The food was glorified home cooked meals, which can appeal to a certain audience but not all. I got the soup of the day which was chicken noodle, and it was basically over cooked maggi noodles. The bread it came with was a lovely sourdough, the coffee was good and the grilled chicken burger was good. Surprisingly the best thing was the side salad that came with the burger. Well I am sorry but there is calamari and BURNT calamari. I ordered calamari on 05/06 at 19.00 hrs, complained it was burned and told that is how the restaurant does it. The food is average. The interior is shoddy and in some areas needs a refurb. The toilet look good on the surface but need cleaning up. I didn’t want to sit where they put me but was told quite curtly that the tables were pre-booked. So we had to sit on table 2( see pics) I wouldn’t come here again. I would add that they have a children’s play section which is great if you have kids. If you want a quick meal then ok. But if you want a nice place to eat, then I would suggest finding somewhere else!

We booked for the breakfast thinking it was the Buffet deal we’d had before. The male who greeted us was not very helpful in explaining the situation, The Continental breakfast was buffet style, but the cooked breakfast was table service. We found the manager to be rude and very unhelpful, even laughing that he’d switch off the toaster once he’d brought our cooked breakfast to the table.
We will never eat here again and would not recommend the service despite the food being ok.

We were pleasantly surprised after reading some previous reviews, so glad that we gave it a chance here. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and shown to our table . The staff were all really friendly and welcoming and our food was lovely. Tried here randomly last night. I had the mixed grill with peppercorn sauce I wasn't too keen on the sauce it was lacking so much flavour. Overall food was okay not the best mixed grill I've had but the price you can't complain. I really enjoyed the gammon it was tasty. Not alot to pick from the menu especially if you don't eat bread. My son had a chicken tikka curry the curry had about 5 small pieces of chicken and way too much sauce. He ate it all + was still hungry after it which isn't usually like him to be hungry straight after eating. Restaurant is clean + staff are friendly too.

I’ve been to Gallico a few times now with my daughter. The food is amazing , trying new foods that I wouldn’t normally put together has definitely opened our pallets a lot more. Tapas is really nice, smash burger with slow beef on top was delicious, only slight negative was the chips are quite bland even after putting salt on them. It’s definitely our new place to go to for food while shopping in Lancaster. My daughter is vegetarian I tried her food which was also really nice. Fresh cold water you can help your self too is a bonus too. The atmosphere is nice and chilled, staff are lovely. Although our last visit it was quite loud due to a group of guys drinking and shouting , the staff did tell them to keep the noise down. Previous visitors it was really chilled and quiet. Ordering from the table with the QR code saves so much time too. I highly recommend Gallico , there’s a lot of options on the menu including kids menu.

Had two breakfast meals - one was fine, the other (Lounge Eggs - basically Eggs Benedict) was rubbish. Lady brought it and said “Sorry, one of the eggs fell off”. Cutting into the poached egg revealed what was virtually a boiled egg! Never been before and probably won’t rush to go back.

I was very disappointed. First time we have visited Gallico lounge and the bacon was raw and I got served a mouldy sausage. Such a shame as their sister restaurant in Kendal, Cortillo lounge is fantastic. The man who served us was extremely blunt and not very accommodating. Our hot drink took 15 minutes to come to our table and when trying to catch the attention of staff, they all seemed to avoid us. To top it off I came back after leaving as I left a pair of leggings on the sofa. You can't go too wrong with a Lounge in my opinion. This one, in Lancaster, didn't disappoint either. We met up with some friends, had some coffee, and had a generally lovely time. They were clearing away a display of free breakfast for children too, something I was quite moved by. We came for lunch and had 6 tapas dishes and garlic and italian cheese fries. Delicious food,very friendly and helpful staff and great atmosphere. Im a wheelchair user and as soon as we arrived a member of staff moved chairs for me. Lots of room for the wheelchair to move easily round and the nicest disabled toilet I have ever used!! The only downside was you had run out of cheddar and sweetcorn fritters which was the one thing i really wanted to try!! We will definitely be back again to try some more yummy food.

From the word ‘Go’ everything was perfect. We booked directly by telephone, an easy process, with excellent guidance from Zuzia, a Supervisor, who chose a gorgeous room for our overnight stay and greeted us on our arrival.
We were actually in Lancaster for a family wedding. By chance and to our delight we discovered the wedding celebration was also to take place at The Borough Hotel.
Well of course it would, wouldn’t it, The Borough being the best hotel in Lancaster!
Warm and welcoming, great breakfast, dinner, bar, booze, plus a perfect, small, open-air 24 hour car park just behind the hotel.
Above all, the cosy yet stylish ambiance was enhanced by a super- friendly, yet always courteous and professional staff.

