foam, the waves humbly bending the face like a young wife blushing.. You can't take it that way always.. at times gets ferocious and swallows whatever coming on its way. Anyway enjoy the sea from a distance safely sitting on the beach. Chavakad beach tells these to you when you go there. Don't miss it. 🙂🙂👍

The place is great with comparatively less number of people. The main problem here is some guys are suspicious and were always looking for our bag while we were in the sea. Security there is a lack. Otherwise Sun set view in there is magical

We visited Chavakkad Beach in the evening around 4 PM. The beach was very neat and clean, and we really enjoyed our time there. My daughter had a wonderful time playing in the sand and watching the waves. However, it is not safe to go deep into the sea, so we stayed near the shore and played carefully. There are small shops near the beach where you can buy snacks and drinks. We traveled from Guruvayoor to the beach by auto-rickshaw. The auto fare was ₹200 one way, so it cost us ₹400 for the round trip. Overall, it was a beautiful and refreshing experience at Chavakkad Beach.

Vazachal waterfall is a very scenic waterfall, located above The Athirapally Waterfalls. It is a very peaceful location with the tranquil beauty in the serene nature. Maintained by the Forest department it has clean washrooms and Play area for Kids. Tickets are included in the Athirapally Waterfall view tickets, so you don't need to pay any in extra for visiting it. Also they have parking slot available outside it, facilitating easy car parking for tourists. Recommended for visiting!

Beautiful ride to Vazhachal Waterfalls! 🌿 The road through the forest is smooth and scenic — perfect for a bike trip. The waterfall is peaceful and less crowded compared to Athirapally. Great spot to relax, enjoy nature, and feel the cool mist after the ride. 🏍️💧

Its a calm place with scenic waterfall that you can watch from very close staying within the set boundary. The trail is not much long and its more set like a park with waterfall on one end. There is a ticket of rupees 60 per head with which you can gain access to both vazhachal and athirapilly.

Visited on Oct5. This is just beside vazhachal checkpost to enter forest. Parking roadside with staff suppport is there. Ticket entry with small queue. If you are planning to go to Athirapally falls after this then you can take a ticket here to avoid long queues. Its hot and humid in Oct, cool drinks and icecreams you can buy here. Falls are beautiful, 100 mtrs walk.

What a beautiful waterfall it is, enough space to swim and play in water, family friendly atmosphere, where toilets and dress changing rooms are available and always been watched by the forest people for our safety…recommended highly..even though please be careful on the water bodies and rocks..

The diya arrangement inside the temple is done in a unique and beautiful way, which adds to the divine feeling. The temple pond is very big, and meenoot is the main devotional offering here. You can see different varieties of fish in the pond, which is nice to watch. The architecture of the temple is also great, with many traditional details. Irinjalakuda town is very nearby, so the temple is easy to reach. The whole place gives a good vibe and makes your mind feel fresh. A very peaceful temple to visit.

One of other speciality is except Lord Bharatha, no othe diety's are there. Inside the temple, you have to remove your shirts .. Thamara Maala ( Lotus Garland) is one of famous offering of the temple.. We can offer "Meenoott" (Feeding Fishes), for the fishes of the Big Pond near.. Unlike many other temples, one priest will feed the fishes by chanting some mantras and we can stand along with him. As per the information, we have to do 4 pradakshina of the temple.. Architecture and paintings inside are too good. Only Hindus can enter inside the compound

Nice experience 😉 But with your loved ones 🤩 I went solo on my way to Thrissur zoo, saw this place and entered here. It's mentioned as a tourist place. But poor maintenance Roads are horrible 😭 This is the place where I've seen couples kissing lively. I was shocked to see 🙈 lots of couples here and there all in hidden spots and in the roadside parking in their cars and lots of couples in uniforms. I wonder 🤔. The atmosphere is peaceful. It's strictly mentioned no plastics or wastes to be thrown. And they will check your bag. You can buy drinking water and snacks items from the inside shop once you enter. If you buy drinking water they'll charge 40/- for 1 litre bottle and will return 20/- on your way back when you show the bottle in the ticket 🎫 counter in order to avoid throwing plastics inside the hills. I won't suggest it for solo travellers like me as it's difficult to find a place to sit calm and peaceful as every 5 minutes new couples keep on entering 😄. The sounds inside are mesmerizing of birds and other 🦋 insects.

Vilangan Hills is a peaceful green spot near Thrissur City, kept cool by the trees even at noon. From the viewpoint, you get a beautiful panoramic view of the paddy fields. There’s also a children’s park and a snack counter. A perfect place for couples or anyone wanting a break from the city’s hustle and bustle. The only drawback is the poor road leading up.

Calm and quiet place with lots of activities for kids. Have a small coffee shop and juice bar. Ticket charges are there, by comparatively lower. Preferred visiting time is upto 06:00am. Sightseeing tower is available where we can have nice sun set view.