I stay here a lot when working and about time I left a review. A lot of hotels around but this one does it very well. Huge, comfy and well equipped rooms. Excellent food, only ever had breakfast but it’s always been superb. Staff are friendly, attentive and always welcoming. Visited here for the first time in over a decade. Remembered it fondly and was hugely disappointed to find it had gone so downhill. It has been refurbished inside since I last visited. My friends found it way too dimly lit, but I quite liked it. The food was atrocious, though. Had a wonderful overnight stay here. The room was so clean and cosy, a good shower, plenty of tea and coffee supplies plus a large bottle of water. The breakfast was fantastic. All you need is there.. full English, cereals, yogurts, bread, jams, marmalade etc. My one tiny grumble was they use smoked bacon but that's just my personal choice. Was really looking forward to trying this cosy looking place, but I was really disappointed in the service here..
Firstly, when the drinks were served, instead of bringing it to the table, I was made to collect the tray and take it myself as if I was employed there.
Secondly, the food was a HUGE dissapintment, an english breakfast for £9.45 and you gave me gone off mushrooms and 1 singular piece of toast split in half.. I couldn't even make it into a sandwich.
Ordered a (undercooked) sausage bap and a (overcooked and reheated) full English.
Let alone when they brought the food over (shocker, i thought I'd have to get it myself from the kitchen!) They just left the tray on the table with an over-stacked table tray and left. Bearing in mind, the tables are so small I could barely fit a full breakfast on there even with how little food they gave me for the price!

This is now my go-to McDonald's after previously having awful experiences at the other McDonald's in Lancaster town centre where the staff are rude, the food is awful, the place is always filthy and fights always break out with the teenagers who are always hanging around in there.

Popped into Bob & Bert’s on Penny Street in Lancaster and had a brilliant experience.
The café has a really welcoming vibe — bright, relaxed, and a great place to stop for a coffee. I clumsily managed to spill my latte (all my fault!) but the staff were amazing — they quickly cleaned it up without any fuss and even brought me a fresh drink without hesitation.
The coffee itself was lovely, and the cakes looked very tempting too. Service like that really makes a difference — friendly, fast, and genuinely caring. I’ll definitely be back!

What a find! A proper old-fashioned British cafe selling mountains of scrummy tuck and delicious coffees. I had the veggie breakfast which was immense. Staff were hard working and cheerful. Luckily I live in the first English city to host a Bob & and Bert's coffee house.
The restaurant wasn't supposed to be open for another 2 days, yet on walking past the doors were wide open and welcoming customers.
On entry we were greeted by a very friendly Irish chap, who explained how to order etc.
The place is very warm and welcoming in its design and decor. Very well lit.
The menu is surprisingly large. Enough so that I couldn't make my mind between the burgers, the dog's, the melts or chicken tenders!
Having eventually chosen, the order process was quick, friendly and efficient.

The meals came hot and well presented. Portion sizes on point and everything full of flavour.
Have to say that the whole experience went very well and surprisingly smooth for a restaurant that has just opened with everyone finding there feet.
I can see a number of Irish team members overlooking everything. They're skiing a great job of doing so, as everything is running on point.
Very positive first impression of visiting this brand. I'll certainly be returning again for some more delicious treats!

Having been twice now. Their big breakfast is fantastic. Quality is consistent... yeah you may pay more than spoons but it's a local cafe and £12.95 with coffee is reasonable... the only issue i found was the lack of choice between white or brown bread. But the toast was still great and comes pre buttered for your convenience...