Located 7 km away from Thrissur town, Vilangan Hills is a destination for all ages with its scenic beauty and incredible amusement rides which were popular even before new renovations including a 16D theatre. The herbal plants initiative called Asokavanam is maintained along the trails in collaboration with the State Medicinal Plants Board, The Vilangan Trekkers' Club, and the Asokavana Samiti. The four viewpoints and Selfie Corner are fun apart from Kole fields with the walking trail connecting each of them. The hill has plenty of rides for the little ones, some of them free too except for a nominal fee at the entrance. The new rides can cost slightly more but are enjoyable nevertheless. Vilangan Hills remains a favourite among people of all ages for its trekking trails and rides. Set in the lap of nature

Kerala Kalamandalam is the premiere public institution in India focussed on imparting classical art forms of Kerala like Kathakali, Kudiyattam, Mohiniyaattam, Thullal, Panchavaadyam etc. Kalamandalam has 2 campuses one is called as Nila campus and other as Main campus. The Administrative Office functions at the main campus. The main campus is located on the main road between Thrissur and Shoranur. 'Vallathol Nagar' Railway Station is a local station to reach here via railway. Tourists are allowed to visit the campus by taking tickets during the working hours in day time. As part of imparting learning about performance arts to school students, there are specific slots allotted on every Thursday - this has to be booked in advance. Public can book any of their performances to any location, based on a prior agreement with the institute. 'Nila Fest' is one of their key annual event. They also maintain a museum namely Vallathol Museum. Majority of Arangettam (the first formal performance a performer in a stage to a larger crowd) and many other seasonal performances are conducted during the late evening slot to early morning slot. Majority of them are open to public as well. The campus is residential. Here the training of various art forms essentially adheres to the ancient Gurukula Sambradaaya - it's a traditional mode of education which calls for a deep bond between the teacher and the student. The training sessions start early in morning around 4am and followed by classroom trainings in the morning half of the day. The training/ teaching activities will end by noon.

Very authentic ambiance inside the campus with the background sounds of traditional instruments and voices. The staffs are very friendly to the visitors. The koothambalam is a work of art. A special feeling when inside. The only things which I feel could be improved is the infrastructure within the campus. As we saw a lack of maintaince of old structures, classrooms, roads and weeds growing all around etc. One thing which I would suggest is that they could keep a QR code near to every of the classroom and important venues, such that the tourists can get a clear idea of the the form or instrument it's importance in Kerala, it's history, eminent personalities associated with this particular art form or musical instrument. And also there could be a good canteen or snacks stall inside for the visitors and students.

A small boating facility is sometimes available. Facilities are basic and limited. Better place to enjoy our free time and to explore nature

A large park but some of the area needs proper management.The security guard tries best to ensure there is no plastic dumbing and entering adults into children only items.

Good place to spend some time with your children or your beloved partner. Calm and quit atmosphere. There are shops outside the park in which you can buy Peanuts and even toys to your kids.

Spacious park with big play area for kids. Evening walkers can spend good time here. The park will close by 8pm. Exercise equipments are also fixed inside the park. The dancing fountain is very nice and the kids will really like it. The place is lighted well and the authorities are keeping good care of the park. And surprisingly the park is very clean. Food and snacks are available at the gates outside the park.

Visited Nehru Park in Thrissur recently and found it to be a peaceful and kid-friendly spot right in the heart of the city. The park is quite spacious with well-maintained gardens, walking paths, and a decent play area for children with swings and slides. The highlight is definitely the giant steel elephant sculpture—it’s a great photo spot! There’s also a small aquarium and boating facility, which kids seem to enjoy a lot. The place gets livelier in the evenings, especially with the musical fountain and open-air stage where events are sometimes held. It’s free to enter and open from around 1 PM to 8 PM. The park could use a bit more maintenance in some areas, but overall it’s a nice place to relax or spend time with family. Plenty of snack vendors outside too. Worth a visit if you’re nearby!

Nehru park has quite a good number of slides, swings, seesaws etc.. But some slides and seesaws are having damages, rust, parts missing etc.. Beware of a big concrete and mosaic slide, which is not kid-friendly actually. Though, there's a neat lawn area also with a good tree, onto which even children can climb (with elders' supervision) and take photos. We can take good photos in the park. It's rush during weekends especially after 5.30pm. Try to go on weekdays to avoid rush.

Average place .. Equipments are quite old and damaged. Still kids will like to visit.. Renovation is in progress with some exciting experience to start..

Well-maintained play equipment. Even though the park is for children parents can also enjoy this place... Constant monitoring of officers is there, which is a good thing. Another interesting thing is the overall neatness... As compared to other parks the amount of waste inside the park is very less. Benches are constructed in several parts of the park which can be used for relaxing... In my opinion, this park is not only for children but also for people of all ages. No entry fee is required, the park opens at 1 pm.