A no nonsense sort of cafe, and the type of place I'll choose to eat. Interestingly the menu doesn't itemise what's in the Vegetarian Breakfast, so I took a leap of faith and ordered it. We have eaten several times at The Courtyard Cafe and this is the third time we have booked for a Christmas Lunch. This year was slightly different to previous years but just as wonderful. Visited with my husband and we had a small and a large breakfast (no beans for me!) No complaints from either of us as it was delicious, properly cooked and well presented. Been eating the RK way for a couple of months now and I have to say it's fab. The team are amazing and have gone above and beyond to deliver my meals (even when I kept forgetting to order on time). I like the different specials that we get each week and am excited to try next weeks new menu. 😀😀 The food is tasty and even though I'm on the lose programme I am still full after each meal and it's helping me to eat regularly which has been my problem previously. Replenish is a life saver for me! I order the smaller size meals and this is perfect for lunch time which means I’m on track throughout the day. The food is delicious with the right balance of macros. The menu is revised regularly so you don’t get bored of the same meals and there is more than enough choice each time! REVIEW FOR CLICK AND COLLECT!
So I've just collected my shopping and in the bags there's a little note to ask me to review my experience. I'm more then happy to do this, however it's impossible to find a link in the app. I think that's the reason you're not getting many reviews, as this nearly put me off doing it.
I do a click and collect every week as I'm disabled and fine walking around store painful and not a particularly pleasant. Normally my husband collects the shop as he's no issue loading it into the boot. On the odd occasion I've had to collect myself I've always found the click and collect team excellent and dispite being clearly run off their feet they're always willing to help with a smile and a brief chat and take good care of my shop and it's loaded with thought and care.
I've found every member of the team excellent and would like to pass on my gratitude to them all. I have to say there's one that's head and shoulders above the rest, Rob or Robert ?? He is genuinely a credit to Asda /the home shopping team and what ever he's paid just isn't enough!!
Every week you're met with a smile, nothings to much trouble and he's extremely professional and knowledgeable, for a while I thought he may be management keeping hands on, so was surprised when I found that's not the case. I'm sure the team could do much worse then him team leader. Thanks to him especially, keep up the good work .
Few notes for improvement, sometimes dates are short on items and the team do go and swap items out where they can, but this adds to the time pressure I'm sure.
The phone service isn't always reliable and the WiFi in that area is shocking ,so you can't always say I'm here via the app. The team are generally on the case and spot you, but at a very busy times you could be missed and it's not their fault.
The deliveroo,/Just eat drivers are generally rude and obnoxious. The staff from Asda don't deserve the treatment they get from these drivers, treatment I've witnessed with my own eyes.😡 I've actually come to the click and collect staffs defence a few times because they've always been every inch the professional and just take it. Frankly I tell one of these people to 'back off' and I won't potentially lose my job !!
The protocols for the delivery services need to be addressed.It's not fair on your staff and customers having to battle to with a rude delivery drivers that would trample over their own mother get away with their order first. They need to have a different delivery point because the more popular these delivery services become, the more like 'The hunger games' your click and collect point will become and could put a more shy reserved person off using it.
Generally a 5/5 service and worth doing, special thanks to Rob and the team (I hope this review gets to the relevant dept)

I had an awful time this morning at the Ovangle Rd Asda, where I was dealt with by an unhelpful staff.
I had picked up an item from a promotion aisle got to self checkout and price didn’t match, so I called her attention to
It, she took it off me, called for assistance for another staff to help check , while I was waiting, I tried having a conversation with her to let her know where I picked it from, she immediately had a frown on her, dismissed my conversation even before finished a sentence “I don’t work in that section, so don’t know!” I didn’t blame her or asked whose responsibility it was.
I had other transactions for clothings that I wanted to make payment separately from my groceries for the sake of a separate receipt and my account , so I told her I wouldn’t bother with item again as it was taking a little longer, again she mumbled things I didn’t hear , asked her what she was saying , she sharply answered again that I should just carry on with the rest of my transaction, which at that time I told her I didn’t want to combine both shopping into one transaction, she immediately called for the staff over her headphones “forgot it she doesn’t want it anymore!
I felt very uncomfortable, disoriented by her actions or lack of support, after completing the first transaction, I walked back to shop floor myself to pick up the item again and took photographs of products stating the offers in place, then took it back myself to another member of staff who was more understanding and helpful.
Her unfriendly, unwelcoming attitude was very uncomfortable for me that I regret i visited this store first thing on a Monday morning!

I was taken ill whilst travelling South. I live 4 hours away from here. I did a Asda order for essential items, toiletries ,water, fruit juice, snacks, fruit and a few treats. As it looks like I'm staying in hospital for a while. I was looking forward to being able to reach for my own water ,instead of begging for a jug 8 / 10 times! Eating fruit before scurvy sets in! I am extremely disappointed this driver clearly couldn't give a stuff! The money is also showing as pending on my bank account, which makes placing another order difficult. Please employ someone that actually cares about your customers.

Had a very unpleasant experience at Asda Lancaster 13/9/25 at 14.30. My partner’s card payment at the self-checkout didn’t go through because of a system glitch, but we thought it had as there was no alarm and no barrier stopping us. As soon as we were told, we went back in and paid the £44 immediately.

Shop tends to be a bit dirty and scruffy in appearance, staff don't seem to know when parts of the store are open or closed, like the bakery for e.g. nobody could say what time they open or close and when staff will be there.
